With a stay at Casa Isabela Luxury Rooms in Melfi, you'll be 10.9 mi (17.6 km) from Abbey of St Michael and 11 mi (17.6 km) from Natural History Museum of Vulture.
Pros: Great location, a short walk from the centre but with restaurants nearby aswell. Ample free parking outside but it was May so probably more competitive in the summer. The room was light and airy as was the bathroom. Excellent value.
Pros: This is a real luxury place. The room was very nice with a view to the mountains and the breakfast was correct. We really enjoy our stay in the Casa Isabela luxury rooms
Pros: Quiet nice place. Very clean Well equipped
Cons: Shower is in the room
Pros: Newly furnished and good heating
Cons: I did not get the room I reserved and payed for! I reserved a King room with balcony but was offered to choose between two "ordinary rooms". Communication in English almost not possible.
Pros: Our host Pierluigi has been wonderful. The apartment has been recently refurbished and is in mint conditions. The centre of Melfi can be reached in 10 minutes by foot. Free parking in the area is available. Breakfast is served on the premises.
Pros: Friendly staff. The woman that cleaned the room was so helpful. She made our stay better than we could have expected with her knowledge of the area etc. Great location
Cons: Everything was perfect
Pros: Very helpful host. The flat is comfortable and clean. Melfi's castle worth seeing.
Pros: Very helpful and warm reception from Pierluigi. Large new room with good view and balcony, very comfortable bed. Close to the centre and the road seems to be the main route for the passeggiata! We managed to park almost directly opposite but many times I imagine it could be difficult to get close.
Cons: Information on Booking.com is confusing. The rooms do not have kitchenette, stovetop etc - these are in the shared kitchen/breakfast area. Breakfast is all packaged and laid out the evening before
Set in Melfi, less than 1 km from Castle of Melfi, La Casa nel Borgo Antico offers accommodation with a terrace and private parking. All rooms boast a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom. The air-conditioned rooms provide a city view and come with a wardrobe and free WiFi. At the hotel, all rooms include a balcony. All guest rooms will provide guests with a fridge. Guests at La Casa nel Borgo Antico can enjoy a buffet breakfast.
Pros: It was perfect in every single way. We ordered deluxe room with terrace and it was superb. Outstanding view.
Pros: La Casa nel Borgo Antico is on the top floor of a gracious old building - the stairwell alone is very atmospheric. We were welcomed warmly by Marcello, who found us a secure parking spot nearby. Once inside, La Casa is bright, modern and comfortable with a fantastic roof terrace. Our high ceilinged room was beautiful, with views out over the Vulture volcano and the roofs of Melfi. The chic bathroom featured an original little oval window, also with great views. Marcello was very patient as I wrestled with Google translate, and he gave us some recommendations for local restaurants which were open on Sunday evenings. The one we went to was brilliant.
Cons: It was a little tricky to locate the hotel while negotiating Melfi's one way system, but at last we recognised it from the photos. Parking was a bit of a challenge - the town was busy - but Marcello found us a secure space. The only negatives - the door to our bedroom didn't quite fit the door frame, so it was a little noisy when a guest in an adjoining room arrived late at night. I'm sure this would be easily fixed.
Pros: The B&B was right in the old centre of Melfi on the second floor of an old palazzo. The room was great with its own balcony looking onto the castle - floodlit at night and wonderful in the morning sunlight. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice. Marcello and Michele met us on arrival and were very helpful in getting the car parked and carrying our cases up to the second floor. Great service!
Cons: Nothing could have been better
Pros: Friendly & helpful staff
Cons: No problems at all
Pros: Such a wonderful Italian hospitality. Marcello and Michele were fabulous hosts. They looked after us so well and gave us so many recommendations on where to go and what to see. The property is so well organised, breakfast is great and it even includes gluten free food. We would go back in a heartbeat!
Pros: Well furnished modern apartment with every comfort
Pros: Staff helpful & friendly. Good location for center old town area.
Pros: Apartment is furnished with good taste and was spotless. Nice and friendly staff. Good location.

They also have a discount at the restaurant, which serves regional cuisine. It is possible to visit the animal farm as well. The property is a 15-minute drive from Monte Vulture. Potenza is 50 km away.
Cons: Better directions are needed
Pros: Nice area, clean place with a nice restaurant for dinner.
Cons: Stairs to the room
Pros: super breakfast, nice people
Cons: bed, it is somehow "rocking"
Pros: This is a great agritourism accommodation with exceptional hosts and a great location for visiting some of the smaller cities and lesser known sites of Italy. The restaurant was amazing, and the food exceptional. We enjoyed walking around the farm and the peace and quiet of the area. Only an hour or so from Matera as well, which is a must see if you are in this part of Italy.
Pros: Encoranato and Mario and their sons treated us like family. They cleaned up a guest house so we could stay an extra night when they were sold out. Meals with fellow travelers in their restaurant were great, with much of the food grown on their fabulous little farm. A beautiful lake and medieval hill towns and great Aglianico cantinas are nearby The perfect spot to unwind while traveling in southern Italy. Fantastic!!
Pros: Beautiful view of the mountains. Amazing, friendly staff, delicious food, and big comfortable rooms. It was great staying here.

