hotel is nice, good location from the airport too close to railway, and you can hear train passing.
Pool Rooms were really disgusting. carpeting was obviously stained from pet soils. the hotel is a non smoking hotel yet my first room assigned smelled like smoke. had to practically beg the front desk for a room change despite the fact that my son has a heart condition and couldn't be exposed to those conditions. the staff was totally unaccomodating and difficult to deal with. didn't like that I had to call the front desk to regulate room temperature which I didn't know until 3am my first night after being hot all night. the thermostat appeared to be working but the air never went on until the front desk allowed it.
Modern building, nice rooms with good air conditioning and balcony, has a good size car park and of course a swiming pool.Nice view of the sea from the breakfast room. staff very pleasent Hotel operates a schuttle bus to the airport and nearby towns. Do not stay in this Hotel unless you have a car, while the nearest village Giovinazzo is about 2.5 kilometres the road is busy and has no footpaths too dangerous to walk especially at night. If you arrive at the Hotel on a Sunday the restaurant is closed and a return taxi trip to Giovinazzo could cost 40 euro. Prices are very reasonable in Pughlia however taxis are the exception.
Good value for money, very polite staff The hotel is located too close to the railway, which is annoing - you can't open the window, because the passing high speed trains wouldn't allow you to sleep.
Checked in at 6pm. Hotel is very bad at responding to emails so there was confusion about the free shuttle from airport. At 11:30pm, upon returning to our room, the foul odor coming from the room was unexplainable. The whole corner of that wing smelt bad. The reception seemed unfazed about it. Gave us another room but not similar to what we had so my two sons had to sleep in one room while my husband was in another and my daughter and I were in another. The front desk was very inexperienced, or just didn't care. The shower curtain in our room was dirty and smelt. Nothing was done about it. Housekeeping didn't leave us an extra roll of toilet paper and we had to call for it early in the morning and were asked to wait until 8am. And the train that runs by every 10min sounds like an earthquake!
difficult to find as we arrived at night and directions were useless
We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel President. The staff was very friendly and were ready to accommodate if at all possible. The staff provided myself with a map of restaurants in the area.
Good breakfast. Beautifull view. The room was big and comfortable. In Puglia (the region where the hotel is) the people are nice and very helpfull, including the hotel's staff. There's nice sandy beach in Bari and rocky beach in Giovinazzo. Very good for businessmen, or for tourists with car. The pool is small, and it was out of order when we were there. There's no way to the beach from the hotel. You have to go through on a little hole on a wall, and then a dirty 'jungel'. The beach is very dirty, it's not for swimming, but the view is very nice from the hotel. Not good for tourists without car.
Rooms cleaned daily. Friendly Staff. Good Breakfast. Availibilty of courtsey bus. Out of the way location.
quite near airport nice pool looked better online Breakfast was really awful. A few crumbs if you were lucky. The hotel was expensive for a basic room over looking a railway line and a bit of dry bread for breakfast. This is Italy-should do wonderful ham, bread, cheeses, coffee!
Location was good. No internet connection for 3 nights and the second day morning the hotel staff told me that there is no internet in all Bari, but it was a lie which I cannot appreciate...Although I am an engineer, I could not have the air-conditioner working at all nights, but I did not ask the hotel staff about it...
Nice and close to the train station The restaurant really isn't worth it
Very central and convenient, had everything I needed
The accomodations are good and the staff was very honest to solve a problem in my booking. Due this I really recommend this hotel.
Friendly staff .Clean room. Few facilities around. Close to train station and easy access to airport transportation. Free internet (reasonable quality). Could be cheaper.
The staff was very helpful. Location was also excelent. They have on the site "free wi-fi internet". I stayed there for 3 days and it never worked properly.
actually iam arrived at 10:00pm and ileft in early morning,,.the hotel close to train station. breakfast very pooooor
Nice People, next to the railway station, modern Breakfast was not really convincingly, no fresh fruitsjuices par exemple
Nice hotel very close to the train station.
