We stayed two nights in the hotel and enjoined the perfect location, just in the middle of Beaune. We also enjoined the easy access to the hotel and the safe parking facilities.
I spent a night with my wife at Au Grand Saint Jean and we had a very pleasant stay. The staff were very polity, pleasant and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the location of the hotel is perfect: shops, bars, restaurants all is within a few minutes walk. Despite being central, it was all very quiet. Very good too, was the private and guarded garage. We could hear the neighbours well tough this was not a problem in the end.
The very comfortable rooms were newly decorated and refurbished. We had a triple room which represented excellent value for money, especially for a central Beaune location. The staff were extremely friendly and the breakfast was excellent. Secure and private parking was a real bonus.
One of the better hotels we have stayed, staff were very helpful and friendly, would definitely recommend this hotel, although being in the centre of Beaunne we did not suffer from any noise. Car parking facilities were also good and secure.
A decent standard and helpful staff, hotel in good location
Excellent location, friendly staff, very helpful and knowledgeable - excellent car parking. Ideal for a short break at low cost
Simple but clean room, good breakfast. There are other rooms (probably less cheap) that are airconditioned; we did not see those rooms. Excellent parking facility, very close to the city center. The room was not very soundproff and very warm in the afternoon. On the other hand, it was not really expensive either, so we would say good value for money.
One of the nice hotel in Beaune
Its central location was ideal for a one night stay. It provided good accommodation for the price.
We have bought a house in Dennevy this is a convenient place to stay. I love wandering around Beaune and this is close to walk in.
We liked the location, available parking, security and the quaintness and authenticity of the hotel The rooms were a little dark, matress was saggy
The hotel was near the town centre, near good restuarants and best of all the kind, cheerful owner/manager Herve Room was a bit dark even with lights on - but it was a dull day, just makes it hard to apply contact lenses!
The guy on reception the morning after our stay was very pleasant. It took three attempts to find a room in the hotel which was clean enough to stay in. The carpets in the first two rooms were disgusting. The receptionist was extremely unhelpful and claimed that the carpets were not dirty but just stained. She said that the carpets were due to be renewed next month. This was of no help to us what so ever. We have stayed at this hotel before and the room we had then had been recently refurbished so that is why we went back as we thought all the rooms would be in good order. We will not be going back again. Also, the air conditioning did not work in the room.
It is a lovely building and the decor throughout very atractive. Room clean and comfortable and good location. Receptionist friendly and helpful. Lighting in room poor. Very difficult to read by.
The unique walls - all covered in fabric not wallpaper. A lovely well converted building. Multi-lingual staff - very helpfull It was possible to hear conversations of other guests in their room.
Helpful proprietor. Good parking. First room on very noisy road. Double glazed but a/c not working so very hot and stuffy, or, windows open and very noisy. Room was changed and then very pleasant. Nice hotel but avoid front rooms.
the staff were efficient, helpful and pleasant hotel is very well placed for the town and easily found
the staff was wonderful and the location was great my only dislike was that there was not enough light in the room to read at night. Other than that we really enjoyed our visit. The staff was very friendly
Staff were very helpfull, hotel was comfortable and well looked after, location great for getting into Beaune
Good Location,Friendly Staff. Not all TV channels worked.
The staff were excellent and very helpful and spoke English. Would like more English speaking channels on TV. Car park expensive as there is ample free parking within easy walking distance.
convenience to the area we were visiting. helpfulness of the staff. Security of the locked garage. room furnishings were minimal and not very comfortable. lighting was inadequate
Our French language skills are very limited but the staff were patient and helpful. They could not have been more obliging. Having just spent 4 weeks enjoying France, Hotel Henry ll and Beaune itself are still rated amongst our best experiences. Thank you for having them on your selection list The room was small but what we paid to stay in it was also small. We were there for the experience of the Country and its culture not to spend time in our room (which was really very charming).
The front desk staff were very friendly helpful and nice. We spoke no French so they jumped right in to help us with dinner reservations and many other gret suggestions as what to not miss in the area. They even gave us discount coupons for attractions. Thank you Steffany, Sophie, Julie Sabrina! We miss are Beaune family!
Location. Walking distance to attractions.
Accessibility, comfort, helpfulness of staff.
Friendly and helpful staff. Good sized, clean room. Secure car park facility and location to the centre of Beaune.
The accomadations were nice and the location was very good The price was too high, particularly without breakfast included.
Good location, clean, quiet.
