The location was convenient, not far from the BTS, and a short ride away from the centre and food everywhere. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the room was very comfy.
The air freshener used was funky, and there was no air conditioning in the corridor, and we were on the 4th floor.
It’s overall quite clean. It was quiet as there weren’t many guests present during my stay. The non-English speaking staff was friendly. Breakfast was served in a cute way. Fast WiFi.
Not the most attractive neighborhood. The loft bed is not easy to get up to or down from (very steep ladder), so a bit dangerous if you’re not so agile anymore. Bathroom shower rugs weren’t changed at all during my stay, which I found quite unhygienic. Staff doesn’t speak English at all. The English speaking owner was only there the morning that I checked out. Laundry service was very expensive (300 Baht) and clothes were wrinkly. Would expect more for the price. On top of that the staff ruined my favorite dress, which was very upsetting. Owner “apologized” but said she won’t be able to reimburse me. I left unhappy and with a bad feeling about the place. Too bad.
The room was perfectly clean. The staff is friendly though most of them did not speak English. The shared bathroom was cleaner than I expected for a shared bathroom. . The beds were very comfortable The location is really good.
Actually the place was very good except that one needs to know what are the facilities. I paid for the most expensive room in the hostel yet it did not contain a private bathroom.. actually it contained only beds with linen and towels plus a trashcan.. not a table, no mirror not a chair.. some of the rooms were described as containing a private bathroom while others were described as shared bathroom. . In the description of my room it was simply not mentioned. . B.T.W.. no elevator.. OK for me but again. .it should be mentioned. .,
The cozy dining room/reception. The nice and helpful staff, good service.
Here is like the hidden gem in Bangkok. With the peaceful location and various attractions from shopping district to old town street food or even the sky bar, which they are only minutes walking distance, Chamberlain is much more than the place that you can stay for resting after day trip. It is the must-stay for who have leisure or work business in Bangkok. During this stay, I really enjoyed foods around here. With the authentic and Michelin star, I have Baan Somtum for lunch. This place took me for 5 minutes walking and it couldn't agree more that this is one of the best Thai restaurant that I've ever had in a while. Then, walking from there to Robinson shopping mall led me to check some noodles and duck roasted on the way before heading back to hostel. After that, in the evening, I took taxi to the china-town. Owing to that the hostel location is in the old town area, it took only 10 minutes to reach there. Chamberlain hostel owner gave a lot of advices for having certain famous street foods like noodles and ice cream. Moreover, with the last minute decision of visiting sky bar, it was really an awesome experience. At this place, you can enjoy the view of Bangkok, while sipping your cocktails. After that, I could just walked back to hostel and still grab some supper snacks at family mart near hostel before going to bed. I would really like to recommend this to everyone who have the plan to stay in Bangkok, no matter you have only time for day, week or month trip. With the ambience, the location, the cleanliness and staffs, there is no place that can beat with this price. It is more like small boutique hotel with the hostel budget.
Nothing that I can think of.