Excellent hotel. Very nice and clean room. Free and very fast internet and free parking. Very spacious and safe parking lot. Staff is very kind and helpful. Comfortable and refreshing place. Slightly out of town. If you are to visit Bari you need a car. Breakfast was weak.
Big and free parking, fast and free internet in the room, big rooms with all necessary facilities. Late breakfast (starting at 7:30) so I couldn't have breakfast at all. Hotel is rather old and it needs some refreshment. I got an invoice issued to booking.com instead of my company name.
the architecthiural image and specialy the garden breacfast time
Even dont know from what to start... The location is awful! If you dont have a car or if you gonna leave car on the parking, this hotel is not for you! Yes, it's 500 metres from sea but (!!!) there's no beach in that place and the seashore is rocky! Also there's a speedway near the hotel. So when you gonna go to the center by bus it's ok but when you come back from the center you have to pass the overpass which is in 100 metres from bus stop and if you come back in the night it's absolutely dark there and quite scary. It took about 30 minutes to get to the center from hotel (on the back way +10 minutes to pass the overpass). When we came back in the 1st day to the hotel from the city, we discovered that our room didnt tidy up. We carried out the rubbbish by ourselves. Breakfast was too poor for that price. There wasnt any chioce in juices, there wasnt any yougurt, no muesli. The staff almost dont speak english. When I asked to call a taxi I was given a telephone number and had to call by myself. Too expensive for such conditions
friendliness of staff when they were there a quiet and fairly secluded place even if close to the highway free and working Internet access almost no breakfast bad location if traveling without a car
Room looks good and it's clean and comfortable, hotel staff is nice Very far from the city center next to a big road (its between the house and the sea also) that is why it noisy, and you can not reach the sea there.Teracce has no equipment
Renewed on 2009. Room was spacious, with big screen TV. Villa/hotel was clean and the staff/owners were friendly. Wi-Fi was good. Italian breakfast (Cappuccino, croussan, jam and toasted bread). Easy to reach by main highways, and close with Bari center, airport or port. Parking as well with no charge. No elevator, and no support staff to help you lifting luggage in upper floors.
Clean and comfortable Difficult to find. Nowhere nearby to eat. We were recommended a very over priced restaurant which turned out to belong to the owner's husband. We were left without taxi to the airport and it was impossible to contact the owner , even with cellphone number. The 6th passing car stopped and kindly took us to the airport.
Close to the airport with no plane noise, somehow! Very nice and comfortable rooms with plenty of room to spread out your luggage and a great pool! The spa services also looked great although we didn't use them. I chose this hotel because of the airport shuttle but was surprised when it cost 10Euro. As close as they were I expected no charge because that is standard in U.S. I should have asked in advance since it wasn't on the English website.
Room was spacious, clean, quiet, air conditioning worked well, good shower / toilet facilities. Good shuttle service. Excellent breakfast!
A truly charming hotel in a splendid ancient harbour. Confortable and quiet (no car allowed in the area). Helpful and nice people. Ask for a visit of the terrace of the 2nd floor : you have a 60 km coast view, from Bari to Trani. I would not recommend that place to travellers looking for standard international prestations.
S Martin Hotel was stunning. The interior design has been done with much thought, empathy and class. The staff were so accommodating and really went out their way to make our stay very special. This is a fantastic hotel and one I would recommend to anyone. Bravo!!
We stayed here for 8 very enjoyable days in a junior suite with lovely views of the sea and over the rooftop gardens. The conversion from a monastery has been very well done and the surrounding narrow streets are fascinating. I understand that the hotel has had a change of management and as a result some of the older reviews are no longer valid, We were impressed with the way the hotel was run. All the receptionists were extremely efficient and friendly and knew enough English to be really helpful. The breakfast was excellent- very varied and with excellent, attentive and friendly service. The hotel was not easy to find but the management are currently working on this problem.
