The hotel is just 10 minutes walk to the Grotto.
locality and staff
The location to Lourdes, very central. The people who worked there were nice. rooms were extremely out of date, not value for money! I think if i was in the newer part of the hotel it would have been ok. Cheap covers on the bed, dated wallpaper, orange carpet on the walls. Clean, but definitely 30 years since last changed. The cleaners knocked at 7.30am! I stayed in Lourdes last year in Mariale and this was only 53 euro a night for a brand new studio with kitchen
The place was pretty, the rooms were clean and the hotel food was exceptional! Everything was just as expected!
Great location for first time tourist to the Lourdes Grotto
Proximity to the Basilica of Immaculate Conception/Grotto and shopping. Lack of amenities and hotel scent.
room is newly renovated and well equipped (with hair dryer). staff is very helpful
Very friendly and helpful staff. So close to the Grotto.
The location to the Lourdes Sanctuary was excellent. Close to the gates. Many pilgramage groups and tour buses but we didn't feel it was crowded. The front desk was very helpful and attentive in answering questions and helping us with a security box. The hotel was clean and well maintained. The bathrooms are large and updated. The linens were a little worn and there were no shampoos or soaps in the bathrooms so it was a good thing we brought some. All in all it was a good stay for the short two nights. The restaurant was fair. The breakfast was not worth the 8Euro that was charged. The breakfast consisted of coffee from a push button machine, one type of cheese, one type of cold cut, dry breads, canned fruit salad and milk, tea, juice. One part of the dining room was set up for groups and the other end of the room for others. The service differed on each side. The group reservation side received cloth napkins and servers to attend them. On the side I was on with my family we had to get our napkins at the service table and they were only paper and no one attended to us at all.
Location - convenient for town centre. Poor quality furnishings - looked like stuff thrown out of someone's home. Very poor breakfast. Parking difficult with limited close to hotel.
excellent location for exploring pau and for restaurants shops etc
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the quality of the room and the breakfast was good. We liked the traditional atmosphere and the personal approach of the staff. The air conditioning was not very good, as it was a very noisy free-standing unit.
Bedroom decor was a little strange.
good sized rooms, clean, central location, close to chateau, restaurants etc, free pool table!
The hotel was convenient to the Station and some of the other wonderful scenery. We found the breakfast was excelent. The staff was wonderful.
The pleasant helpful staff - the spaciousness of the room and bathroom, the proximity to the castle. The cleanliness.
its location and friendly staff I was in room 35 .Very little natural light. Could not take a shower as all the water would end up on the floor. No curtains on the window of the bathroom . Not enough towels. The quality of the pillows is poor as well as the sheets. No smoking room available.
The location was great, the room was spacious and nice with a huge bathroom. Free Wi-Fi was useful. Have not used the restaurant so cannot comment on it.
Extremely central location, beautiful room and bathroom and a lovely receptionist !! The rather unwelcoming attitude from one of the guests upon our arrival and inspection of the rooms. He warned us that we'd better be quiet when returning to our rooms later that night. He was smoking in the corridors when we had been told it was no smoking throughout.
Location It did not live up to the description on the site, It was a bit dated, shabby (not dirty), hot, small and not what we were expecting. We did not want to spend time in the small rooms.
Clean, spacious Rear of hotel, dark, looking on to a walled-in roof area. We had requested a room to front of hotel. Disappointed.
remodeled room is well decorated location
nice & quiet At certain times can't get in the hotel without a code
The friendliness and cleanliness. The outside noise was unbearable and if there was air conditioning in the rooms we could have closed the windows and slept through the night.
The freindliness and helpfullness of the staff was amongst the best I have experienced in all my experiences of hotels both for leisure and business trips.
I like the cleanliness of the room, working of the shower, and the friendliness of the staff. Also I liked the closeness to Lourdes holy church and easy access to it from the hotel.
