My room had the balcony, but most others did not. No phone access
Close to City We were disturbed by a group of very noisy guests until the early hours of the morning. Unfortunately the hotel staff did not appear to addresss the matter and allowed the noise to continue.
nice surroundings church bells at 6.00 a.m.
The hotel has nice installations and clean rooms They said I did not pay my stay at priceline and they charged me 89 euros cash only no receipt
Wirelles connection was not free, must have code. Maybe I must ask for code, which I did not.
Arrived very late; staff made arrangements for picking up the key.
Quiet, close to city. Room was run down. For example, the TV cabinet was broken, the door would not shut properly and the hinges were pulling out from the wall.
The hotel is conveniently close to Heidelberg. Internet connection fee should be included in the price for a room.
Location was perfect, room size more that what I expected, clean and value for money. Staff o.k. but not too friendly
Nothing: it was awful, that means noisey, dirty, unfriendly, expensive for its category S. 3. There was no possibility to evaluate this hotel on the same place (complaints)
Modern, comfortable, well-maintained About ten minutes walk to the old town: for sightseeing something closer might have been better.
For whatever reason best know to the hotel, we paid for a regular double room through the site, and ended up with a suite. I am sure that we were just very very lucky, but the hotel is fantastic. The rooms that we saw are all to a high specification and the staff are very helpful. As a little tip the rooms are over 30 Euros cheaper if you specify no breakfast. It is a bit of a walk to the old town, 20 minutes, but it really isn't that big a deal and should not put you off.
loved those mosaic tile heated lounges. they were really incredible after a cold day of visiting heidelberg thermostat on furnace still kept room to warm. perhaps going to digital would be easier to work.
buffet breakfast, efficient service, polite manner, great locaton, great facilities. wifi was terrible, when our power went out reception didn't do anything about it until i asked 3 times.
Hotel was very nice looking from the front desk. I really hoped I could stay there. Staff was helpful and made sure I was as taken care of as I could be for the situation I booked only to turn up and find that their was no availability so I was shipped to another hotel that was not as nice.
Breakfast buffet. Very good and much better than similarly priced breakfast from Leonardo hotels nearby.
the air conditioning was not working, we complained 5 times and instead of telling us it was out of order, apparently for some time, we were told that they were adjusting the temperaure to 0 degrees C, which of course didnt work! we received different excuses, technicians not available, other rooms had the same problem etc
I had to stay in a smoking room despite having notified weeks in advance that i was a non smoker! very displeasant experience!
Great city; very friendly and convenient to all. Also has great beer! All good
Large room, convenient location directly between the HBF and Altstadt Way too expensive for a basic room
good location close to the altstadt, very nice room and excellent bar with a big screen for sports
Convenience of underground car park When arriving by car not too easy to see the entrance, which if you pass it involves a tricky manoeuvre - I nearly had an accident
The room was spectacular! Very comfortable, well furnished- amazing night sleep! the spa area was very nice- very clean and large enough to accommodate everyone without feeling crowded. it was quite close to the city and very accessible by car from the motorway. The breakfast was ridiculously over priced! We didn't try it but were quite insulted that in such a nice hotel they have the audacity to charge that much for some bread and eggs! The parking as well was ridiculous especially because from Saturday afternoon until monday morning its free to park on the street (highly recommended).
location noise from pumps?or heating/cooling equipment
It's location to the shopping center & attractions, also the very friendly & helpful staff, along with the clean lesure facilities.
Nice and clean room. Easy access to public transportation. There are restaurants and shops when you walk across the street.
Very helpful staff and excellent location
It has all that you need as restaurant, bar and a excellent spa. Our room was a litle small and do not has captain bell to help us with the luggage
The central location, and elegant feel. Breakfast price. Although the food was great, I felt it was overpriced.
Facilities are outstanding, great pool area. Checked in a 1400, tried to make a reservation to the restaurant only to be told that is was already booked/reserved by an entire group. Parking is expensive, but I've always complained about it and it will never change.
