Located in Wiang Pa Pao, Montharntham Resort Ruknailuang is within a 15-minute drive of Big Buddha and Wang Macha. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Spotlessly clean rooms in a quirky resort just far enough from the main Chiang Mai to Chiang rai road to be peaceful. Excellent meal in evening and good breakfast.
Pros: Our host made us dinner - Pre-ordered- so we didn’t have to leave the resort. After getting off the bicycles and cleaning up, we did not want to get back on a bicycle. Usana also made us late afternoon snacks of fries and chicken wings because we were hungry. She was very sweet and accommodating.
Cons: I always hope a hotel will have 3 things in a room ( rarely occurs in Thailand): a bedside lamp, a top sheet, and a fan, but our room had the usual overhead lights, no fan to help keep off mosquitos, and a very heavy duvet. I kept getting up to turn down the air conditioning bc I was so hot, and there were mosquitos in the room. The room was nice and the bed not too hard ( not soft either as is typical) but I don’t think it warrranated 1000 THB. Breakfast: Coffee was the packaged kind- not real brewed coffee.
Located in Wiang Pa Pao, H2O Hotel is within a 15-minute drive of Big Buddha and Wang Macha. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Convenient to our location, have WiFi, gave waters
Cons: Clean around property, views are ok depending on room, downside no taxis, don’t leave food out etc, lots of walking if you want food
Pros: Price was fair, big rooms, free water, free WiFi
Cons: No one was ever downstairs, had to wait long time for someone to come and help, only one person spoke English, little ants in bed, changed sheets when we asked, nothing near by to do or eat except restaurant, no taxis (tuk tuks etc)
Pros: nice clean room with comfortable bed.. TV with international channel
Cons: smell of the bathroom and a hole in the corner, bathroom need a renovation !
Pros: Good price and beatiful rooms. Nonstop reception.
Cons: Only place, because this hotel is in small village. Here aren't a lot of restaurants and shops.
Pros: Friendly staff, Comfy room and Cute cat
Cons: Hotel is located very close to the main road, so you can hear the noise from transportation all day and all night. No convenience stores nearby.
Pros: A boutique hotel with clean rooms and clean linen. Comfortable beds.
Cons: Unfortunately, wifi wasn't working as we were told that they had recently relocated from an adjacent building. Hopefully it will be working for other guests
Pros: Very clean and comfortable room, with all the necessary amenities. WIFI working well.
Pros: Clean, functional room with good location
Cons: It was ok. A decent rest stop between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.
Pros: Clean and good value
Cons: WiFi wasn't very good stop starting. Traffic noise and morning
