9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had a truly lovely evening meal in the restaurant, the food was excellent. Pity this place is so far from home, otherwise we would like to eat there regularly
Cons: We arrived early and had hoped to watch the football, but there was no television available
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was an overnight stop on our way south and the fact that we tried to book for our return journey before we left should say it all - unfortunately, L'Estaminet was fully booked for the date we wanted, but we will return on a future trip. Our dogs were given the warmest of welcomes and even treated for fromage frais (in china bowls) for breakfast, The hotel is traditional, comfortable and a relatively short distance from the motorway. The highlight, however, was our meal, I commented that my smoked salmon starter was the best I have ever tasted and was told that chef and proprietor Cedrick does his own smoking - delicious as was the rest of the meal and it was amazing value for money. We look forward to a return visit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely quite area of France in a little village. We had a great stay! Our room was quiet, comfortable with spacious bathroom. We did not realize we needed to book for dinner, however they made room for us. So glad we did...the food was amazing and great value. The wine list was huge.

Pros: We loved the restaurant. The owner and chef was a good host. Food was great.
Cons: Room was a bit small as was the bed but all in all a very comfortable stay.
6.3 Good
Pros: The Hotel itself, room, shower, lunchroom looks good in french style. At all it was clean. The boss did everything a very intense worker.
Cons: The staff didn't have the french charm - doesn't much which culture. In break-fast the hotel gives you two 500 gr jam pot, which surely a lot of people put their licked spoon inside - I couldn't use it because of that - this should be forbidden. Check-in time very short between 17:00 and 20:00.

Pros: Cluny is a wonderful, magical small town and Le Potin Gourmand is a perfect place to stay. A huge room, very warm and with a balcony onto the medieval courtyard. 7.5 Good
Pros: I think it was the equilivent of the Agritourismos in Italy, so if you like farm atmosphere it's fine
Cons: We accidentally got booked into a cabin 100 meters from the shared bath with only an outhouse nearby. Luckily there was a room in the main house but be careful as the listing is very vague about the cabin. The husband showed up thirty minutes late to check us in and gave us the wrong wifi network which meant no internet until the wife came by in the morning,

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is rare that an overnight stay becomes such an integral and essentially central part of the travel experience - but so it was. We have spent a magical weekend in Burgundy focusing on the medieval heritage of this amazing region, and Maison Romane was by itself a point of interest and admiration for the beautiful preservation work and design of the owners. To top that with impeccable cleanliness, warmest welcome with an aperitif and a snack and a plentiful breakfast !
Cons: Nothing. People having trouble with medieval spiral staircases should carefully consider.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was very welcoming and helpful. The room and the whole building are amazing and full of character.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved everything about this unique property. An amazing host who provides everything you need including welcome drink and snacks and a wonderful breakfast. Perfect in every way!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were given the family room which was a curious and intriguing space on 3 levels. As a listed building marvellous old features like hidden doors, windows and winding stairs were left while a modern bathroom and kitchen where installed for comfort. Interesting furniture and fabric decorated the rooms making them wonderful to be in. Great location in the centre of Cluny.
Cons: Nothing. However the spiral stone staircase to the rooms is unavoidably steep and some treads quite narrow. This cannot be changed and is in itself beautiful, but it could prove difficult for the less able bodied.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything exceeded expectations, the room was quiet, charming, comfortable and spacious, we were given a very warm welcome and a wonderful breakfast. The owners have restored this historic building beautifully, retaining the character yet providing all the mod cons. We were able to park directly outside the property and the location was great being in the centre of Cluny close to restaurants, the church and the Abbey.
Cons: nothing could be improved the room was exceptional.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best location in this lovely town. Claire was fun and friendly and helpful beyond the call of duty. Cluny is very special, particularly at night.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was fine, and the location is superb, only 150 m from the Cluny Abbey. It's a very cute restauration from a building a couple of centuries old, where some rooms look out onto the abbey. The staff were friendly and didn't insist on working the conversation from my halting French to English or German. It definitely has an "alternative" atmosphere, and the price was great.
Cons: Parking is do-it-yourself, but we got lucky.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Spacious and clean rooms, nicely furnished. Delicious breakfast, great location and forthcoming, friendly host.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A quirky, interesting bed and breakfast in the heart of the old quarter next to the Abbey. Our host was very welcoming and continental breakfast was good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was spacious, quiet, clean, comfortable and so neatly decorated with local items from the past. The breakfast was delicious while enjoying the company of the hostess. The location is perfect - in the heart of a historic Bourgogne village. We traveled by car and parking was easy. The "main street" just outside the lodging was full of traditional shops, bakeries and delicatessens. We were completely satisfied with our stay and will definitely stay again when in the area!

9.4 Excellent (66 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Cluny, La Maison Tupinier is within a 15-minute drive of Cluny Abbey and Chateau de Cormatin.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The owner/proprietor is either wonderful (informed, exotic, friendly) or annoying (talks too much, doesn't care much about guest comforts). It all depends on your point of view. If you want to spend time with an eccentric with good English who knows a great deal about Cluny and is entertaining, this is your dream accommodation. If you want good internet, flexible breakfast time, and mechanical equipment that works, stay away.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Antiques in the rooms. Good breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Luke is an amazing host of a beautiful house with lots of space for guests and great rooms, in the heart of the town of Cluny. Very dog friendly and great breakfast. Superb recommendations for dinner and sights. A great place to stay!

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great hostest. Great location and was easy to park close by when we visited. Quirky but very tasteful decore. And was cool for sleeping even in the heat wave while we were there. Spotlessly clean. Very good simple french breakfast including home baking. Hostest who had very limited english made a huge effort to talk slow french to my wife who is learning french
Cons: The shower was hand held over a bath
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great room, in the centre of Cluny. Wonderfull breakfast.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very stylish, very clean and the kids love their room. Very nice breakfast in an even nicer room. Great place for a one night stop on your way to the south, and Cluny is a very nice place to visit!
Cons: The bathroom is beautiful but hugely impractical for a quick shower: only a bathtub with no shower curtain and nowhere to hang the showerhead. There is a coffee making facility but really no place to plug it in besides in the bathroom, and only one regular coffee sachet. To go to bathroom/toilet one must pass through the childrens room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful breakfast. Genial host. Perfect location for visiting the town and monastery ruins of Cluny. There are even parts of this historical house in the museum! Stylish and thoughtful accommodation, cleanly presented. Very good value for money. Skip the chains and support the individual owners instead who offer far more bang for your buck!
Cons: The only thing missing would be an overhead shower. It is handheld from the bath and not so easy to use.
