Friendliness of the staff. Continental breakfast was disgusting, cereal was stale, cream cheese for bagels was outdated from may. Nothing was fresh or appetizing.
Nothing My flight on Feb 14, 2015 was cancelled due to a heavy snowstorm in the New England region. This hotel (Hillside Inn at Killington) is the only business that refused to refund five (prepaid) days of stay. They could have made me pay for one day, but they took all the money for the entire vacation I was planning to take with my son at Killington.
Nice cheap place to stay for Skiing.
Set back from the main road on, yes, a hillside. A few miles from restaurants, ski facilities and within a reasonable drive on Route 4 or 100 to Rutland, Ludlow, and Woodstock. Room had a separate sink and small frig, but no utensils or dishware. Room had unusual configuration. Bathroom area had no tub and shower was extremely small. Could not bend over. Toilet was in separate, basically, closet with no exhaust or fan. Breakfast was mini-muffins, mini-bagels, dry cereal, coffee, juice -- nothing special.
Stayed for New Year's Eve. Hotel room was huge with big, comfortable king size bed. Very clean room with refrigerator and nice shower. Walls were a little thin with guests making noise but it was New Year's Eve so it was to be expected. Perfect location close to everything.
Extremely close to all ski areas Cheapest price for the area Kitchen area was good, had microwave, mini fridge Parking was bad in the winter. Snow takes up so much room considering small parking lot to begin with. Paper thin walls Can't change heat, no actual heater Bring your pillows
Great price and location for a weeken between mountains No place to hang towels really well, complementary breakfast of eggo waffles, cereal, yogurt, toast, fruit cups.
They have an early check in at 2pm. Accomodating with an iron and board, nice quiet corner room. TV had the Golf channel which was nice. It was comfortable and priced well according to hotels that were next door. Some stains on the furniture.
Beds are comfortable. My first stay at this motel was shorter and better. This stay was longer and it was average. Washer and dryer are available 24/7 as well as the ice machine. The staff did their job but not real friendly. Myself being 5'10" the room that I was assigned to had a tub and shower combo which is fine and all but when you have to duck to wash you hair it gets annoying after the second shower you take.
Had a Dr appointment Room was very good and quiet I will stay here again
price was right room very outdated, musty smell shower curtain rod bent so curtain didnt stay where really needed
Nothing Dirty stained tradh not emptied. Kayak should be ashamed to havd them listed I will not return. Even if i lose the money for a booking in two weeks. I will not ever trust kayak again
Generally decent with very kind owners. Could use someupdating
the owner, treated like family, and the nostalgia of the roadside motel updated to a comfort level consistent with major chains. also the keurig coffee machine in every room. having to leave
Great Experience, great recommendations from the Owner!!! for sure the Best quality/price out there:))
Pretty much everything. Mid-century motel in process of being modernized. Super comfy bed & pillows. Great amenities: TV, heating, fridge/micro, etc. Beautiful view of river across the street and woods behind. Excellent innkeeper.
Awesome comfortable beds after a day of snowmobiling!! Central to all things snow related. FOOD,SKIING,SNOWMOBILING,BARS.!
First, this is a motel and not a hotel. If your expecting a hotel quality room at a motel price, then some of the previous reviews should be reconsidered. As a motel, and I have stayed in many across the country, this was the cleanest by far and the mattress was perfect. I honestly can't remember getting better sleep in 5 star hotel beds, but I don't like the super soft, big pillow types because of my neck and back issues. I also brought my own pillow as I always do. It also had a good size fridge, microwave and flat screen tv, which all worked. Room had plenty of clothing and storage space for such a small room. The free wifi actually had great strength, but you do have to step outside of the room to get a decent signal to call or text if you use Verizon. You would be hard pressed to find a better motel for $70 a night with free wifi and continental breakfast. Oh, the man and his wife that own and operate the place were very nice and freindly. Overall, this is my new go-to place to stay for value and location to the park. The cons would be that they provide small soap but no shampoo; some outlets didn't good the plug in; and the lower caulking at the tub was turning black in some areas and needs replaced.
The owners were very helpful, the room was clean and warm, and the location was within walking distance of restaurants.
Location relative to the gondola service for Killington Mountain is excellent. Great service. Will definitely stay again for our next ski trip! The mattresses are a bit worn out (you can feel some of the springs), but after a full day of skiing you fall right to sleep regardless!
Bed was comfortable Random shoe from previous occupants under the bed. No wifi.