Nice breakfast and friendly staff. Our overall stay was great since the staff and the room quality (despite the narrow bed) were of a great value. Spa a bit outdated and slippery due to the type of tiles. Bad service in the spa.
The room was spacious, the breakfast was very good.
Personnel were very helpful, and breakfast was very good. No elevator, therefore not handicap friendly; outrageous prices for internet use.
confusion and expensive brekfast expensive brekfast 15 euro person in not came again
I llike the comfort, the breakfast and the hotel facilities. When I made my reservation online I checked not smoking room. In my check in I was given a smoking room. Of course, the reception clerk changed the room, but he said the hotel is not obligated to follow the guest options.
It is clean and quiet. There is no lift. We have to carry our luggage to go upstairs.
It was clean and quiet. Room was small as compared to others I stayed in. Did not like twin beds separated. Breakfast was good.
Staff was very hepful and polite, hotel was very clean
Staff very friendly and efficient Poor location if you want to go into the city
you need a car if you stay there...
the breakfast guests have to pay for the htel parking
Great room, great view, great place Only complaint that having paid decent money to stay you then get charged to use the wellness facilities on top and the price didnt include breakfast.
Outstanding restaurant in which we had a superb meal and received excellant recommendations for both food and wine
Location , Cleanliness of the rooms and the hotel services the toilets are clean and comfortable but i did not like the seperation between the bath and the toilet
Only thing that was missing was that in breakfast room the butler did not have white gloves. :)., But anyway I like that big man as he takes his job very seriously.
Classic, old luxury hotel with excellent service and good restaurants together with a modern spa. With the price negotiated by Booking.com we really got value for money. Nothing
Good location Very dated hotel interior and exterior
Cosy decoration and excellent staff Price of internet access is too high and 24 hour minimum instead of more flexible periods
Room was decent, staff were friendly and helpful. All extras (breakfast, swimming pool, internet, etc) were separately priced, and rather expensive.
1. Afternoon Room keeping service: Ready to bed 2. Very customer orientated friendly staff 2. Details: One-way Toilettery (from Etro) represented the Hotel standard 1. Narrow front parking.Very limited to pick up our luggage. 2. For 22 Euro, Breakfast was not that fascinating. (Need to be upgraed to Moevenpick standard)
Wery solid and sound, you get the feeling that this hotel has been there fore centuries and all the staff is friendly and know what they are doing. Use of Internet should be easily accessable and free of charge. The Wellness Center should be free of charge for guests
The location of the hotel could not have been better. We could walk to everything. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The hotel was opposite the church. The church bells rang loudly every fifteen minutes. Other guests sang and shouted outside the hotel until 6.00 am so kept us awake all night.
location of hotel initially trying to find hotel; limited access through pedestrian zone
This is actually a historical landmark in Heidelberg and tour groups visit it! Each room was different and offered various amenties-tub versus shower, for example. Old World decor and views of The Castle. Fabulous location -can walk to almost everything. Would definitely stay here again. Tiniest of complaints-the baths linens were terrible! I use better and thicker ones when washing my car!
was not told about extre chg for breakfast
The location is perfect! Clean rooms and helpful staff.
Excellent location, large comfortable room. Church bells rang every 15 minutes throughout the night. Probably unavoidable anywhere in the city.
It is a very homely environment. I like the restaurant set up. The staff speaks good English and very helpful. The wash room is very small.
The central location could not be better. The room was very noisy at night with outside revelers noise through until 3 / 4 am. No lounge area for sitting and relaxing.
Location is perfect and the historical value of the building is extremely impressive!
Sitting out side and people watching while I was drinking a Pils
Brand new facilities, big rooms. Logical rate for wireless internet access. Rather poor breakfast.
Freindly staff Small Rooms.
comfortable rooms, clean and nicely decorated. If you leave the window open, it is quite noisy. A/C is available, however, I prefer to have fresh air.
