perfect view, nice room, balcony, swimmingpool, everything
Everything about the hotel.. The location was perfect for us not so far from La rambla and the city center -Plaza Catalunya- (about 2 min walk to reach the begining of La Rambla) and the tourist bus has a stop station just infront of the hotel door + their was a very close metro station L3 just at the begining of La Rambla. Nothing really. And I'm planing to stay their at my next visit.
Breakfast; wheel-chair-accessibility in my 10 days at the hotel i was able to open without help the door to my room only one time.
It's clean hotel and I like the bed bellow and the mattres I don't like the staff they are really not friendly make you feel like you are not welcome.
Absolutely great Cold water in the bath monday morning, but it was advised in advance
The bath tub was the highlight Overpriced for what you get. Staff was friendly and room was clean but that's not saying much.
lovely balcony with view of harbour. Huge bed. Very clean. Nice bar. 5min walk from Ramblas and 10mins to beach. I'm booking again for next year. Not the worlds greatest shower, but nice bath and bathroom. Oh, and don't binge on the mini bar...predictably extortionate.
The staff were helpful and very friendly
It was clean and the room was relatively large for a European hotel. I liked the band in the lobby lounge the bathroom tub was leaking. when you turned on the shower, it would spray water all over the room.
I like that is located very near the beach and some of the most touristy places in Barcelona. There is plenty of restaurants near by. The staff was very professional and accommodated me earlier then the usual check in time.
We have stayed 4times at this hotel and everyone is very helpful we really enjoy staying there for comfort Location Hotel staff its wonderful
Great location, 10 minutes walking distance to La Rambla for dining and shopping. The hop on hop off bus stop is a block from the hotel for easy site seeing. We came from the cruise ship port and the taxi fare was only $11 Euros. The hotel staff are very friendly and professional. The room we had was a large suite with a separate living area. The room was modern, clean, with a comfortable bed and very well appointed. I would hesitate to staying here again on our next trip to Barcelona.
I liked the view in the hotel. My room was very spacious and I had an amazing balcony. Certainly the management need to look a little closer at the service levels their staff provide. The main downside for the weekend for me is any request was met with long delays.
Great location fantastic hotel delux room perfect
the hotel itself and the staff and its proximity to the city, its quietness and views. No door on the bathroom of room 605. I was told this was a design feature, if so, it does not work at all.
Rooms were beautiful! Staff kept the best service throughout stay AirConditioner doesn't go much lower that 22. Also, hair dryers are not standard nor is a coffeemaker in room. Piano lobby can get loud as noice can be heard from rooms at least 5 floors up.
Modern style staff were not that friendly or helpful
Inner design is rather nice, rooms are modern and we specially liked open bath space. Although is near the city center, because it's on the little hill it's not so easy to walk in and out. We mostly used taxi in the end.
All No thing
The hotel is located on the hill side at Monjuic, overlooking the city. Two minutes walk at the back of the hotel you can board a cablecar to the beach front, near the world trade centre. The begining of La Rambla at Colombus statue is 15-20 minutes walk from the hotel. The Hotel itself was clean and confortable, the rooms where spacious and the bath tub is big enough for two people, the walk in shower is a real bonus. We didn't make use of the restaurant or bar. Nothing to do with the hotel, but the only negative thing is that because the hotel is not in the city centre we used taxis to go to and from the hotel at night and we didn't get the feeling that the taxi drivers where the most honest people in the ctiy. Then again this could be subjective. A taxi ride from plaza catalunia will cost $9-15, La rambla $8 during the day and $11 (Nov. 2010)
Staff very friendly and professional. Premises clean and comfortable No tea and coffee facilities in room.
The staff were very helpful. The room was well designed and equipped with a balcony and a good view. Food and facilities were good. The service was very attentive but sometimes the outcomes were a little 'quirky'...however we loved it. We liked the hotel and the location is great from one point of view. However people need to know you are on a hill overlooking Barcelona which is great and the walk down is easy. But coming back usually means a taxi.
