Pros: Excellent hospitality. Wonderful breakfast. Nice to be a video star:)
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We felt like royals. 2 persons always at our service, long fantastic dinners with classical music and great wines in dining room of the castle. Very quiet night.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We chose this property as it was close to the Voie Sacré & what a find! We booked it at lunch time on a Sunday, on arriving at the chateau in the early evening we realised it would be impossible to find somewhere to eat. But Frédéric & Marie put our minds at ease & we sat down to a 4 course delicious meal with a wonderful selection of wines. What a repast! Made al the better for being unexpected as we were such late arrivals! As for breakfast?! We didn’t need a lunch it was so generous. The chateau is quirky with lots of historical touches & a wonderful chatty host & a chef who loves her job.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The room was amazing and the home cooked evening meal and breakfast were fantastic
Cons: Nothing everything was excellent
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The Chateau was an unexpected delight: in an idyllic setting, idiosyncratically furnished, with a single, extremely comfortable bedroom, copious and delightful light meals featuring regional specialties prepared by the proprietor, who, with his wife, were charming, helpful and very welcoming. Somewhat off the beaten track, but very well worth a detour. I will certainly re-visit!
Cons: Only the weather!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The level of service provided by Marie and Frederic was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Dinner and breakfast were delicious examples of home-cooking. The Chateau was fascinating with a Napoleonic presence!
Cons: Everything was fine so no criticisms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional hosts, kind and considerate - a super experience.
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Our stay at the chateau and interaction with the hosts was one of the best experiences in our 5 trips to Europe over the last 15 years. The chateau was museum like in its presentation of it's history, and the local area's history. The room was very spacious and well appointed. The bathroom was spotless and luxurious. The meals prepared by our host Marie and served by Frederic were a real example of French cuisine, not to mention the wine..... Marie and Frederic were exceptional hosts and really made the end of our trip one to remember.
Cons: Leaving.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The chateau or what you see of it is lovely and the owners very friendly and helpful. It's quiet and peaceful and comfortable and very good for a relaxing overnight stay
Cons: The booking.com site is misleading as this is not a hotel but a room at the owners home where they cook and serve a meal so there is no choice of food and payment is in cash. You are also not told the cost of any of it but just given a bill in the morning .Whilst it was lovely anyone booking needs to be aware of exactly what it is.We were left with no money as we do not carry much and usually pay for everything on cash so had to spend time the next day finding a cash machine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely friendly hosts, grand interiors, quiet location. A very cozy place to stay.
Cons: WiFi was not working, but it was not a big problem

Pros: The bed was large and comfortable. The bathroom was very nice. The hostess was kind and friendly. The homemade marmalade was wonderful. The hostess' English is very limited, but she is willing to work with communicating, using on-line translation. Florent-en-Ardennes is a very small town. It is very quiet.
Cons: I can't think of anything below standard. The breakfast was typical European fare, probably too simple for most American tastes, but it is France.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly welcome, superb rooms and stunning gardens.
Cons: Breakfast was at an additional cost and was extortionate at 60 euros for the 4 of us. Although it was freshly baked bread and homemade preserves, it was over priced for what it was. The village lacks a restaurant although we did find a lovely little cafe which was open and had a good choice of salads, pizzas and pasta dishes.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Grounds are lovely, room was nicely decorated
Cons: 15 Euro extra per Night for my dog felt expensive, probably should be transparent about this at time of booking.

Pros: Host is lovely and extremely helpful. Breakfast excellent. Location couldn't be better. Room small but comfortable. Same bathroom very quiet. So many more good things including outdoor pool, lake etc etc.

Pros: A friendly hostess in a tiny town in the heart of the WWI battlefields. Great value for comfortable accommodations and a very nice and ample breakfast.
Cons: Not a luxurious place but I enjoyed by stay and it was just what I was expecting and looking for.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hostess who will give you a very warm welcome put a lot of love in the B&B. Our room and the breakfast room showed an eye to detail for decoration. The breakfast was good, typically French (sweet) with good coffee, home-made French toast and fresh bread. The WWI site “Butte de Vauquois” is in walking distance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property setting throws you back a hundred years, and it is ideal for someone wanting to visit Verdun or Meuse-Argonne. It sits within 500 meters of a sensational military sight showing the evil genius of war at Bitte Vauquois. The town has 8 houses; maybe 9? It is gorgeous. A country 20 minute drive from Meuse-Argonne... The breakfast is French fare, and Veronica is a wonderful host. The accommodations are clean and country chic with flashes of modern. It’s very nice.

