Pros: Everything was perfect. The breakfast is an excellent deal. We even bought honey that was made by his neighbor. Alain was kind and welcoming despite the hospitalisation of Sylvie. He didn't want to cancel our reservation because we booked many months ago and it was our third time to stay. We wish Slyvie good recovery and hope to see them again next year.

The location is in a very peaceful French village with easy access to the autoroute. We would not hesitate to book there again.

Pros: Hosts were the nicest people ever! They helped us with everything we asked and needed. The atmosphere of the room was kind of romantic with old fireplace and vintage furniture. Everything was very clean. Breakfast was super good and authentic. And location is a real Disneyland. It was so marvelous in the village that we changed our plans and stayed there both days just walking and eating in the best restaurant that is 1 minute walk
Cons: That was one tiny thing. The wi-fi was not good while it was raining. But our mobile internet signal was awful too at that time, so maybe it’s impossible to improve it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts Annie and Jean-Michel are beautiful people. We were traveling with our parents who were visiting from India and wanted rooms with no stairs. Annie was really kind to accommodate our needs. We had two rooms in the B&B. The rooms were spacious, equipped with all amenities. Our room was like a duplex had a living room area and the bedroom was upstairs. The breakfast had fresh bread, croissants, meats, cheese, jams, coffee, yogurts. It was sumptuous. We were stuffed. I really wanted to stay in Gites property and a remote village. Chateauneuf en auxios is a stunning village. It has a population of 85-100 people. We were greeted by Annie who showed us around. We chatted for a while and talked about their travels. Annie speaks english and is very sweet. She made recommendations for dinner and we made reservations at L’oree du bois. We lucked out as the restaurant was fully booked for the night. The food was delicious and the hosts were super kind. Loved the fact that everyone was very nice, kind and generous. That made our stay memorable. Thank you again to Annie and Jean-Michel for making our stay so special. We will come back soon.

Cons: There was not anything to complain about.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff is very friendly and helpful. The room and the whole hotel is very nicely done.
Cons: It is a bit expensive, but you can get an acceptable price if you book in advance :)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A nice place to stay!
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent quiet location in the middle of nowhere! Big spacious rooms
Cons: Breakfast
7.5 Good
Pros: Super confortable bed, enough pillows and blankets in case of need. Super helpful and smiley staff. Bathroom amenities of high quality. Good rooms soundproofing. Cool rooms design, combining old traditional and new. Enough TV stations to entertain. Good selection of wines at the restaurant.
Cons: The idea of a high quality oasis built around a Michelin starred restaurant, is not bad...yet, the devil sits in the details: - let’s pick the restaurant (not the gourmet one): price is way to high for the food quality. It’s very good, yet not at the level of the money claimed. (Fish and poultry are good, but cow and lamb not necessarily well cooked - it could derive from their sourcing). - room - rooms are not built with a whole family sitting in (open entry bathroom, with jacuzzi)...super cool, but difficult to use with kids running all over. Super thin interior walls separating bathroom from the rest of the room, therefore when you take a shower, after kids are in bed, you awake them given the level of shower noise passing thru - there is a disconnect between reception helpfulness and admin rules (we sat one night room heating off, as we got wrong information about that; solved though next day in a easy form) - SPA treatments are really poor...you cannot have the same person having manicure, pedicure and a strange form of massage....the entire session, I had to concentrate on the masseur breathing rather than on running music...not relaxing at all; but annoying...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The setting the relaxed environment the clean and well kept rooms and also the Spa !!
Cons: There is nothing to not like
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Outstanding food offer. Outstanding Spa offer (seriously, you've never seen a pool like it). Luxurious rooms and good staff. Interesting history — and a clear pride in the back story. Lots of variety at the property, gardens, billiards room, kids room, outdoor pool, indoor pool & spa...
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast. But their Gastronomic restaurant was closed (no doubt reason for reasonable room rate!), so I had to eat in their Bistro restaurant: OK but not anything special.
Cons: Dis not like the fact that I had to go outside in the rain through the garden to get to their Bistro restaurant (seats uncomfortable).
6.3 Good
Pros: Great rooms.
Cons: The food at the two star restaurant was bland and overpriced, service was slow, would definitely not eat here again or recommend it to anyone.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I went for the food, but the spa was an amazing bonus. My husband usually doesn’t like spas but even he enjoyed it! It was an unforgettable evening.

Pros: What a fabulous find ! We were greeted on our arrival by one of our kind and accommodating hosts, who helped with our bags and getting us installed. The property has been lovingly renovated and is very charming. Pretty gardens and terraces with plenty of comfortable seating. Our room was lovely and well appointed. The bathroom was large and had a wonderful, big bathtub. Also in the bathroom were delicious local bio products, nice soaps and creams ! Complimentary coffee, tea and bottled water in the room along with a ‘welcome beverage’ - such a nice touch. Our hosts offered to prepare us their dinner menu to be served on the terrace in the fresh evening air. All was delicious starting with the farm to table salad, lovely fish and vegetable main and a dessert made with berries delivered by a neighbor who had just harvested them that evening ! The next morning we enjoyed an exceptional breakfast of fresh eggs and bread/pastries - homemade marmelades and jams - fresh juice and fruit - coffee and tea ! Absolutely unbeatable from start to finish ! Cannot recommend it highly enough !

Pros: Our hosts were very proud of their home and guest room, and rightly so. The village really is in the middle of no where, quiet and rural plus the view from the terrace is lovely. Cons: One of the chickens very noisily laid an egg at 7.00am. However we got our own back, we ate it egg for breakfast.

