We booked last minute and the cost was very reasonable. View of the river was excellent. That neighborhood felt safe, but not very central. Definitely not the charming part of town, though not too far from it.
Great location for my requirements Food awful. Find a decent Resturant if you want food
the sunday roast bacon meal was very bad value for money
The hotel staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We got stuck in Waterford because of the airport closing due to bad weather and the staff did everything in their power to help us. Nothing was too much trouble.
The heat Breakfast room is a little old and more like a function room.Nice views of the river but decor inside could improve.
The Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant which made the stay worthwhile There were small things that could be improved on e.g. the curtain was not attached properly at the end.
Rooms on front of hotel over front door. Very noisy, people out smoking, noise until early hours disturbed sleep. Next morning coach driver left engine running for 45 minutes for no apparent reason.
location room bar meal
The food was lovely and breakfast was plentiful room cleaned even tho only really one day there very basic services not many staff and badly in need on refurb, staff all round werent very friendly not much smiles
Excellent room (210) with great views of river
At €61 for the night, it was great value for money Rooms need deep clean
Excellent location. Bedrooms very comfortable and spotless, welcoming reception staff. Reception staff excellent but other staff in bar & dining room offered average service. Could do with more bar staff. For 4* hotel there should be a better choice of breakfast to include selection of herbal teas
friendly and very helpful the meals where not up to standard
convenience to airport Menu choice in resturant
Size of room and quality of fittings
My wife and I stayed one night at the Fitzwilton. We really enjoyed ourselves. The staff was very helpful and our room was great. Unfortunately, the one night we stayed there, the restaurant was not open, but there were lots of great restaurants within walking distance. We definitely plan on coming back to Waterford and when we do, we'll probably stay at the Fitzwilton again. The parking was pretty rough. I circled through the "parking garage" three times before I finally realized that I was just going to have to cram my car into a space. Glad I got there when I did, because if we had showed up much later, we would have been out of luck.
Room internet service Lack of air conditioning or themoset fan. Very noisy for two nights!!!!
Quietly efficient, helpful staff, excellent understated Christmas decor, clean, modern but relaxing furnishing. I thought Waterford was very shabby, which is inexcusable given the decade of the Celtic Tiger, the unique history and beautiful location of the city. You should complasin bitterly to the City Council/Chamber of Commerce. Try walking by the quayside, but beware of hundreds of canine I.E.Ds.
Excellant rooms, very comfortable beds
Staff were very friendly and helpful The windows didnt block out much noise from the streets below.
very nice hotels, great staff on reception, always friendy, very proffesional
Pretty Central. Room was too hot and when we opened the window we got the noise of the traffic.
There is no car parking for guests of the hotel. Guests must pay for parking in a public car park across the street - very poor.
the character of the hotel - old world but with modern comforts.
lovely room, the food snd bar wertr nice--the bar was exciting since the soccer game was playing--nice people. great location
Friendly staff Carrying luggage over stairs
location and convenience The hotel needs to communicate with guests about changes in reservations
very clean and well kept, bedroom spacious and warm.hotel in good location and parking available.good value
I liked how clean it was and it was very close to the town centre. It also has free parking which was nice. A nice breakfast also. It was quiet also. It was a little dated but that was the only negative.
we loved our room so big and comfy and the staff where so helpful when we had a small prob one of the best hotels we ve stayed at this was our fourth time staying there and will be going back again
lovely ambience, very central and delicious breakfast!
Room was spacious and comfortable
Room was excellent. Brilliant value for money. Would definitely consider staying there again!
friendlyness of the staff. .
the warm welcome we recieved and the food.
friendly staff keys stopped working after 12 p.m
The staff were very nice and helpful, the service was quite good The food wasnt that good, although this is down to personal perference
A fabulous breakfast served by a very friendly waitress Having to pay for wi fi and having a computer each we also had to pay per computer. Also breakfast ends rather early at 10.00am
i liked everything i go every nov to shop for xmas i love dooleys
Good Location. Nice comfortable room. Pleasant surroundings. Good restaurant/bar. Friendly staff. Nothing
I only spent one night at the hotel but I found it a pleasant experience the staff were helpful and the breakfast was good as was the meal I had in the evening was also good. The only gripe I would have regarding Dooley's is that when I returned to the hotel after a night out around two thirty a.m the main door into the hotel was locked as was all other doors and there was no one in the reception area.So I had to ring a bell and wait a few minutes to gain entry. This is something I expect or have experienced when I have stayed in hostels but I don't think this is the norm when staying in a nice hotel.
Excellent food, and very nice surroundings
The ambience of the hotel was most relaxing and my elderly mother found the whole experience excellent.
peace and comfort; scenery and walks; lovely restaurant nearby at Cheekpoint
This hotel was absolutely magical. I wish I had booked there for more than one night. The piano lounge alone was worth the cost of staying there!
everything! - the staff were wonerful - room was beautiful with great view. The diningroom - for dinner was not very good.
easy going and nice walks , great for golfers but i dont golf.no no
Reminded me of the old world charm missing from hotels in U.S. A bit worn but stately and tastefully done. Charming... Please don't change a thing!