Location, comfort, staff
Small boutique hotel - elegant, quiet and very comfortable. Very helpful English speaking front office staff. Rooms were spacious and high quality with excellent view.
The Location Nothing
good location, just of La Ramba, well lit area.
Helpful staff, basic accommodation but well priced breakfast buffet
The price, excellent location and very friendly and helpful reception staff. Rooms can be a bit noisy as no carpets in rooms or corridors.
pleasant staff, location in the city center, good breakfast incl in price for room cleanliness of the room, esp. bathroom
The best of Aparthotel Gutenberg is without any doubt the location
Good location,nice staff,clean&well equipped room,
Staff very helpful.Provided good breakfast..also had good internet service.Good location for sightseeing and shopping...convenient
The location The cleaniness, breakfast too crowded
tasteful accommodations, wonderful bathroom layout, very cozy. the staff was fantastic, and the overall attention to detail was the perfect touch The room was very small and very poorly lit. Extra lights (especially in the closet area would be a helpful touch) Also we traveled as a couple, only room for one suitcase in the closet, which is okay, but extra luggage holder would have been astronomically beneficial
Convenience of location. Nice staff. Nice lobby. The bathroom set up not convenient. Had to go to the bar anytime needed ice, no ice machine or anyone to bring it to room. No tissue or clock in room. Not many outlets.
The location of Hotel Espana is fantastic. Located just off of La Rambla you are only a minute's walk away, the marina is only 10 mins and there are plenty of restaurants near by. The design of the hotel was pretty good, mixing very modern in with the old. While renovation is still being carried out during the day there was a little noise and some areas of the hotel are still covered in paper and tape to protect areas. The rooms where a little dusty but we understood that this is from the renovation and not because they haven't been cleaned. I would recommend wiping the inside of the cupboard down before putting your clothes in. We got a good deal on this hotel booking it last minute so for the price we paid it was pretty damn good.
Great staff and you can't beat the location. The standard rooms are quite small, just big enough for a bed and two bedside tables. However, they are sufficient comfortable for sleeping. My biggest complaint is the noise from the hallway. The walls are paper thin! You will hear everything in the hall, from someone walking by with flip flops to the late night party goers returning. Therefore, expect to have your sleep interrupted throughout the night.
The room was very modern, big enough and clean. Everything is new and good in quality. Very good sound isolation from the outside but not from inside. There is a lot of noise from other rooms and hallway.
The Hotel's excellent location so close to La Rambla was perfect for our short city break.
The location was more then perfect and the hotel is really beautiful. Often we saw people stopping outside to look in. Staff was extremely helpful, kind and spoke perfect English. Our first room was too small and only window to open was with a view of the renovation going on in the hotel and this was a smoker room which we wanted from start but I could not breathe in there because of dust and then this little window. We got another room with no problems to the street with a balcony. The room was pretty, stylish and bathroom as well. Only minus is really the amount of dust and white dust from renovation, the room was covered in it so if you laid your arm somewhere you had it on your clothes. But we just did not wanna "complain" again so balcony door was always open. I even had to clean the toilet before we could use it. but we would definitely come back if no renovation of hotel was going on
The look was absolutely stunning no complaint
It is very central. I slept like a log as the blackout curtains totally blocked the sun light and the double glazing was really soundproof. Although, we were in Las Ramblas pedestrian walk I could not hear a thing. I also liked the mattress a lot. I think they could have offered us bathrobes and slippers. I can do without bathrobes but not without slippers as I had to walk barefoot in the bathroom.
Hotel is not even close to 4 stars standard. Should be classified as 3 stars
Casual and clean. Loved the design. The coffee room and free water is such a great idea. It was great to relax before and after in this room. The staff were extremely helpful.
Nice hotel, good location, but not what is expected from 4 star hotel, just a nice place to sleep
Free refreshments and lounge area. It meant that we could enjoy our break without having to plan ahead to buy bottled water for our room. It was also nice to relax there. It was also really helpful to be able to store our luggage after we checked out. We were able to enjoy the last day of our trip without having to carry our bags. The only thing we didn't like was there were no mirrors in the bedroom. Only in our bathroom.