Location close to Beaune historic centre, nice large pool, friendly and professional staff, not overcrowded. Main lobby had a bad smell. Carpet in bedroom was not fantastic.
convenience to the City and the motorway dated bathroom and smell of smoke
hotel was suitably locat6ed to the old town centre where we found a magnificent little restaurant that served local fare. Thoroughly enjoyed the walk and went6 straight to sleep upon returning to the hotel
We found the hotel very good indeed for our one night stay en route to UK. The room was comfortable and the staff very friendly. It was also really near the centre and the walk to the centre was very picturesque. The facilities (swimming pool, bar and restaurant) looked very good and made me think that the next time we would prefer to stay a little longer
Easy to find, friendly staff, informal, fantastic bed, very telaxing The air con was imposssible to control, we ended up opening the windows!
The hotel is well placed, you can walk to the city center. Breakfast is expensive.
Well placed near the city centre. Good parking facilities. We liked the sitting room area of the booking. Building and decoration a little past its best.
Reception and checking out was efficient and friendly. My stay was enjoyable; the staff were keen to help and my two-day stay was relaxing. The air-conditioning in my room was noisy.
It's proximity to the historic centre of the city of Beaune, and easy access to the motorway.
the actual building and the room the WC is in another room - acroos the corridor - from the bathroom and the bidet!!!
We enjoyed this boutique hotel very much. It's an older building with plenty of character and is interesting because all of rooms are different. We had a suite on the first floor, the room was extremely spacious with high beamed ceilings and 2 bathrooms which is somewhat unique. There was a bit of noise from the floors creaking when the upstairs neighbors walked around but it was delightful to our ears and is definitely part of the ambiance we were looking for in Beaune. Location is inside the walled city and close for restaurants, wine shops and other shopping. We look forward to our next visit
The hotel staff were superb. Service, just the best.
It was a lovely hotel, the linens were so nice and the staff very friendly and accomidating.
Liquid soqp in rooms
I liked the responsiveness and friendliness of the staff. I also liked that my car was parked and looked after for me. The hotel itself was beautiful and the rooms interesting Very expensive to eat or drink in the hotel
Location is great. The decoration agrees with the style of Beaune. Nice staff attending very well. The bed is small and the mattress was terrible to a person with 1,8 m tall and 95 Kg weight.
thought the room was wonderful. Also staff lovely. Did not try the restaurant but it looked good The noise of the air conditioner box
The hotel was well maintained and conveniently located in a historic section of the town. Staff was friendly. It was a little difficult to find the hotel.
Location, friendliness of staff.comfort. Breakfast very expensive. Tourist factory feel. Room dark and gloomy.
Hotel close to city center. Refreshing swimming pool. Friendly staff. Good Value for money Small and noisy rooms (clean though) as usual in Ibis Hotels.
Chef forgot our potatoes, steak rubbery and over cooked
Very convenient for Beaune town centre. Restaurant very good
The locaton close to the old city was a plus. Parking was available on site in a protected area. The staff was friendly although there were few that spoke English but that was not a major problem. The pool was nice. Great location for walking to the major attractions at a reasonable price. The room and bathroom was small in comparison to most hotels we had stayed at during our trip. We changed our room several times before we settled in hoping to find a larger room with a bit of a view.
- the staff at reception was very friendly and helpful, especially a young man - swimming pool on the premises: excellent for refreshment, especially for the kids - located very near historic centre of town, convenient at short walking distance - some of the staff at bar and terrace was rather unfriendly, making guests wait (fortunately their colleague stepped in)
NOt a big room but practical. Was in a good location and easy to access.
Very well placed to visit a very attractive town location. Secure parking and friendly staff.
The hotel is very good, close to downtown, has parking and an excellent breakfast and a good hotel staff
Hotel in excellent location, as you can park the car and walk across the road to the old town, as parking very difficult in centre. Room at rear of hotel. Room clean but stuffey. Very noisey with window open as above pump room, with pump on and off all night. Yes the room they gave us, was right at the back of the hotel above the pump house, we had a terrible nights sleep.
Couldn't stay there - it was closed for the holidays. However, we were directed to another hotel not far away. It was OK. Yes, the breakfast was minimal, coffee not great, and we were charged even more than the rate advertised in the dining room (since it was the rate quoted on your website).
location no internet
The athmosphare was beautiful.especially the restauran room.I think for having breakfast there, it was a little bit dark. the bathroom is very simple and if you take a shower everything will be wet
on a quiet side street three floors up on treacherous round staircase: no elevators; inflated price for small breakfast
Very helpful staff, comfortable bedroom and clean and tidy throughout. An historic building with winding stairs and interesting features. Breakfast was excellent.
Charming street and a look into history. Confusing to check in.
A very interesting experience with a fantastic atmosphere, in particular at the breakfast with background music corresponding to the time period and lit candles on the table. The breakfast was excellent, little choice but very good. The only minus point was the bathroom which is very small.
The close proximity of the hotel to the centre of Beaune. Overall poor quality of the establishment, especially the restaurant. The hotel & restaurant are seriously over-priced. I would advise all potential clients to avoid the place.
Very pleasant staff. They attract visitors because they are a 12th century abbey - but this is misleading, as there is little of the abbey left visible. The shower was handheld.
