Cons: Expect to dress warmly in January!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Owners are very friendly. The house is extremely beautiful and the surroundings (both the garden and the whole landscape) are stunning. The location is very quiet.
Cons: Rooms are not soundproof, you can hear each noise from neighbouring rooms. Beds are rather short and uncomfortable for tall persons.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was spectacular, we loved everything
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The house is absolutely charming, in the middle of countryside, with garden, fields and trees all around. Every bedroom or almost has a private access to the garden, with a small table and chairs, just on front of the door. The breakfast is very nice. the landlord is very friendly and extremely helpful, provides advices and information on places to visit, restaurants and anything else. Really a very nice place to relax and enjoy the costa del norte. Worth also to mention that we could see a badger who lived next door, whom we met everynight when coming home, and a fantastic horreo in the garden :-)
Cons: everything was very nice, as I said. Perhaps it would help to have a small cupboard or a shelf or even a couple of extra hooks in the bathroom, where to put or hang personal objects. In august they do not provide dinner, and this was not so clear to us when we reserved. In the end if was not as bad as I feared, the restaurants are at 15 min driving, but I had to avoid to drink some excellent albariño at dinner, because of the late night driving in the dark country roads.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location! Super friendly people. Definitely recommend the place!

The bedroom was lovely and clean as was the bathroom, would highly recommend.

Pros: The Staff was super friendly. The Rooms are very clean and well made. The hotel is very quiet and the beds are very confortable. We extended our stay after we figured out good this hotel was.
Cons: I think its hard to say that anythink could be better since we was there in the off season time. I guess that there is always something to improve but we did not find anything major.
7.1 Good
Pros: The hotel.was nice and staff was friendly and accommodating. The lift was a bonus, and breakfast had a excellent selection. The bathrobes, slippers, and honor bar in the room.were an unexpected surprise. Also, the hotel is convenient walking distance to several.lively eateries.
Cons: Property is not beachfront as arated in listing, but is one block from a path to the beach and fishing port; Nice areas to walk. WiFi is "free" but does not work in any part of the hotel-- explained away as "spotty connections in these parts". As a solo traveler, I chose this hotel because these two features, so they were important glitches to me.

7.9 Good
Pros: Great location near the main square of Espasante, really really friendly staff with a home feeling, nice room. Somehow a nice view of the bay in the corner of the window. Basic choice of breakfast.
Cons: Room was a little bit too warm, without even a fan. I had the "do not disturb" sign on my room (which in international hotel language means "do not enter") but the cleaning staff still entered the room (there wasn't anything to tidy) while I was out.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The bathroom and the balcony.
Cons: It's a bit noisy.

Overview Reviews
Located in Carino, Hostal Restaurante La Cepa is within a 15-minute drive of Cabo Ortegal Lighthouse and Vixia de Herbeira. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Small town easy access
Cons: Quite windy at times yet also sunny. A bit remote location.
6.7 Good
Pros: The restaurant/hotel is located 200m from the beach, so that's really nice! We were afraid it would be really noisy because rooms are upstairs, above both a restaurant and a bar...but it was really calm.
Cons: When we arrive, the old lady (owner?) was talking over the phone, personnal matters, not professional, and even though we were standing in front of her, with bags and passports in hands, obivously waiting to check-in...we had to sit and wait at a table she was over 10 minutes later...Great start... Her (maybe) husband led us to our room at a really slow pace, we could have gone by ourselves, it was a pity to see him having to walk us upstairs like that... When we left, he threw out his coffee while I was paying, quite disgusting I have to admit...I think they should take it slower and maybe hire employees for some tasks at least...
5.8 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Extremely noisy. The door which gives access to the sleeping area of the facilities bangs every time it is closed and makes the walls vibrates. Woke up every time someone entered or left the property. The entire place is depressing, the breakfast is made of one big toast with instant coffee. I stayed for dinner as one guest had positively commented on the food. Big mistake, it wasn't tasty at all. I really regretted that I had booked there and felt mislead when booking.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very good value for the money. Most importantly, the restaurant is great - local food, local style, great price
Cons: Noisy if the window is open.
7.5 Good
Pros: Pleasant staff
Cons: Town was dead, hotel clean and pleasant service, economical, very quiet town
6.7 Good
Pros: The room was clean and we tried the restraurant that served good food
Cons: The hotel is not very welcoming and the look from our window was on a street that wasn't very pretty. The staff was professional but not very warm