The hotel was close to the main street La Rambla. The room was decorated with a modern design. My room came with a terrace, which was nice to relax on it. The hotel staff were quite helpful and pleasant. The Concierge gave an excellent restaurant recommendation, which was the highlight of my trip. In the hotel lounge near the reception area, the hotel offered a business center and complimentary items for 24 hours access. The item were coffee, tea, bottled water and apples. This was nice to come to in evening to enjoy a cup of tea or bottled water before going to bed. The rooms were decorated in modern design. My room was comfortable, reasonable size and came with a terrace. Overall, I was quite pleased with my stay. There is very little I didn't like. The sinks in the bathroom drain slowly. During my stay, there was a power outage for a short duration.
Helpful staff. Stylish modern rooms. Free coffee & water. Large airey & comfortable lounge Room rather noisy as next to housekeeping area. No tea making facilities in room.
The proximity to the Liceum
spotless and excellent location
Location! Breakfast not included.
everything the room was fabulous!!!staff were really helpful!!!we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be recommending it to people and definitly will be returning no !!could not fault a thing
Centrally located, great rooms. Very trendy.
Location - close to cruise port, Port Vell, La Rambla. Super helpful staff. Generally comfortable. Shower panel too short allowing water to spill into bathroom. Need maintenance because of spills. Not enough storage for luggage.
The Hotel Grums was excellent value, the rooms are modern and a good size. Staff were helpful and pleasant. The hotel has a nice atmosphere.
Don't pre-pay. They can never figure it out. They always try to charge you again when you are checking out. The first time when I didn't know they have this issue and my company pre-paid they even managed to convince me to pay again on check-out. I never got my money back either.
nice terrace, view the harbor first night room into the inside (dark), I was offered a better room for the next 3 nights to the same rate (port view)
excellent location ,beatifull terrace
Location excellent, price affordable! Very happy with hotel!
Excellent hotel, will return Small power outage
The hotel was in an excellent location, five minutes' walk from the Ramblas. The rooms were very good, beautiful bathroom, friendly staff. They didn't come to tidy up the room until the afternoon when we were having a siesta.
the bed was very comfortable and the room had a good size. good location. thin walls so everything outside my room was heard. especialy the cleaners oppening and slamming doors in the morning. my room faced a noisy street with no noise isolatiin. when i arrived and went up to the room i had to wait 10 minutes outside the door for them to finish cleaning it. the TV did not work.
made our first vist really pleasant wit very good all round service. very convenient to explore area for food, shops and sight seeing
Small friendly hotel, staff very helpful
Location; rooftop terrace great to find in city; comforatble room; friendly staff Not really - there is some noise from the street - mainly sirens - think ambulance service must be based nearby, but nothing you wouldn't expect in a city - didn't disturb my sleep anyway.
Location and the staff are top Seemed understaffed on the rooftop bar. Rooms can be dark and without a view
The pool on the roof rocks!!!!! The services and staff were very pleasent and helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending you or coming back for another visit!
Central location.Room with a nice view.Rooftop for evening drink. No
location room was very basic, breakfast was poor
excellent value for money, clean, friendly staff, we will be returning later in the year all the room needed was a kettle and tea making facilities
clean and tidy no iron
Very convenient location for all tourist attractions.
Very good location, close to everything (metro station, plaza catalynua, port, food , shopping etc) no refrigerator
Arc La Rambla is situated in an excellent location - close to all amenities. I booked a double room -superior but got a twin room - then we were moved to a double room on request but this room had no view - was very disappointed. We could not understand having booked a double room and ended up with a twin room- first room was lovely with the view. However the staff were friendly and rooms were clean. On the hotel paperwork it stated double superior room.
very close from the shopping area the bed are a little bit too strong
Good position and value. Thin walls. Could be noisy, but during my stay I heart only the houskeepers pushing their carts in the morning.
