Pros: I loved my room, looking at the garden, very quiet and comfortable. Bed comfortable, bathroom well organized, breakfast very nice and Corinne, the owner, is very kind and accomodating. Besides it's 2 minutes walking from the train station. Totally recommended!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Corinne is very friendly and I really enjoyed staying 1 night at this B&B. The breakfast was nice, fresh made eggs, yoghurts, cold cuts, cheese and good bread. Also good coffee. Thanks Corinne!

Pros: Corinne is a very nice host, she took the time to explain me about Basel and the hotel. The hotel is well situated near the train station and city center. Nice, tidy and clean rooms. Nice breakfast too.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host Corrine was fantastic and very helpful. The place was lovely and comfortable- and there was even a fridge in the common area with an honesty box for if we got thirsty. Free tee and coffee and fruit as well. Perfect place.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Owner was delightful Code to get allowed us to come and go freely Breakfast was great Property was really cute....a renovated 125 year old row house Excellent location near train station. Trams, markets, small neighborhood restaurants
Cons: Kept tripping over raised wooden plank on the floor at bathroom door entrance Steep curved stairs to access bedrooms
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Super location - I was arriving late from the airport by bus 50 and having a place to sleep so close is excellent. As I arrived late Corinne could not welcome me, so she wrote me a message with the code to enter the building and all the info I needed. The bed was super comfy, the room was spacious and both room and bathroom were very clean. The breakfast was filling and Corinne takes care of you preparing additional eggs and coffee. She also looked for some information for me and she let me leave my backpack in the living area and welcomed me to pick it up later during the day. I must say she is an excellent host.
Cons: The floors are a little noisy, I suppose that is due to the building being an old one.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This charming little B & B is only a few blocks from the train station and with walking distance of Basel’s old town. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good. The owner Could runner was also kind and helpful. I really loved the ambiance here!
Cons: There was nothing to dislike.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really good location very close to the train station and main areas - Martzplatz etc. Very easy tram ride or short walk! Check-in was easy and convenient. Corinne is really sweet and friendly! Had a lovely stay, room was sparkling clean and a great breakfast. It’s really a quaint, cute place!
Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois - Basel - Building

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent, accommodation very nice
Cons: Very expensive, no tea or coffee in room
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel, the staff, food and drinks were phenomenal. Wonderful location right on the Rhine.
Cons: Switzerland is a wonderful country. Love the people. Hotel Les Trois Rois is an awesome facility, but the Swiss have no clue how to air condition a hotel. The system was insufficient to make the room comfortable unless we had a pedestal fan going full blast and all of the curtains closed- which kind takes all the fun out of the fact that we had a great view- because we couldn't see it. Because the hotel is historic and there's a lot of wood used in its construction, you're not allowed to have an iron (WHAT??) in your room. Fire hazard. Evidently, they don't have those auto shut-off irons either. They don't even provide a facility for you to do your own ironing/pressing anywhere on the premises. It would have cost me in excess of 100 CHF a day to get just the basics wrinkle free! Ridiculous. I was looking forward to being a frequent occupant of the incredible cigar lounge they have there, but, no air conditioning.

Pros: First at all, it wouldn't have expected such great quality for the cost, the best ever! Then, location is also excellent, because it's 5 minutes walking from the congress center in Basel, where I went for business.
Cons: I don't have any complain at all
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Microhotel is the excellent business or short term stay hotel in Basel. The staff is going out of it's way to accommodate every wish. Their hospitality and personal approach should be an example to many other high quality establishments! The location is right next to the Messe center and about 10-12 mins walk from the river and the historic center. The rooms are well equipped even with small things like shoehorn, lots of mirrors, cotton buds, etc, and are conveniently spacious and clean as if I had been the first guest in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Friendly staff. Loved the balcony :)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Micr in name, but not nature. Great welcome, large room with a/c during the heat wave.
Cons: Nothing, just understand it's not a flash 5 star, and it's a little peripheral, but with the trams, no bother
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Large, well furnished, comfortable, quiet, room. Ideally located within walking distance of the conference centre, and not much further to the centre of town. Great staff, nice breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I experienced in Europe unkown hospitality. What an impressive and refreshing service
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very friendly and very helpful. The service was great. Nice breakfast. I would definitely stay there next time I am in Basel.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Extremely friendly and efficient staff. The room was much larger than any I have had in other hotels in Basel and also new, modern, clean and well designed. Bathroom was the size of some rooms in other hotels and well equipped. The place is also very calm. Perfect for any exhibition in Basel (in same area as exhibition center), about 15-20mn walk from center downtown (there are trams too)
Cons: Nothing, it was just great