The room was beautiful very clean with everything you could want for the stay. Wish we had stayed longer. The breakfast bar was a bit congested if a lot of people arrived together
paid 198 euro felt it was expensive on arrival couldnt get into bar to have something to due to a weeding party should have separate place for other guests
Leisure Centre and very relaxing. Were not happy with main course at dinner but were compensated in a very nice manner. smell of paint
The location is fantastic and so is the building.
the people working in this hotel where the most homely people i can say i've experienced in travel over a 20 year period .no fuss-no bother. i stayed in the lodges.the gas fire was not in operation and at night we needed something to sit around while it was cold.we bought candles,
Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, good location, cosy and warm, clean Eating a little expensive, menu limited. Shower in room over bath, not very nice.
The dinner at the hotel was wonderful. The room we stayed in needed to be updated and a bit cleaner. We fet we were in a dusty old castle room. There was nothing to do there as there were no grounds to walk as the website leads you to believe and there was no spa-its in the plans for development. Very disappointing. Could have skipped this castle as there was also no town to see since the Waterford Crystal company closed.
I found the staff very plesant upon arrival. The bar food was very tasty but expensive. The service at breakfast was very slow. Locking the bedroom door was difficult as the lock was old fashioned
Great special off this site. Value for money! Suite we stayed in was brilliant!
it was scenic , and centrally located, the facilities were adequate but there was no elevator and for people in their 70s 80s thats unacceptable at best this hotel is a 3 star hotel. old , outdated, the ritz carlton was less than half the price and by far , superior
It's just a beautiful, small and intimate place to stay. The room we stayed in was immaculate with beautiful furniture and a view of the river. Not sure if they gave us an upgrade or not but it was a suite and it was a great value for the price we paid. We had dinner in the bar and the food and the service of the dining staff were great. It was a treat for us. The price of the 5-course meal was on the high side (65 Euros). We would have considered if it was under 50 Euros. However we ended up with a great meal ordering from the bar menu.
The friendliness of all the staff , the food, the surroundings, the comfort. nothing
Location No hot water in the lodge and the breakfast was very poor while the service was mediocre at best
Room was big, spacious and very comfortable. Staff were friendly and accomodating. Shower over bath was awkward to use. Also grout between wall tiles in shower area was slightly blackened.
food in pub was very good and served fast , swimmingpool was nice for kids , Hotel staff very frindly and helpfull , breakfast was nice pool closes at 7:00pm for kids,
Great food, very large and comfortable rooms, and great views from the bedroom window Can hear other bedroom doors closing - suggest some form of gradual closing/dampening
Hotel was quiet and relaxed, not large and impersonal. Saturday evening dinner in the dining room - there was a singer/guitarist, very nice touch. NO.
The staff were extremely friendly Bar/lounge was very small
nice room and excellent food a little carelessness in servicing the rooms. eg no hand towels or fresh glasses left on one morning
Very friendly, helpful staff. Quiet hotel with nice garden and friendly atmosphere yet 5 minute drive to city centre. Lovely evening meal. Shower curtain rather than glass panel ensured bathroom floor was soaked. Breakfast cold buffet bar was constantly empty and when stocked up, the staff only brought out 3-4 slices of whatever was asked for causing constant queues. (looked like a cost saving measure gone mad). Breakfast charge of €11 too dear if buffet is not well stocked. Service very slow for cooked breakfast (45 mins).
Staff were friendly and helpful and room was very nice and clean. I'd have to say the full Irish breakfast wasn't great, not very nice.
We liked the accommodation, the friendliness of the staff, good dinner and breakfast andconsidered it good value for this standard of hotel..
The dining experience was very romantic and service was superb. The view from the hotel was beautiful. The price for dinne was very affordable. Our room smelled a little damp, which wasn't too appealing. The large bed was in fact two twin mattresses side by side, which made a crack in the middle. Very small tv, but not a big issue.
