We received a very warm welcome at this lovely hotel
Chateau style building, nice pool and bar. Good food. First floor rooms much bigger than second. Carpets a bit shabby in public areas.
A very nice place to stay, with little touches that make it a pleasant stay
Simple, comfortable, friendly, excellent food, attentive service
Ideal location, welcoming staff, and comfortable accommodation - would certainly return Unfortunately the restaurant was not open, but the one recommended was excellent and we understand owned by the hotel and within easy reach.
Pool, setting in a historic town, welcome, friendly owners Shower is difficult to use
The Best. The food was exceptional!
A beautifully restored small chateau. tastefully done; an excellent meal; very friendly owners and staff. We'll be back!
great location, fabulous food...and very attractive village on your doorstep
Super location, neat pool ,excellent communications. No.
CONVENIENCE, WONDERFUL OWNERS ESPECIALLY CELENE, GREAT LOCATION
Pleasant reception. Tranquil country setting, with excellent view from room. Good sized and well designed room and bathroom. Short drive on repaved road to Sarlat. Reasonable breakfast given that we were one of only two customers. BBC sports. Wifi good. No air conditioning despite 30C weather in April - 'too early in season to turn on'. Thankfully, windows opened and room cooled off in night.
Friendly staff, exceptionally helpful, beautiful location. None
Friendly family run. no
The hotel is located in a pastoral rural surrounding, easy to find due to clear signs. Nice and quite spacious room, well equiped with a large table, coffee/tea facilities, LCD television, effective airconditioning. Well equipped, very neat bathroom. Excellent bed. Breakfast is more than adequate for its cost.
quiet peaceful and relaxing close to all dordognes attractions. sorry to leave but itinery only allowed 4 nights
Location wonderful, hotel, layout and design excellant, friendliness of owners and staff, excellant, general comfort superb Shower facility in room 27 poor. No shower curtain so room soaked every time we used the shower.
Location superb Breakfast not good value for money charged. In fact, in France the cost of breakfast is becoming a major add-on to the room cost - 30% or more. Hotel could do with restaurant in view of location. Owner plans to add in future.
Excellent hotel, although I recommend spending extra for an upgrade from the standard room.
Quality of rooms and the vistas from the hotel .Superb swimming pool. Great food. Not Applicable
the hotel is a nice villa in a quite location. the room was big nicely decorated. there was not a free table for us for dinner in the first evening and nobody told us that the restaurant would be closed in the second evening. we didnt have breakfast because we thought the price was too expensive for what you get .
Almost everything but the owner to greedy
Great location (nice stones, very quiet, close to Sarlat/Gourdon) - very nice and spacious rooms. Friendly staff. Absolutely nothing to comment.
We loved this place. It was full of old world charm and the food was wonderful. The service was good and we would certainly return.
Very friendly. The family room was a little basic, but comfortable and clean. Frank the Maitre-D was wonderful! The food was superb! Only that there was no door or curtain that separated the shower & sink room to the bedroom. This was in the family room. The hotel was surrounded by trees that put the hotel in the shade at certain times during the day. They really could do with being cut back a little. Almost jungle-like.
The welcome, the service and friendliness of staff and the overall cleanliness of the hotel; quality of the food
The hotel's setting was ideal - very central to the area we wished to explore and quietly located. The restaurant, terrace and all communal areas were well appointed, and the room price was very reasonable. The hotel has electric toilets, which could have been a problem at night with inconsiderate fellow guests. However, we were lucky. We did not like the plastic shower, although it worked well (good flow) and was very clean. With a small outlay (notably on new bedspreads and towels) this hotel could be in another league.
Nice and quiet location close to beauticul places like La Roque Gageac. Definitely recommended for couples. Very nice terrasse and food.
Very friendly and accomodating owner.
the most fun we have had in years laughed so much franc oliver the owner was the nicest funniest sweetest man ever he went out of his way with the food beacuase of my food allergies and the meals were superb would highly recomend the hotel merci franc xx
the country side are quite and comfortable. not so convenience in the neighborhood
The beautiful terrace and easy parking overloooking the river Dordogne. The friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. The excellent position for visiting this lovely area. Rooms were poorly lit and gloomy. The furnishings were basic and could have been much improved at small cost with a little imagination. The advertised wifi only worked in the dining room. We stayed for a week, but after poor steaks the first night did not eat there again.
The Area Need a bit of French knowledge as menu is in French with no English translation and my French was not enough to help but was not a bad thing on hotels part as they could speak a little English but could help people to know before booking.
It is a nice establishment with a lovely terrace for dining in a quaint old building. The food and service were very good. The staff was very helpful. The room was a little small.
The professional running of the Hotel by the owners, who were kind cosiderate and very helpful. The food was the best we had ever experienced we would definately go there again and spread the word. No
Calm area with sphere. Delicous dinner. Madrass in bed is not bad, but it coud have a better comfort.
It has the best restaurant we ate in during our week in France. Exceptional value for the standard of food. Would have no problem in reccommending. Very friendly staff.
The hotel is charming: bedrooms and bathrooms are simple but sufficient and comfortable, and I had a lovely view over the vine-covered terrace. Parking is readily available within a short walking distance. The main attractions of the hotel are the very personable and accommodating young couple that runs it and the cuisine! The husband is the Chef and the menu was varied and delicious. Dining on the open-air terrace was very pleasant and always well-attended with people from our hotel, other hotels in the region and travellers passing through. Our friends who live in the region also know the hotel for its cuisine so it has developed a well-deserved reputation in the three years this couple has been running it.
Easy parking. Short walk to centre of town None
The position just outside the town of Gourdon was perfect, as was the private parking in the very pleasant garden. Breakfast was delicious and to be able to sit outside on the terrace made it even better. The manager and staff were very friendly and helpful, we would love to go back
Excellent friendly & helpful staff. Superb restaurant. Quiet locality.
Nice location in garden 5 minutes walk from town centre, good food and wines No
Fantastic helpful staff. good food. Beautiful and conveneinet location no
owner very helpful price of breakfast excessive
Lovely choice of rooms which were very quiet and cool. A lovely view of the lite hilltop church at night. Very easy parking. One of the best and well serviced meals that we had in the area. no complaints
Our host and staff were very congenial and helpful at all times. Our room was comfortable and very pleasant. The dining room and meals were excellent. The best we had in France! The shower over bath.
Very comfortable. Friendly atmosphere. M. Lacam and all staff were excellent.
Charming boutique hotel. Conveniently located. Very quiet. Excellent service.
We really enjoyed our stay there. The hotel owners were very friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable and clean, and the hotel's location was great for exploring the Perigord region.
Hotel is situated in a quiet village but within easy reach of many Dordogne attractions. There are a couple of excellent gourmet restaurants of excellent value nearby - one just a short walk. Very welcoming host who could not have been more helpful.
The location within the pedestrian area of the village with easy access to the amenities No car park, not a problem for us, but maybe in summer could be difficult for non locals
The hotel had been very sympathetically restored and the decor was excellent. The hotel owner was extremely pleasant and helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. Breakfast was very good.
Family run by charming couple - very helpful. The village has limited options for eating out on foot. We only stayed for one night and did find an excellent restaurant. Finding somewhere different for a second night might have been more challenging.
the size of the room no wash basin in the toilet
The hotel was well located in the centre of the village. The decor was in keeping with the historical significance of the hotel and the village.
The hotel proprietor was very friendly, and the atmospher was very good
Lovely room - great views. The Patron was excellent - she took interest in our stay and gave helpful advice. Breakfasts were excellent.
