quality of hotel
Helpful & friendly staff NO
We didn't get a self catering apaprtment as we'd booked, instead we we're offered a suite which wasn't self catering. However Stacey on reception managed to have a microwave and crockery brought to our room. If she hadn't have been so helpful - our stay could have been runined. Only that we didn't get what we ordered
Very peaceful, full of nature environment
The staff were friendly and helpful. The lodge was superbly equipped, especially the kitchen. Lovely swimming pool. We were surprised that, although we had assumed that we had booked for 2 adults and 2 children, the hotel had us down for 4 adults and so the kids had to share a. sofabed in the lounge. We hadn't expected this.
Very well appointed suites, good sized rooms and comfotable. Nice location, easy parking. Receptionist booked us into a room closed for decorating. Took about 45 mins and 3 more attempts to find a free room. No appology or gesture made.
Nice room Limited menu
Everything was clean & fresh. The room was good size & comfortable. The staff were all helpful & friendly. Surroundings were lovely.
Everything. It's a wonderful place!
The second time we have stayed in this hotel. We love the fact that it is in the middle of no where, so relaxing and has good facilities. There are local pubs near by and a close town village. The restaurant menu was limited - we chose to eat out.
We liked the ambience which was inhanced by the curtesy and attentiveness of the staff. Nothing
Staff excellent and very friendly. Food great. Room very comfortable.
Our room was beamed and looked out over the moor which was nice Had to book out by 10.00am but could only book in after 2.30pm as the rooms were not ready. Food in the pub was not good although dealt with
Lovely laid back atmosphere, clean and tidy, excellent food.
Loved the atmosphere at the Inn. Really enjoyed visiting the museum and reading the guest register with all the ghost stories. When we checked in, we were helped by a very friendly and accommodating staff member. There was some confusion when making my booking. I made the reservation through bookings.com and there was not an option to select 2 adults, 2 children. So, I put a comment in the notes section indicating that I have two children and would need cots. It all worked out in the end, but caused a good deal of confusion when we arrived.
We had an excellent stay. The hotel staff were all very helpfull. The food was good and the room was clean and tidy. An interesting place to stay.
great staff. excellent food . great fire did not see a goast

Excellent value for money. very comfortable room.Dogs are catered for and provided with dog bed in room if required.Hearty breakfast.
The staff were friendly, attentive and made us feel welcome. The food served in the restaurant was of a high standard, and well presented.
No bar but you could get a drink at any time even when arriving back at the hotel after midnight :-)
The staff were all very helpful and welcoming and the hotel was lovely. Our room was very clean and comfortable and their was an excellent full english breakfast in the morning. The restaurant was very nice and serverd wonderful Italian food. I would definitely go again.
Excellent room and friendly staff. Evening meal was very good. None, except some noisy children
Hotel is very traditional, with an unexpectedly good Italian chef and restaurant. Some of the paintwork in the public areas is a bit tired.
The hotel is very conveniently situated for the moors and within 15 minutes walk from the Lydford Gorge. The room was a good size, clean and very modern. The attached Italian restaurant is excellent. none
Peaceful location, good room with excellent bathroom. Friendly, helpful staff. Would have been good to have some good quality bread at breakfast, no sign of any brown bread or even better brown baker style bread.
It is a beautyful hotel with very friendly stuff. The dartmoor country side over the street is fantastic. We had a great stay.
Dog friendly, excellent location, good quality restaurant.
Ambiance, excellent caring staff, superb service, excellent resturant. Room wonderfully presented. As good or possibly better than 4* hotels I have used for work. Cant think of any
Outstanding! Accommodation was first rate, hospitality of owners was exceptional. The breakfast was the best we've had in England. The room was clean, comfortable and very pleasant.
Peaceful, friendly staff, good breakfast Room a little on the small side, bar and breakfast area a little spartan
Extremely friendly and helpful staff, very good value for money and a lovely breakfast!
The room smelled musty/damp. There was a strong smell of cigarettes in both reception and the breakfast room. I think the staff smoke.
This was our second stay at Fairway. The room was spacious, clean and plenty of hot water for the shower. The staff were friendly and helpful.A good breakfast was provided each morning.
Friendly and helpful staff Nothing
Walking It was a bit distant rom the nearest civilisation. Resulting in having to drive everywhere.
Staff were friendly, food excellent, room comfortable
We were made welcome from the start, especially our dog. Nothing was too much trouble.
Very good breakfast. The bathroon could have been cleaner considering the money.
Room was very spacious with good facilities. The staff were extremely friendly and the food was fantastic.
Staff were brillliant and couldn't do enough for us - please pass this on...and great value for money!
Convenient for exploring the area. Restaurant - decent food at a reasonable price
nice food, friendly waiting service and in a nice location cleanliness wasn't brilliant
Good ac comodation and nice course Big meeting held in dinning room whilst we were eating meal on one occasion
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were situated in bungalows within the grounds of the golf club. Very quiet The decor of the rooms
good spacious rooms with good bathrooms
the relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and the feeling that we were coming home again. nothing at all
we found it very comfortable and convenient for visiting our friends who live close by. The breakfasts were excellent. We missed not having a comfortable chair in our room- and were disappointed with each main course, duck & chicken, served at dinner on the 16th October. The off-hand manner of one of the staff waiting at this meal was similarly disappointing
Very welcoming country hotel, furnished to a very high standard.Lovely food and wi-fi is a bonus. Will stay there again. Rooms rather overheated.
Classic country hotel with attention to every detail. Helpful and friendly staff make the visit totally relaxing.
My trip was business and after a long journey travelling by car from Lancashire found the facilities very comfortable afer a weary journey and the staff pleasent, helpfull and accomodating
Very comfortable lounge. Excellent food. Very friendly staff in all areas.
Everything Traffic noise
Friendly staff, good food, relaxing atmosphere wifi in the bedroom was rubbish
The friendliness and efficiency of the staff and the quality of food from both the restaurant and bar.
Location and very quiet as n businrs was ablke to work in evening without disruption, bar staff very friendly and efficient, food excellent
Great food - the best gluten-free bread I have ever been offered (which was entirely unexpected as I had given no advance warning of my coeliac disease) and excellent service. Comfortable, roomy, well-appointed accommodation.
Beautiful location and exceptionally quiet country retreat. Charming building & excellent service from all the staff. We also enjoyed the tour of the hotel's vegetable garden by the Head Gardener, who is a great credit to this special hotel. The bedroom furnishings and bathroom are starting to look tired in places. The breakfast lacked a "wow" factor. However, neither of these disappointments spoilt a great stay. Thank you to all the team.