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Your people were terrific. We had an issue with lost luggage and our language inadequacy. Your front desk (Celia, Cecile and Miriam) resolved our problem.
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were so helpful and friendly and with the ability to use the travel pass provided by the hotel to use the buses and trams, it was perfectly placed. This is the 2nd time I have stayed at the Spalentor and I will definitely return there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bag left from previous stay already in room. Best breakfast. Awesome staff.
Cons: n/a
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is an excellent little hotel: the bed was comfortable, the room was a good size, everything worked, it was clean, the breakfast was fine, the staff were helpful and friendly and the location was great. What more could one want?
Cons: Nothing. If there were any problems with the hotel, we missed them.
7.5 Good
Pros: I liked the location of the hotel, which was very near to a tram station, near the heart of Basel, yet very quite and airy. Reception was great and the lobby facilities were excellent including a pool table and fitness room.
Cons: Spalentor had very thin walls, people talking in neighboring rooms and hallway were very well heard, that was not an issue but should be mentioned. What I really didn't like was the comfort level of the room beds and pillows, as a heavy-built man (not in any extra-ordinary way however) I need and expect hotel beds to provide enough support and firmness for a good night's sleep, that was not the case here.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and staff. And they gave us a fantastic room!
Cons: Is a bit noisy, both front and back
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Nice large room. Very comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast. Great location. Included Tram day passes, but most sites were walkable. Convenient to riverboat docks.
Cons: It was noisy at night if the window was open, but quiet with it shut.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent with good range of hot and cold food.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location and Great personal
Cons: It was under construction and we didn’t know it in advance
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The beautiful garden where you could have coffee in the morning & wine in the afternoon. Rooms were quiet and comfortable.
Cons: Walk to city center might be a little long for some people, however, the tram is just across the street from the hotel. The tram is free when you stay at Hotel Spalentor.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A comfortable, clean hotel, in a good position, with pleasant staff. The upgrade was much appreciated.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Good location to reach the old centre on foot Decent room Airco Breakfast was good Private parking nearby
Cons: Rooms 107 and 108 - Pee on toilet wall! - Dirty weigh scale and floor in bathroom - Dust - Dirty desk (glas circles/ water stains/ fingerprints) - Hair in bed! And this is just the dirt visible to the naked eye. Imagine how unhygienic these rooms are. - Heavy blankets in hot summer 38 degrees - Extra big bed = 2 beds that move apart on the slightest touch Also I could literally follow the conversation in the bathroom next door, so very thin walls. On making remarks about the filthy room at the desk the same night (in a nice way), the girl said she would make a note. She did not offer to solve or anything else and made no excuse. I was speechless. Left unsatisfied, the next morning I tried again, nicely but more firm, with a different girl. She only said 'oh sorry' and that she would tell the cleaning ladies. Speechless again. Any other 4 star hotel would have offered sincere apologies, another room, to send someone to clean, something on the house or a bit of discount. It's the principle that counts. Now you can add this bad review to the rest of your bad reviews. And for the record: 99% of my reviews are super positive. Not worth €130 per room/ per night Not worth 4☆ (yes, I know cleanliness has nothing to do with the star rating, but it should!)

Pros: I liked the proximity to the train station. We didn't have far to carry our suitcases. The room was quiet and comfortable. I appreciated the free ice cream, that was a welcome treat. I also appreciated the free Basel transit card
Cons: Nothing I can think of. Our stay was satisfactory.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Next to the railway station but the area was nice and the hotel was great. Free ice cream a nice bonus on a hot day!
Cons: There were some tram line works outside but we didn't notice much noise

Pros: breakfast, very comfortable bed, it is extremely clean, well equipped
Cons: only a comment: I was missing a hair conditioner
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is 10/10 if you travel via train. Professional staff and value is great!
Cons: No minibar, and construction is going just in front of the entrance
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Located just across from train station, clean room, great linens but best: the staf was universally friendly and knowledgeable. They were given a free premium ice cream to each guest that was made by disabled. It was delicious and supported a great cause. Rooms were a generous size - welcome after a river cruise cabin
Cons: Presently construction just outside of the front of the hotel. They provided ear plugs if needed but such a historic hotel with thick wall we did not need them
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Clean property
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Right next to railway station. Very clean, good size room and bathroom, good lighting. We were lucky to take one of 5 free parking spots. Staff is very nice and helpful. Free transport card. Very easy and fast connection to old Town by 3 trams. Good breakfast.
Cons: Nothing to complain about
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great food and very kind people.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, quiet room.
Cons: The sockets in the rooms are not the usual European ones and reception had run out of adaptors. I had to go walking for 15mins to an electrical shop to be able to recharge my phone. An adaptor in each room would be useful.
Steinenschanze Stadthotel - Basel - Building

