room was comfortable and had good selection for breakfast. didn't like not having trea and coffee making facilities in room
Very near to the Central Station. Breakfast was good with price in mind. Receptionist was friendly. Old and narrow space.
Staff was great in every way that a professional and friendly staff should be. No real dislikes, just meager breakfast buffet and somewhat small room.
Just a block from the train station, comfortable beds, good continental breakfast. Room was pretty small and Spartan, no suitcase stands or toiletries, very few power outlets especially near beds. No air conditioning and heater did not work. Midweek price was way too high--I wouldn't pay more than $200 out the door...
Great location. Close to central station. Great service from the front desk. Good breakfast. Some rooms require to take few steps of stairs with no ramp. Not good with big luggage (or elderly).
location Room 331 had a foul smell coming from the bathroom.
ample breakfast buffet, but lousy coffe. dobbel bed too soft, type hammock feeling.
The staff was helpful and I liked my room. We came in the middle of the renovation of the lobby, and it was a little inconvenient, but as I said, the staff was very helpful. I had to be in a wheelchair, and the elevators were small. Otherwise... all went well.
convenient location carpet had been torn out of hallway on the entire floor that I was on giving a somewhat bombed out feel to the place
Located in the "cheap hotel district" this is exactly what we were hoping for from our stay! Terrific location (next door to the main train station), clean hotel, nice staff with easy check-in/check-out process, and a breakfast buffet that gives you a little taste of what the food will be like! Enjoyed our stay! Rooms are small which we knew. Also, buffet does get crowded as others have mentioned but would recommend for a fine spread of bread, meat, eggs, and some fruit! Would also recommend bringing your own soap/shampoo.
close to station no water in the room
Star hotel is great for family, location is very good and the breakfast is good also
The bus was very conveniennt and despite the closeness to a busy route it was very quiet There was no really comfortable area to relax
Rooms were pretty nice and clean Location was not bad, just a 10 minute walk to central station Housekeeping was very poor. They just make your bed and replace towels...glasses were not replaced. Trash was never emptied. Minibar items never replaced. Also frosted glass door to toilet was strange and awkward. I'm all for open modern design but not where you are sitting on toilet and you can be seen.
Hotel is new and stylish The hotel is situated in a unpleasant location.
Walking distance to Tivoli Gardens. Had a great time there. Rented bicycles from the hotel which was convenient. Our kids really enjoyed the pool. Breakfast was nice, but need to go early. If get there after 9am, then it is extremely crowded. The sushi restaurant on the 12 floor was exceptional. A bit pricey for the size of the rooms. We had a room with a queen size bed and a pull-out sofa. With the pull-out sofa, there is barely enough room to walk from the door to the window.
The amenities and breakfast buffet
Excellent hotel, brand new (three months ago opened) quite near the city centre, with state of the art gym (nautilus last generation machines), large swimming pool, and an excellent congress centre. I combined business and leisure the best way. The staff is super friendly and willing to serve. They also gave us the best non tourist places to eat, have coffee, shop. Definitely recommended!!!
Good value. Good location. Housekeeping a little lax, but not terrible.
Great location - close to train station and Tivoli. Walls were thin and the door did not shut properly unless pushed hard.
The room is reasonably clean Staffs are unfriendly, no smile for anyone! Trying to up sale to guest upon arrival. I arrived early, room not available til 3p so I asked if they can store my luggage until room is ready they were obviously annoyed by such request.
The architecture is a great mix of old world and contemporary. The wood ceiling and support beams in the guest rooms and the brick arches down the center of the hallways make this a one of a kind location. Not a lot of dining options. The brunch buffet was a bit pricey.
The location of the hotel is very safe (near foreign embassies and the royal palace), on the waterfront facing the opera house, and close to wonderful restaurants. The buffet breakfast is great. The structure of the building was built in 1600 or 1700's as huge warehouse, The some large vertical beams are, unfortunately, in the middle of the guest rooms. The hallways feature long rows of brick arches. Have stayed in this hotel 4 times. Would be happy to stay there again despite somewhat high prices. The equipment stored between the hallway arches somewhat detracts from the ambience.
cool hotel in good location with friendly and efficient front desk staff. Close to great shopping and good sites. Easy to get to from public transit. The hallways to the rooms sort of ruin the "luxury" impression of the hotel. The thick walls of the original structure run right through them, so they're difficult to navigate and closed in. I think some people would like the mystique of it, so depends on your view of that sort of thing.
Easy to find your way back to. Not far from food and shops. A neat place to stay, wish we had the time to stay longer. Corner of the bed sticking out where you bump your shin and trip as you pass through the room. A bit narrow between furniture and bed.
We really liked the location in proximity to restaurants and sightseeing. Also the decor/look and feel was nice with the brick walls and old beams. Very comfortable and spacious compared to other Copenhagen properties. The staff was just okay.
