Beautiful hotel. Food OK, but not amazing. Very clean. Staff very accommodating. Very much enjoyed staying here and would choose to stay again Disappointed that there was no wi-fi in the room and it didn't work very well in the common areas.
Great building with a lovely pool Menu was a litle restricted and a very small wine list
An interesting building with character, and antique furnishings to the communal areas, and the food was excellnt - one of the best steaks I've ever had. There is a decent sized pool with sun beds and grassed areas, but it has restricted opening times - strangely closed between 1400 and 1600, I think due to supervision issues - but a real nuisance when you simply wish to relax in the sun.
Most attentive helpful reception staff with added bonus of having some knowledge of English, not common in Galicia. Good lounges and internet access. Pool not open in late June! Government inspectors blamed. No real garden. Room too hot and close: ch set not to go below 19 deg C. Poor bathroom ventilation. Breakfast not four star standard: relatively poor range of hot and cold meat, cheese, etc., only comprehensive in regard to sweet cakes. No English spkg tv channel, despite availability elsewhere of cnn and sometimes Sky News.
Although the hotel had some very beautiful common rooms and the bedrooms were comfortable, it lacked an ambience. Breakfast was nice No restaurant to speak of and we had to travel 10 - 15 kms to find the next village to eat. Difficult to find as the address says Vilagarcia but it is not in Vilagarcia.
Building and gardens were very pleasant. The quality of care from the staff enabled us to have a relaxing vacation. Swimming pool pleasant and not overcrowded. Lounge areas comfortable and attractive. We found some difficulty initally locating the hotel (as we did not have GPS). The address did not generate easy directions from internet map websites.
We stayed in one of the hotel suites which was perfect in every detail and we really liked the authentic "castle " feel to the place. We were a little surprised at the restaurant service it didnt quite match the level of quality generally at the hotel but it was ok.
very pleasant stay
Pool Reception staff not very good
nice room and pool, excellent breakfast thin walls
Clean, friendly staff
Well placed, staff spoke English, excellent restaurant Having to pay to use the garage is mean
Friendly and very pleasant hotel. Situated along the river Arousa. Service and rooms very good. Breakfast is enough. Parking
Helpful and friendly staff. Great view of the beach. The beds were hard, and seemed cheaply made. The 85 euro/night rate seemed too much for the room and services (but maybe the beachfront location explains it).
The staff were very helpful and very plesant. The hotel was clean and tidy. For breakfast there was a variety to choose from and the resturant provided some lovely food (although a little on the expensive side). The location was just out side the main town centre and a 5 minute taxi ride away (7 Euros). Would recommend for a weekend break.
Thoroughly recommend this Hotel and we are seasoned travellers.Excellent sea views Quiet at night Good modern design.Very helpful and pleasant staff Comprehensive breakfast included Will stay again.Easy access to Santiago and Pontevedra by car
Small, modern hotel with all amenities. Free parking, and across the road from the beach. Not much to do in the vicinity, but the 'A Ria' restaurant nearby is very good. No.
The rooms and breakfast very very good. Is a 3 star + hotel and not a 2 star one. Is right by the beach. Everything was ok!
