Weavers Guest House - Keighley - Bedroom
1
9.8 Excellent (240 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Weavers Guest House in Keighley, you'll be 0.1 mi (0.2 km) from Bronte Parsonage Museum and 8.2 mi (13.2 km) from Ilkley Moor. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services and luggage storage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is lovely. Perfect place to enjoy everything Haworth has to offer. Weavers is located next to the Brontë Parsonage Museum, which is well worth a visit. Brendan provided us with detailed instructions for recommended walks in the Yorkshire Dales. We went on one on a blustery, rainy day, but it was beautiful and completely evocative of a Brontë novel. The hot breakfast was tasty and there were many options to choose from. The yoghurt, fruit and cereals were fresh and tasty as well. We stayed in the Shirley Suite, which was spacious and well equipped with robes, tea facilities, complimentary water, etc. We were surprised by all the nice touches, which we would typically equate with 4 or 5 star hotels. Brendan and Josie were professional, efficient and helpful. We would not hesitate to stay at the Weavers again.
Cons: Nothing!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I went with a group of friends (a reading club) to visit Haworth and stayed with Brendan and Josie. They made our visit unforgettable: information, reservations, help and all sorts of wonderful details. The B&B - clean, homely and most pleasant - was a kind of second home for us. Thank, thank you. People like Brendan and Josie make people from different countries and cultures to understand each other much better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Both Josie and Brendan were very friendly and clearly proud of their B&B (and well they should be proud as the place is lovely!) The best part of my stay was that Brendan did ALL my thinking for me. After staying here for three nights I moved for one night to lovely Ponden Hall and then returned to Haworth the next day for a church service. Brendan immediately realized that it didn't make sense for me to return to Ponden after the service to retrieve my suitcase and then have to head to the trains stn. from there. He suggested I bring my suitcase back to his B&B before church and then I could leave directly. Brendan quickly figured this all out, called a taxi for me and got everything set and ready. This is going ABOVE and BEYOND their call of duty (especially as I was no longer staying at The Weavers!) This is how a B&B should be run. When your host thinks for you - you know you are staying in an amazing place! I didn't want to go! Location FABULOUS! My mom and I stayed here before when it was a different establishment (though I didn't realize this until I checked in!) Breakfasts were the full-English and delicious! Clean, clean, clean! I spent a very comfortable stay here and will definitely stay here again when I return to Haworth. It is very apparent that Josie and Brendan care about their guests. Brendan told me about seeing some of his guests on the moors when it was getting dark. He went home and got his car and picked them up! Again, that says a lot. Thanks Brendan and Josie for making my stay with you PERFECT!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The location was fab. The guesthouse was so clean and everything was efficient. Patsy was a breath of fresh air at breakfast. Brendan who is the owner and chef was so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. He is a fantastic chef. Breakfast was yummy. Can't wait to go back.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hosts who made our stay very pleasant. It is nice that plant based alternatives are available as I have a dairy intolerance which is sometimes not catered for in guesthouses. The gift of vegan fudge upon checkout was delicious and very welcoming after our walk to Top Withen.

10.0 Excellent

Cons: Nothing disagreeable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Caroline and Adrian were so welcoming and friendly, they are wonderful hosts. The breakfast is amazing, with a wide choice and presented so well. On return from a very long walk it was really lovely to find a piece of delicious homemade apple sponge waiting for me in my room! The cottage is beautiful and spotlessly clean. The decor has been very carefully thought out and so much attention to detail. They are very proud of the cottage, and rightly so, and as I was the only guest they showed me the other rooms- all beautifully decorated with so much attention to detail. The cottage is ideally placed in the village, with easy access to the restaurants, shops, museum, walks etc. I was a lone traveller and felt very welcome, safe and well cared for throughout my stay. I will defiantly return, with my husband next time, as my son is at university in Leeds so gives me an excuse to stay again!
Cons: Loved everything!