The location was excellent, near canals and cafes and the concierge staff was very helpful. My room had beams that kept me from easily getting out of bed, and I hit my head badly on one just sitting down in the chair. My phone had been turned off by the prior occupant, and so I missed my wakeup call. The maids should have looked for that and restored service so that didn't happen.
The location was good. Mold in the bathroom, tiny windows, dungeon like feel walking to the rooms. Musty smell, overall dirty. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
This is an iconic hotel on water in the very center of the city. Ofelia Plads is right next to the hotel (with tango on weekend nights in the summer). The breakfast buffet is one of the best I have seen (but it can get crowded if you go there at a wrong time). The rooms with windows facing the street, as opposed to water, are less nice and noisier.
Great location in Copenhagen. Close to shops, restaurants and other sites. Clean and historic style hotel. Plentiful buffet breakfast.
Parking was expensive
Beautiful rough hewn, 12" x 12" beams throughout; multiple skylights with custom coverings; easy access to taxis. See above
Breakfast was wonderful! From the great breads to the juice ipad to the yogurt bar, sliced cheese contraption, and the fresh homemade lemonades/teas. We left every day stuffed and skipped lunch. Extremely efficient - even on New Years when everyone in the building seemed to be checking out, staff were able to get through a line of people backed around to the elevators in about 15 minutes. The building is stunning. You might think it's far removed from downtown by looking at a map, but it's only a 10 minute trip downtown and a train ticket is easy to acquire. The beds were two twins pushed together, basically, which is not the most ideal setup for a couple. Also, the down comforter was SO warm that I was sweating through the sheets...which is unusual.
It looked amazing and was excited to stay. Even though I was prepaid they sold my room to someone else. Then I was loaded in 3 different taxis until they found one that was willing to take me to the hotel they were sending me to. The hotel they sent me to was under construction and would not honor the breakfast that was included in my booking. No Marriott's for me for a while
Outstanding views. Loved the beds. Soaking tub in bath.Room darkening shades. Buffet breakfast was very busy but there was a huge variety of food to meet tastes of many cultures. Downtown Copenhagen is 5 stops by Metro. Excellent conference center with multiple theaters and support services. Even has a huge Coi fish pond and a modern windmill outside. Location is not in the city but Metro stop is only one block away. Denmark is expensive. Hotel has several restaurants that serve great, really expensive, food. Don't be shy about using metro to access shops and restaurants. Shuttle to airport was booked by the time checked in so we took taxi to airport.
Striking design, great staff. empty area of the city, although 2 blocks to Metro.
We've just stayed 4 nights in the Bella Sky Comwell in Copenhagen. The hotel is beautifully designed - with its two leaning towers it is a design I've never seen anywhere else. The hotel is located just 3 minutes walk from the metro, there is a bus station right in front of the hotel and the train station is just one metro station away. It is about 10 minutes drive from the airport when the roads are empty. they have a shuttle to and from the airport most of the time. The room was pretty - and looking at the cold weather outside from the 21st floor made it look better. The room is not too big but large enough, a nice TV set, lamps for reading in bed, there is a nice bathroom, a kettle with complimentary tea and coffee. The staff was very helpful and their English was perfect. The breakfast is rich and tasty. The Library restaurant has a small selection of plates but what we've tried was very good. The grill restaurant was OK but the prices are high - as anywhere in this city. All in all - we had a great weekend vacation.
Building is Danish Modern, close to metro, breakfast buffet, and very green building none
The whole experience was wonderful. Our room was comfortable, beds great, and the bath, shower was the best and the view was beautiful. Breakfast had a good assortment of eggs, meats, cheeses, cereal and pastries, all delicious. We had drinks and smacks in their Sky lounge very pleasant and tasty. not a thing
This is a superior hotel, starting with the unique Danish design. The hotel is built with a slope but when in the hotel you do. ot notice. The hotel location is very close to the airport about 10 minutes and is located a. short straight walk to the metro. The Bella Center is five stops from downtown The hotel is very modern and very Danish in design(open). The hotel is part of shopping and convention center. The hotel room is very large by euro standards with a large modern and open design When you enter the room the HD TV and telephone have you name shown welcoming to the hotel. My room had queen bed. The bathroom was huge and had a large shower. The room had great lighting and a nice hair dryer. Additional, the hotel provided free buffet breakfast that was complete. Included coffee , tea, bread, cereal, fruit, yogurt , Scrabled eggs, bacon , cheese, turkey and ham slices and. sweet rolls. It was quite good. The hotel also provided a free shuttle to the airport. I thought this was a great hotel and an even better value! My only complaint is the lack of glasses in the bathroom, they provided paper cups ,which I felt was not in keeping with the very high standard for this hotel. Paper cups in the bathroom.
