It was very relaxing and served well by the staff with balconies facing a gorgeous view, with plenty of walks and possibilities to go bird watching. The breakfast buffet could have a wider range of fresh fruit and squeezed juices
Found it via their directions easily.Check in/out was efficient and breakfast was great. Only things lacking were a hospitality tray and a hair drier
The breakfast, the location.... This year, again travelling with a dog and cat, I was asked to not leave the pets in the room. For me that meant I could not dine in the hotel. Understand there can be a problem with barking dogs, but as a caring dog owner I would never leave a nervous dog anyway. I did find an other place to eat and bring the dog, so no problem for me.
Good staff, very clean, very modern.
Excellent rooms with balconies overlooking port and coastline, with views to Delta del'Ebre and lighthouse parking in basement extremely narrow access - don't take any large vehicle.
We received a friendly welcome with good instructions to find underground garage - the room was comfortable and well equipped. The hotel was well situated in a quiet location but 10 minutes from quais and restaurants. Bar staff could have been a bit more welcoming.
location excellent - near town but not noisy, near stony beach but within walking distance of sandy beach; took us less than 15 minutes to walk from train station to hotel with wheely bags - easy to get to. wide range of breakfast, plenty of staff on hand to clear up as we went through buffet! we did not have any small children but very child-friendly hotel. in spite of all this, very quiet! price of restaurant menu seemed dear, we ate out apart from breakfast. all in all, value for money.
The location, the hotel lobby, the local seafood restaurants, the coastal walks.
nice hotel, good location, friendly staff despite several requests the hot water never got above tepid and the room heating was very ineffectual
The castle has a great view location sitting on a hill above the city and with a view of the river. Do not waste your money eating in the restaurant. Our meal was the most expensive one we had in Spain and also the worst. Skip the restaurant and make the effort to go down the hill into the city to eat anywhere else.
beautiful setting; very traditional; good service from staff setting of pool was disappointing
The location was great if you are arriving by car. Wonderful setting, stunning view and great atmosphere in an old castle.
The bar served excellent wine with good service. The atmosphere and the facilities at the castle are excellent. It is such a nice place to be in. We also loved the room and the terrace. You could easily spend days just enjoying the place! The gates close for the night?
spacious, air conditioned room with excellent bathroom.good restaurant would not allow discount because id not booked via their website
Pleasant ambience and good restaurant Steps to negotiate with luggage. Tortosa was not a very intersting place.
Unusual setting. Good view from room. Breakfast very good variety. Free internet very useful the staff serving dinner- they didn't smile or make us feel welcome. The food for dinner was not hot and only average quality which was a great shame. Breakfast too expensive
the location and the proximity of the Elbe Laguna there should be a second door between the sleeping room and the floor....unfortunately you wake up everytime people are passing in the floor talking ......
Excellent location. Good rooms. Excellent breakfast although not clear whether any cooked food was available. Inside of the bathroom door was shabby and in need of repair. Dining room staff could smile now and then. Some of the food at dinner ruined by over zealous grilling.
Beautiful parador. Rooms have a large balcony. Nice pool. The town below the parador has to be the ugliest run down place ive ever seen. Michelin gives the town 2 stars, I would give it none.
Comfortable, clean rooms, very good bathroom. Good value
The Hotel was ok and staff were very helpful, and it was close to the City. The only problem at the Hotel. There was no restaurant, and no bar.The morning breakfast was served in a small like cafeteria.
Very close to Tortosa station and bus station and ancient and historic city centre. Comfortable good sized room including bath and good continental breakfast available. Met our specification for regional travel on public transport and city historic buildings very well. Lack of character, very basic and, apart from breakfast, no out of room facilities. Was a challenge finding a reasonable priced restaurant close by at night. No information for tourists or computer to access the internet. (believe wifi was available).
The staff were helpful and pleasant There was no outside space to enjoy during rest times
very clean, new and good location. breakfast should have been included in the price
A/C did not go very high. . .
It was convenient for our trip and easy to find
Excellent food and welcome!
Easy to check in and out. Breakfast was quick and simple buffet style. Towels changed daily, and room clean. Easy to add an extra nights stay at the end of mu 5 nights. Asked for a smoking room, but received non-smoking. Tax added on the price quoted on the website, so cost more than anticipated.
