it was a overnight stay but we found the town bizzy with plenty of bars and coffee shops
The staff were very kind and helpful - the value for money in the restaurant was excellent and the food was generally superb. The rooms are spacious and the free wi-fi made a real change from having to pay through the nose for this service, The free sauna/gym/jacuzzi were also a major plus point. Non-Spanish speaking travellers should be aware the staff spoke very little English and the people leaing the bar were very noisy on one night of my stay.
This is a very special place. The owners/innkeepers are wonderful and they run a fabulous inn near San Sabastian/Donestia. Every detail is well thought out to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. nothing
Amazing breakfast, lovely rooms and fantastic staff
The hotel had beautiful artwork and elegant surroundings, a wonderful combination of the old and new. We also enjoyed the quiet countryside. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was great.
Good atmosphere. Comfortable and beautiful room. Very good staff service. Beautiful building, landscape and garden. Breakfast buffet very aceptable. Recommended Hotel for relax
It was amazingly designed, you could tell that whoever designed it knew what they were doing. A nice mix of modern and antique design + nice landscaping. I paid 109Euros and felt like it was worth every penny. Nothing.
Beautifully restored hotel with very nice furniture located outside a small village not too far from Pyrenees and San Sebastian. Rooms are very comfortable and hotel is quiet. Very helpfull staff which speaks good English (and one person even Dutch). The restaurant serves a limited menu with items which are below what you expect in such a hotel. The rooms are around 10-20% overpriced compared to likewise hotels we stayed.
Hotel is an aesthetic treat to the eyes, down to the smallest details. Looks like authentic castle, with all refined modern comfort. a. Difficulty in locating hotel, even with GPS, in a region where no soul is in sight at 7p.m. Suggest adding a few road signs. b. If anything, hotel is a little over manicured and tidy. Every single leaf is in place. A beautiful museum room is not the place where you like to plump down and read.
a stunning and relaxing place to stay. friendly staff and lovely food. liked everything - but it was a bit hard to find.
Staff was very helpful on locating sites to visit. Free parking was available nearby on the street.
The rooms are comfortable. I didn't like the breakfast room. It is a bar in the basement and it is allowed to smoke. The included breakfast is only a coffee, a juice, and a pastry. Additionally, I had troubles with the WIFI.
very good and nice hotel!
Clean & comfortable, dinner was very good value - an excellent meal everything included. Location right on a busy dual carriageway was very off-putting, but our fears were groundless as even in the dead of night all that could be heard was a faint hum of traffic. Breakfast pretty ordinary.
Lovely setting, room and staff. Space in guest fridge and use of dining room and living room. Hard to find, though that's not unusual in a hilly village. Locals will point the way for you!
Quietness, calm environment and the hospitality no TV
Nice and quiet environment. Frendly staff. Poor Communication ability in English.
Very friendly owner, very beautiful and quiet area, close to major cities, free wifi in public rooms. the walls are very thin and you can hear every noise like flushing a toilet, but there was a "time of absolute silence" between midnight and 8 pm which was nice
Very friendly people, they only speak Spanish but do their utmost to make themselves understandable. Room is clean but too small, would recommend not to stay more than 2 nights, there is no tv nor radio and no coffee/tea making facilities. Would like to have facility without extra costs to make coffee/tea. Breakfast was ok but too expensive for what it is.
Very friendly owners. Everything you need was available.
Rosa & Miquel were delightful hosts. The rooms were comfortable and quiet and the surroundings were beautiful. The evening meal we had was home cooked and delicious. A full length mirrot somewhere would have been useful.
Although a bit lost in the countryside, this is a good place to stay: not too far from the beaches and, if you like walking and hilly countryside, this is for you. The staff were friendly and helpful. A bit difficult to find (Tom Tom ...) on arrival and the owners only speak Spanish and Basque but we coped.
A good-sized modern appartment - very clean with very good kitchen facilities. Very friendly hosts. Facilities in the village including great bread and croissants. Possible limitations are that the appartment has no balcony, and the only toilet is not separate to the bathroom. These didn't detract significantly from a very enjoyable stay.
the quiet place and the comfortable beds We did not like the following: Rudeness of bar staff, poor dinner menu, very stodgy food, so-so breakfast, horrid orange juice, the fact that the bar shut at 22.58, the atmosphere which was between an old folks home and a convent school, the plastic bags and other rubbish entangled in the river, the weeds in the front area, etc
Liked the location, just outside a beautiful town. Hotel was clean, modern and no reservations desk just a self check in which is ideal for people travelling and arriving at their leisure
it was close to highway, it was good priced. It was on the route, we had big room modern hotel
As a traveller heading back to UK from Portugal it provided ideal stopover facilities. The bonus was the town itself, a short walk away that had plenty of bars and restaurants. Lack of secure car parking. Lack of any staff (electronic entry) was strange, but the welcome drinks in room fridge made up for it.