The rooms are large and modern. The room rate includes free breakfast & WiFi, a free airport shuttle, and there are Metro & bus stations in easy walking distance, so downtown Copenhagen and the rest of Denmark are easily reached via public transport. Not much history and atmosphere compared to the older hotels in the city, but can't beat the value (when there is no major exposition at the Bella Center). On the down-side- The hotel location itself is pretty isolated- if you want to eat a meal away from the hotel, you will need to take the Metro. Also, there can be a lot of tourist bus traffic- the breakfast room gets overwhelmed, as does the front desk at checkout. Unlike most US travel industry, their website does not give the lowest rates- I usually go to one of the travel websites to get a much lower rate than the hotel's direct booking website, and have found that often a rate search conducted from a Danish IP address gets a significantly lower rate than from a US IP address (and sometimes the reverse!)
Loved the views at night with the floor to ceiling windows. Staff was very helpful and kind. Room was a good size by European standards and included breakfast was plentiful. Shower did not drain properly, TV would not turn on so access to some services was not possible.
We were most impressed by the front desk staff's level of professionalism and friendliness. They were very well trained and had many suggestions regarding our overnight stay in Copenhagen. The airport shuttle worked both ways (to/from) the hotel. The room was amazing.
We stayed only one night pre-cruise, but enjoyed the contemporary flair of the hotel and the views from our room on the 23rd floor. Included breakfast was satisfying. At first we were a little intimidated by the walk to the Metro, but it was closer than we thought and very simple to use. The price we paid through Kayak was excellent, too! While the Metro was convenient to the hotel, the hotel wasn't that convenient to anything else but the airport. Might be great for the conference attendee, but not so much for an eager, wide-eyed, first-time visitor to Copenhagen.
the room and the wiew no
The rooms were a good size for scandinavia, and there was a very good view. Although a 5 star hotel there was a general small mindedness and lack of orgnasation; very expensive wifi, very expensive breakfast and be careful when to go there as we just avoided very long queues. I arrived early and did not need to be told that normal checkin was at 16:00, when I did come back after 16:00 nothing had been done i.e. had to complete checkin, bags not already in room etc
Service in bar/restaurant The late check-in
Very comfortable beds. The executive lounge was good value. The location is good enough but it's a bit of a walk to the absolute city center.
Great Marriott hotel on beautiful river front setting. Walkable to all the key sights in Copenhagen.
Que to check out / que to hold baggage - lots of waiting
The helpfulness of the staff could not be faulted and the choice of food for breakfast excellent.
The beds were extremely comfortable and the view from our room was lovely. We were upgraded from a city view to water ciew room. The reception staff took too long to answer the phone. Perhaps more staff are required?
The hotel provides a very good location to Tivoli Gardens and Train Station
Cleanliness and Location. Within walking distance of City. Our Room wasnt automatically cleaned.
comfort Too long time tjekking out
The location was great (easy walking distance to central station) and the rooms were were clean and comfortable. The free breakfast was great as well. A false fire alarm went off at 4:30AM the first night of my stay.
It's within easy walking distance to the central station . Loved the room! Clean, functional and modern. I liked everything about the hotel.
The staff was helpful and friendly, and the hotel was very pretty. My room was small and expensive, but reasonable compared to most places in Copenhagen. My room didn't come with a breakfast. It's not a big thing, I'm just saying.
Small room, without a/c so we open the window and it was a little bit noisy, breakfast was really nice in a big and nice room. The stand was very helpful
The hiotel is very well lcoated, minutes away from Tivoli Garden and the central station. It's clean, with very pretty rooms and helpful staff. Breakfast was nice, in a big, bright room. It also has a very welcoming reception, where you can sit and relax while planning your day or waiting for your friends to get ready. The wifi signal in the bedrooms was weak. At night, the area is a bit noisy and in the middle of the red light district.
The location was great, along with the lobby and staff. Nowhere on the website did I find pictures of the part of the hotel where I stayed. Different rooms.
We stayed in the annex, Absalon City Hotel's cheap section. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful with directions and recommendations, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is walking distance to everything in Copenhagen, especially Tivoli Gardens. Part of staying in the annex is shared bathroom facilities - the only downside. However, this is what you pay for in the cheaper lodging in the annex, so it's definitely a good value.
No complaints whatsoever. Room waa very clean and comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly. Loxation is aupwr convenient for getting to/from the main train station.
Clean, comfy, nice rooms. Good location, right near main metro but in a quiet area. They put us in the Annex rather than the Hotel-- so shared bathrooms and shared shower for 20 rooms (instead of the hotel's usual private bathroom). We had booked via kayak for 'hotel' at their lowest room price ($96), but there was no mention in the booking that it was just for the Annex, so I felt downgraded without notification-- the price was a bit high for a hostel (but not totally unreasonable-- the place is very nice). The Annex is more like a Hostel and was fine for 1 night, but probably not useful for folks who want their own bathroom.