The friendly staff The foyer lighting is dim and might also benefit from a coat of paint! Would recommend it on price and helpful staff
clean beds & clean towels every day staff lovely. rooms could do with make over very old fashioned
I was disappointed. No airconditioning for a 3 star hotel??? It was summer and quite warm. Plus the room and bathroom didn't smell good. The only consolation we had (4 of us in one small room) was that it was worth mortifying while we were in Loudes.
Taking in account the pecularity of the destination and the focus on receiving big groups of sometimes disabled persons this hotel is able to give a pesonalised service to the individual traveler. (I was probably the only one there at the moment).
Staff are fantastic, very helpful and always willing to help out at all costs. Food is "too good". Let me explain, whilst the food (main menu options) are super they are too much 'nouvelle cuisine'. It would be great if the hotel could serve a more 'rustic' menu offering typical local cuisine. I prefer 'normal' down to earth dishes rather than top of the range items.
Family oriented, friendly staff & proximity to the Grotto, easy walking distance. We satyed in this hotel 5 yrs. ago, this is the reason why we came back. You have improved so much with your services.
close to the Grotte, just walking distance
The convenience of its position in Lourdes. The staff were all charming and helpful The resaraunt was pretentious and overpriced
All was satisfactory, but the breakfast options were expensive, so we ate at a cafe over the road.
The location was excellent and the hotel staff very friendly and helpful. The room was smaller than expected, more in line with a 3 star hotel than a 4 star. We were at the back overlooking an alley so it would be worth requesting views over the river as they are lovely.
The restaurant service was good but the food below expectations
I loved its contemporary design and deco. From the hotel lobby right down to the room. I requested for a room on the highest floor and with a great view and they gave us a great room with a truly beautiful view of the mountains...even from the bathroom! The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and wonderful to chat with.
Room was spacious and comfortable. Location was perfect. Near to everything.
It's location. Some of the staff very helpful
The room was serviced regularly and the reception staff were helpful. The continental breakfast is rather basic. They only serve one croissant and a hard bread roll. Some tables were given biscuits some were not. When I asked one of the staff if I could have my croissant toasted because it was such a cold morning I was told that they do not do that, no oven or toaster.
Very central Breakfast could be better, with some cooked hot food.
staff were very friendly and helpful. the view of the city from the hotel is beautiful. hotel has outdoor pool and areas to relax (indoor and outdoor), which oversee the city not much sound proofing, which made it very noisy. the plumbing is very noisy and kept us awake
The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them, all spoke english, and they went out out their way to help us.
Good Location The breakfast was very poor
It was very conveniently situated and the English-speaking breakfast waitress kindly helped direct me to and write a French note to a local garage proprietor to explain that I needed a slow puncture fixed They had only one croissant left when I and my wife arrived - last - for breakfast. They explained that young men who `had breakfast earlier "ate the lot" and they hadn't time to top up. Also the cereals choice was disappointing.
The staff were so very kind and helpful. it was truly appreciated.
The kind, helpful staff
The excellent service of the reception staff.
Hotel staffs are good English speakers and gave us very useful information for sightseeing. Location is good for especially car users. The room is minimalist but comfortable enough.
Thiery, his brother and English speaking Charlotte were extremely helpful, giving us a map, instructions on how to get to the special attractions, even helping us to decide on the evening menu.We paid an extra 6 euros to have secure parking for the car, which was well worth it. We left the car in the secure garage and walked everywhere.Managed to get free wireless internet in our room, a bonus. A1 The hotel is named Hotel de la Vallee with Citotel on a small board which caused a few problems finding it..
The Hotel was very inviting by the reception we received, they were very helpful with our enquiries to the place we wanted to visit nothing. all was ok
cleanliness of hte rooms and friendliness of staff corridors a little gloomy
Very friendly and professional reception, good position in the city, free internet Hotel room is very basic, old, not corresponding 3 star hotel, 2 stars would be more fair
Excellent location Staff very helpfull
I liked the view of the river next to the hotel The double room was too litle, imagine the single one; it isn't that close to the sanctuary and the map to get there is not clear
The hotel staff The room was not well heated the first two days after my arrival
Being in Lourdes for our diocesan pilgrimage
Friendly atmosphere. No
Good that it was open in the off season; good food; friendly helpful staff I thought the rooms needed a bit of improvement
It was a memorable experience during my 1st stay sometime in Jan 2009, which prompted me to come back. This time around there was no 3 person room, thereferore we called your hotel and also have put in a remark on-line booking informing that we need addittional bedding for one room when opted for the doubles room. no
They provide us a room good for four while there was only the 3 of us and the room had 2 washrooms and showers. The midniht to morning staff was not very friendly maybe because of the language barrier - kind of abrupt when talking to us. The small restaurant dd not have serving tongs or clip for the bread.
