Facilities in rooms excellant and spacious with good internet connection for business purposes. Hotel overall spacious and airey. All peaceful and nobody rushing around thus allowing me to relax during the evening. Location meant that it was rather a long walk to the centre of the city along not very salubrious areas which were not well lit.
Beautiful modern room and hotel, quiet and clean... Good breakfast
Friendly SPA and Facilities; Building Design;
the room was large and spacious. nice bathroom. spa a bit disappointing separate swimming pool to a small spa which got crowded. slippy floors. staff could speak english and spanish but wouldnt and continued in portuguese apart from the barman who really made an effort.
The most interesting thing on this hotel is the SPA Rooms are too noisy and not thermally not confortable. Price is too high for hotel conditions.
bed and airconditioning
Inconvenient location, light in bedroom is bad, ac does not work (not even after complaint), poor air circulation in bedroom and corridors (damp and smelly), disappointing breakfast
Clean and polite staff... almost a 5 star hotel, very close to the city center, although we still had to walk for 20 min. Breakfast was good and complete, but very disorganized... there were more persons waiting for a clean table than those who were acttualy having breakfast.
Nice new hotel - large rooms good bathroom. Quiet rooms. Excellent beds. Very good location - small town is very nice. Breakfast is ok but could be improved. Coffee from the coffee distribution machine is not good. The overall atmosphere and management misses dynamism. Modern building, design and equipment but staff is somewhat outdated.
Good location, facilities & staff. Superb value. Traffic noise and noise from adjoining bedrooms.
staff were helpful when I complained that we were given a smoking room when I requested non-smoking. everything is about 50 years old ..inlcuding the breakfast. smells of dust and mould - we had to sleep with the windows open all night. Would never have children here. Not worth the superior room upgrade - ruined Viana do Castelo for us...
staff very helpful and spoke English well. Room was large. Breakfast room was lovely.
The curious James Bond decor and friendly staff. The hotel was very shabby. Decor was 1970s and, although very clean and tidy, in desperate need of modernisation. The breakfast was very disappointing - no fresh fruit, no yoghurts, revolting coffee....
Hotel needs some renovations both in and out.
reception facilities and a very simple breakfast.
nicef riendly staff
Staff were very courteous and welcoming. Room spacious. Location convenient and good view from breakfast room Hotel a bit tired. Fresh juice at Breakfast would be good
Its central location and parking facilities Breakfast reduced to minimum, but since the hotel is quite cheap we could understand this.
The noise of the sea It´s too hard parking during week-end
situation close to the sea. no.
Ocean views. Very helpful, charming staff. Restaurant did it's best to acoomodate a vegetarian diet.
Cleansiness was very good, staff was friendly, food OK. Fitness equipment too old and not fully functional - very often "misused" by kids. Strange smell on the third floor - musty odor. Size of the pool.
All facillities were clean . Food at breakfast was good [I did not use the hotel resturant in the evening.] Plenty of entertainment on site The hotel corridors and rooms could do with some tlc. The carpets are threadbare and the air conditioning does not cool the rooms down . The smell of cooking as we approached our room was not nice.
Very relaxing with lots of facilities. Any problems quickly resolved. The area is lovely and the beach fantastic. Will definitely visit again. Rooms not quite 4 star standard although very large, clean and comfortable. Day excursions arranged at the hotel would be useful, otherwise have to use a car or local buses which have limited destinations and unpredictable schedules
Excellent facilites and ideal location next to beach
i've stayed at the hotel for the last four years and always enjoyed it. A good hotel for families, close to the beach with many restaurants within 10-15 minutes walk (in Fao, the next village). Very relaxing with pleasant gardens. Good facilities - bowling alley, tennis courts (2), putting green, pool. Helpful reception staff. At times, a shortage staff in the bar - particularly in the afternoon - meaning that service was a bit slow. The staff did their best but at times had too much to do. The hotel has a ten-pin bowling alley, however it is clear that no investment has been made in it in recent years - lack of (particualy ones for children) balls and many of those were damaged. At weekends in the summer, the resort is extremely busy and so parking is difficult, meaning that it may not be possible to enter the hotel car park. Breakfasts are ok, but not comparable with those in the hotel's 4 or 5 star Spanish equivalents.
the hotel was very well placed, the pool very good and clean, the staff were very attentive and excellent (especially the waiters in the restaurant), the restaurant food was really good at dinner the airconditioning settings could not be changed and it was very warm and muggy inside the room at night, we had to open the patio doors.
Brand new hotel, really nice staff, excelent design and architecture, the best location in town right by the river and 2mn walk from the old centre...Excelent value for the money they charge. The acoustics of the room could be improved, some noise from the corridors and other rooms... could have a pool...but since you have the river just in front...take a dive!
This was a lovely modern, designer hotel, situated a few minutes walk from the town centre. We were treated with great courtesy by the reception staff, who were very helpful. Beautiful rooms: very comfortable. The hotel had a rather subdued sign outside and we walked past a couple of times before realising it was our hotel.
