Difficult to find initially. No smoke detectors or fire protection noted. Good up hill walk from town. Spa pictures not realistic, very small and lack any real function. Hotel sits in a heavily developed area not on an open hill as the pictures show.
The Hotel was ok,The Family owner are very gentle. The parking area was little difficult,I had no problem, but it is little difficult.
the staffs are willing to help the hotel is far from the transportation center (30 min by walk) and the town center (15 min by walk); the booking.com's price is higher than other guests check-in & check-out on the same day.
We enjoyed the view. For 12 days we would have liked to be on the mountain side with a sunny balcony. The breakfasts were excellent.
The view of Berchtesgaden from the balcony is spectacular. Everyone can enjoy the same view from the breakfast terrace (if their balcony faces a different way). Excellent breakfast buffet. The walk from the railway station is long and steep and impossible after a day's sightseeing. A taxi ride is required as the bus only runs until 6.15 pm. (Summer season). We didn't mind as the views from the hotel more than made up for it but other guests should be aware.
Very Bavarian look to the hotel. It had recently been painted and updated. Beautiful view.
Nice family sized room for the three of us and probably could have accomodated another person on the couch. All hotels in Europe were hard to find...this was no exception. One way street.
Location was very good for the views of the mountains and access to the town . The bed was to small for a six foot person.
A pleasant hotel to stay as were staff. The room we stayed in was on the top floor and the ceiling slopped and in was very easy to bang your head. Parking is very limited. If hotel was over half full you would struggle to park anywhere nearby.
A very nice country style hotel with very good breakfast
Very welcoming hosts. We could share a laugh in spite of language barriers. The meals were excellant homemade fare. Beware - huge portions! We arrived by train and discovered it was a bit of a trek to get to the hotel on the edge of the town. However, after that the Hotel provided us with free passes for the bus which helped a lot up until the last bus each day at 7:30 pm. After that we took a taxi!
1. Well-wishing host and all staff 2. Very good cuisine 3. Comfortable locating 1. Paucity of electrical sockets
Close to great hiking trails, and near the Salt Mine. The family was very pleasant, spoke some English. Breakfast was great. Walk into Berchtesgaden was about 10 minutes. Got a free bus pass.
Good value, all OK
The location. It was not comfortable. For example, We did not have soap.
We stayed one night. Excellent location. The rooms are adequately sized. The staff (dad, mom and son) were a joy to interact with considering our no German and their limited English. Very good food for dinner. Included continental breakfast with terrific coffee hit the spot. free Wireless internet access was a surprise! All-in-all a very delightful stay!
Passing through on our journey to Croatia No
The price The hotel is a typical German basic hotel. No ammenities in the bathroom, bring your own stuff including hair dryer if you need one. If you drive bring your own pillow, and don't expect a gourmet breakfast.
Location. The hotel seems quite dated and the food was okay at best.
The proximity to the sites was great, we were really close. It was noisy at night and I didn't get much sleep. The wait staff at the restaurant was not very friendly and weren't helpful. They were really slow, it took us 2 hours from start to finish, and we had to get our dessert to go b/c we were tired of sitting there waiting.
Beautiful location, nice breakfast, friendly desk staff
Very nice pool, sauna, solarium. Location is very easy to find/access. Good value for the $ Rooms were spartan but sufficient. 10-15min. walk to get to interesting part of town.
The perfect place to be for a tour like our's (WWII).
Great staff, especially Zybnek, Luci and Thomas.
The location was great. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. It was pretty easy to find. The bed was uncomfortable, and the breakfast wasn't all that.