The restaurant with the old vaulted ceiling. Beautiful. The pictures were a deciding factor in our choosing this hotel from others available during the same dates. The staff was also extremely friendly and helpful. Lovely people! Some not so good surprises: Winding staircase with small width stairs and no elevator. No nice toilettries or blow dryer. All door knobs were loose or kept falling off. Very loud flusher. not recommended for older people or those travelling with small children. The steps would be a nightmare with buggies and there are no railings going from the ground floor to the first floor. I almost lost my footing a few times. Very loud flushing system that sucks the air from the toilet and sink. Other than that, it suited us just fine and we made light of all of these quirkie things. Oh the door knobs - we cannot look at a door without one without bursting into laughter. Maintenance must be on vacation!
Room, service, reception service, restaurant, location Nothing
THe location - easy walk into old town and wineries. We had reserved a parking place - so that was good. Rooms are small but comfortable -new bathrooms were very good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Newspapers in the lobby were great to have. Service in the bar/lounge was "spotty" - Not being allowed to extend check out by one hour on Saturday even though hotel was not full on Friday night. We had wanted to go pick up our purchases and re pack before loading car - but young man at front desk friday evening said a flat no - Left us with a negative feeling about the place. So we then went out for breakfast - and lunch the next day as well as dinner Friday evening.
Excellent hotel. Booking confirmation process was very efficient. Staff at hotel were exceptionally friendly and efficient. The hotel meals and the service were excellent.
nice historic building but with new bathrooms, very friendly staff at the reception
Charming traditional hotel in centre of Beaune with excellent restaurant. Big airy room. Great bar with leather sofas and good Cigars. Breakfast was a bit minimal for the price. Buffet but lots of things missing by the time we got there about 9.30am
The friendly staff and central position . The food was excellent at dinner as well as breakfast and nicely presented. The one and only lift, if someone did'nt shut the door we had to walk up or down and as we were on the top floor, not good.
Nice hotel although rooms are on the smaller side. Staff excellent and friendly with serviceable English. Very good breakfast and excellent restaurant for dinner. Good access to everything. Would gladly stay here again.
the atmospher of tye hotel and the excellent service from knowledgeable and friendly staff
The Staff are first class- old fashioned courtesy and charm, which describes the hotel overall
Good location, close to the old city and the Hospices Noisy in the morning.
The central location The bed was not comfortable
Great Location, nice people, and the best bed I have ever slept on in a hotel. Thick mattress down bedding the bath/shower was difficult to keep the water in
Ideal for city centre. Use of garage for security of car Room size could have been larger, particularly as we stayed for 6 nights. Not a complaint but a general comment.
location. No kettle or mini bar in room.No parking.
Location in easy walking distance from centre of Beaune Difficult to find, partly due to roadworks and one way systems. Breakfast very expensive so we went to a cafe instead.
Excellent, traditional hotel with modern twist. Perfect location. Nothing
The location The breakfast was poor.
It was exactly as indicated on the website, welll positioned for Beaune city centre.
We had a train that was delayed and reception stayed open until midnight for us. Excellent location.
It was the worst day of my honeymoon. After I did 2 reservations without knowing (In the first one I didn't get the e-mail confirmation - but I don't know if it was blocked). So I arrived at the hotel and after they took my card they told me they would charge me for both. And after I explained to the manager I've just one confirmation he told me it was only my problem. Of corse he charged me for 2 rooms even though we were in low season and he had other available rooms (so I don't think I blocked his booking as he mentioned. I felt like I've been stolen. As a matter of fact I was! They simply don't care about costumers satisfaction. The room is noisy. The breakfast is overpriced.
It was easy to drive to and the private parking was a plus Wireless internet did not work in our room. I had to go to the lobby to pick up a wireless signal. It worked very well in the lobby.
Very friendly staff, nice hotel, good location, wonderful town to visit We did not get the breakfast so can't comment on it
The helpfulness of the staff e.g. helping with luggage, moving cars etc. Also, the closeness to the centre of town.
room arrangement was great, perfect for family, large bathroom and appeared very clean. Close to pedestrian area and lots of nice bakeries. beds and pillows could be upgraded but besides that it was very nice. I do think breakfast should be included in this price range.
It's proximity to the old city of Beaune. No Lift (elevator)
It was within walking distance of the town. The rooms were lovely.
The hotel has the intimacy of a large house as opposed to a larger hotel. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Our room was comfortable and good value. The breakfast was good but a little overpriced relative to other hotels we stayed at in France which offered identical menus.
Excellent location. The concierge was very helpful, even helping me with parking the car.
The very large bathroom and shower were much appreciated. The bed and pillows were very comfortable.
Brilliant location, very friendly, clean, comfortable, excellent breakfast and great value for money. A wonderful hotel awaits for gourmet wine enthusiasts to explore this beautiful region. Nothing, the Hotel was perfect.