A modern hotel only a short riverside walk from the town centre. While reasonably comfortable it is absolutely soulless. It's total lack of charm.
Good location, more comfortable than your average three star resort hotel, polite attentive staff In the very nice smart restaurant you will get highly attentive service, but dinner may be a gamble. My fillet steak was as tough as old boots and the salad was absurdly overdressed. Consider going out for supper. The breakfast, however, was fine.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Clean hotel, well positioned for exploring northern Portugal. Pool area was attractive and there was a good play area for children. The town was traditional and local people were friendly. Location on esplanade was good for sea views. It suited our needs perfectly as a clean, quiet and safe location where we could base ourselves. Parking was easy.
The sea view rooms are worth the extra money, however all rooms face either the beach or the pool. The restaraunt was expensive compared to other local restaraunts and the food was not up to the expected standard. There was also no option for vegetarians.
All of it. The view from our room was superb. The room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The hotel facilities were attractive. Possibly the hot food at breakfast time could have been cooked less far in advance. The rest of the food was nice, with a good choice.
food in restaurant, staff helpfulness, location for places of interset e.g. braga national parks. They even improved the weather!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We really enjoyed our view of the ocean and walking on the beach, which is a short stroll from the hotel. Our room was large and comfortable, as were the public spaces.
good food, good location.
Great Swimming Pool and nice Seafront Location The Food was copious but boring
Quiet, right in front of the sea and beach. Modern, minimalist design. Make sure to book a sea view room. Good restaurant. Access to swiming pool and spa for hotel guests.
Lovely standard, very friendly reception staff, great restaurant Nowhere to sit outside near the beach or pool
Very close to the sea our room had the afternoon/evening sun which was great. A bit 'out of town'. Food very good but on expensive side
the beach was beautiful, the rooms were clean but small. i was disappointed that we did not have an ocean view room.
The style, comfort and location in the town No restaurants close by
fabulous view Terrible smell at night from burning rubbish. A couple of chairs on the room terrace would be welcome
Convenience and the view was very nice.
Excellent ocean views, spacious modern rooms.
everything except (see next point) the horrible elevator music in Restaurant/Breakfast room
The town centre location; friendly and obliging staff, very clever mix of ancient and modern in the design, excellent food Harsh lighting in the bathroom (but this is being picky!)
The staff were attentive and very friendly, the hotel has great style and atmosphere. The foos was very good.
Stylish old town house in beautiful Viana, very nice combination of the old & the new
The Restaurant/Chef/Waiters - very charming. Receptionists - extremely helpful The pillows - just too full your head slipped off them!
I like the staff, the building, the location... The bed could be more confortable, the matress is not that great. breakfast could be improved and a swimming pool would really add to this beaultiful property.
The fact it was an historical house only that during my stay there were constructions nearby that were noisy in the morning
Breakfast above average, ambiance enchanting, near to shopping, staff friendly and helpful, everyone spoke english. The mattress was a bit hard for our taste.
The location of this hotel is ideal if like us you plan to use public transport. Both train and bus stations are close by. The hotel is also very convenient for the old town, theatre and river Lima. Although centrally located the hotel is quiet and relaxing, has a well kept garden terrace area and is beautifully decorated throughout. All the reception staff spoke English and were very polite and helpful. The inclusive breakfast was very good with both cooked and continental on offer. None to mention
Friendly and informative staff, nice historical setting, easy walking distance to main points of interest The breakfast is not 5*, Ibis offer better, the fruit was not fresh and neither was the juice and nothing hot on offer you have to order which saves on costs for the hotel but puts people off due to the wait, the hotel is located on a main junction so ask for a quiet room if you do not want to be woken early by passing traffic
Clean tidy smart quiet Leaving
I loved everything. The staff was extremely kind, the rooms have been recently renovated-one year ago I think-and they are very "cool", the view was lovely, location nice, breakfast lovely, I have nothing to complain about. Good luck to them! No
+ Very well located + Very nice staff - Very small room - WC without privacy - Very poor breakfast. At least self-service would be better. - Parking is very small and paid
Everything. It has modern rooms. It is a small hotel but very comfortable.
Good hotel. Central close to the river and the town. We had a room with a balcony which made good use of the available space. The staff where impressive and very helpful. Good English spoken by everyone. Nice town with good links to the surrounding towns. A good base for the Minho.
if you are a light sleeper, ask fo a higher floor, as the street below is cobblestoned
The staff were professional, very welcoming and helpful. The information we received upon arrival about sites of interest in the town and the surrounding area was excellent. Very clean, bright and modern hotel in the historic centre of town. Because of the quality of the room and our experience of the hotel generally, we extended our stay there by an additional two nights. They were very accommodating. a small refrigerator and tea/coffee making facilities would have completed the picture for us.