It was a good bed. The reception staff were unhelpful and curt.
the food in the restaurant is very good. The boss is very friendly and even gave us some free wine for Christmas. definitely a choice. Not applicable
Staff very pleasant on arrival, I was sent accross the road to a neigbour hotel. not as nice looking as teh reception hotel. I must say that for 25euro for a comfortable bed each not it wasn't bad. I have paid 90 euro in other hotels for much less comfort.. It was just like a hostel.
Parking available. Right in centre of Lourdes Could do with decorating
Enjoyed our stay in your hotel. Management so helpful and we certainly enjoyed the tea and most importantly your lovely wine. Nothing that I could think of
It is like a hostel!!
Proximity to grotto, town, etc, & delicious food. Inconsideration of other guests - very noisy at all times during the night. Also, room was a bit small
nothing the walls were paper thin.people in the hotel were very noisey
This hotel was very good value for money - the staff were lovely and the location very central.
Everything was great, the hotel staff were great and very helpfull.
Ideal position for central Lourdes and visiting the Grotto. Very quirky and extremely old but still pleasantly clean and relatively comfortable. We had our 20 month old son with us and had requested a cot, when we arrived she said it would be a few hours until they had one available, they actually had gone and bought a brand new travel cot as the one they had was already being used. Excellent service from a 2 star hotel. Noisy on an evening from both road noise and inside the hotel, apart from that everything else was fine.
Great staff. Quiet location. Bathroom very cramped. Needs smaller sink, corner shower would allow more room than the bathtub with shower fitting.
The cleanliness of the room wasn't the best and the smell of smoke was very intense.
Self service check-in for late arrivals
Little bit far from central (by bus about 10 min.) but room was clean and staff were friendly and nice. Breakfast buffet was also nice. There is big supermarket in front of the hotel, was very helpful.
Very friendly and helpful staff, good choice at buffet breakfast, larger than average room for a budget hotel The bed was a bit hard and we only had one very tiny/thin pillow each - I know this is normal for France, but it isn't normal for me and in most places there are spare pillows tucked away in wardrobles etc.
Nice room, good price
I arrived late and as the reception closes at 11pm the staff member had written a long note to me and placed it on the office door with very clear instructions on how to self-checkin, once in my room I found that they had printed a copy of my receipt and placed it there incase I had to continue on my journey before the office opened! Amazing, someone was thinking of everything! Thankyou!
Friendly, helpful staff. The nearby Tex-Mex restaurant is good. A good budget hotel. Location is quiet but nothing, except the nearby restaurant, within walking distance.
Extremely clean. Quiet. Very helpful, friendly and pleasant staff. Excellent value for money.
basic but comfortable. staff friendly & helpful. excellant mexican restaurant next door.
The worst hotel I´ve ever been! Never again
Staff, Location, good value for money No
politness of staff cleanliness and central
It was near the train station. Bathroom shower too small for a normal sized person. There was no space/dispenser for soap and shampoo. Bathroom simply too small.
Absolutely nothing Being set upon by a large dog as we got out of taxi, "balcony" was a 6 inch parapet that ran the whole width of hotel with no divisions or privacy, therefore no security, filled with cigarette butts, empty drink containers, "balcony" should read "gutter". On main road, incessant traffic and noise. Shutter and windows not always operative.
The hotel was clean but was too small for three beds. Staff are warm and friendly. Location is excellent because it is very near shops, transport and The Grotto. I will certainly recommend this hotel to friends.
