Comfortable beds Location not ideal. No pool or spa.
An established hotel in a lovely parkland setting with Oslo fjord close by. Excellent helpful staff and large room with comfortable beds. Nothing to complain about but the hotel is quite old now and some of the furniture and fittings could do with replacing. However, this added to the charm of the place.
This hotel is close to Oslo Downtown
We booked this hotel as our other choices were unavailable due to a conference. We knew it was not centrally located, but we did not expect to find a hotel with such limited dining and drinking choices. Luckily town was only 10 mins away by bus. Buffet breakfast was poor to middling. There was a huge section of unavailable tables (reserved) but noone filled them before breakfast finished.Hotel decor is very dated, with patchy, worn out carpet. The elevator was disturbingly rickety. The "beach" was in disuse, even though it was the middle of June. This hotel is more suitable for conferences etc, but without some renovation, we wouldn't revisit it.
Very easy to get to the city
Very friendly and helpful staff. Well furnished and maintained. Bright and airy. Good general comfort and cleanliness and a really nice location for a city hotel. The room was rather too basic for the price - no kettle or iron and very small. Based on my own recent experience an equivalent room would be cheaper in London, Paris, Munich, New York or San Fransisco. I did like the hotel though.
Neigbourhood - quiet, nice place with a lot of greens. Close to sea. Compact, narrow hotel room. Poor ventilation / ac. Old fashioned design from early seventies.
Breakfast Buffet was good. Location is good if your only interest is to be near the Telenor group headquarters. Room very small, worn out, & cold. Bed very small and uncomfortable. Bathroom was dirty, especially shower curtain
A comprehensive buffet breakfast inclusive Lack of coffee shop facilities/snack bar as no room coffee making facilities are available
The restaurant The location is difficult to find. The amenities are sub par and the rooms are in desperate need of remodeling
The time I booked, all Oslo was booked, and that was the only reasonable option I could find. The bed was very uncomfortable. The location is really not for a tourist; it is outside Oslo.
nearby bus stop very bad breakfast buffet (empty bowles, no service, no refills, etc.)
I arrived late( 2Am), but staff was very kind. And when I leave early morning, staff arrange my breakfast.
Very comfortable, modern hotel with sleek design and spacious rooms. Relaxed atmosphere, lovely breakfast. Obviously Norway is an expensive country compared to the rest of Europe even, but the price we got was quite reasonable. No major complaints. We arrived very late and left fairly early.
Beautiful location. Rooms were very nice. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. Tight spaces driving in but we always found parking.
staff was amazing. the views are amazing. It is far from the airport. Probably have to pay $200 with taxi to get there but worth the money.
The foyer is amazing, very attractive, and the facilities generally are very nice. We found the staff helpful and pleasant. The food in the restaurant was excellent, especially the breakfast in the morning. There is a lovely walk from the hotel down around the bay and up into the town. The hotel is also incredibly close to what we were told was, the largest shopping mall in Scandinavia. It was about 10klm from the centre of Oslo and about 80 from Oslo Torp airport. Transport from the airport to the hotel and vice versa was very expensive. There are only 2 computers that are available for access which meant it was often difficult to find one to use, and when you were on you were frequently harrassed by other people.
Very comfortable bed. Spacious room. Friendly helpful staff Poor (temporary) breakfast facilities
Proximity to business district in Sandvika Windows opened to inner atrium of hotel - claustrophobic and airless - much prefer windows to outside of any building. Facilities good but a steam iron in room would be much preferable and more effective than a hot iron - also it was awkward with too short a cord threaded through ironing board. Who ( I ask ) is really going to steal an iron?? The room coffee maker had no operator instructions in English and I had no enjoyable coffee among several attempts - too much technology not enough basic good facility like a kettle and sachets of coffee. This technology glitch extended to the restaurant facility 2 mornings out of 3 when the coffee machine failed and I had to miss coffee again.
there is an amazing island nearby it's in between several noisy motorways.
very good breakfast and good location the room was too hot!!!! we hurry out as soon as possible. next time we deffenently want a room with a window........