Great location, steps to the central train station (15 min. ride to the airport). The room was very comfortable, well appointed, and extremely clean, while and the lobby a great place to relax and the garden and sidewalk tables and chairs are perfect for smokers. Excellent value for the price. Rooms do not have air conditioner and, while the city's temperature in August was cool, keeping the windows open at night was not an option because of the street noises generated by people. The staff graciously gave us a second room, which was significantly better in terms of noise, but you still could hear people eating breakfast in the garden
No Air Conditioner!?! At the very least, a hotel needs to have Air Conditioning. There was a fan in the room!!
It was a nice room, clean, comfortable, friendly staff, great breakfast, and convenient location. N/A
Quite and stylish. Too far from the city, and problems getting to Congress at Bell Center
Comfortable rooms, nice design, next to a shopping mall and a train station.
We were late back on the Saturday night and the restaurant was due to close but they served a starving group of us a main course which was delightful.
the air conditioning was not working at all, the hotel was hot and humid and to sleep you had to have the windows open but the road noise was appaling, thooughly uncomfortable night.
The rooms were clean. I loved the modern feel of The Island and the view was beautiful. Far from the city center but it was close to the train so that made up for it.
The waterfront is beautiful and very new. The location is not close to anything. Additionally the beds were too soft and bouncy.
Excellent view. Very nice room and bathroom. Very modern design. Location is a distance from restaurants but is close to a train station.
The staff were not just professional but incredibly nice. I would stay here again without a 2nd thought. Christian at the front desk was incredibly helpful not just during check-in but also when guiding us about sightseeing. The room design is absolutely lovely. It is a pleasure to walk into a hotel with such thoughtful design. Breakfast was an excellent spread too. Nothing that I felt was missing. There were some minor issues with the room - previous occupant threw stuff down the drain that clogged the sink. I feel cleaning staff should have notified maintenance since it was a significant clog but the staff were incredibly responsive when I reported it. One thing that I didn't care for was the half length glass protection in the shower. I found it took too much effort to not splash water outside the tub.
The long hours for the gym access were appreciated as I was working long hours. It was a little strange to have the sauna in the gym rather than appended to the changing rooms. Also, the breakfast was brilliant! The rooms could have been bigger, as I stayed for 2 weeks and it felt a little cramped at times.
Hotel was modern, clean and overall it was a nice stay. Quality of the free breakfast was better than most. The hotel is close to the hop-on hop-off boat and bus stop, so if you buy the 48 hour sight seeing tour you can hop on the boat that takes you to several stops around the city... This almost makes up for the hotels fairly poor location... Location is on the outskirts of the city so it's about a 15-20 minute walk into the city... We had a problem with our room keys where they didn't work and we had to get new keys at the front desk... This happened twice... and the second time was after breakfast on the day we were checking out... I had to wait about 10 minutes in a line at the front desk to get new keys...
friendly staff It's not really a hotel for a leisure break, it's more of an efficient, business-like operation.
Friendly hotel, clean and comfortable. Excellent location.
Great location across from Tivoli and train station, near main walking street.
The location eight next to the train station When we arrived after an overnight flight, feeling very tired, the hotel computer was down and we had to wait for a coup[e of hours in the lobby for it to be fixed. The hotel should have made some sort of small gesture to compensate us for this. Also the breakfast included thawed frozen fruit which had turned rancid one day. The next hotel in Bergen had FRESH fruit. like melon, cantaloupe and kiwi. was was cut up and delicious.
staff very good, graeat views from 17th floor menus in alberto k with only 5 or 7 course meal. no choice
great location and very clean bar was very very expensive.staff at reception were efficient but were not very friendly.
Nice view from the window. A lot of mirrors in the room. More than enough hangers. Tea kettle. Free wifi in the room. Nice lighting. They gave us a twin bed although we are a couple. No slippers, no bathrobe, and very few bathroom supplies (no cotton swabs, no cotton discs, just your basic shower cap, shampoo and lotion). Inconvenient bathtub/shower arrangement, but they never are convenient in hotels for some reason. The restaurant the consierge recommended was not very good.
Nice big workout facility.
Staff was awesome. The towel I used in the AM looked like someone had previosly used it for toilet paper. Grossed me out. Not something you'd expect at a higher $ hotel.
I like the location, it was perfect. TThe first stay there, I wasn't as enamored as I became with the second stay. First time the room was a bit cramped and a bit worn, the second stay the room was much improved. Good service and very helpful staff. The firstt time we were there, the room was a bit tired and need to be redone. The second time there we had a remodeled room that was great.
