Staff were helpful, room and bathroom were clean, breakfast was quite good - good selection, and there was an informal and relaxed atmosphere. Good car parking facility. The hotel - and therefore all public facilities - closed at 9.0 p.m - e.g. no bar open after that time. The room was a bit smaller than we had expected, but the bathroom was a reasonable size. It was a bit more of a walk to the restaurants than we had expected.
Very friendly and helpful.
Friendly staff, good breakfast, nice and clean rooms. Nice walk to st.Goustan (ca 12 min.) I really liked the place.
Our room at the back of the hotel looked out onto the grounds so it was quiet. There was plenty of space and it was very clean. It is away from the crowds but not too far from the beach and we liked Auray and especially the port.
Our double room was comfortable and quiet and the bed had a good mattress, the staff was friendly; good breakfast buffet, calm environment, good location for trips by car to Côte Sauvage, Carnac, Vannes, etc.
Staff we felt were exceptional, very helpfull and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Heaters weren't working. Would of appreciated tea making facilities
Very helpful, pleasant staff. It was clean and comfortable Breakfast very poor value, with lack of choice, compared with others we have had for the same price in similar hotels in France.
lovely clean and friendly place parking for motorbikes 15 min walk along river to port and bars loved the place
child friendliness of the hotel as we had two children under 3 years of age no
Quiet location & easy access Time switch on corridor lights could have been more generous
Leaving! We had booked a triple room as we were travelling with our daughter. Unfortunately we were given two rooms on different floors ! We showed our booking form which clearly stated a triple room but were informed that there wasn't one available. This impacted on our stay in such a fundamental way that we did not use any of the hotel's facilities - in particular we didn't eat in the restaurant, The staff member with which we dealt with was very dismissive of our complaint and could only just about manage a very inadequate apology.
Its location and style - not up to normal Ibis standard
The staff. Breakfast was good. Restaurant closed all weekend.
The staff were friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. It restored my faith in Ibis hotels which took a battering
A beautiful location, good food and welcoming proprietors. We booked for four nights and stayed for seven.
The staff was very nice and welcoming. I arrived late and they were waiting for me and got me right up to my room with ease. The room was very pretty and clean and breakfast was very good.
Excellent cuisine beautifully presented Public rooms tastefully designed and bedrooms clean and comfortable Breakfast a little expensive (9.5€) and being closed for dinner on a Sunday was a (minor) inconvenience
we found the hotel to be a very well appointed, quiet and comfortable place to stay. Our meal there was delicious.
We like small quiet hotels and the Alicia is exactly that. The rooms whilst smallish are perfectly comfortable hotel kept very clean by unobtrusive staff. The food was excellent but it would be better if the menu for the evening was displayed together with the cost at reception in the morning. we certainly would have eaten there more often had we realised how reasonable theemeals were. The view from our balcony was stunning (rooom 5). There are complaints on the web about the alicia hotel but it is a good 2 star hotel with 4star food and 5 star location.
Nice and modern hotel, well up to date. Close enough to a very cosy harbour. A bit noisy outside from the cafe in the night.
The Breakfast room was attractive and well appointed and the Breakfast menue was good The room allocated to us was very small indeed and you could not fully open the door into the toilet in which even shaving was difficult due to the lack of room.We had booked a Comfort Plus room but doubt that this type of room was allocated to us.
Friendliness of owners, central for Brittany exploration, walking distance of town and port.(extended our stay by 2 nights)
Good location near downtown Auray, but a bit far from the train station. Helpful staff and good breakfast. We stayed here to catch a bus to Karnac to see the megaliths. Auray itself is charming, particularly the area across the bridge and the Quai Franklin (so named because Ben used this tiny port in 1776 on his semi-secret mission to wangle aid for the revolutionaries in our war of independence). The hotel is a little more than a mile from the train station; we made the walk, with bags, but most people won't go that far. There is bus service and cabs, but infrequently, as Auray is a small town. The bus to Karnac/centre ville gets you to within about a 20-minute walk of the megaliths, and the megaliths themselves go on for more than a mile, I would guess, so be prepared for some walking. There is a tourist train you can catch and the Maison de Megaliths, but we were told this just does a drive-by without stopping, so we walked. It's a good walk.
Close to Carnac
Very helpful staff and excellent location within the town of Auray. It would have been nice if the hotel had a lift, but we were given a first-floor room and the staff were quite helpful in getting our bags up to our room.
the location was good for our purpose. The decor was lovely; very trendy and boutique styled. Breakfast was more than ample for 8 euros and was served until 11am (great for a long sleep in!). It was also helpful being able to get lunch or snacks in the bar area. Those meals were great value and large in size. the hotel is in walking distance to the port area, which is lovely. there is also a market on the street one day a week. The staff were very nice and could speak english if needed. There are also hairdryers in the room, which was not mentioned in the room description. Our room and bathroom was lovely, very clean. no air conditioning in the rooms. we had to leave our window open which meant the room was very noisy as it faced onto the street. we were offered a change of room if we wanted, but we were already unpacked and settled so decided to stay where we were. My friends, who were in other rooms said the noise was not a problem for them, but one friend had a very small room, which they were unhappy about. Our room was reasonable in size, another friend's was much bigger.