First experience is with the receptionist who was very rude insisting I had not paid for both nights. I actually did not stay there, but had a friend from Germany, and this was handled in such a way that is caused much embarrasement for me and my guest. Will not choose Thon hotel in the future when my friend comes next month.
Everyone was nice and especially the breakfast staff. The hotel is also very quiet and very peacefull for late and lazy mornings.
It had a good location, handy for shops and transport links at local bus and train stations. The reception staff were very helpful. More variety for cooked breakfast.
A person who I was meeting with, was arriving late & I was able to arrange some food to be in his room when he arrived. (Past resteraunt closing time)
The room had plenty of space for the 2 extra beds for the children. The ordinary beds were very comfortable. Nice breakfast in a good restaurant. There was wireless internet in the hotel, but the use of the internet was charged by the provider (Telenor). I would prefer the internet to be free of charge.
Close to where i worked during the stay.
The hotel is in a very good position in the center of Ski. As iit is not the first time that we use the Thon hotel, it is now very familiar for us and we enjoyed their hospitality once more!
It really nice but little bit expensive. I hope the TV programm will be free of charge.
Compact, centrally situated and very close to train station and shopping centre. Quiet hotal with pleasant staff. i would have preferred car parking to be situated inside the hotel building complex.
Well connected by train and bus Hotel away from the main city Oslo.Nice and calm place to stay. Good for business trip to Norway.Food is good.Hotel staffs are very helpful and cordial.Would love to visit again. Have some good food dish selected for Vegetarian.
attitude of staffs, breakfast Parking charge
Close to Tysenfryd Too expensive
close to the shopping centre. Nice clean rooms. No service in the restaurant. Have to order your meal at the desk!
The open dining area with coffee and waffles, available during the afternoon, was a nice touch. The fact that all meals were included in the price was good, too. Limited choice of evening meal - just one hot course. Internet use needed WiFi scratch cards (which had to be collected from reception each morning and evening) - free, so why scratch cards?
The hotel was nice and the staff were very helpful No bad points really, just that for a british traveller the price is eye- wateringly expensive.
We found the member of staff on reception Lasse very helpful and polite it was also very nice having a buffett at the hotel FOC after a long journey. Would have liked a bigger bed
- Hard to find. Address not available on TomTom GPS. Parking very expensive. NOK 23,-/hour during both night and day... Nice, but really small rooms.
Coffee and tea at the room! Much noise, no individual thermostat in the room ( it was either hot or cold in the room), simple breakfast
Easy to do Expensive for the type of hotel (eg very small and with no facilities).
There was no food available until after 21:00 because the kitchen was busy with a big function on Saturday night and the kitchen was closed on Sunday night.
wonderful organic breakfast lights in bedroom didn't work properly
the landscape and the courtesy of housekeeping staff. the room was way to small, nearly no space between my side of the bed and the wall. the bathroom was incredible small as well, and the shower did not work properly. breakfast was not that fresh as expected.
The gas fire in the breakfast room was the best feature of the hotel. Asking for a 500 NOK deposit when I paid in cash. This was to "cover the trashing of the room" but at the check out the room was not inspected. I was ready to pay in full at arrival, but still wouldm have needed to pay deposit. So we settled on the 500 only. Weird.
showers in 2 rooms flooded the floor
Nice staff. Good food. Small room.
Breakfast very good choice, however the cooked items were cold, pillows were good The was not compleley refreshed during the day, and there used shampoo bottles left in the shower rack
location and access from highway when traveling by car entrance/hallways area somewhat run down
There was a good standard of food in the restaurant, especially for evening meals. Only one person on the front desk - had to wait, when checking out, for the phone to be answered (a 5 minute call from somebody needing information that had to be looked up, and then a booking).