Extremely good value for price. Very nice setting. Extremely comfortable bed. Nicely decorated room with a big window. Entrance to the spa is free for the hotel guests: you can access the jacuzzi, the sauna and the steam bath (remember to bring along a swimming suit). Easy and fast connection to the airport by metro (Norreport station): 15 minutes metro ride plus max 10 minutes walking. Centrally located. Staff very helpful. We booked a 'small' double room. I have a light sleep so I personally prefer when the actual bedroom is 'isolated' from the corridor with a little entrance rather that having just a door separating your bed from the outside. Given the general high standards of the hotel, I was expecting the room to be a bit bigger and more isolated. Anyway I wasn't really disturbed while sleeping so I found it still a very comfortable room. Maybe the carpet on the hallway did the trick and probably the hotel guests were very respectful too ;) Finally: don't use the bar as a fridge to store your own food. An electronic system will detect you're messing around so it's advisable you read the instructions upfront or that you ask information at the recepti
Were very helpful when I lost a credit card prior to my arrival. Until check-in provided storage for bags, a local map and helpful advice.
Elegance and kindness is what you'll find at this hotel, and in beautiful Copenhagen. No barrier between shower and bathroom except a curtain. Otherwise all fantastic.
The upgrade for we received.
The stuff are very helpful The breakfast finished early
the restrorant patio the so called superior double room is situated on the 4th ! floor without an elevator! it is just after the construction so it's absolutely unacceptable because of the smell of construction materials .I refused to stay in such room, they offered me another one saying it is the ordinary( not superior). There were so small windows that there was very stuffy there. Some strange staircase lead from the roof directly to the window! and when I was checking out next morning the reception stuff (the other one) claimed that it was also SUPERIOR room!
Appreciate quick change of room when found toilet leaked. Very nice breakfast and attention during same
location, staff My room was a little tired decor - wise
Hotel is quite nice but with confusing layout in numerous houses. After you learn where your room is and what elevator goes there it gets better.Room was nice and the staff friendly and helpful.
The quality of the bedroom did not match that of the public areas.
The hotel personnel was really helpful in finding our way in Copenhagen, the rooms are splendid (superior room) and it was very quiet although there were fully booked during the week
The staff was very professional and helpful. While the hotel was very nice, you could easily hear noise from the hall and other rooms.
Lovely rooms, very new and clean. The hotel staff is very friendly and the breakfast is great! There where some junks in the street making a lot of noise at night but I would still very much recommend this hotel as I think the junks where just there because of the work being done to the building across the hotel.
This is a "new" (i.e., renovated) hotel. The rooms are beautifully decorated. The breakfast is great. Great location.
The Hotel staff went out of their way to be helpful and were very friendly. The room was very comfortable and very attractively decorated. Even though they were still doing some construction we were not inconveinenced or disrurbed at all. The Breakfast was excellant and bountiful. It is short walk to Tivoli and many other Copenhagen sites of interest. We would highly recommend this hotel as a best place to stay in Copenhagen. We can't say enough good things about the staff and the hotel! Copenhagen is a very urban city with an apparently open policy towards drug use. There were people openly doing drugs on the same street as the hotel. This is not the fault of the hotel, as we witnessed this in other parts of the city. As in many Europena cities, the accomodations are not handicapped capable.
The food served in the rastaurant in the evening is far to expensive regarding what is served. For example the "Tapas" plate costing 225 dk, consisted mostly of raw vegetables and there was not much food on the plate. Compared to restaurant prices and the quality of food in even middle range restaurants this was according to us not av reasonable price. Overall the food in the restaurant is not good, except the breakfast buffet which is ok.
Loved the decor. Great location blocks from train station and Tivoli gardens.Fabulous but expensive breakfast. Older bed, creaked as we rolled over. Loud street noise as a restaurant is just across the street. Room was very warm and because the street was so noisy didn't open the window.
Location, service, food, spa thin walls, creaky floors so you can hear your neighbors go down the hall and enter the rooms.
The central location, good breakfast and the coffee/snack available during the day. The noise outside the hotel from building works and bin emptying. Some of the crockery at breakfast were chipped, especially cups.
Very helpful staff, great location just a walk from the train station. Spa and sauna area very relaxing. Good value for money. didnt like having to pay to use the sauna and the spa, thought that would be free.
Very nice and cosy room
Decor for lobby and room
Our flight landed in Copenhagen super early (0700), so we were a bit nervous when we arrived to the hotel well before check-in time. The front desk was super welcoming and had a room ready for us immediately! Check-in couldn't have been any easier, and our stay was wonderful! We were able to drop our bags in our room, and begin roaming the city (all within walking distance) immediately. There is plenty of room to lounge around either inside or outside on the beautiful terrace. We only ate breakfast there, but it was delicious and full of options for the picky eaters. Late night we grabbed a glass of wine at their bar and were offered fantastic recommendations by the bartender. They also had free organic apples every morning sitting by the front door for anyone to take. This place went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and pleasant. Some reviews complain about the lack of AC, but we had a room with a balcony overlooking the terrace, and a gentle breeze kept the room cool the entire time. Noise was never an issue for us either, and we slept quite comfortably at night. Other reviews also complain about the towels, but they were perfect and the bathroom was beautiful. 5/5 stars!! We hope to come back soon! Nothing but good things to say about this place!