6.8 Good
Pros: Good breakfast, though coffee thin. Good restaurant in nearby hotel.
Cons: Very fancy shower, but with loose fittings. Wash-basin: blocked waste. No light to shave by. No stand for suitcase, even in double room. No welcome. If the door-bell worked, no-one answered. Front door turned out to be unlocked, so I entered & had to shout for attention. A young girl appeared & showed me to my room. She did not know the time of breakfast, no-one ever told me in 2 days: I had to guess.

Pros: Lovely position on high ground with long-distance views of beautiful surrounding countryside. Good dinner in the restaurant. Good breakfast.
Cons: The Wi-Fi was terrible. It did not work at all in the bedroom. It hardly worked in the main sitting area downstairs and I found that the only place where it was reliable was right next to the reception desk where the owner had told me the router is sited. The bedroom is very basic and did not even have a bedside table. The shower/bathroom was small but adequate.

Pros: Food was excellent albeit on the expensive side
Cons: No usable WiFi in room. No hairdryer in room, had to be fetched from reception. South- facing room had neither air-conditioning not fan with the result that temperature in room never dropped below 26 during the night. Cold water from tap remained luke-warm.

Pros: Superb elevated location in a very interesting historic little village. Room immaculate and balcony with a wonderful panoramic view across a vast amount of unspoiled countryside. Very pleasant and helpful owner who speaks good English. Excellent evening meal from a varied menu and great breakfast.
Cons: (Only the fact that it was exceptionally hot - most of the time the rooms would be very comfortable but as it was 36c in the day, quite warm for the first half of the night. But no fault of the hotel obviously!)

Pros: The first day we enjoyed a delightful breakfast in the 16th century dining room. On the second morning, the weather was lovely and tables were set on the patio in the courtyard. Both wonderful experiences! Elizabeth was a wonderful hostess. She gave my sister and I lots of information on where to go and what to see locally and in nearby Verdun. Our room was wonderful under the eaves with the most picturesque view of the old church behind.

Pros: Elizabeth made our two days stay like feeling home. Thanks for the wonderful breakfast and lovely dinner. Everything was clean. The village is very quiet. Definitely worth a visit!
6.3 Good
Pros: We loved Rustic farmhouse dining room and entrance. Bed was ok but we slept in more comfort before. Nice homemade continental breakfast. The lady of the house was friendly and so was her husband who was able to communicate with us in english while we had our breakfast.
Cons: There was no dinner at the property nor any local village shop or even bakery to get ourself some dinner, lady of the house spoke little english and we spoke very little french if any at all. So we were not to sure what she was saying or if she understood what we were asking. We searched properties that were listed as a Hotel in filter settings but this property was a definite B&B in the middle of a village of a few houses.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Host very friendly. Accomodation of a very high standard. The breakfast was excellent as was the optional dinner, which was well worth the 25 euros per head.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The owners were welcoming and very friendly. We shared a drink with them and had long conversations in both French and English. We were able to have the use of the garden and tables under the parasols to have our evening picnic. In the high temperatures, this was far preferable to driving some distance to 'eat out'. Inside, the guest rooms were spacious and the decor was excellent. There was a choice of board games in the well stocked library. The Continental breakfast was varied and delicious.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice people there we often visit on our way to Italy. The Hotel is clean and the food and wine are all ways appreciated after a drive. many thanks
Cons: The air-con in the room needs an upgrade when its in the 30deg plus but that is usually only in August.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Not much
Cons: Dirty walls, dirty bathroom, noisy room, shower head broken, no sink plug.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A good quality hotel situated in the centre of a small town. Everything was OK, including a simple but good breakfast. Had a good meal across the street. Pitty the personal has to keep crossing the street as they are located both sides of the road. Perfect for a stop or a short stay!
Cons: Pitty the older barman could not hide his, let's say, preference for French clients. Sure his capable but he could try to smile or to be friendly to non-french clients too... otherwise no complaints, the younger generation did their best to help and communicate.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location near A4 autoroute. Charming little town. Nice room. Easy parking. Staff excellent in hotel and restaurant. Good restaurant - and good value. Will stay again when travelling through.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were expecting a room in the old hotel but received a room in the modern hotel rooms opposite which was extremely roomy, had all the facilities and wonderful view over the Town Hall. Even though we arrived on the 14 July holiday where there was nothing else open we received a good welcome in the Brasserie. As a stop over before crossing the border into Germany this was a very pleasant stay.
Cons: Nothing - it was a great experience despite nearly everything else being closed on the holiday.

