Incredible food, although quite expensive, in a dining room with fantastic views of the river Seine. A really memorable experience.
The location is perfect. It is very charming, just by the river, with views of the Castle also. Spacious room and very large bed The bathroom was a bit cold, but fine
Great location on the banks of the Seine, comfortable, characterful rooms, wonderful river views from the restautant.
Our junior suite was excellent. Spacious, spotless and very comfortable. Parking. Our named reserved parking space was removed on the second day and given to another hotel client. Receptionist annoyed with us when we complained and asked for our original sparking space back, in fact she was rude. We also thought that the breakfast selection was poor for a hotel with the reputation it has, or is the hotel perhaps living on it's reputation of previous years.
The room was cheap and honest The food was good but rather expensive for the quality. Not a serious problem
This place is in the throws of renovation and when they are complete, it will be stunning. The original building is approx. 400 years old. The manager was the most helpfull man that i encoutered in France (he even got his english dictonary when he didn't understand me) and a real character. We stayed in two of the older suites, one was horrible, one was fanastic. The horribile (in my opinion) suite is the only room that will not be renovated. GO figure? Different strokes for different folks. I didn't eat there but the food looked good from afar. You will need a car in this region Caution: Suite 25 is "interesting" to say the least. As mentioned above, it is the only suite that will not be renovated and that is because it's unique. Crazy 70's brown and orange wall paper on the walls and roof that i would describe as a bad trip, not at all to my taste but maybe for someone else. But as soon as the manager found out i didn't like the room he swapped us strait away. If 70's decore is not you thing, put a note in your booking not to book suite 25. There is no net cafe or super market in the town but it is a beautiful little town nestled in the forrest
Nice location. Friendly staff. WiFi was not working in the room and was not fixed during my stay.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and made us very welcome No
The decoration of the hotel is beautiful, and the restaurant terrace to eat breakfast and dinner on is perfect. A bird flying over our table dropped a 'present' on to me and my starter during my meal. They happily replaced my food (once the other guests had finished lauging at my misfortune!)
The hotel was delightful, all the staff were friendly and spoke english, to varying degrees, which we found helful. The hotel was situated in the square at Lyons le Foret which enabled us to access bars and restaurants quickly as we were only there for the night. No!
Extremely comfortable, beautiful situation, eating outside on the lawn, the pool. felt the food was very expensive. Breakfast was very expensive for a fairly ordinary buffet
The welcome at reception, the bedrooms, the location in the town and the excellent dinner and breakfast. Although we had booked dinner, we were seated in the small dining room on our own and then ignored . I had to constantly go and find the waiter to serve us. Also could your staff not shout to each other when clearing up after a wedding party. We eventually got to sleep at 3.oo am.
The location was beautiful and very convenient for exploration. We were very pleased we chose it and the food was 5 Star.
The location was fantastic. The hotel was very individual and stylish. Room was very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. There was a market in the square the next morning which added to the charm of this extremely beautiful town We had a suite but I was not keen on the open plan bathroom. I had to ask reception for a hairdryer which was surprising in a hotel of this standard. We were very disappointed with the food in the Bistro but they were very busy and the kitchen is very small.
Superbly comfortable bed and room. Individually designed rooms. Facilities of kettle and tv. quiet location our room overlooked garden/terrace. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Clean, and towels changed each day. Lack of wardrobe or practical hanging space for clothes as the room was on the small side and the individual decor although exceptional was at the expense of practicality. Toilet and shower do not have extractor fans. Fortunately I took my own hairdryer as the room did not have one. The lighting in the shower room was not the best for putting on makup.
Even though it was a Sunday night and there were only a few people eating it was delightful . There were also only on;y 3 of us in the hotel overnight. As we were only 3 we had to go down the road to another hotel for breakfast but they were just as charming
Perfectly situated in centre of town, beautifully appointed and comfortable bedrooms. Food good and dinner menu reasonably priced.Staff very friendly and polite.Private parking. Good relaxing stopover. We didn't take breakfast as too expensive. No tea & coffee facilities in room. Parking could be awkward if Hotel full.
