A very friendly welcome from the staff and the walk to the bedroom from reception was through the ancient vaults that now house the extensive wine cellar. The hotel has been tastefully renovated and provides modern amenities without losing its old world charm. Dinner was excellent although a little expensive, but overall, a memorable meal with excellent service. The room allocated was rather small and the low eaves in part of the room meant that one had to be careful when moving about and getting out of bed not to hit your head. The room allocated was cetainly smaller than the photos would suggest and I would not have been happy if I had paid the full advertised price for this room.
We particularly liked quiet in hotel, lovely acessible garden and meals with flair Lack of fans or air conditioning in very hot weather, although to rear of property, by opening the door I was woken by outside noise(lorries at night) and then by hotel dog barking 6am. I am a light sleeper. .
This hotel was amazing! The staff was excellent and very helpful, especially considering that we did not speak much French. The room (street side) was very clean and had a jacuzzi tub in it. The indoor pool, sauna, and steam room were some of the nicest I have ever used. it s also in central Rochefort, which is a very nice town.
Great location right in Rochefort, walking distance to great restaurants. We stayed in the older part of the building and our room had interesting roof angles but still modern amenities including good sized bed and bathroom. Loved the the place had a pool and private parking. Parking was a little difficult to find and the pool was too cold
Interesting historical building, which has been nicely renovated. The hotel has a nice garden and is located conveniently in the town center. The room was extremely small and the ceiling too low. I think the room was a bit overpriced for what it offered.
Beautiful decor, excellent restaurant, friendly owner and staff, convenient parking.
Lovely people, great food, excellent service. Perfectly located in the centre of the village.
amazingly refurbished, fantastically clean - great atmosphere in an old building but brought up to modern standards. Very good restaurant. Great service. One of the best places I have stayed in for a long, long time.
The staff were excellent. The hotel was suberb, the decor, the room were outstanding, could not recommend this hotel highly enough. Will certainly go back there very soon. How could you not like this wonderful hotel.
The location was made us pick this hotel. The gardens were beautiful, but if you didn't eat breakfast or have a garden view room it was hard to appreciate them, The management was not responsive to requests for a fan in a very warm room. Just shrugged and said no one else complained or needed a fan, but we could see that other guests had fans in their windows, so it is a problem. Don't get room 430.
even though 2 years old kind, they charged normal fee (Eur14.00)as breakfast fee. so total 4 pepole incluidng two kinds, we had to pay Eur56.00. it's too expensive....
beautiful location. Breakfast excellent. We did not have evening meal but the menu looked very good No. We would probably book again and this time stay a little longer
the place looks very nice the blanket was dirty with hair (YAK!) and the hotel made us pay 10 euro more than what we were seposed to- and couldnt say why (also becouse they dont speek English at all!) the price was 125 +tax on the web' and they wanted us to pay 180!!!! at the end they agreed that we pay 140 - and that is also too much. we got out with a very bad feeling
Bautiful garden, excellent food, nice staff
This is a real historic building well situated in great nature. The restaurant is a must. I had the 5 course dinner and it was just great. Most GPS systems do not lead you directly to the hotel
-Huge room, very friendly staff, nice surrounding area (park) -The hotel is old and our room was even leaking water from the room above, hotel is definitely overpriced
we only stayed for one night,it was very comfortable, great food proved more expensive than we expected
beautiful rooms and friendly staff difficult stairway in part of chateau - difficult for children to walk up.
antiques in the hotel cold in the bathroom
It is hard to determine what we liked best about the Chateau de Vignee, the rooms, the staff, or the restaurant. We stayed here during a beer tour of the Trappist Monasteries in SW Belgium and were sorry that we only stayed one night. The hotel is a classic old stone farm house with 4 wings surrounding a central courtyard. We ate dinner in the hotel dining room and had a Michelin quality full french 3 course dinner with an endless pour of a fantastic French Grand Cru.... Excellent stay.. We had 3 rooms including one suite with a large sitting area and fireplace... The hotel is firmly placed in French speaking Belgium. The night staff that checked us in and took care of us at dinner spoke good English but the checkout during the morning took all of the French that we spoke. Americans will find the European style bathtub with hand held shower sprayer and no shower curtain to take a bit of learning.. but the tubs were huge as were the bathrooms so its worth the slight bit of extra effort.