Chic, modern rooms. Decent location within walking distance of the Altstadt and convenient access to public transportation. Staff was very efficient. I felt like I was being 'nickled and dimed,' having to pay extra for breakfast and internet access. At other hotels I stayed on this holiday, internet and breakfast was included.
The hotel is entirely new (interior) and is meticulously clean and comfortable; the staff were excellent. Ideal for a one or two night stay. Limited parking. The hotel garage was state of the art, but could not accommodate my E Class Mercedes as it was too long to stack and the on street parking meters will not allow one to purchase a ticket in the evening that is valid when required from 7 am the next day.
Very good service and friendly staff No
Modern rooms. Simple and efficient.
Reamrkably good restaurant inside the hotel. Polite available staffa at the restaurant. Very cold and unavailable staff at the reception desk. Smiling is an unknown facial effort to them. On request help was delivered about the free internet available on the concierge desk only at the price of evident impatience. The parking lot is not high enough for a car taller than a spider. Parking on the roads is very expensive on working days.
The rooms are very funky and have good quality fittings. The hotel is in a quieter location, but not too far from the Aldstadt. No iron/ironing board in room
Excellent attention to making this a great place to stay if you have any allergies or sensitivities to chemicals. The restaurant is quite nice, with a great chef. Rooms are spacious and the location is a short walk from the old city and all the attractions of Heidelberg.
Good value for money, good size rooms, comfortable beds, quiet location and a very nice restaurant.
I loved that our room had a balcony that looked onto the courtyard NA
The rooms were spacious and clean. The property was elegant and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. Nothing really negative. The location is a little bit weird since it's next to a ciment factory, but that did not have any effect on our stay.
The hotel was new, the room was very clean, rather big for Europe and comfrortable. Spa fascilities were great. No airconditioning - it was hot and the hotel shoudl have AC at least during the summer months. Lack of at least a small pool in the spa to cool down. Must be a perfect place toi relax during cold weather months.
Nothing was too much trouble for the Staff. Due to the lack of Air-Conditioning in our Room, they cheerfully provided a Fan when we requested one.
Nice hotel, good service.
The spa facilities were good. The environment was quiet. The breakfast is OK, but a little bit overpriced. The day after the first night, the room was not done. The whirlpool in the spa area are not free of charge, although on the website it is indicated that the spa facilities are free of charge for hotel guests.
Room was so beautiful! Staffs were so kind. no freezer...
Our room was large and light and pleasantly decorated. The bathroom was okay, and it was only a 23 minute tram ride to town (plus 5 minute walk to tram stop). Staff were pretty friendly and the restaurant was nice/somewhat plush. The area was a little industrial - Leimen is a bit of a whole in the Earth but it is very handy and the surrounding villages are nice. Given the roomy hotel and the nice development of the hotel grounds, you would have to otherwise pay a fortune for a similarly spacious hotel that wasn't in Leimen (there is nothing all that wrong with Leimen, it is just not as nice as much of the rest of Germany). The cuisine suffered from the typical lack of imagination when it comes to preparing gourmet food (i.e., the dogma that nice food needs to have one, or all of the following, in it: wine, meat, or goats cheese!). If you are a vegetarian wowser (as we are), maybe you should eat in town (though perhaps not in Leimen).
The hotel was "Perfectly" located close to everything like public transport, old city, restaurants, shopping and also easy access to main attractions of the city. The rooms were clean and large, staff friendly and concerned about our satisfaction and needs.I Would give this hotel 10/10 None actually.Just that carpet was not clean in some places, we could see dark spots.
Overall cleaness of the hotel Tv was not working.
The hotel was conveniently located. The room was very large and clean. Overall we thought it was a great value.
great location, the room is big enough for us, and the internet work very will.
Room was very pleasantly decorated. Just across street from Hauptstrasse to walk in old city of Heidelberg Hotel garage was a little difficult to get in and out of.
