Pros: Absolutely beautiful place. The ocean view is amazing and the "winter garden" where you can sit and watch the ocean is priceless. Breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausages and sandwich was great.
Cons: Unfortunately, the lovely man who takes care of us was not speaking English at all. But he was kind and somehow we were able to understand each other a bit.
Pros: Beautiful setting and friendly hosts.
Pros: Beautiful location. Excellent dinner. Owner offered and provided picnic lunch.
Pros: Very nice hosts, perfect spot to stay when you walk the ‚Camino dos Faros‘. Please be aware that there is no village, no supermarkt, etc. You can eat a wonderful dinner in Casa da Vasca!
Pros: many bird nest around hotel
With a stay at As Garzas in Malpica de Bergantinos, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Seiruga Beach and Praia de Area Pequeno. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: This small hotel is located just in front of the ocean, opening great views from the room as well as from the restaurant (during dinner and breakfast). They serve amazing breakfast with high quality products. All staff is extremely professional and attentive. We were lucky to arrive in the evening and have a dinner at their restaurant. Food and wine selection is amazing. Great dining experience!
Pros: Our sole purpose for going to this somewhat remote spot was to eat at the restaurant. We were lucky enough to get a room because after the meal we certainly didn’t feel like driving anywhere. I had seen other comments that the hotel was “worn” and almost didn’t book but I’m so glad we changed our mind! The room had nice decor, was comfortable and had a great view over the ocean. The breakfast was also fantastic! We also enjoyed walking along the trail by the hotel (although the wind was so strong we had to turn around)
Cons: We liked the location but a couple of things if you are planning to stay here: 1. There isn’t a town that is walkable. Plan accordingly. 2. In the winter they don’t have dinner every night. We ended up having a very late lunch which worked perfectly as we didn’t need dinner.
Pros: Very special place, quiet. Great views
With a stay at Pension Teyma in Ponteceso, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Birthplace of Eduardo Pondal and Praia da Urixeira. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
Cons: While the owner is very pleasant, in her absence staff was neither pleasant nor helpful. Paid for breakfast in advance of arrival, yet on the second morning arrived to find only fruit and bread. When we complained we were told that is all there was, although the prior morning there had been a more ample selection including meats and cheeses. Hardly worth EUR 6! Blow dryer in room did not work - after complaining was given beat up dryer that sparked every time we turned it on. Disappointing.
Pros: I had a bath as requested
Cons: The whole building had a terrible smell - a cross between deodorant and insecticide. When I complained in the bar the girl said it had nothing to do with them (but it is they who take the money). The staff shouted at me to make me understand, when in fact I do speak and understand basic Spanish. No socket to charge mobile near the bed
Pros: The rustic surroundings and unspoilt countryside
Cons: area is being spoilt by ugly new builds
Pros: The cordial hospitality
Pros: The hotel is very relaxed and very friendly. The location is good becuase you can walk down the beach front into Malpica (quite a nice small town) for food and drinks in the evening. My Wife and I were on honey moon and the staff made us feel very comfortable and welcomed us with special touches.
Cons: My only dislike, which is not fault of the hotel is the extent of building and devlopment that has gone on in close proximity to the hotel. Google earth and the website photos are a little misleading in so far as the hotel is now surrounded by devlopment and not 'on ites own' near the beach. This does nt detract from the fact that the beach is very nice and 'countryside' is in easy reach (walking distance) from the hotel.
Pros: Stylish rooms, balcony with sea view, relatively cheap breakfast, close to the beach (3min walk),
Cons: The hotel is situated within a big building site.
Pros: The hotel itself is very good value for money. It's spacious and very confortable.
Cons: The town of Malpica. It's probably the worst example I've ever seen of how to destroy a beautiful natural lansdscape. It made me sad.
Pros: Excellent clean hotel with good facilities. Very good value for money
Pros: nice spot and lovely rooms
Cons: there was a construction site right over the street
