Very good overnight stay during our journey south west, 2 rooms booked for mine and my friends family, all 8 of us pleased.
Very central location with plenty of parking space across the road from the hotel Bedroom could do with a bit of redecoration / modernisation
We had a lovely light and spacious family room with a large bathroom with bath and shower. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room, quite noisy at night and warm as it is not air conditioned
The staff were very pleasant and helpful. It was quiet. Comfortable. Nicely decorated. No facilities for making drinks (we British love our tea!)
Extremely good central location in Lisieux. Good sized comfortable rooms and decent facilities. Breakfast was varied and would cater to all tastes.
Lisieux is an excellent middle point to visit Normandy- D day beaches, Mt Saint Michel, etc. The Best Western is in the center of this very cute little town and has excellent service and rooms. We loved the three nights we spent there.
grande chambre. very agreeable with not expensive price
Close to city centre Rooms in need of updating
Location, good quality-price relationship Problem with wireless in the room (I had to go to connect to reception), a little bit old fashioned hotel not luxurious but right and clean for the price paid. Good service at reception desk
wonderful staff, great location for St. Therese sites
The efficiency and friendliness of the staff no
Hotel meal was very good and staff were friendly and helpful No bad points really
the staff were competent and friendly. it was very central to all the sites
Restaurant very good, though wine was a little expensive for what was offered. Reception staff very obliging. Cleaning staff courteous and did a very good job. Room was tired and shower did not work properly, there were better rooms in the hotel and I would have preferred this option when booking. Hotel was unable to offer a better room on arrival because it was full.
Breakfast and dinner were good value. The hotel turned out to be on the wrong side of Lisieux for the business my son and I had in Normandy (clearing a house we had sold). So we only stayed one night. It's not the kind of place I would have chosen in other circumstances (like a Travelodge with better food) but the above is the sole reason for moving on.
Usual Campanile quality, style, value and helpfulness Hotel has an automated check-in system, which meant that guests were arriving right through the night. Woken at 01:15 with loud bangs and then suffered a constant arrival of people through to 03:30, the rattle of each diesel engine and flurry of slammed doors heralding yet another arrival. Not pleasant. This is a larger (3-storey) building and it's a terrible sound box, easily transmitting noises between rooms. If you want to hear people coming and (quite literally!) going all night, then stay here and enjoy the experience! Never again will we use this hotel, and we will avoid others that have an automated 24-hours check-in system (look for the green kiosk that looks like a cashpoint, next to the main entrance). This is a shame, as the rest of the hotel was good and the staff very helpful.
Good overnight accomodation. More of a motel.
Convienient stopover useful to have restuarant on site food not too bad but not what you would get in local restuarant hotel next door considerably cheaper not much less standard. Staff could smile a little more
very small room, when opening the third bed impossible to get to the bathroom, very unfriendly staff, actually a B&B on the highway for a night's stop over. Maybe acceptable for business travellers
Clean.Good basic facilities.Quiet. Easy parking. Pleasant restaurant with good simple food.Good to use enroute.
Excellent Value for money
We stayed here because we had a car and did not want to have to negotiate the streets of the city and also find a place to park. It was in a perfect location for day trips to various spots in the countryside, which is what we did every day. It was very convenient to all the major roads of the region.
friendly service, clean and quiet room, very reasonable price
easy tofind, very helpful and pleasant receptionist, clean and comfortable. probably the best edge of town-overnight stay-budget chain-hotel we have stopped in and the town of Orbec is very old, very nice a delight to wander around and we found it very reasonably priced we will definately go back but it will have to be two nights next time. nothing we did not like about this hotel
Pass Old fashioned and shabby. Collections of old radios in every corner don't seem to have been dusted for a long time.
Clean and comfortable, pleasant staff, relaxed atmosphere, country location although train line and main road very close.
Clean, modern hotel in quiet location Beds very hard, no coffee-making facilities, room quite small and basic
Acces Breakfast was not always with fresh bread
Parking outside the room. Although just a plastic foam matress, the bed was surprisingly comfortable. Would have liked bacon and eggs for breakfast, or at least some meat products, like ham, for example. A DVD player would be an advantage to those guests who don't understand French as there are no english programs to watch on TV and, in any case, the TV reception was very poor quality. If you then rented DVDs for the night, you could make a bit more profit, perhaps? Tea/coffee making facilities in the room would be appreciated, as supplied in the UK.
great value, nice English speaking staff . Ok breakfast . Hard to find. Near the roundabout on the way out of town. near carrefour petrol station
The room was well designed and comfortable Our shower leaked so there was a pool of water in the en suite when we arrived. Perhaps this should have been noted before and dealt with although this didn't spoil our stay in spite of wet feet!
Being able to book in anytime, clean room and good shower.
Easy to check in/out. Fairly calm and quite. A bit far from city centre and good restaurants.
Clean room, easy access from main roads.
Excellent hotel and staff. Wifi would not work until the television in the room was switched off and unplugged. Hotel was full, and breakfast area too small staff struggled to cope, and we had to wait for a table.