The S. Martin was recommended by a family member. The location of the hotel was key as we (my family from New York) was in Giovinazzo visiting family and we could walk to everything. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was very good as well and the staff very accommodating. I would recommend the hotel to travellers to Giovinazzo. Interesting property. As mentioned above, my opinion is that the front desk personnel could have been friendlier, more helpful, approachable (no smiles).
The calm, quiet, historical environment. Small town Due to small kids, large luggage was not East to get to the hotel
Beautiful place, great views -- would recommend highly A little difficult to find.
The lovely building and the atmosphere in the old town No curtains at the windows, so you can't open the shutters if you don't want to be seen from outside. No minibar, so if you're thirsty in the middle of the night you can just use the basin in the bathroom... The breakfast is very poor. On sunday, you'll be waken up at 7 a.m by the bells of the many churches nearby (they ring every 15 minuts until 9).
We chose this hotel as it is close to the airport of Bari(about 15mins drive). The hotel was in the town of Giovinazzo which is very beautiful and hotel itself was really lovely with medieval atmosphere and great view of the sea. The staff was extremely kind and catered for all our needs. Breakfast was good and Greek/grill restaurant was also good. Really recommended. The hotel is located in the pedestrian area in the old town. It was difficult to find it and the parking space, but the staff helped us to get a free public parking space nearby which was really appreciated.
Tasteful conversion. Lovely room and bathroom. Good situation in old quarter and close to harbour. The breakfast was poor and did not equate with the price or standard of the hotel.
Staff, location, and overall condition of the hotel Didnt encounter any during stay
staff was amazing and more than accomodating location on the highway was not the most convenient... although they did offer shuttle service.
The hotel itself was great, very clean, nicely furnished, little extras in the bathroom and friendly, helpful, professional staff. Comfortable bed, Sky TV, nice breakfast and good coffee. The only thing I didn't like about the hotel was it was in the middle of nowhere and an expensive taxi ride from Bari ferry port. I used the hotel shuttle service in the morning to go to the train station, but if there was a shuttle service at night that picked up guests from the port/station (which I was told when I rang there wasn't, but now I'm looking at other reviews, they say there was, must have been lost in translation when I rang), it would make it a perfect place to stay.
Nice hotel and very kind staff
Clean and accomidating. Some of the staff spoke English so that was helpful traveling from America. Offered a shuttle that took you where you needed to go for a reasonable price. Nothing really in walking distance for you to go to. A car would be needed or the shuttle service.
staff friendly and helpful an easy drive from Bari but still 15 minutes from the ring road
Staff were very nice and friendly Breakfast could have been more Eruropeanised
Good hotel, but little too far for the old city experience.
Next to the motorway. No Swimming Pool.
This hotel and its staff went out of their way to make our stay memorable. I wrote letters to the management and personal thank-yous to the staff because I was so touched at their attention and service. It may be a little off the beaten track but it is worth the effort!
Friendly, courteous, helpful staff and strict security systems Strict security systems made it seem sometimes as if there were some to fear -- double-edged sword
One of the staff speaks good English and was very helpful
Ease of access to station, old town, etc.
Staff made excellent recommendation for dining. I would have enjoyed fresh brioche and bread over the packaged breakfast items.
The hotel is very functional, close to the railway station , the staff are very helpful
The hotel was conveniently located for the railway station and hence local buses as well as the town and shopping. It has its limitations - one would have been better off going else where for b'fast.
location shower room
The hotel staff and the location of the hotel. The lack of facilities.
Should be a 2-star, instead of a 3-star. I cannot understand how such a hotel was given a 3-star rating. The cost was much too high for this hotel. The old elevator, the cost, and the lack of amenities. Rooms were small, mattresses were old, restroom lacked privacy due to sliding doors that did not work properly.
A very pleasant hotel. The location is excellent, a stone's throw from the train station and the room was perfectly acceptable. This is a very nice hotel but given that the prices are quite high I would have expected it to be slightly more modern. There is no internet connection. Hotel prices in Bari tend to be high across the board so it's probably fairly typical.
