Location, friendliness of staff, food - a true taste of Spain
Helpful friendly staff, location, wifi and good food
An absolute gem so helpful & friendly & in a lovely situation. We were made so welcome & would definitely visit again
Well furnished, exteremely clean, attractive decor. Very large room Beautiful, well designed and fully equiped bathroom No off road or private parking Breakfast not well organised
Very friendly welcome and excellent service from Roberto and his team. Really enjoyed the food. Location a good starting point for visit to Somiedo. The bar seemed to be the heart of the town. Being the heart of the town, a little noisy, but that's life.
The hotel is situated in a nice square in a lovely little town called Belmonte between hills. The quality of the food with some of the restaurants is fantastic, very fresh meat and vegetables. The view from the room we had on the frontside of the hotel was fantastic. It takes about 50 minutes driving to get to a perfect beach on the coast in a place called La Arena. Driving to the airport and the city Oviedo takes about the same time. There worked only a few people at the hotel which has also a bar and restaurant for the local people. They wanted to help us as good as possible, but there was just not enough staff to do that well. We had to wait several times way too long.
Very helpful friendly staff, great location, good food , superb breakfast.
The manager and staff of the hotel were extremely warm and friendly and anxioua to help in wahtever way they could. The atmosphere was very relaxed and informal. Whenever you appeared or passed by, you were greeted with a smile or a wave. The quality of the room was excellent. The breakfast was good. I would recommend the Gran Hotel Cela to anyone looking ofr a realxing freindly stay.
The hotel staff were lovely and did everything they could to make us feel welcome and accommodate our needs. The restaurant is particularly good, serving simple but quality, traditional Asturian food. We would definitely recommend this as a good place to stay if you want to explore the Somiedo Park in the Asturias, plus the nearby coast and also Oviedo.
The jacuzzi in our suite was a treat. The hotel was clean. Great place to stop. Good for walkers and bikers The staff and owner were very friendly. There was a good selection of food for breakfast and dinner. Enough food to feed an army. Good roads for bikers. A great place to relax
the owners of the hotel are very kind and friendly and the room was very nice. We had breakfast in the garden and the environment around the hotel is wonderfull
The owners made us both feel very welcome and were keen to share their knowledge of the area with us. The hotel has a very warm comfortable atmosphere and we felt totally relaxed there. It is a beautiful location with far reaching views and we had an enjoyable dinner both evenings in the hotel - excellent home cooking!
The hotel was beautiful and very comfortable. The owners were extremely helpful. Views from our terrace were stunning. An excellent base for exploring the area. Not so easy to find.
The proprietors are very friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. They speak perfect English and gave us lots of useful advice on where to go and what to see, The setting is peaceful and scenic. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms very clean. It was difficult to find on the first day but well worth it!
More like staying as a guest at someones's house than a hotel. Great owners.
fantastic location, very hospitable owners
Very pleasant helpful people, absolutely beautiful location, very elegant room Breakfast was continental not buffet
Great place to stay. Family that run it are very friendly. Home cooked meals are great and ideally suit those with a hearty appetite.
The staff were very helpful over our many inquiries and went to a lot of trouble to create a relaxing ambiance and quality, wholesome food for our meals. The position of this hotel is exceptional, tucked away on a lush slope with rushing streams nearby. No.
Warm friendly welcome, impeccably clean room and ensuite facilities, comfortable beds. truly incredible situation with awe inspiring mountain views and a babbling brook to lull you to sleep. If you want to have dinner in the hotel you have to book (which we hadn't - but were directed to the nearest village 4 km away, where there are several bars and restaurants to take your pick from). Continent breakfast was buffet style in a small dining room with a choice of cereals, breads, cakes and pastries, cold meats and cheeses, fruit juice and coffee. This is an amazing place and I shall definitely try to go back for a holiday since, this time, it was just an overnight stay.
Lovely old building; great location in the heart of Salas; really feeling we were off the beaten track in rural Spain
Very friendly and professional staff. Lovely place to stay!! I do wish they would get rid of the cowbell on the keys because they are too noisy!
Food good and Interior courtyard very pretty No Pool
We enjoyed the ambiance of the hotel ,its historical association and the wooded areas around.
Fun to stay in a castle, room was fine, staff were friendly despiote the lack of a common language. It was a shame that the restaurant wasn't open, but I guess they deserve a night off once in a while - it was a Sunday.
It is a 'one-off' place staying in a restored castle. It is the only place to stay in Salas really. Standards of cleanliness etc were high but a bit disappointed with the restaurant food in the evening. Breakfast was excellent. The rooms were very small but this was due the size of the castle and could not be changed.
Terrific building and lovely restaurant no