10.0 Excellent
Cons: Couldn't fault anything it was a lovely stay.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully decorated and maintained property, with relaxed atmosphere, lovely food and good restaurant service - they appear cautious not to pack out the restaurant and spread out bookings to maintain this good service and relaxed atmosphere.. the restaurant had a nice cosy feel and I could certainly imagine their Christmas celebration package being very nice there.. friendly attentive staff, comfortable bed and newly refurbished room and ensuite which was very tasteful.. its a little off the beaten track but easy to find and access .. a lovely stroll down quiet country lanes from the Inn to the reservoirs which have nice compacted walking routes all the way around.
Cons: There was nothing not to like.. except perhaps the hole it burnt in the credit card!

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect, the room great. The staff were polite & helpful with local knowledge. Check in & check out easy.
Cons: The breakfast was absolutely fine, really enjoyable, however to nitpick we would have preferred a beef tomato rather than a tiny plum tomato on our plate.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Bar and food really good.
Cons: When I booked I thought there was a cooked breakfast but just continental that I had to make myself. Not too much of a hardship just didn’t realise when booking.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nichole was an absolute star she is the epitome of customer service and must be a very valued member of the team
Cons: Strange noise from the boiler room most of the night disrupted our sleep
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was lovely and very spacious the continental breakfast was superb excellent choices
4.2 Okay
Pros: Staff were friendly on arrival and the evening meal in the bar was great
Cons: Breakfast was continental and buffet based - when I travel on business(I work in sales), I like a cooked breakfast as it may be my only meal of the day not being able to stop for lunch on the road. There was no Wi-Fi in the room, and I booked a room there based on location and the fact it had Wi-Fi as I had lots of work to catch up on. This was very inconvenient. Main disappointment was the shower had no hot water! There was a bath available, but I didn't have time for a bath with an early appointment in Keighley.
7.5 Good
Pros: Excellent location, only 10 mins from total tranquility and isolation - if that's what you fancy ?
Cons: Don't stay in the 4-poster bedroom, it's directly above the bar area where all the action takes place. If the Saturday night disco is on you won't get any sleep till after 3 am !!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, spacious room, good restaurant and very friendly and helpful staff. It was also great that they made an effort to cater for a gluten free diet.
Cons: Would have preferred a bath in the room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Large room with 4 poster bed. Food good. Room would be good for couples looking for a bit of a "wow" factor.
Cons: Room was above the bar. Noisy until 11pm although I wasn't too bothered by this as I had "Last Night of the Proms" on the TV going full bore. On check out on a Sunday, nobody at the premises could ascertain what to charge me for my stay (I was undercharged, but that doesn't mean that I liked that!!) Would have preferred a cooked breakfast, although the Continental "do it yourself" breakfast was good.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great staff and excellent food. Oldside room is beautiful. One of the best places I've stayed and will be back again.

Pros: The hotel was located very close to the Bronte museum, our main reason for visiting Haworth. The food was of excellent quality, - wide choice, home-cooked with a wide range of fresh vegetables . The rooms were spotlessly clean
Cons: The decor was tired and the rooms in need of refurbishment.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff where really helpful, smiling and friendly. Food was great, breakfast and evening meal. Location was great. Comfortable rooms and very clean.
Cons: Just thought it was a bit noisy through the night, creaky floors and the water system pipes, but it wouldn't stop me staying again, it was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I just loved this place. Excellent location food and friendly and helpful staff.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was adequate. Bar meals excellent: not expensive gourmet, but a very knowledgeable chef. Restaurant: Good but expensive. Next time we shall stick to bar meals which are competent and agreeable. Real Ale bar - which is always a plus. Bedrooms: small but comfortable, clean and warm. White Lion is well above average for a small town hotel.
Cons: Our only internal problem was a faulty shower control in the en-suite bathroom/toilet which made it difficult to set the temperature. Mentioned to reception who promised to see to it. Car parking facilities are marginal. There are 7 spaces alloted on first-come-first-served basis. Otherwise the Parsonage car-park is 100 yards away. We got the last space at 5.10 pm.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Character and heritage
Cons: Nothing we didn’t like
7.1 Good
Pros: Full yorkshire breakfast superb and dinner very nice. Hot tub excellent. Surrounding area and village pretty and scenic
Cons: On arrival and throughout stay the heating in room was not sufficient as radiator felt cool to touch. After complaining to staff a small blower was placed in room but water was only lukewarm in bathroom. Also a little love and attention to detail with decor and outside terrace would enhance things.i.e. chandelier needs dusting and ivy needs cutting back on outside wall murial
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in "Dr McCracken's" room, which was very large and fully equipped with a comfortable Four-Poster Bed. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast. On-site parking. Large garden for Summer. Easy walk to the Bronte parsonage. Haworth has really gone up-market since I visited 40 years ago and there were a dozen good-looking restaurants in the village.
Cons: The local Keighley and Worth Valley Railway was closed for a week's maintenance and we didn't check its website.
7.9 Good
Pros: The location and size of rooms, bed was also very comfy :)
Cons: No sockets near the hot tub so we couldn’t plug in any music to enjoy while in it. The tub only had one setting for bubbles which was too powerful so you could hardly hear each other. Lost it’s temperature later in the evening after the staff had finished for the evening. Bath robes are too small and not very soft. More choice of hot drinks, add hot chocolate sachets perhaps.
6.7 Good
Pros: Good bed and parking.
Cons: Extremely small shower 2.5 by 2.5 feet. No Kleenex provided. Bathroom very small, even though room was large. No places to put luggage. No lighting in room or lounge adequate for reading.