The big plus: the very friendly staff!
The clean, modern decor, the location, and the very friendly and helpful staff made our visit more than perfect. We liked everything.
Fantastic location! So comfortable and criepy clean-minimalist decor.Very near station for daytrips and luggage. uncomfy pillows.
Location, staff Nothing - hotel could do with some decoration though!
Our accommodation was secluded and relaxing and very enjoyable and obviously had a lot to offer in peak season. Our accommodation was possibly not what we expected for a 4 star hotel in terms of modern conveniences but overall was very enjoyable.
Good location and excellent value for money
friendly staff , quiet location , excellant value
Very beautiful and peaceful place. Lots of nature, quiet. It could be a bit better rennovated.
Lovely hotel in centre of Vila Praia de Ancora. Good staff, very comfortable room and huge choise of breakfast. all spotlessly clean
The breakfast was excellent. The fact that the beds were separated...
very good location, excellent breakfast
Pequeno almoço, instalações, simpatia, isolamento acústico Parque de estacionamento pequeno e algo longe do hotel, mas também condicionado pela localização do hotel numa parte antiga da vila.
First of all - the little town is so nice and with only few people, when out of season. The rooms, staff, pool area is really nice. Good breakfast (more like brunch). Nice with the balcony - it makes the room bigger. Just one insignificant thing... the breakfast did not have fresh fruit
Very small room the place were we take a bath with aromoterapia is for a chil not a adult person
A quite pleasant hotel with a good position The early morning calls from the cockrels
staff friendly and helpful. free internet and parking. breakfast was brilliant with lots of choice. swimming pool great and excellent beach for children only 3mins walk. supermarket next door. rooms cleaned everyday. nothing bad to say, everything was amazing and such good value for money.
it has a nice location a little bit noisy, bedframe was old and made a lot of noise
clean rooms, very good breakfast, parking quite far away from the hotel
Location above a hill overlooking a fertile plain and the sea beyond. Spectacular views. Reception and dining room staff. Cleanliness. Rooms are a bit old and in need of renovation.
the old fashioned good manners and service which is hard to find nowadays in hotels. Fabulous view of sea and countryside no complaints. Heated pool would be nice
I found the staff to be friendly and courteous. The views from the hotel. You would really need to have your own transport as it is a 10 minute drive to the town/beach.
Calm countryside hotel with short distance to different histiric sites
Great view, Nice room, Staff friendly, Pools great especially for the kids, Good buffet brkfst in morning. Would definitely reccommend with kids.
Special thanks to lady who checked we in. Very excellent service
The view and calm surroundings (off season!), outside of major cities. Staff was helpful without being pushy. Only minor things: lack of waste baskets in handy places, shower curtain that was too long
Fantastic location, good rooms, not a jumbo-hotel, but personal service and kind people. All is very good, just 1 observation to the hotel: please do something about the 'parasol' at the pool. These cheap umbrellas from a coffee brand tend to tumble and land into your face due to the winds. So if there is wind (which tends to be the rule, due to the hilltop on which the hotel is located) you have to sit in the sun, or find schelter at the bar...
friendly staff, delicious breakfast
Very plasent stay at Hotel Bagoeira. The Hotel is very central in Barcelos, and the stuff is very frindly and accommodating, and staying at the hotel is an excellent value for your money. The room is spacious enough, and room, bathroom, and beds are comfortable and clean, and comes with full buffet breakfast. I would definitely use the Hotel again if Going back to Barcelos. There was nothing I didn't like
Excellent hotel with extremely good restaurant. Great value and comfort
good breakfast, good facilities, good value, good location air-conditioned/hot atmosphere
Reception, breakfast and room Restaurant. Food looked and tasted pre-prepared and microwaved and overpriced
quite hotel. friendly staff. well situated for our neads.
Excellent restaurant, best of the holiday. Very comfortable. Not a lot of character to the hotel.
An extremely efficiently run hotel, clean, comfortable and friendly. We were so impressed with it we stayed another night
Cleanliness, confort, breakfast and staff. Also the restaurant is highly recommended. Only that my room was just above the bar, and we could hear some noise from the chairs above, but not for long.
the staff, the value, the location, and the breakfast
Excelent service, specially in the Reception.
quite local just out of ponte lima excellent restaurant and service noisy of cars outside front of hotel on cobbled road if you have a front room
Facilities are good The hotel is stark and lacks charactor.
Good hotel for resting. Nothing relevant to point out. The only thing I believe that needs improving is the breakfast. It's not bad, but it could be better.
Ease of access and open spaces of the golf course The 300 yard walk to the restaurant (golf club house) can get a bit cold and wet! The hotel must have the biggest rusty door in the world - maybe something went wrong with the stainless steel effect.
Quiet and relaxing atmosphere
nice situation and surrounding, modern architecture air condition was not working at our arrival (27 °C in the room), fixed 36 hours later