Staff were accommodating and welcoming, would happily stay there again
Brreakfast good and parking Decor dreadful
The courtesy of the manager. She remained awake until midnight as we had been delayed and then ensured that my travelling companion was able to have a tub of yogurt and bottled water. Not many would take the trouble that she did. I cannot fault the Hotel Robic. It was wonderfully quiet and comfortable and the beds in the rooms allowed us to sleep like babes
Superb cuisine, beautiful surroundings, charming staff, and lovely decor! None!
Amazing location. Very good but not overbearing service. Good food. Lovely rooms.
Lovely views of the river and lovely grounds. The staff (one of them anyway, the rest were nice) was very rude on check-in and the first night. It was clear that we were a nuisance rather than valued guests since we had our 3 year old son with us. When we asked about the dinner it my wife was sneered at and given the code for the door so we could come in after 11 at night as a 3 year old obviously could not be in the dining room. While the castle is nice, the rooms are starting to need renovation, e.g. the modern bath is not so modern anymore and quite run down.
the atmosphire, the gardens and the chateau are charming
Location was very nice, with good views. It was a bit noisy, also bathroom tiles had mouldy grout and towel had someone's hair in it.
Tranquility, Escapism, Location, Cuisine (Have already recommended it) Broken/cracked glass shelf in bathroom
Th food was divine It was Autumn so there were not so many facilities for my son, however we loved the estury and the woods.
Excellent room (junior suite) and most attractive view out over the park and water. Decor in very good condition but some of the curtains/carpets were not complimentary. Food of very high standard as would be expected with a Michelin star and service of a prompt, very willing and personalised nature without being intrusive. Situated in its own 120 hectares of woodland the outside world did not seem to exist. Old wooden floors reverbrated to movements in the room above. Shutters closed every night with echoing sounds - opening in the morning made sure that you were not late for breakfast ! - To be expected in a building of that age. Towels were far too small to dry satisfactorily without the help of a towelling robe. The jaccussi bath not a good idea for elderly joints - some form of hand holds to assist entry/exit would be an advantage. Being of greater age, it would be nice to think that there may be plans to install a passenger lift to encourage a further visit.
The room is big, clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly. I like the food in the restaurant too. My room faces the road and you can hear the vehicles passing during early morning. But the situation was not too bad.
Nicely furnished mid-priced hotel in good location.Rooms are spacious and furniture is "retro-style". Receptionist on arrival showed complete lack of interest in guests - but her releif the following day was very friendly.Breakfasts are a big disappointment.
This was an amazing find. Would have happily paid double the ammount for the room we were given. beautiful decor and a wonderful meal. We would drive out of our way to be able to stay here and eat here again. A logis 'table d'excellence" hotel. Perfect !
The receptionist was ice cold and the room looked as someone has been there before us. We found cigarette butts at the balcony table. The hotel offers a small box of traditional biscuits but our box was empty !!! (someone has eaten ours and left the empty box ! )
Everything - the staff were very accommodating and friendly and the hotel, rooms and facilities were excellent. We were really happy we chose this hotel and will definitely stay there again on our next visit to Brittany. Nothing
Hotel was nicely located, with friendly/helpful staff. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was excellent
car parking, value for money
Very pretty atmosphere, good carpark. Wifi acces is a problem, receving from the signal is variabal, between noting and a little in our room, other rooms should be better? The breakfast was very poor, no fresch bread, self finished from the supermarket. No fruit, no cheese or meat, only sweet products.
Attractive exterior and room was clean and spacious. Car parking was straightforward. Friendly staff. Breakfast was very poor for the price. I thought they had cleared the food away when I went in!
I booked a three bed room and was given a double and single bed. I would have preferred a twin bed and a single bed
The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome No tea and coffee or hairdryer in room
The freindliness and helpfulness of the staff and also the attched restaurant which served very good food. No Sky TV in rooms as all tv channels were French so unless you spoke fluant French the tv was useless.
Very reasonably priced Inexperienced front desk staff
Good breakfast. Friendly and efficient staff. Comfortable rooms with good bathroom. Very clean and tidy. Thin walls. I could hear someone a few rooms away put the tv on n the middle of the night.
Friendly staff Difficult to find using sat nav, it took us down a dreadfully poor to get there
friendly and helpful staff, brochure available for further Hotel Ibis-
Quality of the ensuite and quality of the food in the restaurant Nothing
the breakfeast in the Etap was very poor and we paid the extra 3 euros to eat in the Ibis next door.
the staff were very helpful ,even with my very poor grasp of the french language we had breakfast for the first 2 mornings at the ibis next door ,excellant,on the tuesday morning what a let down as breakfast was at the etap, there is no comparison
