Horrible rude service. Shuttle two hours late when they kept telling us twenty minutes, asked by both driver and front desk attendant "you know there are taxis right?" Very unprofessional
Drug dealers and prostitutes around pool area. Had a gun pulled on me outside in the daytime. Going out at night was clearly not an option.
I booked a bed before I read the small print about no one over 30 can stay here. I realized this 2 days before I was scheduled to stay so I contacted management. I never heard anything back from them at all I landed in LA and drove to the address listed for the site and still couldn't find the place. Tried to call but again no contact with management at all. Address listed was in the heart of inglewood and a very shady area. The address given looked like an abandoned building and definitely nothing like the pictures that are posted. So after being unable to find the place and no contact from management,I got to sleep in the rental car for the night. When I got up the next morning I checked and was charged for the stay on my credit card. Love paying for nothing. The absolute worst part of my trip and I plan on disputing the charge on my credit card. Maybe I had the address wrong or it was listed incorrectly but some kind of communication from management would have been helpful.
Location close to the LAX Airport... Bad place! maybe nice for jong poeple...
The location was good near to the airport and car rental company, the staff was friendly.
The free shuttle to LAX and champagne coupon. Ultra cheap dorm rate** free watered down coffee. Oh where to begin. The place is located in a undesirable part of town. It looks run down and seems to be more of a place that people stay long term vs a couple of days or so. They have cats everywhere, I literally counted 14 pussies roaming the property. Don't get me wrong I love cats, but I don't think it looks right at all. The dorms stunk and for a 20 bed dorm only to have one bath is totally unacceptable. And the staff could go through some customer service training. Really that's referred to the night crew as the day crew was ok with me. They have lockers for a reason, use it!!!
Not a single thing! You would sleep better at the airport! Too many people in a room. Bathroom was filthier than an NYC subway bathroom. No towels provided. The blankets made me feel like theyd been taken from a molested child and donated. Cerfew not enforced or observed. 50-60 year old men hitting on girls 18-25. Disgusting. Staff were no help with locating my room, rules, accomdations.
Cheap housing, pool There are several things but like I said you get what you pay for
Just the price The room with 20 beds was smelling bad, all dirty, bathroom disgusting.
Nice room, nice place to meet new people... The locations is to far from LA, but it's very nice for who is waiting the flight in LAX...
I liked the moment I left it. The most terrible experience I've ever had. Can you immagine, I got fleas (блохи!) in my bed! Still keep fighting this problem after my stay at the disgusting Adventurer. Location is extremely bad - close to the airport, you can hear planes all the time, and at the same time cannot reach any of the places of interest without car. Need to mention that public transport is poorely developed in la, that's why staying in the Adventurer turns into kind of a prison... Don'te be cheated on: the shuttle they are offering to the beach will bring you not to Santa Monica or Venice beach - but to tiny unknown Marina del Rey, a few kilometres from really famous beaches of la. Don't be trapped! Never stay at the Adventurer!
It was cheap I didn't feel safe walking around the area. Went back to the hostel 'restaurant' which served a virtually inedible burger. Parking is limited and not assigned. Typical hostel bathrooms. I wouldn't go back!
Ir was ok for a budget place didnt feel too safe in the hotel surroundings in the night...
The people at the lodge were really amazing. They were friendly and could answer a lot of questions. Dom is the events coordinator there at the hostel and he used to take everyone out for nightly events which allowed poeple to interact with each other. There were people from many different countries and it was interesting to share their perspective on things. The beachside views was fantastic. The music around reminds you of san Francisco in the 60's. They also have free breakfast in the morning, a separate room if you want to store huge luggage and a common room where people from different rooms can talk to each other during the day. At $35 per night, i think that its a good deal compared to the expensive hotels in LA The spring beds were really not that comfortable. I didn't get much sleep. Also there is just 1 shared bathroom for 8 rooms which could get cramped up somtimes. Add to that, those bathrooms get clogged often. I also had to struggle in getting the door open as the key would not fit in completely. The vending machine is out of order.