The interior design is very original and striking and everything has been done to a high standard. The hotel is in the heart of a very attractive town.
The hotel decor is modern. Hotel and bedrooms are very clean, bathrooms also have modern fittings - really good showers. Good food in the hotel restaurant. Breakfast was not available in this hotel but in a neighbouring hotel. We also felt breakfast was quite expensive at 12 or 15 euros per person.
The location, design of interior, layout of gardens, willingness of staff to help as best they could without a more authoritative figure in charge. We felt that teething problems of a new and beautiful looking hotel would be ironed out in time. Some facilities not in good working order which we put down to teething problems. Restaurant looked great but disappointed in the quality of the menu on the weekend we stayed.
Lovely fresh air and relaxing atmosphere
Friendly welcome, good food, quiet location, nice gardens. Faded grandeur, food & wine were expensive.
Peaceful and informal with many period features & furnishings. Pleasant gardens in rural surroundings. Welcoming and informal dining room with good food and service. Range of reasonably priced wines. Staff helpful, particularly at check in - some english spoken. Pool looks good, but not in use during our stay in October. Not the easiest or most convenient place to find, but internet guidance notes are accurate and the location makes the effort well worthwhile. Standard rooms fairly small, but good value & ours had an excellent modern bathroom/shower. Bath would be impossible for the elderly or disabled, but other rooms may be much more convenient?
Beautiful rural setting combined with a very warm family welcome and excellent cuisine. This is the perfect place to go for a quiet break - for the more energetic there are great forest walks around the area. En-suite toilet was located very close to the bed.
We were made to feel very welcome the atmosphere that is created for guests is one of comfort and warmth and the meals that were taken were well cooked and presented. The rooms provided were on the small side and the bathrooms minute. Nevertheless, quite acceptable and attractively furnished.
Excellent cuisine, beautiful surroundings, very peaceful and quiet. No, nothing.
Excellent location, the chateau park, the silence and the cook The beds are covered with a plastic matress cover- please get rid of those
Quietness and high quality of furnishings etc.
We liked everything about this hotel. It was in a beautiful setting, the food and hospitality were superb and it was immaculately clean. We look forward to a return visit!
Toilet in bedroom a bit small.
Very clean, easy to find with very pleasant Gentleman booking you in and serving breakfast.
Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, value for money, parking facilities
About the only good thing is that you get a bed for the night. Hotel staff were not on site when we arrived, just a note advising us of our room number. You could describe the service as "iconic French". The on-site parking was through a very narrow opening into a courtyard. The only way we could exit without getting hung up on large blocks either side of the entrance was to drive straight out across the (very busy) two lanes of the main street in the town. This was usually accompanied by beeping horns and fist waving.
Interesting room, friendly service
Charming hotel! Quiet French province! Located near Beauvais Pleasantly and friendly staff
The Chateau was lovely, beautiful surroundings and impressive building. |The staff, who I think were family, were all very friendly and accommodating. Our daughter and granddaughter had a superior room and it was spacious and clean. Ours was a standard and it was clean and the beds comfortable. The adult breakfasts were delicious and served in a very pleasant conservatory. When we booked the web site did not process the booking very quickly ( more that 30 min ) so we re booked thinking the booking had not gone through, it had! Cancelling the second booking was done efficently the following day but the resopnse from the web site needs to be quicker. Also when we booked it stated that there was a restraunt, having booked we got an e-mail saying that it was closed on the night we stayed. Not good when you are travelling with a 2 1/2 year old. We booked 4 breakfasts and there was no breakfast, adult or child, served to my granddaughter. I had to ask for milk for her to drink, she actually ate from our breakfasts. Our bathroom was shabby with a very limescaled shower but it worked and there was enough hot water and clean towels.
Occupation was good. In the past I stayed there and the hotel was very empty.
The beauty of the place, both inside and outside of the hotel.
The food, the service, relaxed. Our room was rather basic, dark and cramped. No tea/coffee making facilitities. No lounge area.
Location Resturant was closed and breakfast was disappointing
I like the oldy worldy feel of it... I was expecting a more up market hotel but really enjoyed the old feel of this hotel... The meals where rather expensive and none of the staff could speak English... but they where all very friendly and helpful....