Overview Reviews
Located in Ortigueira, Casa Rural Penaquente is a 1-minute drive from Rías Altas and 9 minutes from Praia da Concha. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.9 Good
Pros: Staff and breakfast ☺️ Very clean room
Cons: Location at the end of dirty and long road, very isolated. The building is made of stone so it might be nice in summer but when it’s raining, the room is cold and wet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What can i say rural accommodation at it's finest. This gem of a farmhouse had been lovingly restored to an excellent standard and provided me with a lovely base to explore Ortigueira. The room was beautiful and had an ensuite bathroom and was cleaned daily. My host helped me with my travel needs and nothing was a problem for her. I would highly reccomend this property to anybody who is looking for a little bit of magic in a rural setting away from the hustle and bustle of a town but never to far away with car hire.
Cons: No complaints about this accommodation
6.7 Good
Pros: The location was beautiful, at the end of a 3km road passing a forest and amazing views to the sea. The house has a beautiful garden with a nice pool and different areas where to sit and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. We were lucky to be there on a hot sunny day.
Cons: The owner lied to us and tried to cheat us. As we arrived in the evening of 10 Aug 2018, she told us our room could not be used as there was a problem with the roof window, but we found out that night and the next morning at breakfast that our room had been rented out to another family. She told us lots of weird stories to make it more real - which had the opposite effect. In any case, she packed us in a 11m2 room (we are a couple with an 8 year old son) and tried to sell it as a triple. The room we had booked 3 months ahead had 35m2, a double bed, a sofa bed with sitting area, TV and fridge, none of which was available in the tiny double room we got. As this was mid August and all accomodations were full in that area months ahead, we had no choice but to stay there. It ruined our stay. Besides, breakfast was very basic (toasted bread hard like rocks and industrial jam served in small bowls to make it look home-made) and the rooms are not soundproof, which one can expect in a casa rural but then again not for the luxury price they charge. Be cautious, especially if you are foreigners. We felt she did that to us thinking we would not come back (which we will not) and would not be able to discuss in Spanish - which we were as we have lived in Spain for more than 10 years.
7.9 Good
Pros: Super pretty and well maintained house and gardens. Very clean room and bathroom. Comfortable bed. Very quiet place and swimming pool, ideal to relax. The owner allowed us to check in several hours early (even she was not in the propriety) which was pretty convenient. Very nice and warming owner / employee Regarding the breakfast, the coffee itself was very good and we were also served with home made cake every day The propriety cat Pistachio always made our days. Cutest thing ever!
Cons: No wifi, despite being announced that the propriety has it. To me this is really the worst, because you should not advertise your propriety with something you don't have. As you don't also have TV in the room, prepare yourself to be really disconnected. Poor breakfast- toasted bread, butter, artificial orange juice Pool was not clean (lots of "natural" garbage like leaves and insects- which is normal, due to the environment, but cleaning the surface daily could avoid this) Thin walls between the rooms- be prepared to hear everything from the other guests. Quite narrow and long road to arrive to the propriety, so brace yourself if you cross with another car.
5.3 Okay
Pros: Nicely renovated casa rural. Located on a hill side with Beautiful views of the coastline. Perfect for wildlife spotting. We saw several deer and a family of wild boars came to eat apples in the garden of the casa rural. Great experience !!
Cons: Cleanliness in the kitchen. Refrigerator did not give us an impression that hygiene was dealt with adequatly. We preferred eating out in the villages closeby. Especially the restaurants in the harbours are worthwhile. Breakfast was limited to toast with jam and some breakfast cake.

Pros: Nice views
Cons: The noise level was not according to our expectations. - The neighbours have a dog barking all evening and from 5am in the morning, the road is really close making it less enjoyable being on the balcony. Breakfast included is basic (bread / marmelade); extra(s) come at additional cost

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel A Miranda is in a beautiful location with a great view over the local bay. The building is cool and well designed, with nice breakfast and lounge areas. The rooms are a good size, have balconies and are clean. The owner Marissa is really helpful and friendly. Great breakfasts as well!
Cons: You have to drive to nearest towns/restaurants, though this is to be expected and is normal for this location (quiet, rural area).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a really nice little hotel. A modern property with fabulous views from the bedroom and the common areas. Very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was continental but for a little extra you could enjoy a good variety. The cereal, yoghurt and fruit combo was delicious for an extra 4 euro. Best of all the tea bag came out already in the pot. The water was hot and not a problem to have cold milk on the side - perfect. The staff were all extremely helpful. This is a top little hotel in a great location for travelers with cars.