A stay at Steinenschanze Stadthotel places you in the heart of Basel, within a 10-minute walk of Basel Historical Museum and Basler Muenster. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendliness of staff. Helpfulness of staff. Breakfast in the garden. Comfort of beds. Peacefulness.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was professional, curteous, multi-lingual, and the front desk was always staffed. The hotel was amazingly generous with coffee, wine and snacks available throughout the day and evening. I also had free access to a computer and internet and a quiet place to settle in and work near the coffee, wine and snacks. A variety of international newspapers and magazines were available as well. Within just a few hundred yards I found the Marketplace, filled with shops, restaurants, and an art museum with an impressive collection of impressionist paintings (my favorite) was also just a 10 minute walk away. Did I mention there was free coffee, wine and snacks?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel was perfect for our trip (next to the bus stop, near Basel University, near Basel train station). The room was quiet (windows were to the garden; however, it was possible to hear your neighbours from the next room), clean and comfortable. The staff of the hotel was very hospitable.
Cons: Warm food variety for the breakfast could be better, but cold plates were perfect for all types of people (meat lovers, vegans or vegetarians).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Most of the times when I am visiting Basel Steinenschanze is my default go to location for a couple of reasons: it is close to the city centre, the staff is so friendly and makes you always feel welcome, the rooms and service impeccable all the time and it is an excellent value for money deal. And they have AC ...
Cons: I am missing the plain vegetables as a offer in the breakfast. I mean you can get every morning a couple of salads but sometimes you just need some plain tomatoes, cucumbers or peppers without anything added.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The warm welcoming and smiling faces from all staff in contact. Very home-feel. Services are very accommodating and considerate. Area is quite yet close the tourist areas. Clean and comfortable. Everything is simple, straight forward and easy. Staff are very helpful. I like the shower and bathroom.
Cons: The position of the mirror is a bit award as it is set in front of the luggage platform.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The most amazing property we stayed in thus far. Extremely clean and contemporary. Most comfortable bed, best night sleep in 12 days. Air conditioning, electronic blinds, d’longi machine, a flat device, umbrella and shopping bag at our disposal and an amazing reception staff, plus a welcome drink in the lounge or garden. Loved this hotel!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is very good, staff friendly and helpful.
Cons: The garden-facing rooms do not have air conditioning as standard. As it was 37C, they placed floor-standing units in the rooms. However, they were only just about up to the job so if you go in summer, call the hotal and make sure you get a road-facing room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Cute boutique hotel with charming garden. Very helpful staff
Cons: Bathroom bit dated and very small
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location. Very neat and well designed hotel. Room was very clean. Staff were exceptionally helpful and very friendly.
Cons: Rooms could be a little better sound proofed. Upstairs room was extremely noisy (not the hotels fault- some guests are inconsiderate) and we could hear everything.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was very great for me. Small breakfast was great and the big breakfast also looked quite good (there are two options for breakfast), but I´ve had the small one.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was absolutely great. The staff (especially the two ladies who greeted us on our arrival) were very kind, helpful, professional. They went the extra mile to make our stay pleasant. We really appreciate it.

6.3 Good
Pros: The breakfast was good. We arrived toward the end of the breakfast time range, and some items were not refilled in the buffet. The service was very good.
Cons: We arrived late (about 9 pm or 21:00) due to a rescheduled flight from Warsaw. The outdoor temperature was very hot, and our room was only cooled with a small desk fan. We found a thermostat (?) displaying A/C; however, the room temp. did not cool. We also found labels on the windows which stated the A/C would work if the windows were closed; that did not happen. We were too tired to complain, had to meet our cruise boat the next day, so we paid & left. After a second email to GAIA, Ms.Staubli did respond but denied our request for a refund.

Pros: Gaia Hotel is very elegant and well decorated. It is almost directly across from the train station. Two wonderful restaurants are just a half a block out the door to the right. Cons: No restaurant and property furnishings are dated and worn out (curtains, floors, colors, etc).

