My boyfriend and I came to Berkeley to see a concert at the Greek Theatre and the Knights Inn was the perfect place to stay. It's within walking distance of a bunch of places to eat and is also about a mile/mile and a half away form the Telegraph and UC Berkeley. Management was very nice. Although the rooms are a little small, they were very clean and seemed recently updated. There's free parking right outside your room which was a major plus. The environment was decently quiet besides the traffic. Definitely worth the price.

Good rooms, a little far from downtown
The room was basically clean and included a good selection of amenities like a fridge and microwave. There are several restaurants within walking distance, plus a BART (subway) station, and there's a Zipcar parking lot right next to the motel for those who can use them.
It's a little far from downtown, but still not bad. Also, this is a minor thing, but in many cases if I wasn't out of the room by 9 AM or so, it wouldn't get cleaned. The front lobby has very little space, and parking is cramped.

The Red Lion Knights Inn in Berkeley is a budget motel located close to the University campus. It was previously known as the Howard Johnson by Wyndham Hotels before being sold to the Red Lion Group as part of their spin-off strategy.
The Red Lion Knights Inn enjoys a prominent location that places it within easy access of the UC Berkeley campus and the BART public transportation network. The Cesar Chavez State Park and Oakland Zoo stand within a short driving distance of the hotel.