Pros: The landlady did her very best for us. The house was beautiful and the area was very quiet. I would diffidently recommend it to others.
Cons: The only complaint I would make is that I would have a problem with sharing a bathroom as there were four of us and we were family it did not matter. With strangers then I would have a problem. I was good other than that
7.0 Good
Pros: The Maison Galimard is a typical stone house a short walk from the remarkable, ancient church, which latter can be visited by appointment through the small postal cum government office adjacent. Flavigny-sur-Ozerain is now a village and was a mediaeval city. The city is so intact that there would be very little to bar you making a period film there. A film called Chocolate was made there not so long ago. There is also a Carolingian crypt, from the 8th century, to visit and an ancient but thriving factory making aniseed dragées, where there is an associated tea shop and small museum.
Cons: The population is only 300, including 50 monks, and it seems they don't eat a great deal. At least they don't much eat out. We found only two restaurants in four days and one of them had a cigarette-burn-hole in the tablecloth. We discovered from the grapevine (not a literal one, of which there are also many) that the burn-hole was notorious. It was one of a number of eccentricities of our stay, eccentricities as they would seem to those who rub shoulders more widely in the world. A quiche in a cafe may taste like an ashtray and the soup may come from a glass bottle. They don't think anything is awry. It is the opposite of the Latin Quarter, in Paris, which you can get to in three hours to put matters back in perspective.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful room in an old refurbished house with a grand modern bathroom and a welcoming host.
Cons: The bathroom is to be shared with the other room but luckily we were the only one staying that night.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very authentic & rustic beautiful homely property in great location near square with church
Cons: The accommodation was perfect BUT the village has nowhere to eat or drink in evenings EVERYTHING was closed so bring food & drink with you for evening
7.0 Good
Pros: Did not know we had to share a bathroom, even though for us, it was not a problem. Would, for that reason only not recommend to individuals/couples traveling alone.
Cons: See above
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Terrific location
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is stunning & the owner, Sophie & her family absolutely wonderful. The bedroom was charming, comfortable & very clean.
Cons: The croissants were very unremarkable & rather dry.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Really peaceful. Excellent comfortable bed. Sophie’s hospitality was first class with great choice of delicious breakfast fare
Cons: The village needs a cash point. With an electric car the village would benefit from a charge point given the disctance from charge points.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This was the only B&B we stayed at during the trip. The Maison Glimard really stood out for the comfort. From the bedroom and bathroom (both well appointed and spacious) to the welcome and breakfast offered by the hostess. The other room was not rented during our stay, so we enjoyed the spacious bath by ourselves. Sophie, the hostess, also gave us good recommendations for sightseeing - about 30 min to 1 hour away.
Cons: The village is very small and quite out of the way for our travels. I missed the farmer's market -- closed on Mondays! Beware!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room in a private home in beautiful medieval village with no tourists. It was pouring rain and our hostess very kindly allowed us to check in early at short notice. We had an excellent meal at a local restaurant recommended by our hostess.
Cons: These are small villages with limited car access so very exact instructions on what to do with dropping off luggage and parking would be appreciated.

Pros: Rooms, actually whole place, was unique. Breakfast was adequate, receptionist very helpful and friendly. By the way, the hotel was recommended to me by my cousin-in-law, with whom I was visiting in France for the first time. He lives in a rural area nearby.
Cons: I would have liked hand lotion in room, and black tea, silly as those things sound. Fortunately, I know places don't always have OK tea, so I bring some. Thus I survived just delightfully.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nicely located close to the center of Nemur-en-Auxois. Many restaurants in walking distance. Nice spacious room, with good internet. Excellent breakfast with many choices.
Cons: Located on a busy road, although the room was still very quiet during the night. When we arrived on Sunday afternoon the reception was closed, so we had to check in electronically, what was not very welcoming!

Pros: Stayed in this hotel for one night during a round trip in Burgundy. It’s an awesome boutique hotel located straight in front of the gate to the old town. Family room was well decorated and literally huge. Staff was friendly and spoke good English. Breakfast was relatively good. Wi-fi was surprisingly fast.
Cons: The only cons is their private parking is either on the street next to the hotel or in a dark backyard behind the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, with a good choice of food. Good bread. Very nice rooms, in a very old house (old wood ceilings and stairs). The bathroom is very well equipped, with a large tube and a shower, in a modern style. Boiling kettle in the room.
Cons: The freshness of the eggs!

Pros: The accommodation was well equipped, although a little tired and could have benefitted from a makeover. The agent who managed the property was very helpful.
Cons: We opted to have breakfast as part of our package. This was not a good idea. We would advise you go to the local supermarket and buy fresh produce at a fraction of the cost. Our food was delivered by the agent the day before and was not very fresh by the next day. At 12 euros per person this was not good value for money.

Cons: There was never any staff available in the office in case I needed anything.

Pros: Beautiful grounds which show great care and attention. Linen, towels and curtains were really sumptuous.
Cons: Breakfast service very slow. Only one lady serving all Guests. Not as good as we expected for the standard of accommodation. Th baguettes were not fresh, unforgiveable in France.

Pros: Excellent staff ... friendly owner
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We loved the Abbaye. The tasteful renovation and repurposing of the ecclesiastical buildings appealed strongly to us, as did the beautiful grounds.
Cons: Our only problem was that the hot water in one of our two rooms didn't work for the whole two days and nights, tho' attempts were made to fix it. We appreciated the discount but switching to a different room with working water would have been better.