Accessibility to Bari Palese Airport - just a short 10-15 minute drive. The airport provided a transfer service for only 5 Euros each way. Hotel staff friendly, hotel clean and seemed very popular.
We liked the friendliness of all the hotel staff. Nothing.
Obligatory club card that hasn't been mentioned (+6 euros per person). Even If I chose this hotel for the location-near the airport-combined with a good price there wasn't any transportation except the shuttle bus which has charged us 5 euros per person.
The location was ok, they obviously have beach facilities in the summer (which they charge extra for) but were not available in September when we were there. It looked lifeless and they could have included some activity. It is a large set up but limited facilities available. Internet did not work. Laundry service was very expensive. The staff were very ignorant and reallu avoided assisting us however we were persistent and still had to stand waiting at reception each time we had a question. Each staff member was trying to avoid serving non Italian speaking guests, it was very obvious. When in tourism a grasp of many launguages is necessary especiallyparticularly English as it is spoken in many countries.
location, breakfast extra charge for using the hotel beach in the summer...6 euros per day...
The hotel in genearal was acceptable. The cost of our evening meal, which had to be taken in the hotel as there are no places to eat locally at 21.30, was way too high. Two courses and no wine €56.00
Very comfortable. Location good. Airport collection/delivery service very handy. Catering management by Basil Fawlty. Absolutely chaotic.
Very pleasant staff. Small but friendly bar. Good breakfast. We were eaten alive round the pool so moved to the sea front where all the chairs had been removed (challenge of being at the end of the season) Found the evening set meal disappointing.
nice beach nothing
Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing Nothing The awful menu (nothing to eat except seafood), poor accomodation (WC - old and bidet not working), bad location (far from city)
Rooms are perfect:cosy stylish and clean. You feel yourself like home!Breakfast was good enough. The hotel is close to the station(15 min by feet) and not very far from the old city. A lot of noise from the street, so you can't leave the window opened. There is no staff during all the day, so if you have some questions, nobody can help you. Moreover, you can't leave your lugagge in the hotel if you have late flight!!!For me it was very inconvenient.I would recomend to be more attentive and careful with the clints.
Great facilities, lovely bed, bathroom, air con just all round high quality. The breakfast was incredibly good! And the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Really worth every penny. Situation. Extremely busy road not for the faint of heart - if you miss the turning for it it's a nightmare to get back too!
there was silence, exept the big street but you just keep the window closed and its ok. /
Considering it was a Best Western we were pleasantly surprised of the upkeep of the facility. However, your customer service representative indicated that the hotel was close to the port--this was not the case. It cost my family over 40E in cab fair for a 20 minute drive to get from the hotel to the port! The hotel was selected based on your recommendation.
Although we arrived very late, due to airline problems, we received the warmest of welcomes from the night porter, who also went out of his way to make us some sandwiches and a drink. It was a very pleasant end to an awful day. Surrounding district - very industrial
Very close to the Airport and easy to find
Excellent service from the staff. Quiet environment. No.
very clean rooms , good housekeeping , restaurant very good price for wifi internet in lobby very high
We're travelling by car and stayed in the hotel with two children. The room was spacious and modern. The bathroom was spacious as well. Free car-parking. A swimming pool. Breakfast would be better.
Well presented and nicely designed facility internally. In the middle of nowhere about 5km from Bari centre with no public transport links. Only accessible by very expensive local taxis and even more expensive hotel shuttle car. Hotel refuses to book local taxis only their car. 40 Euros for 4 people for a 20 minute journey when local taxi charged 25 (32 at night). An alledged 'flood' meant many guests were transferred to another hotel 8km from Bari, past the airport and no compensation for additional transport costs. Was a fight with reception for travelling group to remain in the same building. Despite the 'flood' a room was found but many others not so lucky.
size, quiet and cleaning of the room
breakfast and kindness of the staff wall paper old fashion....