Room was large, neatly decorated and had a very modern large bathroom as well. The room was consistently hot and when you try to cool it off by opening the windows you were faced with a smell of burnt food mixed with cigarettes from a restaurant next-door. Do not stay in a room facing the courtyard. Our room was 126, which was particularly bad. Additionally the hotel walls appear to be very thin and we seemed to be able to hear noise from all over the hotel.
I thought that the staff was tremendously helpful and very knowledgeable. I enjoyed breakfast and the overall cleanliness of the hotel.
Excellent position, nice staff and comfortable room. Very good bakery really near the hotel with buttered pretzels!
Friendly staff with excellent command of multiple languages Nice shower with great water pressure
Everything was great. Great location.
We battled to find the address
Very clean and comfortable. Right in the centre. Need an alarm clock. Also can be a bit noisy from trams and people out late at weekends
I stayed in this hotel many times, and I like it very much. There can however be some noisy rooms (students leaving the bars / garbage being collected), specifically if you leave the window open. Luckily the air conditioning works fine.
Excellent bright modern room but with classic style in a really good modernisation of an old building. Fantastic modern bathroom. Excellent breakfast at a reasonable price. Good bar. Very friendly and helpful staff with excellent english. Location just about perfect.
Excellent, quiet location in the old town. Quality fittings, very modern decor style combined with old buildings worked well. Excellent (if quite expensive) restaurant. Breakfast was very good. Staff friendly and helpful. Secure parking garage a boon. No
I liked how they preserved the original building and in addition put an interesting addition. Breakfast was good and reasonably priced. Parking was great. Neat decoration with artwork throughout the building. Loved the super-modern design, but the bathroom setup was a little awkward as the door to the shower shared the same door as to the toilet. not for those who like 100% privacy in the toilet.
Recently renovated house, clean and spacious rooms, good location, garage, friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is a bit more expensive than some of its neighbours.
Ideal loaction with parking facilities. The satff were excellent & the restaurant extremely good.
The hotel offers a wide range of services that are to high standards. The traveller arriving by car will appreciate the spacious parking. It is located right in the historic center allowing to return for a short rest once tiredness kicks in after sightseeing. Very friendly and correct staff (but avoid to show up late for breakfast; see below). Check out at 11:00; even though we had been kindly allowed to extend. The lady at the breakfast buffet visibly had not been thrilled by us showing up at 11:00 (end of breakfast buffet) and had been hesitant to serve breakfast "a la carte" even though it is mentioned as an option on the list of services. Best solution, also in terms of quality: take breakfast outside at one of the numerous cafes.
the simplicity of the room very basic for the price
very neat design. felt very modern and boutique-y. parking ample and secure. hotel staff very friendly.
The Arthotel has a very central location in the city centre, only 5min walking from the main square. We had a "comfort" room which was spacious and stylishly modern. If you like a modern, taut design, this hotel is certainly worth staying at. The wifi connection was €10 euro extra and wasn't functioning properly.
Very good location. Breakfast was good value. Access by car difficult. Room we had was small.Poor lighting in the room & smoking was allowed in seating area outside.
The room was unique and very spatious. We appreciated the friendly staff also.
good location; unique room strange bathroom fixtures - didn't seem to be in style of room
Nicely furnished and big enough rooms, convenient location, nice beer garden Reception could be nicer, nevertheless hotel is very nice, the first impression when entering is not good enough for 4 star hotel.
Individual / unusal room decor. Good restaurant / bar. Excellent location on Hauptstrasse in middle of Altstadt. Difficult to drive to (in pedestrian zone). Parking was in underground carpark (limited vehicle height 1.80 m)
The room was very large. We were in the Paris room which was good for a group of 3 as the extra bed was a proper bed. The room was very clean and well decorated. The front desk staff were helpful. We arrived late in the evening and the room was not heated. It didn't take all that long to heat up though.
The staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. The room, Vermatt, was lovely and so different from any we have stayed in before. We will certainly try and stay in other Hip Hotels across the world. It would have been nice to have some tea, coffee facilities in the room although the water was a nice touch.