The place was fabulous! Very clean, very well located and the rooms were large and beautiful! The beds were very comfortable too.
the confort and the location - very relaxing. Only, as I'm English, the temperature of the hot water for tea. Otherwise evrything was good.
what a nice location! staff was so nice this hotel is over 400 years old. it's really cozy and classic.
Good location for walking into the town. Plenty of good nearby restaurants. Friendly and characterful hotel.
Staff service as our flight was delayed and they were very helpful as we only arrived at the hotel at 1:00am. Also we loved the room out back and the spaciousness of the bathroom. N/A
The personnel was very helpful and polite. They could speak English well which facilitated our communication. Rooms are clean and spacious. Location is wonderful - you are right in the middle of everything
This is a small older style hotel located very close to the old town center (5 minutes walk). The decor is typical old french (patterned wall prints and dark woods) but the condition was good. I had a small single room which was adequate for an overnight stay. The ensuite bathroom has evidently been renovated recently and was in excellent condition and clean. The room had a/c, a hair drier and free internet. The hotel has a rear courtyard for parking with large doors which are closed for security in the evenings (cost €4.20). Plenty of good restaurants in the area. Old style and not luxurious but well worth the low price paid, and better than the equivalent room / service at many similar priced hotels. This is not a place to spend a vacation , but is very good for an inexpensive stop over in a great small town
The staff was friendly and most helpful. The hotel is well presented, clean and comfortable. The location is close to the train station and major attractions.
Wery nice room, good location, private parking, wifi in the room.
The staff were most helpful and friendly. The situation was excellent, the restaurant very good - and the wine list......... The bedroom was very spacious, the bathroom beautiful and clean, the bed itself most inviting We were rather disappointed to be charged 25euros each for a continental breakfast - the information stated that the charge for an American breakfast would be 25euros - my husband works in America, and a continental breakfast of bread/croissants/coffee and orange juice (regardless of how pleasantly presented) does not in any way compare to an American breakfast!
Comfortable hotel at an excellent standard. Very pleasant staff and a great location. The hotel promotes its associated restaurant but our experience was disappointing. Food was decent but not outstanding, service erratic, price high relative to similar quality restaurants in France.
Very good position off town centre with adjoining excellant restaurant and very comfortable room
The staff were so great in helping us with everything we needed and the room was outstanding, very comfortable. Everything was to our liking.
Atmosphere, boutique size (7 rooms), room, service, food, wine, location, location, location in the heart of Beaune Bed was a bit hard for my taste; but that of course is personal!
We loved the location and the history, the service, the ambience, and especially the food (and attached restuarant.)
The staff were friendly, the hotel although boutique type has everything you need in a larger facility and the Restaurant is excellent. The sad part. Its expensive
The location is absolutely excellent in the centre of town & very close to all the main sights. Suggest choose an air-conditioned room in summer so you can close the window at night to reduce street noise. Rooms are fairly basic but clean. Bathroom was good in room 5. Overall good value for money. The breakfast was unimpressive & not really good value, but there are plenty of good cafes nearby. Poor coffee out of an urn was a disappointment as hotel bar has proper coffee making facilities.
Friendly and centrally located. Restaurant excellent food & service. Not really, may be roomsshould be able to access to internet would be handy.
Location Noise from kitchen
Great location, friendly staff who responded promptly to our needs
Very friendly and helpful staff Fantastic location
Best possible location in Beaune. Very old fashioned toilets ! Clean but weird.
fantastic location, clean room, adorable hotel facade, quiet
The location was good, and the room was quiet. A pair of glasses was broken while we were out of the room, and was then moved. This must have been an accident by the cleaner, but they did not report it, and we have no way of proving what happened.
great location, friendly staff, excellent breakfast!
Gentleman on duty was exceptionally helpful Beds could be better. Deep tub in bathroom could be dangerous.
The location is very good, very close to down tone Beaune The breakfast there is 9 euro person with only bread, juice and honey, butter. The most unworthy breakfast I've ever had.
Very good location, just a few minutes from all the important sights Altough clean, room was worn off and in need of renovation.
Good location. Old hotel, could have used some repairs in the room.
The propritaer and his wife were delightful and the staff helpful and solicitous.
The staff and location were excellent. We would visit again. The room smelled like dusty. The carpet was probably old.
In the heart of town, friendly, comfortable, quiet and ready to do anything to please including letting us park in their private garage! Merci beaucoup
Location When I made a request to the staff, their immediate reaction was probably not, but it usually possible. They were so uptight. Bossy management? I move to another hotel in Beaune after 2 nights.
close proximity to town in need of repair
The staff was so friendly. After a couple hours shopping, I just loved having breakfast in the charming courtyard! I am already planning a return trip.
Great location and staff.