Staff helpful and friendly
The friendly staff and the relaxing atmosphere no
the room was too warm and no air con
staff friendly, breakfast was nice and evening meal was good food. Location was good and we got a space in car park the rooms were in need of a good decoration. In our room 147 the hot tap was not working correctly when you turned on the tap it was boiling hot and when you showered the floor was flooded. Only one shampoo and one shower gel for two people which was a bit poor. Overall room was disappointing as the bar and lobby were very nicely done
A well located hotel ideal for visiting Waterford.Good clean facilities
The food was excellent and at a decent price too, the leisure centre was nice. The reception, bar and resteraunt all look modern and clean I thought for a 3 star hotel the room was small and looked quite dated a big crack running down the wall and coving was coming away from the ceiling, The bed was quite hard and the fact that one of the pillows was rubber/plastic covered was disturbing
The rooms were comfortable clean and ideal for our purposes Early morning noise from guests returning to their rooms
the most helpful staff and the food bed was most comfortable no
Nice rooms, large bathroom space, very clean Right in the heart of town -walking distance to everything I wanted to see
The location just in front of the Tower, symbol of the city, gives a good starting point to the city centre and the visit (well worth it) at the Waterford Crystals just few steps away. Continental breakfast was really poor, compared with other hotels with same star rating
The hotel's location was great and the reason we booked it. The bar and restaurant were nice. The breakfast was lovely. Leisure facilities were great. The room looked very tired and in need of a lick of paint. The paint on the ceiling of the bathroom was actually peeling off. Our room was over the bar on the first floor. With the smoking area directly underneath our window, we could smell the smoke which drifted up. No air conditioning in the room, we had to ask for a fan. Quite noisy with the weekend entertainment directly under us over the weekend. Furniture in the room was poor, some of the draws were coming apart or didn't close without fiddling with them. No pillow slip for the spare pillows.
The room was ridiculously hot and despite keeping the window open all night, I couldn't sleep because of the heat. The radiators were not on.
Everything was nice and the price very affordable none
A nice hotel, friendly owners, short walk to the city center and ocean. Clean rooms, comfortable lobby. Breakfast was ok. No Wifi in the room (despite other claims). Lobby room is closed at night.
The proprietors Niamh and Avery are fantastic. Super-friendly and efficient. The place has a lovely, warm feel--perfect for coming back to after a long walk. The rooms are clean and comfortable with en-suite facilities. Free wi-fi is great too. Breakfast is amazing--tons of options and all delicious! Avery's banana pancakes are a particular treat! All in all, a lovely experience. (PS--And don't believe the map view on Booking.com--this place is right smack in the center of town.) nope!
Friendly, confortable Nothing
everything was fantastic. this is a B&B and not a regular hotel, the owners was very nice and the room was very clean. they have a free Wi-Fi. I couldnt find the street in the GPS...
Spacious, clean, friendly staff, great parking. The water at Tramore tastes a bit unpleasant -- would have been nice to use filtered water in the coffee and tea.
Very friendly people there, the breakfeast was very good, the room was clean and nice, i recomend to everyone
It was within 5 mins walk of town and staff recommended some lovely restaurants. Breakfast was v good but had 5 euro per person charge for full irish. Beds not v comfortable room small but ok for short break
Neil and Maria run a lovely B & B. The service is exceptional - both are so friendly and helpful. Our room was really comfortable, and breakfast was really yummy. I would definitely stay there again, and I would have no trouble recommending that my friends or family stay there.
reception staff were exceptional restaurant staff were rude and dismissive. Lovely room lovely hotel BAD weather :-( the kettle was not working and was a pain as we needed hot drinks in the night and morning due to the snow.
The food was superb. 5 stars Everythin was spot on
It was easy and relaxing
friendly staff, comfortable, clean, great atmosphere especially in bar, good food except fried eggs. fried eggs need cooking on demand not left to go like rubber
stay was short but i would recomend to friends building site beside
The room was very clean, the staff were very friendly and the food was very good. Overall, excellent value for money Everything was fine
I found the staff friendly and very helpful. We were a group of six in total, and ate in the bar each evening but found that the food was very slow to be delivered, even though it was very tasty.
The cleanliness and understanding of the room service
The rooms were quiet and comfortable. The selection of Hot chocolate and biscuits as well as tea or Coffee provided in the room was nice. I was a solo traveller and would have used room service but the €5 charge for a tray to have a sandwich seemed high.
Staff are very friendly and professional. Good selection of food in the bar.
Great location to catch the ferry back to Wales - good value for the money.
The lounge/bar was cozy and nicely decorated. The food was good, and the bar was open late for guests. The free WiFi was also very helpful. The location was also convienient to get to Wexford & Enniscorthy. The beds were terribly uncomfortable and the water never got hot enough in the shower.
excellent hotel, Fast and simple check in. The staff in the bar were excellent so was the food. Very comfy room, We will stay here again without doubt No complaints.
Overall very good. Staff great. Room warm and clean. The bed was a bit dodgy - needs a new mattress I reckon. But I was so knackered I slept anyway!
A nice welcome from a charming member of staff. The room was warm and clean and spacious. The bar and bar food excellent. I had a ferry to catch so had to leave
Spacious, comfortable room. Very handy for the ferry port. Friendly, helpful staff.
convenient location to visit Wexford and Rosslare continental breakfast only
Excellent room and location -- easy to find Water pressure was poor and as a result the shower temperature varied. Breakfast was poor in that some items were finished by 9.00 am and not replenished(breakfast was available till 10.00am)
Clean, pleasant surroundings, cheerful efficient staff and good food. Nothing I would complain about
I was happy with the price and the room was clean. The food served in the restaurant was fine, but the service was slow. No free Wi-fi in the hotel.