The staff was very nice and the rooms were creatively designed and "fun". Location was excellent.
Big rooms, great location, nice staff members The Breakfast table could have more selection of fruts, actually no fruts were offered during my stay.
the bed was not comfortabe and had a hard time sleeping.
A very good hotel for those who come by car - the motorway is very close. Very clean, new, comfortable and soundproof. The air conditioning does not work in the rooms and it was a very - very hot summer ! The fan we had in the room did not help !
Cleanliness, breakfast , value for money 20 min drive from Heidelberg. No easy access with public transport
Very cosy hotel, friendly staff and brilliant kitchen.Comfortable and very clean room. A little noise from the street, when the windows are open.
Nice hotel, comfortable rooms and a rich breakfast. OK for an overnight stay, with fast internet. Parking not free, but not too expensive.
The staff was polite, welcoming and helpful both at the reception and in the restaurant. Rooms were immaculate, and parking in the basement garage, while not free, was given at a modest rate and was very convenient. A fine experience.
Location High charges for period during German gp, but typical for hotels in area!
The room was quite large and very clean. Nice location.
Staff was very friendly and helpful, spoke excellent English. Breakfast was amazing. The "fitness center" was a joke, although the surrounding area is great for running and cycling.
Helpful friendly staff, good food, convenient location, average room, but with excellent panoramic views which are a 'must see'.
it was a marvelous hotel very fine designed which covered all my expectations , small but fine . tip ask for a suite over viewing the river !
Quality suroundings, amenities & location.
Great location, just a few minutes walk from the centre. Good personally service and excellent decor.
It's location was perfect oberlooking the old town which was just a 5 minute walk away. The hotel itself is excellently presented and the staff are extremely professional. It offers a spa which we didn't use, rear gardens with a summer house and jaccuzi again we didn't have time to take advantage of these facilities. Room very comfortable and clean. The fact that the carpark attached to the hotel was charged to you at at rate of 15 Euro's per day. It is incredibly small and I feel that the charge was unneccessary given the cost of the hotel.
The hotel has an amazing view over Heidelberg and includes stunning rooms and really friendly staff. It's a little on the pricey side
Beautiful & attentive to details decoration; outstanding & proactive guest service;
Staff has an excellent attitude, they even let us checking in upon arrival around 9.3am. The hotel is modern and comfortable. Breakfast was also very good. Nothing really. Would love it in the heart of old town, however it is closed enough.
Its really central and the room is a good size. good value.
The staff was helpful and friendly. It's not too far from the old town (15 min walk). Parking is expensive though street parking is available. Internet is expensive (Euro 10-20) and is slow even with the "premium" option. Cleanliness not up to the standard expected of a Euro 140+ hotel.
nice hotel, quite street, good location, helpful staff, value of money, definitely will go again there isn't any water cooking facilities, a kettle would be helpful
location and rooms no
It was quite ok, the room was clean, and the hotel staff was good and professional.
Too expensive to use WiFi
The room was clean, nice, and I had an excellent view of the city from the 10th floor. The restaurant staff made a mistake the first morning by letting us in for breakfast without informing us of the 18€ per person cost. They blamed the fact that they were busy and then tried to charge us for the cost. A short discussion with the front desk rectified this problem.
excellent stay the bath towels
Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Very noisy location. Outdated bedding. Mattress springs poking throught the bedding.
The restaurant is very good!
Easy access. Clean Nope
Breakfast was good. Room was small but clean. Wi-Fi service was poor. It worked but performance was inconsistent with varying signal strength.
ample FREE PARKING. Minutes from downtown by bus or tram. Excellent internet connection.Knowledgeable staff. Good breakfast. Soundproof rooms. none
Being able to self check in Pamphlets for local hiking trails and historic sites were lacking
Clean Not enough staff at front desk. Room didn't have hair dryers, cups, tissue, or refrigerators.