The hotel is very small compare to other hotel round the corner . when i was there the air condition was not working . i have to sleep with all my window open and i was at the first floor . it was a bad experience the rooms are to small . where as for an extra 10 euro you get a much bigger room just along the street
great roof desk with amazing views of the city! Close to Las Ramblas which is nice but the street the actual hotel is on is NOT in a good area. Homeless people sleeping directly outside the door. Did not feel safe walking at night down the street to get to and from the hotel. Our room was assigned to another guest the same day-- as I was getting out of the shower-- there was another group entering the room with a hotel key the front desk had given them... it was understandably a mistake but still.... a little scary...and very awkward! Beds are VERY hard!
Great location and friendly staff Poor soundproofing of rooms and was noisy both late at night and early morning
Location Bedding seemed to be old. Beds were comfortable though.
i like the location (very close to the center of the city) and the view from the rooms (we were on the last floor and had amazing views of Bracelona)
Proximity La Ramblas. Having a balcony. No bar fridge. The morning we left the credit card line was down and we were more or less demanded to pay cash. We didn't have the full amount due on us nor wanted to part with our cash so we had to coerce the staff into doing a manual transaction on the phone which he complained about. The free wireless is only on the first floor and was switched off a couple of times and was in a room that did not have air conditioning. I was also approached by a person off the street while on level one using my laptop on level 1 if I would allow them to use my room for a shower. I said no but felt this may be a problem for some.
the location, the staff was very helpfull
Location and room accomdations next to Palace Guell in a Gaudi like hotel decor some noise level from other rooms/hallway but not bad
It was in the centre of the city. Convenient location. The room had only a window facing to walls (φωταγωγό) althought I had ask for nice view and the people had told me that it was ok.
location; room and bathroom with good sizes. no wireless.
very expensive. not good value or money at all
locality would have been helpfull if security cameras were installed as we were nearly robbed at night and this would have proved helpfull.
The staff at this hotel were wonderful, very helpful and informative. The room was large with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! The location was great for walking around and seeing Barcelona. On the day we were to check out there was an issue with the hot water, I phoned the front desk who were already solving the problem. They extended our stay and informed us constantly regarding what was happening and how long they thought it would take to get fixed. The information was very accurate and helpful. Room service menu could do with being extended, also was quite pricey for the quality --- normally I wouldnt notice this as in such a location you dont eat in the hotel, I unfortunately was not able to go out so needed to resort to room service.
The location was fantastic, wonderful welcoming staff and very clean. I was disappointed that I specifically asked one of the hotel desk staff for information on costs to make a call internationally. I had various options including a pay phone in the lobby. On his advice I opted to make the call from my room big mistake. The call never got connected properly and cost me a fortune, it left a bitter taste in my mouth when we paid the bill to leave. Which was a shame as it put a bit of a dampner on an otherwise perfect stay at the hotel.
the location price of brekfast
I like the location of the hotel. Nearby everything The swimming pool was broken for almost a week and they didn't let us know anything, if we had knew it we had booked an other hotel because we booked this hotel because of the location and the swimming pool. The staff was not helpfull at all. The only friendly person at the hotel was the cleaning lady. The water of our bad was dripping into the room below us. The hotel was not good.
Front desk staff very helpful and attentive, went the extra mile just excellent skin moistureriser and hair conditioner
The location was excellent. Our reservation had been lost when we arrived in the hotel, despite the fact that I had called there a couple of days before and confirmed that everything was ok. However, we got a room although the hotel was fully booked, but unfortunately the room had a window only to the inner yard so there was very little natural light.
Used the outdoor swimming pool - it was great to have this outdoor space. The hotel location was excellent for getting around, and it was peaceful, too. We didn't have breakfast there, as it was a bit expensive.
The location was perfect. Right in the center of Barcelona. Close to the Ramblas, the old part of the city, close to Barceloneta, the beach...
Shower , interner and televison were nice. Also to be able to check EMail and work near the pool. Neighbourhood was a bit spooky at night
Very convenient location and the room is very comfortable.