Renovated room, good restaurant. No parking on building.
Internet is free throughout the hotel. Breakfast is good. Location is super. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Bathroom supplies are missing. I would recommend the hotel provides hair conditioner, shampoo, normal soap. All in one soap attached to the wall is not of a good quality. Superior rooms are good in terms of size, views.
The place of the hotel and our room was splendid . Must be really lovely to have have drink at the cosy bar when it snows . We look forward to our next visit .
the room is perfect and the service is very good, the location is not as good as we expected we got a bad expereince on payment, the old man made mistakes on payments,he deducated 1080DKKS moe from our credit card, and until now,we still busy on it
Friendly staff Charges for late check out
Central location, very clean, friendly staff.
Budget friendly hotel conveniently located within walking distance to all the major attractions. Hotel had air conditioning in the room and an excellent breakfast buffet. Well stocked with lots of seating.
The location was perfect, next to the pedestrian shopping street. Our room was spacious and nice, something that was really important for us since we had our baby daughter with us. But as far as I know not all rooms of this hotel are spacious. Breakfast was OK. Generally we were really satisfied from the hotel selection.
The location in the heart of the city The worn out carpets
Facilities and staff friendliness much improved since my previous stay last year. Great rooms, bar catering and general service. Free WiFi is perfect for business.
Incredibly friendly staff and great breakfast buffet. Location was great next to city hall, pedestrian mall and easy access to Metro and Train (to airport) Gym was closed
That the room was very nice, the beds was really good and a good location. They did not know that we were coming, could not find our booking even if we had the bookingnr on email. The price included breakfast, but both nights we stayed the could not see that we had paid for breakfast and when we were checking out, they wanted us to pay extra. It was all solved when they saw our booking on email, but still ruined a bit of a nice feeling. Our daughter tried to call the hotel for over 45 min, then she took a taxi to the hotel to meet us (still on the phone waiting for them to pick up). We tried to call for more towels and could not get through.
location is wonderful, in the city just 3 mins by walk to central station. heating system seems to be not working..
The bed was very comfortable, as was the room. The parking was acceptable but using a local/pay parking system. Breakfast was not acceptable at all, runny eggs (and this was earlier in the breakfast cycle) and the sausage was cold.
Please write at least 15 words No bathtub
The staff is really friendly, and the room is clean and comfy. The hotel location is great, about 7 minutes walking to conpenhagen central train station and Tivoli gardens, 13 minutes walking to the main shopping district (stroget). Just outside the hotel a big shopping supermarket (LIDL) is about to open so you won't have any problem getting your domestic needs. The Hotel is a known chain which has about 45 branch throughout scandinavian countries, so be sure that this hotel has a reputation to build and maintain. To sum it up, we had a great time. The rooms have these old boxed TVs!, i thought these TVs have gone extinct! for a 4 stars Hotel they all should be replaced with an LCD TVs (which i'm sure are not expensive to get). There are about 16 TV local channels besiedes BBC entertinment and Discovery channel which are all dead boring to watch, a dish should be installed with some movie channels instead of the boring cable channels. The wet room in the bathroom is nice but it is seperated from the rest of the bathroom with only a curtain, taking a shower can be messy sometimes, isolating the wet room with a glass door is more modern like and more hygienic. One big double bed cover is better than having two single bed covers!
Very quiet - great sleep
Comfort and location The bar coult be nicer
Location Long cues at the lobby counter
We stayed in room 264 and it was noisy both from next room (a door between the two) and also from the garden if the window was open.
The charge for internet connection was too high a day cost what I pay for a month. It should be free!
We received an email prior to checking in asking what time we would arrive . We explained 10 am due to leaving cruise ship they said no problem we will have your room ready . When we arrived they had no knowledge of letter and no room until late afternoon and a lobby full of people. They asked if they could put us in another hotel. We agreed. The location was not nearly as good . They double charged us for a room. It was hot . No hvac on top floor. Very dirty carpets and furniture. No wake up call as requested .
stylish, good location Similar to other reviewers, had problems with booking through Kayak. Getaroom.com did not forward $$$ to hotel. Double charged. Had to call credit card company to put a hold on kayak charge made 2 months earlier.
Hotel didn't have the reservations I'd made with Kayak and double-charged me even though I specifically did not authorize it. Didn't like much of what was dealt at this hotel.
it was really dirty everything, the otel needs a remodelation urgently!!!!!
Possibility to hire a bike low seats at breakfast
Proximity to the city centre, and pleasant quarter, a lolt of young people from all around the world. We are 60+ old & approaching retiremment but but are quite young in health & spirit. may be this hotel is not that good for most pepole of our age.