Pros: Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Located in Melfi, Nonna Ninetta is in the historical district, a 2-minute drive from Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and 7 minutes from Monte Vulture.
Cons: The staff was very friendly and flexible (we arrived with a lot of delay and they were always smiling and helpful). A pity that the breakfast was (as often in the area) made of crackers and all sorts of industrial products. We'd have preferred not paying for the breakfast and enjoying one in the city.
Pros: The host went the extra mile to help us out in finding the location and helped my daughter print out a plane ticket at her home. Rooms were large, clean, and comfortable, with good light and good heating. We had a two-room, two bath suite to ourselves. Location was a short walk from restaurants and the castle. The town is cleaner than most in this region, with a Tuscan feel. The castle is basically an archaeological museum. We had a great meal at a very small restaurant around the corner called Taverna del Borgo, with excellent prices and service.
Cons: Breakfast was forgettable—coffee pods that we made ourselves, not enough milk, some cake that was probably store bought, and the usually dry packaged toasts.
Cons: The breakfast was not good enough
Pros: Wonderful hosts (mother & daughter) who were very responsive to our requests. Newly renovated rooms with great breakfast and private bathrooms. The B&Bis in a central location near the castle. If you are driving a car, best way to get to the B&B is not to put the address in the GPS but to put the Castello (castle) because the only convenient car parking is at the castle. If you try to drive the GPS route in this Medieval hilltop town is very complicated.
Pros: Excellent standard of accommodation...the 2 ladies that greeted us were very welcoming ,wonderful fresh Italian breakfast

Pros: The hotel is about 2 km from Melfi and located in a forest, next to a quiet road. The staff is pleasant and welcoming. The room was spacious and the beds confortable. The breakfast is served in the breakfast room and an limited choice of options is available. The hotel has a good restaurant. Especially the pizzas are very good.
Cons: Including some additional options at breakfast would greatly improve its quality, e.g. fried or scrambled eggs, toasts or some other hot treat.
Pros: A comfortable, quiet hotel in pleasant surroundings with friendly, helpful staff.
Cons: The wifi was not good - it stopped when all the business guests logged on in the evening.
Pros: Location in the park
Cons: Italian breakfasts are generally kind of disaster. No fresh thigs, eve tomatoes, just a ham from the can, salami from Lidl and piece of cheese. And sweets.
Pros: Very comfortable hotel. Quiet location but close to the surrounding area we were visiting. Beautiful setting.
Cons: No issue here.
Pros: The hotel was located 2km from Melfi in a pleasantly wooded area and very quiet. In mid September we were able to use their great outdoor pool - cool but character forming. All the staff were welcoming and helpful, a bonus was that a number spoke some English. A good location for visiting Melfi, Venosa, Lagapesole, Monticchio lakes and northern Basilicata area.
Cons: Nothing to dislike about this hotel, we would happily stay again.
Pros: Great hotel in a quiet area! Very friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, nice breakfast!

Pros: The breakfast & swimming pool
Pros: Nice location, beautiful landscape. Very nice hotel and restaurant.
Pros: Most thing is good.
Cons: I had stayed in this hotel many days for business trip. Most things are enough for me. But there are 2 disappoint things. 1st, I hanged a 'don't disturb' ticket at my door. But they cleaned my room. 2nd, everyday I had a dinner in a restaurant that is placed in the hotel. Dishes are very good but serving manner is not. More exactly, I feel racism from Antonio. I received a menu after next table ordered. Next table were arrived later than me. He didn't give a cup for drinking beer. And I ordered a pizza and french fries. But he gave only a pizza. I thought there is miscommunication. But when I almost finished my dishes, he put french fries upon my table without any words. After that, I tried to understand as a kind of cultural difference . At that time he did knock my table. Knock seems a kind of signal to leave me and I clearly understood he doesn't like asian.
Pros: Beautiful property.
Cons: Snooty staff. Bathroom ceiling had water stains and peeling plaster. Disgusting to look at.
Pros: Pool area was lovely Food and wine in the evening was very good
Cons: Fruit juice was poor and fresh fruit would have been a welcome addition to breakfast
Pros: Very well equipped hotel with very nice staff. The room was comfortable, the swimming pool was very nice. Best of all is the hotel restaurant. Very delicious foods, professional staff, should deserve a very big Michelin star. Congratulations!
Cons: Unfortunetaly the hotel is next to the maind road. The water in the swimming pool was very cold. There was wedding ceremony at the evening, but it wasn't disturbing.