Pros: Loved the Northern friendliness . Love the honesty box
7.9 Good
Pros: A lovely dining room.
Cons: We could not open the bedroom window during the night as we could hear a whisper of conversation until nearly 2am in the morning.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice cooked breakfast and fresh fruit salad. Comfortable bed. Easy walking distance to centre of Ilkley.
Cons: No one there 10 mins before my earliest estimated arrival time. Then, being let in by someone in bare feet looked unprofessional. Television too small to view comfortably from the bed. Parking not easy and residents only parking to be instituted in the next week won't help.
7.9 Good
Pros: Friendly husband and wife team run the guesthouse. My room was spacious, warm and bed was gigantic. Very quiet outside...i slept like a log.
Cons: Butter tasted odd at breakfast and toast wasnt brown enough for me....but both these issues could be put down to me being too fussy.

Pros: The room were very clean and the owners very friendly. The breakfast were fantastic with lots of options and tasted delicious
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location if you like walking or going out for a day. Less than 100 meters to the supermarket, about 300 to the railway/bus station + shops/restaurants and the same distance to get to the moors. Tracey and Howard are both very friendly and helpful and they serve a perfect breakfast!
Cons: We liked the place a lot, but if I could suggest something than it would be a chair up in the bedroom.

Pros: Such a beautiful house and atmosphere, a great location, lovely hosts and very luxurious and relaxing. 11 out of 10! Thanks for a lovely stay.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was located 2 mins walk from the station in Haworth and only 5 minutes walk up the hill past the beautiful park to the Main Street. The hosts Martin and Clare were friendly, welcoming and helpful with directions and use of their car parking at the rear of the property, they also gave us a key to the front door so that we could come and go as we wished. The breakfast was cooked to order so was fresh and hot with homemade bread and marmalade along with cereals and fresh fruits. We had a ground floor bedroom that was perfect for us as my husband struggles with steps on occasion, in our room was homemade fruit cake and ginger biscuits along with a good selection of teas and coffee.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely, welcoming hosts, lovely characterful house and garden. Spacious room, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, nice bedding and very quiet. Excellent gluten free awareness and provision. Lovely town, good pubs - up a steep hill, though. River and station a very short walk away.
Cons: View from window wasn't great, perhaps a few more pot plants to detract from the wall. Toilet noisy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfy bed and such friendly owners.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Like sitting with other residents at breakfast. Nice big shower.
Cons: The toilet sewerage facility was very noisy presumably as the plumbing in old houses weren't fitted with it everywhere? In the twin room there is no view, being on the ground floor, there was a wall in front of the window. Towels have seen better days.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Home made bread and marmalade was a lovely touch
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was large everything you needed .The owners were very friendly and helpful and breakfast was also good , plenty of off road parking space ,lovely garden area . Situated near to train station in a quiet area also close to Central Park would strongly recommend staying here to anyone staying in Haworth.
Cons: We weren't overly keen on the communal breakfast table as first thing not always at your most sociable but that is all.