Pros: Good traditional French hotel with good traditional French food in an area that has little else in the way of decent accommodation. It gives the impression of having been rescued by a keen couple and all is very sympa!

Pros: We really liked a very nice and tasty breakfast with home-made jam and bread, the cosy room with the view to the garden and the overall atmosphere and tranquility. It was a great feeling to be near to nature, to see domestic cows and sheep and to breathe the fresh air of a village. It's a perfect place, if you want to relax from the business of the city and enjoy your vacation.
Cons: It was a bit difficult to find the place, as the Google navigator pointed to the wrong house, but overall it was great experience.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were the best, they really made you feel welcome. Great spot in the middle of nature, very relaxing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners did a great job with the modern upgrades to a charming 19th century farmhouse.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Located close to the highway this is really off the beaten track. Very nice furnished rooms and the hosts are absolutely great. If you have the time take the breakfast, its really worth it!

Pros: Attentive, friendly staff. Very good food
Cons: There was nothing I did not like
6.8 Good
Pros: The staff was very friendly. The restaurant served delicious dishes. The dogs were very welcome.
Cons: The beds were extremely uncomfortable. The cleaning of the room the second night was quite bad. The didn’t even make the bed properly.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good parking , bar outdoor bar/ restaurant, swimming pool . Good food .
Cons: It was quite a way from the motorway if you need a hotel and are passing through.
7.0 Good
Pros: Beautiful environment, very quiet in the woods. Friendly and helpful staff. Good quality kitchen. Everything you need is in the room.
Cons: Not as clean as you would expect from a hotel in this price range (e.g. brown tracks in the toilet, toilet does not flush well, tooth paste residue on shelfs, dirty tile grout).
7.5 Good
Cons: road access to Vienne from Saint Menehude(exit autoroute) compromised by a road closure and a long hit and miss detour needed- no advance advice from hotel (or from DDE) on alternative route to take!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Really friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: Really nothing to criticise.
6.3 Good
Pros: Food
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were made to feel at home right away, the room was comfortable and we appreciated not having carpeting. The attached restaurant was very good and produced attractive and delicious food.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely rural setting, good restaurant.
Cons: Bit of a trek from the motorway, but setting makes up for it. The hotel was full, so shower temp fluctuated, not terrible though. Service in restaurant was rather slow.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The food at dinner was exceptional.
Cons: The bedroom was rather outdated and needed brightening up
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely, quiet location, absolutely perfect for exploring WW1 sites; our dogs were more than welcome; extremely good food and wine... Some comment that the prices are high - this is not a cheap place, but you have to consider whether you want simply a place to stay and something to stop you from feeling hungry, or something more... This is definitely something more!
Cons: Wifi was a bit dodgy...;)
5.8 Okay
Pros: The hosts were helpful, and the accommodation, although basic was clean and tidy.
Cons: Rooms and bathrooms are tired and need upgrading. Dinner was good, but very expensive (London/Paris prices). Not good value. Breakfast was ok, and again, not good value for money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hospitality at its best
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: In the most peaceful location, only a short drive from the main route. Also the staff always welcome us so we'll. The restaurant, though a little expensive is superb and the wine choice excellent
Cons: That my wife was in hospital and returned to AL'oree
7.5 Good
Cons: Dead flies in the room, expected as rural but they could clean. Sadly the owners showed they were not interested to have guests or people in the restaurant. Food however was very good!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Some of the best food in he world
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice and quiet place, nice surrounding and possibility of outside sitting area
Cons: Everything else. Very old equippment, the property and rooms are without any investment for probably a long time which is really pity because I beleive it was an amazing place 10 years ago. We went to the dinner, we had just a glass of wine and a main course (couple) and it costs more than 100€!!! Which we would happily invest if we will get delicious food. But the food was terrible, mini portions, the worst fish I ever had, we didn’t even finish the food and they didn’t asked us how the food was at all. Terrible experience. We don’t recommend visiting the hotel restaurant at all. Waste of money.
7.5 Good
Pros: We liked that it was quiet. View of the countryside is lovely.
Cons: Parking was on a hill. We struggled since we know limited French. Assume that this hotel doesn't see English speaking guests very frequently.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The owners were amazing and the food is awesome.
Cons: The dinner is quite expensive