7.0 Good
Pros: The location is great with easy transportation options close by. The hotel is very lovely and the 30th floor executive area was awesome, with the exception of not being restocked the afternoon we arrived. It was better the next morning.
Cons: Our room on the 14th floor was at first observation, superb, with a lot of room and nice amenities. However, the furniture (bed, sofa bed, chairs) were extraordinarily hard and uncomfortable. We had just come off a Viking cruise with their tiny staterooms, so we wanted the two nights we stayed in Basel to be roomy. We were also leaving for the US after our stay and we did not get much sleep either night note due to the very hard bed. We tried to pull out the sofa bed and got it partway open, but it was stuck and wouldn't open fully. We could feel it's mattress, which felt softer, but couldn't actually try it for better comfort.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived late. Very tied from a long journey. The receptionist told us that we could use the mini bar for free but we couldn’t find it. Only when I was leaning against the wall it moved away and there it was after a long hot day. Amazing price.
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice design, interior. Good breakfast. Most of the stuff very friendly.
Cons: Two things: 1st issue: The room very small and with terrible view, next to you facing building that reminds prison, asked to change but regret. Second issue: During the breakfast the restaurant manager come to me with complaints why I took six eggs, claimed that I took all the eggs,he was keeping saying with unpleasant attitude it 3 times, around all the people,i feel embarrassed with the situation. ridicules situation, they are charging 31 dollars for the breakfast but un capably to cook more that six eggs, I will never come back, not recommended at all. I will be glad for compensation and management response. The stuff should be trained and be customer oriented.

Cons: Room did not have coffee and tea making facilities. Wouldn't have booked if this had been known.
4.3 Okay
Pros: The staff was kind
Cons: I paid for a hotel with a parking spot; I had to park my car in a public garage almost 1km far from it, during the night and pay for it.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Situated in the ancient centre of Basel, the Teufelhof is a beautiful hideaway. Very room is different. The interior design is subtle and superb. The cultural aspect is important, original pictures everywhere. The whole hotel is like a gallery. The food is excellent. The staff is friendly and caring. Definitely my choice in Basel.
Cons: Nothing to complain
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous location. Really interesting house. Delicious breakfast included in the price. The restaurant in the courtyard did a delicious dinner. Not cheap but not outrageously expensive and delicious.
Cons: We were in a room at the top of the building, during the heat of summer. There was a standalone air conditioner but it was VERY noisy and barely cooled the room because the vent was in the room so it was pumping out hot air as well as trying to cool the room ....
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location, the comfort and above all the restaurant & food was awesome
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Probably the best dinner of our 3-week trip. Each dish was outstanding. The meats were cooked perfectly.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Room was clean, comfortable, and had quite modern furnishings. Staff was friendly and helpful. Very good breakfast included with room.
Cons: Room was not air conditioned. Had to use a small flight of stairs to get to our room, which was cumbersome with luggage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and excellent location
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was clean, quiet, and modern. There is free fruit in the reception area!
Cons: WiFi was pretty much unusable during peak hours - it was extremely slow with frequent timeouts. It became decent enough after about 11PM.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly and very kind. Breakfast was great and service was amazing! The restaurant is delicious and the bar is very cool!
Cons: The stairs need to be restored. The building is beautiful and we'll maintained but the stairs need some work to level them are they are leaning towards the middle of the spiral.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great, people were very friendly - the location is perfect
Cons: the best
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very clean, nice and comfortable room. Small details, such as free water and very tasty coffee&tea in the room, as well as toiletries and slippers made it even more pleasant - the devil is in the details after all. Staff was super friendly.
Cons: Nothing. It was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly!
Cons: The only thing we didn’t like was the pillows. Everything else was terrific!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were incredible. A group of us took a river cruise together. Only 4 of us (2 rooms) were staying at the hotel with others departing at various times during the day. The hotel staff stored the luggage onsite for us. This was so helpful and incredible service. We appreciated it so much. This hotel went above and beyond.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spotless
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great spot for exploring Basel. The outdoor restaurant was obviously popular, but we only had a drink there. The breakfast was fantastic.
Cons: Bath gel but no bar of soap in the bathroom. Never saw any indication of a health club, but I jogged along the river, so it was fine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here after taking a river cruise, and we arrived very early to drop our luggage and walk the area. This was accomplished in a quick, friendly and efficient manner. Off we went to explore the Rathaus (very close) and then more of the local sights. Back to the hotel to get settled and ready for dinner. We had room 420 which was well situated and quiet and large. The room had a refrigerator and a safe. Bath towels are body towel size. One thing about the hallways: there are intermittent stairs (just 3 or 4 only in some areas) so if it’s hard for you to move your luggage, they are happy to do this for you. Ice is available and it's free. It is delivered to your room, so a small tip is a good idea. We ate at Brasserie Steiger which is connected enough to the hotel to charge dinner to your room. It was very good - good wine and meal selection. We figured this was our best option as the other restaurants in the area were doing Cordon Bleu 6-10 different ways, at varying prices. So in this instance, the easy choice was the best for us. The next day we were off by train to Chur and they arranged a taxi that arrived at the exact time we requested. We enjoyed everything about this place and if I ever return to Basel, I will stay here.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Older building with charm and modern amenities. Hot shower with great water pressure. Comfortable bed and convenient to the old town and the tram for connection to the SBB for travel almost anywhere in Europe.
Cons: A/C works but is not up to US standards. It’s in the 90s now and the room A/C struggles to get belo 80. Better than many places I’ve stayed in Europe but....
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I was in Basel for a conference which was held at the Basel University. The location of your hotel was perfect for attending this event which was a short 10 minute walk up the hill. Getting to your hotel was easy using public transport from the Airport and Swiss Bahnhof. There weren't too many cobbled roads to drag wheeled suitcases to get to the hotel.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean. Great staff. And great location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was comfortable the room was pleasant. Staff wonderful, the location was the BEST! So appreciated the free tram/50% off ticket received at check-in. It made our Basel trip so much more enjoyable. Lovely hotel I will remember and recommend to everyone! Thank You.
Cons: Nothing that I disliked.