Cons: The Steep stairs to top floor with suitcases allthough we got help with one.
7.1 Good
Pros: The evening meal and breakfast were very good. The lack of parking at the property is an issue, however alternative arrangements at a local car park are helpful.
Cons: The green light in the bedroom which is part of the fire regs is a real problem if you are a light sleeper and its for this reason that we wouldn't stay at the property again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good and the room heating by radiator was adjustable which was most welcome as the weather turned cold. It was a very good view across the main street to the hills beyond. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Cons: I didn't like the very thick coffee cup with no saucer. I think more could be done regarding climate change eg not washing towels during a short stay; stop supplying small plastic bottles of shampoo etc and using refillable bottles.

Pros: Love the quiet and peaceful setting of Leeming Wells - the pool is a real bonus too and although it's quite isolated, the pub next door is a real added bonus. My 4th visit and will definitely be going again.
Cons: Later check out option would be a bonus, even if it incurred a small extra charge. More veggie choice at breakfast would also be a bonus.

Pros: Location is lovely, though in very bad weather could be a bit scary to get to! Dinner was good, and the ambience in the bar/dining room was great. 4.2 Okay
Pros: The location in front of many walking paths on the moors is fabulous.
Cons: The room as it had an unpleasant smell , the shower was so small i could not turn around in it and, it was not particularly clean. They offered a full English breakfast and i was in the restaurant at exactly 7am as i had a train to catch but no one showed up until 7:23 by which time it was too late for me to wait for the breakfast. Dinner was tasty but piece of cod for 15.00 GBP was very small, not good value.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: I thought the staff (in particular), the location and the facilities in the room were all excellent. I don't really eat breakfast so I can't comment on that ( I had a cup of coffee and a piece of toast only).
Cons: I just had two (actually three) 'gripes' which stopped me from rating it as excellent. First: the bed. It looked comfortable and was - with the exception that it definitely sloped towards the window! I got out a couple of times to see if a castor had come off (it hadn't). The constant sense of 'rolling' did make for a rather broken night's sleep. (My room was called Kettlewell, just so you know which bed I'm talking about). Second: the soap container in the bathroom. I'm recovering from multiple breaks to my leg and have so far only had a shower sitting on a stool. As standing is not an option I was forced to have a bath. The soap container is firmly attached to the wall out of arms reach. Is the crime rate in Ilkley so high? Can I suggest you either fix an additional soap dispenser at 'bath level' or provide a bar of soap. The final thing is almost inconsequential and something I didn't notice until the morning: the soundproofing. I couldn't hear a thing from the bedroom next to mine, but when they went in to their bathroom in the morning, they might just as well have been in the same room as me. They were not talking in raised voices or anything but every word was clearly audible. (If only they'd been talking about something interesting....).

Pros: This is a gem in the heart of Ilkley. It was an easy 5 minute stroll from the train station and surrounded by lovely shops and cafes. We came for the Literature Festival and it couldn’t have been more perfect for our late supper in the bistro. Beautiful crisp sheets on the bed. Wonderful shower. Very yummy breakfast included and all for an amazing price. As you can tell - we loved it!!
7.0 Good
Pros: food was really good. only one young lady on duty at breakfast, trying to do everything, so long wait for breakfast.
Cons: hotel does not have a lounge or reception, has bar next door, which does not open until lunchtime. nowhere to sit and have a coffee.
7.9 Good
Cons: duvet and pillows would be better if they were synthetic materials and thicker. Neelie
7.1 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good but felt that it was not clear what we could have off the extensive menu. No refill of coffee was offered, nor any toast offered at all after our hot meal
Cons: You need to be very clear that there is no hotel parking and the council have made it very hard for overnight parking . You need to pay from 1800hrs - 2400hrs ( £1.00 which is OK ), and you need to repay at 0800 for what parking you need. We did not appreciate having to sort out the parking before we had breakfast and get up earlier than we wanted to prevent a parking fine. Not the hotel's problem , but your problem !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was fab. Very tasty
Cons: Nothing