The booking in was very easy I would have liked a kettle for tea and coffee in the room to have made it more comfortable.
Interconnecting room was priceless as was the breakfast option. Location is outstanding for visiting Lisieux
Once in Lisieux it was easy to find the hotel which is on the Paris Road behind the town's McDonald's. It is also beside a large Le Clerc supermarket where you can get a three course lunch and free water for under six Euros. It is easy to access St. Therese de Lisieux's family home and Carmel Convent from here by car. The gentleman at the front had worked in Dublin for two years and was very helpful. We had a nice stay in the hotel and in Lisieux. There was good parking outside and it is only two and a half hours away (by car) from Cherbourg port.
Perfect matc price/quality. You have fast internet, a good TV and all necessary basic tools you need for basic sleeping. Do not expect any luxury, rooms are small, bathroom is in plastic, beds are not too comfortable, coffee to be taken from a machine. Do not take the breakfast in the hotel but go to Leclerc just outside the hotel for a fresh and cheap breakfast
The rooms were clean and the price was great. A great location with restaurants and stores nearby.
The price was very good and the hotel offered free internet facilities and a simplistic approach to entering and exiting the hotel. There was almost no need for any staff.
Easy access during the day, and reasonable prices. A little difficult to find for the first time. No nothing.
This is a pleasant hotel on the outskirts of Lisieux and is very efficiently run. My room had a skylight window which did not open. There was no air conditioning, but there was a large fan which did help.
Location was excellent The 5 am morning call that we did not request or require
The staff were wonderful. They were very friendly and helpful. When we could not get a taxi home on one of the evenings a staff member came to collect us. I would certainly recommend the hotel.
meals and informality in dinning area level of door closing noise late evening, could have been cupboards being slammed not closed too.
The facilities are decent, if a bit bland. The hotel's restaurant is excellent. The bathrooms are equiped with 110 and 220 volt outlets which was very useful. The hotel is located on the edge of town in the industrial area. It is not convenient without a car and the neighborhood precludes any type of ambience. The cleaning staff does a very average job of servicing the rooms each day. The rooms do not look fresh when you walk in. Also, WiFi is available but not free while other hotels in this chain offer free WiFi.
We were using the Hotel as an overnight stop on our way south and for these purposes it was fine. The booking and checking in process was very effcient and your staff were friendly and helpful. The meal in the restauarnt was very pleasant.
The location of the hotel close to the village, the size of the room and le petit dejeuner all made it a welcome break in our journey between the Dordogne and Calais.
Friendly staff, family rooms, clean, good value, restaurant on site
Easy to find, convenient, lots of parking, value for money and extremely welcoming hostess Restaurant closed on a Friday evening which was a little inconvenient on a transit stay - but good food was to be found in the village a couple of minutes drive away.
Room clean and a good size for a quad. Arrived late but staff helpful. Good journey stopover point with ample parking. A little off the motorway but well signposted.
Good for an overnight stop, very basic, but clean, friendly, quiet, nice local village with a couple of decent restaurants. Breakfast was 24 euros for a family of four, which really bumps up the cost of the hotel.
When we were eventually able to book in, we found the room booked for us to be quite acceptable. The resturant provided us with a very good standard of food which was well presented and typically 'French' (good!).A good place for a one-night stop-over. We were advised that our rooms would be available from 12.30. However when we arrived at 15.45 we found the hotel locked and seemingly deserted. Eventually at 16.30 'management' arrived and we were able to book in. Fortunately the weather was good, so we sat in the rather unkempt garden and waited.
Basic but clean
The staff were excellent and the food was excellant The room was basic, but clean and adequate
Chilling out on the veranda, had a great meal and lots of local wine for 4 people and it came to less than £100 with all drinks included.
Rooms are a good size with lovely comfortable beds and have duvets. Bathroom are a good size with showers & bath but are a little old fashioned with the decor. The restaurant is excellent and the staff are friendly and accommodating. Excellent car parking. This hotel is truly a little gem and we will have no hesitation in recommending. No Tea/Coffee making facilities in the room. No breakfast available when the restaurant was closed - we could not have breakfast because our stay was a sunday night and the restaurant appears not to open on monday - an alternative of a breakfast tray with a kettle and perhaps a breakfast pastry would have been welcome.
The resaurant attached to the hotel is very good. The rooms were functional, a bit dated but perfectly adequate for a 1 or 2 night stay.
Friendly staff and a pleasant rural feel. Breakfast was a little too expensive.
Very friendly staff Poor sound insulation between rooms
The manager running the place was superb, nothing short of that. Friendly, charming, helpful and very efficient. Nothing amiss. Restaurant was superb. Room were cramped but we knew that when we booked. Four cyclists sharing a room was always going to be cozy!
Location, friendliness of staff, charm Thin walls - we could hear everything said in the next room. Breakfast - great coffee, but overall a very poor value for the money - you're better off at a local café. It's a nice place to stay, but a little expensive for what you get.
The hotel projects a rustic and unfussy charm. The dinner in the restaurant (which was well attended by locals) was excellent regional French cooking; the breakfast was simple but good.