The management was very friendly and very correct. Very clean hotel. The grocery and restaurant on the ground floor are very convenient for the hotel guests like myself.
Practical location for road travellers
clean and comfortable, very quiet location I booked for two people on booking no.165419442,but the system only allowed one !! your system needs revising I would not use you again !
neat and clean
Wonderfully welcoming staff. Gorgeous bathroom (weird comment, but it was great). Well, be warned, smoking is still acceptable all over Spain. It was pretty overwhelming in the dining room.
I wanted a hotel that would break up a long journey and this hotel was in the right place. The location is stunning, on the side of a mountain with great views, just outside the town of Mondragon which you need to drive through to get to the hotel. Could be difficult if you were using a map but the sat nav took me straight to the front door. The rooms are large and of a standard you would expect in a classy city centre hotel and have wifi or plug-in internet access. The bar is small and do snacks and although I didn't use the restaurant I was told it was a bit expensive. Breakfast is included but don't expect too much, if I had paid extra for it I would have been very disappointed. Good value for money at €50. Make sure you learn a little Spanish as the staff didn't speak any English on my two visits.
The location and ambience of this hotel was excellent. The dinner was great and staff excellent
Lovely bright and clean rooms. Out of town so no noise from pubs etc Staff efficient friendly, restaurant good value.Great selections of essentials in the bathroom. Difficult to find even with gps bed a bit too hard for liking
Excellent hotel and staff. Excellent value for money. We will go there again Breakfast Buffet was not too good. No eggs, bacon etc. and not enough pastry.
The hotel was in the mountains, overlooking Mondragon. It had lovely views of the town and neighbouring mountains. The hotel was very modern inside, beautiful big rooms, great bar (with fantastic prices), and the evening meal was brilliant. Lots of countryside to explore, but sitting out on the terrace overlooking the town with a glass of wine was lovely. My two young girls enjoyed the playground also, and there was plenty of space to play. We were only there for one night, but could easily have stayed a week. Highly recommended. None whatsoever.
The hotel is obviously new and the decor is lovely and fresh. The rooms are very spacious, light and airy. There are lovely views and is in a quiet position. Although the staff don't speak english, they do have their restaurant menus in more than one language which was helpful - the food selection wasn't huge and was quite basic, but it was nice food. We booked this hotel as a stop off on a longer journey and our choice was based on the availability of private onsite parking. It is a bit of a pain to find and up steep hills (not good if you have a trailer!)
The whole experience was simply great. Extremely enjoyable. Nothing
Está bien, es lo que se espera en esta categoría.
i liked the fact that everything was spotlessly clean and very comfortable
Wonderful surprise and the best of all the hotels booked through your service. No.
To begin the staff is fantastic, especially Edurne who was a very pleasant to speak with as well as extremely helpful. The rooms are located in a quiet location in a beautiful town. If traveling through Leitza I would recommend you stay here! Nothing
The view of the countryside from the private patio of our room was amazing. The room itself was clean and comfortable and the washroom facilities were excellent. The staff were very helpful and pleasant.
Clean and comfortable Basic Hostel rather than a hotel
Great staff.Nice town,friendly people.Glad we didn't miss this area.
The rooms were fabulous, big light and beautifully decorated. The staff were polite, friendly and really made us feel at home. The food was great although the 'crusted veal snout' one of our party ordered will forever be remembered! None.
Beautiful places with artistic design and interior. Great to see the antique style. I want to pay with cash but need to pay credit card. It's bad for me.
it was good as a design the floor noisy, the bed noisy. and at the balcony the view and the small was terrible.
We had trouble finding the hotel due to not taking full details of how to get there - so when we arrived we were quite tired and on first impressions it dod look very 'rustic'. But the rooms were beautiful and very comfortable. Our room was very large and well decorated. Our shower room was actually in the orignial stone walls - very impressive! We opted for the 12 euro evening meal which was excellent. The food was clearly all cooked and prepared freshly each day. In fact when were trying to find the hotel and asked several people they all knew where it was and reccomended the restaurent. Not really - we were in what could only be described as the attic room which was lovely, but you did have to climb some highly polished wooded stairs to get their. which in very high heels and after an excellent bottle of wine could prove problematic! We only had one bedside lamp - but that is probably being a bit picky!
Friendly staff and hosts, who spoke english, good food and wine - excellent service. Fixed price menu for 12 Euros - including wine. Childrens play area. Would have liked a comfortable chair in the room, although there were comfortable sofas in the lounge area, immediately outside the bedrooms. Breakfast was a little disapointing.
Staff kindness & client-care. Industrial premises in the neighborhood.
The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were superb. The decor original and stunning. The food was excellent, although some sort of vegetables with the main course would have been desirable. The factory next door - but that is not the fault of the Hotel!