Pros: The breakfast was very good and offered a very nice selection of food.

Pros: Nice generous breakfast, friendly host. Easy to get to the centre of Basel by tram.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice owners, close to Basel city by tram 11, free daily tickets for the tram included, clean place, good breakfast
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house was fantastic, very nice and clean. The facilities were good. Also close to a few restaurants about 10 min walk and a minimarket. Host and hostess are very nice people. I stayed for one night and left very early in the morning. So too early for breakfast time, but they prepared a breakfast take away bag for me for on the road and even left a greeting card on it. That was a nice touch. The neighbourhood is safe and quiet. So you can get a good sleep and also park your car close by. I liked that there was some fruit, water and chocolate in the room. The free wifi connection was good. I also got a visitor card from the owner, but did not have a chance to use it. It is for the public transport and discounted admission for activities in the region.
Cons: No compliants. Maybe avoid driving during peak hours in the vicinity due to alot of traffic at the roundabouts.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Awesome! My stay was well too short. The host is very pleasant and dependable. I will come back.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable. Very clean. The breakfast was first class.
Cons: It was all good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bottmingen is a lovely little village and only 15-20 min into Basel by Tram. Doris Kleger is a great host and really cares about her guests. She and her husband made me feel very welcome and were very friendly and helpful at all times. Based on this experience I consider booking more B&B stays as it is lovely to interact with others while travelling for work. Scoring 10/10.
Cons: Very limited air condition in Basel / Switzerland - good for the environment, not so good for the ones who are not used to it. I stayed at one of the hottest weeks and was sometimes overwhelmed by the heat (up to 38°C), especially when I had to walk a little up-hill the last couple of meters from the tram station. But Doris was great and reminded me in the morning to keep the shutters down so that it is not too hot in my room for when I return. She gave me fresh bottled water every day and even offered ice-cream to cool down. Could not have asked for a better host!

7.0 Good
Pros: Very spacious. Welcome fruit, water, wine and beer. convenient location- good supermarket nearby.
Cons: Personally, there was too much design knick-knacks that were annoying instead of appealing. It made for a homely feeling, but felt more like clutter. The unit is very clean, but there was a strong odor of cat-litter box that could't be rid of. The apartment tries to be upscale, but it feels more ikea than luxury.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Amazing views. Modern apartment with nice terrace. The owner was very friendly and made us feel welcome. We loved our stay.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very cozy apartment just next to the Kunts Museum. The landlord is so considering, you can find anything you need at the apartment, even a pizza cutter or a sticky roller for clothes. And I love the balcony! Just Fantastic!

Pros: They give a ticket to use all the public transportation in the city free no charge for all the days you're staying. Very easy and convinient. also it's only 2 minutes walk to the tram stations that will get you quickly to the main city and old city. I was surprised that the place looks even better than the pictures.
Cons: I was in July and the weather was extremely hot, 32 degrees Celsius, and it was too hot inside the room. No air-conditioner and no fan. So it was pretty hot at night. But there's a windows.

