The new beds are extremely comfortable. The new showers are superb! The fruit at breakfast time was not very fresh.....a disappointing experience.
Easy to find and secure. The restaurant was good. Breakfast is very expensive at 14 euros.
Price of the room, the cleanliness, the family room at no extra cost, the free breakfast for the kids No
for a short trip or stopover this hotel was perfect. good parking facilities, restaurant onsite (although a little over-priced) kind staff who could speak good english for us non-french speakers! and thoughful gift for the childeren when we arrived..although we stayed again two weeks later and got the same gift!! but not complaining! overall would use this hotel again for sure. not really any problems at all
The room had two side-by-side twin fold out beds, which were very good for our children. Good value for the money if you're looking for a place to stay along the highway. We receive a good recommendation for a restaurant close to the hotel.
Good location and easy to find
welcoming staff, good breakfast, green area bedroom small for 4 people
The hotel is new and very nice. I highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a good night's sleep at an affordable rate. There was plenty of room for our family of 4. The hotel is probably less than a kilometer from the Lorraine US WWII military cemetary, which is one of the most beautiful and moving places I've ever been. Saint Avold is a charming town and we thoroughly enjoyed the Louisianna restaurant. If you are looking for a quaint hotel with a lot of charm. This is not the place for you.
Very convenient for the French motorway network on the outskirts of St Avold. There are spacious, well cared for grounds surrounding the accommodation. The range of food & pricing was poor in comparison to local restaurants/other hotel chains.
restaurant, food was great. beds were comfortable, reception very helpful. think the walls in the rooms "white rough cast" finish didnt do the decor justice as the hotel is very nice for short stay. Annoying flies in the dining area.
Clean and friendly. Very convenient for motorway. Simple rooms, doubles and large enough.Good price. One downfall was only one bath size towel and one hand towel in the room.
Restaurant quality was better than expected. Matress had hollow shape.
Again first class with the staff very helpful and friendly. Look forward to returning next year.
Very clean, plenty hot water, great bathroom and comfortable facilities overall. Restaurant nearby.
close to the motorway, but not a motorway hotel - this was a convenience stop and for a 2 star hotel met the requirement the matresses and room smelled of tobacco
Convenient location Not walking distance to town
easy to locate, good to have a ground floor unit
The attached restaurant is quite good. The rooms stank of cigarette smoke, our clothes reeked of smoke, and we are non smokers. The mattresses would have benefited from the occasional turn over, but sadly it was too late for the ones we were on.. Very bad. The bathrooms were dirty. A bit of bleach once in a while gets rid of mould.
The reception staff were very helpful. The service in the restaurant.
This is the third time we have stayed at the hotel. We look forward to staying here again in 2011. Staff were just great. Food excellent. Well done
The Chateau is a prime example of elegant shabby chic. It is more of a private home than a hotel. Our host is very gracious and helpful. He sent us to probably one of the most unpretentious and fabulously delicious restaurants for dinner just a few kilometer's away. Our room and bed were comfortable. Lorraine is a beautiful and very rural part of France fortunately not as touristy as Alsace. Perfect place for those who want to hike or bike. If you are looking for a wonderful truly french experience go to this Chateau! Breakfast was only bread and coffee. You could pay a bit more for eggs and ham but need to tell the host the night before.
The hosts were friendly and helpful. They made us feel right at home in their B&B which is really a very large, old chateau with an intriguing history. No. But some people might find it a little remote.
We liked everything...The atmosphere surrounding the Chateau was graceful and welcoming, and the grounds were a feast for the eyes . Rooms were spotless & very comfortable, and the hosts immediately made us feel at home, plus, the home-made gourmet specialties were wonderful. Will most definetly go back for a longer stay.
nice staff, clean room, free parking wifi a bit difficoult
David the owner makes you feel very welcome and if you wish you can join him at his table for dinner, which is excellently cooked by his wife using produce from the estate or local suppliers (delicious!) Our room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel has lots of charm and is in a beautiful location
Cheap & easy to reach hotel - very basic. It's comparable to the F1 hotels, but I liked the fact that the sanitary facilities were in the room.
Nothing No air-con despite material suggesting that there was. Right by motorway. This is similar to a Formule 1 operation excpet ther is a receptionist. Unless all you want is a cheap bed fo rth enight then avoid.
Cheap place, fairly clean, practical, good connection (close to the highways) A bit noisy, due to the closeness to the highways
On arrival it was found that the computer system had reserved two rooms not one. However the second room was deleted from the system and I am pleased to say there was no suggestion that the duplicate booking was my fault.
no service after 9 pm
sort of run down.
This is a cheap hotel in a small town near a motorway. The place is really nice. Free parking.
close to the highway, cheap, good value for money, you can check in/out anytime too small rooms, too law ceiling for the upper bank, too small bathroom
I stayed for one night during a road trip from Calais, France to Ancona, Italy. It is a nice located hotel for road travelers who want to spend a night and keep going in the morning. Next to the Autoroute, easy secure parking etc.Very cheap. I found only a triple room available, but the price was far cheaper than single rooms in other hotels Very small rooms. No reception during the night. Very minimal breakfast. Little (up to nothing at all) knowledge of English language from the staff. A budget hotel not for many nights, just to have a sleep and go.
Staff was friendly and happy to help. The room was terribly small and stank of cigarette smoke. It was impossible to allow fresh air into the room by opening a window due to the very noisy motorway. The bedding was old and showed cigarette burns and the breakfast 'buffet' was little more than a cup of coffee and a piece of toast.
