Workmanlike hotel on edge of industrial estate and close to autoroute - which probably explains why rooms were available on a summer Sunday night when other, nearby hotels were full. Clean. Web site gave check-in hours from 0700 to 1200. Went to hotel first to check and found check in times are 1400 to 2300. Staff said the restaurant would be open on Sunday night but, in the event, it wasn't.
Very good restaurant. Friendly atmosphere. Only hotel available in area. Basic beds small and hard. Lack of competition from other hotels
The hotel was clean and tidy but staff were helpful but not as friendly as at other hotels we stayed at. Breakfast was not as nice but more expensive compared to our other stops.
Was comfortable, and enjoyed the view. We thouight the flavours of our dinner were over-complicated.
The Hotel Embarcadere is a great hotel in Nantua, which I found to be a picturesque area. There is a lake just across the street and it is quite beautiful. Quite a few people were fishing and there are also some nice restaurants located along the lake. There is also a nice path for running and walking around the lake. The restaurant at the hotel has exceptional food and service as well. The hotel staff was friendly and accomodating.
beautiful location very expensive restaurant - much too expensive for a family
The location Drab rooms Very expensive restaurant
Rooms were quirky and old fashioned but comfortable. The hotel was friendly and helpful. The hotel looks like ot is being refurbished and then will be even better. The restaraunt was very fine dining with a price to match. The breakfast was expensive and not very good with little variety and coffee from a machine which was not up to the task of catering for the number of people. There is a Lidle behind the hotel and i recommend that you buy your own breakast privisions.
Well run & very clean hotel in a great location.
Location overlooking a beautiful lake was unexpected and appreciated. The restaurant was very elegant with an interesting menu. The room was a stark contrast to the beautiful surroundings and of the fine restaurant. It was without charm and warmth and the shower needed upgrading so that the water did not splash onto the floor.
Nantua, the town where the hotel is located is not touristy and have very few restaurant choices.
We arrived late in the evening, never expecting that next day in the morning we will find ourselves in the middle of a very nice, picturesque village. The hotel ticks all boxes. The owners, an extremely nice pair, welcomed us with 2 glasses of beer on their account! A place worth visiting.
Warm welcome from charming owner, this small hotel is decorated with imagination and style rather like a private house; situated on the edge of a small village in beautiful countryside, good dinner and excellent breakfast; comfortable bedroom; reasonably priced and highly recommended no
Nice, peaceful place. Small hotel with nice meals. Beautiful countryside.
The quality of the dinner, excellent fresh meals. All the lovely details in decoration. We stayed longer than planned ...
Cleanliness. no Air conditioning, when we arrived staff did not speak english as written on hotel website. put do not disturb sign up but cleaner still came in.
room and bathroom were a decent size and service was ok Dinner (steak was terrible), ordered a point and it came so overcooked it would've bounced if I'd dropped it. Decor was awful. No plug for the bath and I just couldn't be bothered to complain
perfect hotel located in the middle of the plastic valley, excellent value for money
Value for money, good breakfast Check-in difficult for people not fluent in french, comfort/cleanliness impaired due to building work