Value for money, reasonable restaurant Breakfast starts at 07:30h, too late
The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. I have stayed at the hotel before and would do so again. One of the features of the hotel is that is has good parking facilities which is not the case with the other three star hotels in the town. However, this was spoilt by the inconiderate parking of other guests and the hotel could do more to ensure that people park correctly and do not create problems for other guests
Good size, comfortable, clean rooms. Pleasant sit out area with pool.
most everything Would be better nearer the motorway-doh!
very large room, quiet, very good value staff were polite and had OK english, but were not very efficient or proactive
Smoking in the hotel
Easy to find by car (directly at the C-12), useful for trips to the area. Large room. Traffic noise in front of the window (directly at the C-12), have ear plugs ready or ask for a room towards the courtyard. No breakfast buffet on my first day ("not enough people"), I could order everything but this is of course different from a real buffet.
Beautiful village and countryside
Staff were very helpful sometimes the language barrier at certain times of day meant you had to await for another member of staff to come on a shift to answer a question, but where always pleasant about this and very apologetic, the food was excellent every morning afternoon and evening and plentyful even when some of our friends returned late from racing. Staff at all times even down to the maid where very curtious and helpful when ever we had a small problem. The bar staff where excellent to The pool was very clean, and towels available for a small fee. But a beautiful hotel set in picturesque surroundings. We would all definately visit there again when ever in Northern Spain and is also very good value for money, Sometimes on main reception not always enough staff to cope with arrivals, when ever telephone booking came in, so quite often had to wait for member of staff who could understand english to help, but where always apologetic and always helpful. The problem with flys possibly due to the rural surroundings in room and around public places ie bar and even in the resturant at times possibly needed more fly netting or fly zapper units. It was for us along way to travel as we had to travel from Alicaniz 45 kilometres away so this made our journey to and from the hotel quite a trek, but was worth it for the calming surroundings. There was only one taxi service available in the area of hotel so it was very much in demand, as would liked to have explored the area more. But the service with the taxi was excellent and personal I wish them good luck with the business but they may need another car available.
The hotel is in a delightfull location with staff who couldn't have been more helpfull. Good food. A very relaxing place to stay.
It was clean staff where pleaseant good value I need to drive to the reception it was to far to walk as the driveway was blocked
Beautiful setting and lovely people. All the staff were incredibly helpful, with places to visit and with a mixture of Spanish, Catalan and English, we all got along. There were no bad points.
Clean rooms, helpful staff, nice area Lack of toilet roll replacement
Pleasant welcome. The room was spotless and warm and the bathroom facilities and fittings first class. Food, both dinner and breakfast were excellent. Beautiful dining room. Despite our lack of Spanish, the staff made us feel very comfortable. Like staying in a well loved country home but with hotel facilities. Very minor point but would have liked an English speaking news channel on the T.V. Perhaps SKY/CNN/BBC. Did not affect our enjoyment of the hotel as we were only staying one night en-route to the south.
Good location, ample variety breakfast included restaurant nor snack bar not open for meal after arrival
hotel is using false marketing - internet wifi network is not working, we spent 1 hour of trying to connect, people in the reception were not speaking a word English, quite a bad service
Close to town centre with good secure parking so ideal for people travelling across Spain with a car full of possessions Can be noisy at night due to close proximity of local bars that get very busy at weekends. Hotel fixtures and fittings and decor are tired. It would benefit from a facelift.
the parking was good the noise from the room next door tv on till 5 in the morning
break-fast very good in the room there was smells of cigarettes
The close proximity to the town and parks. Excellant buffet breakfast, hotel very clean and friendly staff. The two steep stairs from the street to the reception area, and no porters to help carry up your luggage. No good for a disables,
Size of the single beds. Too many steps into reception
The hotel is in a conveniant location, easy to find with secure off-road parking. The room was comfortable and clean, the staff were very friendly and a very good breakfast was included. The hotel is very good value considering the central location. no
Not much. The person on reception was the only pleasant thing about the hotel. the rooms were compact and unfortunately the first room we were given the air con didn't work so we were given a different room. Although there was a window in our room this opened onto an enclosed square facing onto other rooms windows. Horrible!
Very clean and well appointed.
I originally wanted to stay in Calaiceite with my family (4) but the hotel there did not have the family room available. I looked at closed properties and I found Can Josep...What a find! Maria y Jose treated us like family and were patient with us and my 5 years old. We stayed here a Monday and we did the Green Way (la Via Verde) for 3 miles (5KM). It was spectacular. Josep rents the bikes and you ride over an old rail road, now paved. what a view and experience. The restaurant in the hotel is fantastic! Josep is a great cook and he has good wines as well. the selection of dishes is adequate. The rooms are good and comfortable. Josep also served as a guide and drove us from la Fontcalda to the Hotel. He gave us good advice about neighbor towns. If you are like me during a route through Pueblos Lindos in Spain!!! This stop is a must!! you won't regret it! AC was not set up due to the season change