Comfortable bed and pillows, nice shower with plenty of hot water. Insufficient access to electrical outlets.
Close to the historic city center. Nice, clean, real 4* hotel. no parking around the hotel (not even for motorbikes).
Very nice Hotel just next to the old town and the promenade. It's an old style, elegant hotel, although not new, so the furniture and the building. It is far from luxurious, but still very nice. The breakfast is nice, I loved their bruschetta! I prefer the rooms looking on the street, instead of the coutryard where the air conditioning stuff is, although the first room we got looked a little bit better, than the one that looking on the street. You must try panino (bread) packed with ham (or mortadella) and grana or mozzarella cheese, that you get in almost all, even small supermarkets. Very nice to grab one while walking in the old town! The bus from the Airport (Tempesta) stops just 2-300m from the hotel (4.15€/person one way). At the breakfast you get only two kind of meat (mortadella and ham), and there is no prosciutto crudo (raw ham) and grana (hard cheese), two absolute must-haves in Italy. At some restaurants they charge you 1-3€ service fee per person.
The hotel is close to the Historic old town and the Cruise Liners terminal and is within walking distance from the main shopping centre. The Hotel personnel was very helpful. The price is a bit on the high side in certain periods.
Good location and good sized rooms
The hotel was at the center of the city and within walking distance from all the main attractions (old city, seafront) and shopping area. My room was large and very clean. The breakfast was good as well. If you are travelling by car you can book a parking space at the hotel. You need to pay extra but it is worth it since finding a free space in Bari is very difficult !
The hotel room was comfortable and clean. It is very difficult to find, as all the locals know it by a different name. It is called "The Palace" with the locals. It is in between the port and the train station, so it takes a bit of a walk to reach it to/from either location (if you know where you're going).
This was a very lovely hotel!! Very comfortable bed and pillows and the bathroon and main room were very roomy and beautiful. The desk people were extremely friendly and helpful too!! The breakfast room was lovely as well and the food was wonderful.
Convenient location for old city and train station. Good breakfast Very helpful staff
Breakfast was geat!!
The staff, location, facilities were good and the price None
The bed was comfortable The decor was "tired", but, in fairness to the hotel, some refurbishment appeared to be taking place.
breakfast was good room was very small for the price we could not leave the window open at night as the room was on the first floor and a service roof was outside the window we booked for a double room and given a twin. when asked to changed we were moved to a smoking room again not our preference. The girl at the reception was farily grudging about all this but all other staff were very friendly
Clean, efficient, room was recently renovated and in great condition. Breakfast buffet was ample (by Italian standard). I really liked it. I didn't mind, but I imagine some people might mind being on a busy street. I was on the nineth floor and had a very quiet room.
nothing its very bad & old hotel Bad roms with Bad beds ( very small 80 cm ) & no nun smook rooms ( very bad smill ) & no Parking for car ( we pay 30 Euro per night to Parking our car )
Rather an austere room, but it was quiet, everything functioned, and I was given the bathtub I requested.
The staff is very friendly and helpfull, f.i. we could change our room to matrimonial. Clean rooms, good location in the centre of Bari. The walls are very thin, we heared our neighbours too much. It is not so cheap, but every hotel at Bari is.
Very friendly and helpful staff, appropriate environment, good value for the price, good location and accessability, close to the historical centre It's under reconstruction right now. It does not really effect the quality, no noise or dust or any other discomfort, but soon it will be even better than it already is.
Convenience and courtesy.
The room was very clean and tidy. The location was convenient, only a couple of blocks away from the central train station of Bari and not more than 20 minutes by feet away from the port The bizzare electrological circuit. You had to turn on some switchers in order to give power to the sockets. I never managed to make one of the sockets work.
all the best, clean, comfort,breakfast-very good.personal-good.i was lucky to be here.the very good hotel i like all.