Very friendly welcome. Very convenient location. Quiet. Good food. Ideal overnight stop-over on the way home.
Small and cosy hotel, with a good restaurant. Even though it's located in an intersection, the village is quiet and no heard traffic noise. The staff was very helpful in providing info about things to do in the area. Breakfast is rather simple.
Very clean and spacious rooms. Has a pool billard table that can be used for free. Modern and new interior. Friendly staff. Hotel has enough free parking very close by. Breakfast buffet could have had a bit more to choose from. We had a room towards the road where you could here people talking outside (it's a quiet village though, so it wasn't too bad)
A small hotel but located on the main square near restaurents, ideal for overnight staysP Parking could be a problem
Lovely, modern hotel. Huge rooms with fantastic soft furnishings.
The service was excellent and the staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious, clean and pretty. All furniture and appliances were in as-new condition. I would absolutely recommend and would come back again. A remarkable value for money and very well earned three stars. The only drawback was insufficient equipment in the bathroom - there was virtually no space for toiletries other than the sink. However, I moved one of the night tables to the bathroom, which the hotel staff respected and did not move it back :) I really enjoyed the possibility to play pool, however - the table is located in an area directly neighbouring with one of the guest rooms, therefore it's not recommended to use it in the early mornings or late evenings. Also, if you are irritated by sounds and plan to stay in during the day, it may be better to make sure you are not placed in that room.
The breakfast was OK, but it is the only one good thing. Bathroom in my room needs complete renovation, Internet was slow and working only in restaurant, which was closing at 11 pm.
Room with bunk beds for child
We arrived only just in time for dinner but staff were so helpful and the food was superb! nothing
My stay was just overnight on transit to my main location, this was OK for the purpose Car [arking was a distance from the hotel
Nice hotel close to Grottes with exellent breakfast
Food and value for money. Lifts, very scruffy and out dated. Stuffed animals nearly everywhere, not to everyone's taste.
food was quite good general condition of the building was not as you would expect for the start of the season.
Nice spacious room. Clean bathroom. Good breakfast! WiFi connection didn't work. Reception desk is not open in the evening.
Nice place, central location, very good breakfast. No one spoke English. Card payment terminal did not work.
Friendly hosts. Plerasant village location. Need to drive out to obtain dinner as owhere in walking distance.
After a very long journey from Munich, the bed we slept on provided us with a sound nights sleep, it was extremely comfortable. Our hosts Jan and Anneka, were friendly and spoke excellent english. Our breakfast was wonderful, fresh rolls straight from the bakery . The decor was a bit dated, But owners doing up gradually
Personel service by the owner and breakfast in the garden douche facility is not perfect
Was there for only a few hours but the stay was very comfortable.
location proximity of church (bells), separate bathroom
The owners of this very old hotel did everything to preserve the spirit and atmosphere of the place. No luxury of course but a wonderful relaxing experience. The garden is magnificent!
The cleanliness, location, good service, pet-friendly
Lovely old building in a beautiful setting. Very kind host and hostess, friendly and chatty. Provided beer in the evening in the beautiful peaceful garden, where we also had breakfast next morning. Very enjoyable stay. The only downside is that, although the location is very nice, there is not mcuh choice where to eat nearby. We ended up going to a local campsite, which actually has a pretty good restaurant and bar.
Very friendly, excelent value we will come back
Excellent breakfast. Friendly, helpful hosts. Beautiful garden and communal rooms. Interesting place. Comfortable bed. Basic room and bathroom. Nowhere to eat close to hotel the night we stayed.