Location, design, atmosphere This isn't really a dislike, just be aware the smaller rooms are REALLY small, if this is an issue, opt for one size larger
The room design was very funny and quirky
very friendly staff, nice design of the lobby, nice breakfast and perfect location, especially for gay travellers - all gay bars etc are very very close i did not find air conditioning in the room which was not a problem when i was staying (in november) but could be if u stay in summer and it is hot.
the aesthetics and the room design and decoration; breakfast was also good. cold atmosphere and staff; too expensive for what it offerred; unpleasant condition statement "we do not accomodate children"
Good location, interesting design I made a reservation via Kayak for November 28th, and arrived from a trans-atlantic flight in the evening to prepare for a dinner at geranium. The lobby is a confused wine-bar/check-in hybrid and between serving drinks, and chatting with a friend the person at the desk told me after 10 minutes there was a problem with my reservation. After another 5 minutes she told me that due to issues with the online reservation agent the hotel had decided to no longer accept bookings and had cancelled my reservation. After approximately another 5 minutes of me trying to understand how this could have happened with a confirmed reservation and reservation number in hand, she told me that the online agent had been informed and that it was their responsibility to inform me - predictably this turned into a she-said/he-said with the online agent subsequently stating that no such conversation had occured. Finally another 5 minutes in, I prevailed upon the person at reception to call my favourite hotel in Copenhagen (which was supposed to be fully booked) and beg for a room. This was finally done and I left. Sadly I was forced to return and actually stay at sp34 due to a strong masochistic streak and a non-refundable booking made prior to my first dealings with them. Sadly sp34 continued in what I can only describe as the worst hotel experience I have ever encountered in Europe. The check in again was confused. The hallways were frigid and the rooms cold. My room a deluxe double, apparently one step below their suite was exactly 11 feet by 15 feet and was tragically decorated in a style you could charitably call "Danish hipster" but which I would relabel nonsensical uncomfortable and bourgeois. The room was claustrophobic and looked out over the main street where at exactly 4:30 AM deliveries began and garbage was removed. The water pressure was poor the shower difficult to direct and the towels appeared to have been remade from recycled cardboard. Having to check out at 6:45 AM to make a flight I inquired since I had paid for a breakfast and thought it started at 6:30 if I could take something to go? Sadly by this point I was not surprised to hear that I would be charged 15 DKK for a danish and no rebate would be offered for uneaten breakfast.... I left not feeling hungry at all. I would beg those of you who expect a contemporary tasteful danish hotel experience to stay ANYWHERE else. The sp34 may be in its infancy but I anticipate this hotel is never going to amount to more than mediocre service and offer pretentions to ill-defined danish cool.
The hotel was in a great location and had a convonvient bar in the lobby. The rooms we clean and the bed was comfortable!
Excellent reception, comfortable beds, quiet area, very good breakfast Nothing!
buisness and plessure no
Polite staff. Poor equipment and expensive everything.
the location and comfort for that level of price I would expect a better level of acoustical insulation
location I did book a meeting room, + coffie, water and soft drinks,by tel.con. to your confference/even dept. and gave my name and reservation number at your hotel. And asked for a confirmaton by email. I received no email and t the point of need, this meeting room reservation was not in your books.
Great Location, can't be beat! a little rundown; the floors used to be warmed, but the staff removed the switches to warm the tiles... kind of cheap. VERY expensive for what was offered over $40 US for an OK breakfast... but then Denmark is expensive. stay for the location, but don't expect a value
Perfect location, right next to the University Rooms for a hotel in this category are a bit spartan. The hotel is showing some wear and tear. Biggest problem was the noise. It was late September and the weather was not hot, not cold. The hotel had turned on the heat, despite my trying to turn it off. The heat was considerable. I opened the windows to get fresh air and keep the room bearable, but the street noise (all night) was incredibly loud. The hotel is right next to the University, so it was not a surprise as students come home from the bars (until 6am), but it led to a night of little sleep.
Great central location. Sexy Building. Great Restaurant and bar. Comfortable beds, duvets very soft. Well stocked mini bar. Room a bit tired. Wardrobe space tiny. Bathroom had mould stuck in silicone around bath, and plug was closed with dirty water sitting in basin. Bathroom amenities not what they were four years ago. Ren products have been replaced with something cheaper and less desirable.
Easy walking to all sites, located on the pedestrian area... The Stroget, close to the metro too. Wonderful coffee shops all around, and a running sushi place too.
Central location close to pedestrian area in city center. Quiet room (5th floor, not towards road) with good noise isolation within building. Wanna-be design (awkward mixture of cheap parquet and modern dark brown furniture). Small room. No water bottles offered. Room wasn't cleaned after being out 9:00-14:00.
Room546 was great. Huge space and huge bathroom. Windows looking out to clock tower. Service was very good. It was slightly expensive but for weekend birthday celebration it was great.