Pros: Great value with kitchenette.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The Manager of Casa was lovely!

Pros: It was just ok
Cons: The towels and bed sheets
9.3 Excellent
Pros: For a city like Basel this guesthouse is pretty cheap. The room was great, with a modern kitchen and all the needed appliances and utensils to cook and eat (which is great when meals are so expensive). The common bath is very clean and comfortable. Bed is OK. A table was great for both working and eating. The location is close to the city centre and very quiet.
Cons: The fridge could have been quieter. There was also some water on the bathroom floor once, don't know where it comes from.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location: easy walk to 2 tram lines, 2 supermarkets nearby, quiet residential area Apartment: very clean, comfortable, excellent thoughtfully provisioned kitchen, cool even in very high heat because of the fans, loved the balcony Very helpful owner-manager

Cons: Internet is really too slow.

Pros: This is an excellent, family run, self catering guest house where we were made very welcome. It is in a quiet location near Burgfelderplatz with tramway links to all of Basel. Several supermarkets are nearby but so are small restaurants and bistros.
Cons: There is nothing to dislike about this guest house.

Cons: No desk in the bedroom just a low table and armchair. I worked downstairs in the lobby area which had table you could sit at. Not ideal for phone meetings but OK for email.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location
Cons: My room was tiny and overlooked a shop inside a shopping centre. I booked a queen room but it was tiny. I have stayed here a few times and there are much bigger rooms with better views.

Pros: Easy walking distance of the river and tram stop. Our room at the back was quiet. Good breakfast. Excellent restaurant 400 yds along the road.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic breakfast, beautiful backyard
Cons: No air-con, too hot in summer
7.5 Good
Pros: The food was very good. We were disappointed to not be able to dine in the garden due to the rain.
Cons: Due to the hot weather prior to our arrival, the room was very hot when we checked in. When we were going to breakfast the next morning we noticed that the room next door was much cooler since the window had been fully opened and aired out. We tried opening the window more fully and redirecting the fan, but it would have been better if that had been done prior to our checking into the room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was beautiful. The personnel was very helpful and nice. There was always somebody at the reception. The gym facilities were very nice. I liked to have a minibar with free beverages every day. The bed was very comfortable and the room was big, super clean and quiet. I was in a congress at the Congress Center and this hotel was an 8-minute walk from there, which made it quite convenient to come and go several times a day. There is also a tram stop around 50 meters away from the hotel and this tram takes you to the train station.
Cons: There was no air conditioning in the room and I had problems to sleep for 2 nights because there was a heatwave in the country, which made the nights to be around 30 Celcius degrees. On the last night, I was told that they had refrigerated mattresses' covers they could give me right before going to bed, but actually, the one I got was not cold at all so it didn't even help.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast garden area and the location was good.
Cons: No air con in the heat even though we did have a fan
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Furnature and decoration
Cons: No free Parking No Air Condition High Price

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staffs were very friendly and courteous. The hotel has very hip design! It provided complimentary bike to use during our stay. It's location is very nice, close to the cute old town, perfect to explore the area on foot or by bike. I also appreciate they have a water tap (still and sparkling)/ tea/ fruit station on the same floor we stayed. Overall really enjoyable stay.
Cons: The bedding, towel were a bit rough. Would be nice to have some soft towel and bed sheet.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel with all kinds of extras and friendly staff. Loved the umbrellas provided at the reception as it was rainy. Beautiful bar. Spacious room, toilet and bathroom separate. Liked the couch. Free chilled and bubbled water and tea at every floor. Ironing room on 3rd floor great idea! Great location, very central and close to tram (Bankverein).
Cons: Breakfast pricey but this price is average for Basel/CH (Swiss is overall pricey). My boyfriend thought the styling was a bit cold (concrete floor in room). Only thin sheets available in room, OK it was summer but bit too cold for me. Some noise from hallway.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: excellent location friendly staff and good breakfast

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent for our two night stay. We easily got everywhere we wanted to on foot. The library was a nice additional space for us, and the hotel room was designed and configured for our maximum comfort.
Cons: It was expensive and the announced "snacks" available in the library were pretty much non-existent. There were not very many restaurants close by, but that isn't a fault with the hotel.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were brilliant - great girls at the front desk, helpful and informed and friendly.
Cons: Expensive for the level of facilities and the food was good but exceptionally pricey.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: hip modern hotel with good sound proofing
