It was a fine hotel for the money, you get what you pay for. Seemed clean enough but clearly they didn't do a ton of maintenance. The TV was 20 years old, but we didn't need that really. the "continental breakfest" was a little weak, but for 70 bucks it was a decent value.
nothing Everything The room was dirty the snow wasn't plowed and there was ice I almost slipped and fell. No towels in room and the heat wasn't working it was freezing the beds were lumpy and the soap was not use able.
They go out of their way to please you. New ownership is working hard to upgrade, Good location very near Rockford and state park.
price After trying to for 30min to get a hot shower I gave up. I told the hotel manager who then proceeded to check the hot water in the hotel from a running sink in the lobby as if he didn't believe me. He then apologized but it wasn't sincere and did not even offer to provide any form of compensation. When I arrived to inform him of this, he was on the phone walking around the lobby on a personal call speaking Indian while another woman, that looked like his wife, was eating breakfast. I had to wait for him to finish his personal phone call in another language. These managers need some customer service training big time.
Everything was just terrible. The hotel was dirty and stunk really bad and the staff wasn't any better. They were more interested in being on their phones. Carpet was very dirty in the rooms.
Room was clean, I got there a little early and a room wasn't ready so they got one cleaned up immediately. No Fridge, no microwave in room. I had left my jacket in the room and I called, was put on hold and hung up on twice, third time I called and got through, was told there was no jacket left. Called two days later and tried again, knowing I left it in the room, they finally found it. Made a special trip to drive all the way back up there (when I could have went back immediately had it been found the first time). My pockets had been rummaged through, although nothing was missing, everything wasn't where I left it so they were obviously looking for something, despite the fact they had my name/number on file, so if they were looking for ID for the coat they knew my room, and aside from that they never called to tell me it was found to begin with. It's ultimately my fault for leaving my coat, and I'm happy to get it back, but I wish the circumstances were better.
Clean, comfortable motel very close -- walking distance -- to shopping, restaurants, and highways.