Its location in the city center.Good breakfast Although the booking was for 2 nights, we were expected for only one night and so we were obliged to wait at the desk. Taking into account the price/night of the room : wardrobe too much small and closed by a curtain! Bathroom size not in adequation with the room size; no shower protection. 90's vintageTV-set ; poor number of TV-channels. In conclusion, very poor value for money.
Rooms were nice, breakfast was quite good and the view from the breakfast balcony was amazing Stayed there with my 16 year old daughter and it was a bit awkward to find out that the bathroom door was transparent glass
It was very relaxing and the staff were very helpful.. We had a great time and we will back again next year.. ;) We got Engaged at your hotel, so we would love to be back on the very same day for 2011 Thank you
Hotel was nice, especially big garden and rooftop terrace where the nice breakfast was served. We had stantard room and it was really nice, big and quiet and bathroom was also really nice and clean. Beautiful surraundings and qreat view to the sea. If you want to swim the nearest beach is in walking distance from the hotel. It was pretty hot weather in beginning of July and there is no airconditioner. Our room got quite hot and we kept windows open but there is a railway really close so that noise was a bit annoying. But when the windows were closed room was really quiet. I would definitely recommend this hotel but probably not in the hottest time of the year...
As usual the Skodsborg Kurhotel & Spa offers a quite and very comfortable stay; fine rooms and situateded close to the coastline, with spa and very fine fitness facilities. The restaurant is absolute recommendable
Spacious rooms compared to most European hotels in this price range (beautifully designed & appointed, too). Nice little balcony. There is a grocery store just down the street, so we saved a lot of money by shopping and preparing food in the well-equipped kitchenette instead of eating out at restaurants, which made this hotel a better value than it would have been otherwise for the nightly rate.. Nice breakfast buffet was also included in our rate (very friendly staff in the restaurant). Loved the indoor pool/hot tub. It was a great convenience to be able to do laundry right in our room, but my only (minor) complaint is that the settings for the clothes dryer were difficult to adjust effectively, despite the instructions provided in Danish and English. After three hours of drying time, our clothes were still quite damp. Then it kicked in to overdrive, dried everything to the point of shrinkage, and steamed up the bathroom enough to make puddles!
The wonderful roomy apartment and the friendly staff
The mini kitchen with plates, silverware, and refrigerator. Allowed us to shop for groceries at the mall and save $ from the expensive food in Copenhagen. The extreme taxes on hotel stays. The taxes was 1/3 the total cost. My last visit to the city.
The cleanliness, the staff was very friendly, the rooms have fridge and a microwave so you can save a bit by bringing food over. No free wifi on the room, the shower is no door/curtain style, and water gets everywhere in the bathroom, but looks fancy as hell
the location is good, it is near the the port, and there is bus 26 to the center [about 15 minites drive], itws in a pleasant neighborhood and about 10 minites walk to the The Little Mermaid. Price does not include breakfast and adding breakfast is very expensive.
I liked the fact there was a kitchen fridge etc to make snacks. The swimming pool and jacuzzi was also a lovely addition. Staff at the desk were very variable- ranging from helpful to rude! Dish washer needed servicing so all the china glasses etc were not very clean.
Great location. Easy reach of town center, sights and transport. Good facilities. Room was comfortable, warm and well appointed. Reception staff and room staff were all fantastic. Close to a small supermarket and across from a great little Italian restaurant - Tio Mario, as well as the adjoining hotel restaurant Ottos which did a good breakfast. Both very minor niggles....Toiletries provided were slightly haphazard - shampoo and conditioner only one day, shower gel and shampoo the next! Jacuzzi could have been a bit warmer .....
Great hotel for quiet and confortable stay. Close to public transit (one station to downtown). Very spacious, fully-furnished appartment for the price. Better than what i expected: thumbs-up ! Great staff and facilities (gym, pool, internet). Excellent restaurant, grocery store in the building. No complaints.
Breakfast was surprisingly good and the staff very friendly. Underground parking is expensive (as everywhere in Copenhagen) but facility is clean and safe. 150 DKK per 24 hours in room wi-fi per computer is not family friendly. others charges less or nothing. Wi - fi in lounge is FOC.
The studio apartment room had lovely interiors. We rented bikes from the hotel which was really great. However the lack of free internet in the rooms was definitely a downfall. The free internet in the lobby was a little spotty. The location was a little far removed, but at least it was close to a train station.
Unfortunately I didn't have luck with the hotel at all. First of all I have reserved an apartment, nevertheless the lady on the reception was convincing me that this a normal room. I was too tired and at the first moment I agreed on the room. I was quite surpirzed when I found out that there are blood stains on the bed sheet (obviously bed sheets were not changed). I went again to the reception and asked for immediate change of the room. The answer was that they don't have such room, or there is one available but the TV is not working. When I asked to speak with the duty manager, that was rejected with the explanation that he\she is not in the hotel at the moment (4 Star hotel without a duty manager??? Hear for a first time).
great rooms limited internet access - free only in lobby area