Excellent breakfast - far better than expected, both choice and quality. Staff in the hotel was nice and responsive. Location is good. Hotel needs renovating - rooms are a bit worn out. Bathroom infrastructure was old: it took minutes to get the shower water temperature correct - and it kept varying also after that. One of our rooms had a really smelly bathroom - another room was offered, though - hotel staff was responsive and created solutions for the customer. Air conditioning would be a must - this hotel did not have that.
Good and silent. Polite service. Good breakfast. The girl in the reception mixed the rooms: She gave the bed for two to our friends (Men, normal) and separated bedt to me and my vife!
That it was located near the city centre + the price was not too bad. And the breakfast buffet is really nice! The hotel is a kinda old, and looks a bit "worn down".
It was a functional hotel. I appreciated that you could bring dogs and especially without paying extra fees.
Very convenient location for the centre of Drammen. The decor of the restaurant and bar area was very nice. Breakfast was excellent with a very wide range of offerings. No tea and coffee making equipment in room.
The breakfast did not open before 07.30 , that's a bit late for business travellers
Clean, good value for money, good breakfast, kind staff The address is not recognized by gps
The room is very great. The breakfast is huge and with lot of different meals. The staff is not efficient.
Very helpful staff, nice location, excellent breakfast
like the lake, facility, scenery too far n transport are a problem
Beautifull vieuw, spacious room (suite) good breakfast buffet, splendid restaurant good winecard. close to Son, very pretty place. Breakfast only till 9.30 during the week and on friday till 10.30, nothing is translated to english not even the menu'S. Standardrooms beds are very small so took a suite, nok 1000 p/day more !!! wich is Euro 125 per nite extra, got a discount for nok 500 only .
The room was good size, kitchen/living room and separate bedroom. Room was located right at the waterfront so great views from the balcony and bedroom full wall size window on the sea side. The hotel was not worth the price even in Norwegian price standards. With these rates you would imagine you get proper towels, shampoos etc. especially in a spa hotel. This was not the case. Also, the kitchen in the room was equiped only with 3 glasses and 3 cups. That's all!! All the cupboards was screwed shut. Overall I think the management should have a look in other hotels to see what this price can offer in terms of quality. Great potential but unfortunatelly not very well thought through. Details, details..... Might sound picky but with these prices you can be picky.
parking some level you room, spa is great. night life in the middle of the outside restaurant is very laud. The spa lose at 7pm, which is to early.
quiet location and really good pizzas. difficult to get around without car.
The extensive choices of food for breakfast. The beds were comfortable, but really quite small for 2 people.
Good location if traveling by car on the way to Oslo. The rooms away from the highway are quiet. Free parking. Breakfast was good. Generally hotels in Scandinavia are relatively expensive and poor value, and it's rather difficult to find anything much better for the same price. The bathroom walls were not very clean. No lock at the bathroom door - this may cause inconveniences if traveling with small kids. Internet costs extra (unlike our other 7 hotels in Scandinavia during a recent trip).
Big rooms, good staff. A very nice hotel. No family rooms so I had to book two rooms. The floors hadn't been cleaned and rubbish from the previous occupants was still in the room.
The room was clean and good. The restaurant food was good. Internet was provided which was good. There was Bus facility just outside the Hotel, which was nice. The room was too small for two persons. The bathroom door did not have a lock. The price can be a little lower.
The quite place where the hotel is located. No services at the bar...one lady was not enough and of course was not her fault.
the breakfast selection was excellant and the location nice
They had a super breakfast and plenty of room.
Excellent Staff Very Helpful. Good Rhural Location. Beautiful Beach Nearby. Highly Reccomemded I would have like Tea / Coffee Facilities in Room and Maybe the Shuttle Bus could have travelled to the center around mid day
Free coffee or tea to go accessible in the lobby. Breakfast started at 07:00, would have been better if it started at 06:00