The Chateau was magnificent as were all the internal oak features. The restaurant was outstanding, and good value for money, with excellent cuisine. The setting was perfect and we were disappointed it was too cold to use the swimming pool. We look forward to our next visit when large open fires will be burning in the winter. The room decor was a little tired with a few water stains on the ceiling
the room was lovely and the food just as we like it perfect
Friendly atmosphere in tranquil surroundings
Friendly service and good value accommodation Bed was uncomfortable
It was "nice" really NICE.cosy, compact, friendly, quite,In a pretty and intersting village.Would I go back>YOU bet. The resturant manageress. She thought she was too self important.,not friendly.I Felt she thought she was doing you a favour serving you.She gave the impression she was more important the guests.could say more but won't
This was our second visit to the hotel, the first time with our son, the second with friends. On both occasions the food and the accommodation were excellent. We will definitely return.
Thee atmosphere and lovely toen very old and atmospheric Food well presented and good value
Decor and location in town Nothing
We had stayed the hotel this August and October.Loved the decor of the room and very clean. Excellent breakfast and lovely French family atmosphere in the restaurant, tasteful furniture and friendly staff. We would like to go back to next summer again!
A superb little hotel to stay in on a cold November night. The rooms are furnished with lovely antiques and the decoration was fresh and clean. We dined in the restaurant which was full of local customers a really good atmosphere, well presented and cooked food, friendly family staff, it was a really nice change from the run of the mill stop over’s The stairs to the rooms are on the outside we found them slippery with leaves and quite steep.
Very cozy room, beautiful decoration, good location in the village, good French cuisine and breakfast.
The hotel was a beautiful chateau setting along a river. Checkin was good with our luggage being picked up with a golf cart and transported to the appropriate building. Our room was clean and comfortable. We ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was good. We originally thought the setting around the pool was a bit strange, but it was nice in the end. There was a concerted effort to help with the language issue since we speak very little French. Everyone was frriendly and tried their best to make us comfortable. We had a standard room and the shower was not a separate room-glass enclosed and visible. The security system was a bit overwhelming-had to arrive and depart on a timetable and no leaving your room after midnight or an alarm would be set off. Not a real problem; it was made a point of several times.
The location was great. I did not like the fact that the gates close at 9.30pm and you have to be in the hotel. This does not allow you to eat out and be back in time without cutting your evening short. This is deliberate and is intended to make you eat and drink at the hotel which is expensive. Our evening visiting friends was cut short and spoilt by this. Before staying at this hotel check if this curfew is still in place.
The setting, ie. The Gardens. The Restraunt was excellent. Seeing the Hotel was virtually empty, it was a shame our room was in an annexe on the second floor. A little generosity on the room, seeing how expensive the restraunt was would have been appreciated.
Excellent facilities, beautiful setting and building. Poolside restaurant was excellent, we had no problems witht the smell of chlorine. Eating in the hotel is very expensive, but well worth the experience. Breakfast was excellent. The grounds are well kept and good parking. Staff are very attentive to detail. The room was in the annexe, and was far too small , some seating outside of the annexe would be appreciated. Check the cost of the evening meal before booking, as you cannot enter or leave the grounds after 9:00 pm. So you need to be committed to eating in the hotel, which is fine for one night, but would be very expensive for longer. You are not allowed to bring any food or drinks in to the hotel. There is nothing to see or do in the village, it is run down.
The room rate was good given the standard of accommodation. I am not used to having a shower cubicle/handbasin actually in the bedroom (ie not in a seperate room off the bedroom). The bed was small. The restuarant v.expensive with a 125 ml glass of white wine costing 12 euros. The gates were locked at 11.00 pm and you could not get access after this time. The reception didn't open and gates were not unlocked. until 9.00 am. To advertise a spa is stretching the imagination. The small pool is in the resturant and can only be used 9.00am -11.00am and 3,00 - 5.00 pm and also not on Sundays or holidays!
We liked the gardens and the setting as well as the history of the buildings The dining room is also the swimming pool and i did not like the smell of chlorine with my dinner.
