Very good alternative for expensive hotels in Esbjerg (and around). Location is still quite good, despite the distance from the center and easy to find. It is next to a big swimming paradise, which is recommended for people with children. The amount I had to pay was subtracted from my credit card immediately, this was written in the agreement, but I did not notice. On the day of check out they told me the whole amount already was subtracted from my card. I didn't like that, because who says I wanted to pay with credit card ? We still had a lot of Danish crowns left and since it was the last day in Denmark, we could not spent them anymore. I also did not like the early check-out time of 9:30, after breakfast you have to hurry to pack everything.
Very nice hostel. The staff was friendly and new part of the builduing was new, clean and cosy.
The Hostel was VERY clean and a great mix or traditional and modern design. The rooms were spacious and communal areas inviting with a very good kitchen for self catering. The buffet breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The staff were friendly and the surroundings were lovely. We would stay here again if we visit Denmark for another holiday.
Hotel completely empty on arrival. No staff in sight. No bathrooms items present hand soap, shampoo etc.).
Hospitallity, and late arrival options to enter the hotel. These were found good and safe. Surprising was the location of breakfast with all faqcilities. None
Can't think of one good thing really, apart from the staff on reception when I checked out who did explain things about the hotel and why facilties are poor. They did manage to get me a bucket of ice to chill some drinks. No restaurant, no bar, no facilities at all. Breakfast was served at a sports centre 10 minute walk away. Room allocated on arrival was not cleaned from last occupant, second room allocated room was not cleaned after my first night. As there was no restaurant only food available was form Lidl or a take away pizza in the town. Apparently there are no restaurants in Vejen. To have a hotel without this facility is inexcusable especially when you see the web site.
Difficult to get anything to drink/eat (assortment like in a minbar)
The hotel was clean and you could help yourself to coffee. Breakfast was served at another location, within the Sports complex, a brief walk away, but there is a restaurant in the hotel that wasn't open the weekend I was there. Unlucky for me!
Staff at the reception very helpful and it is very good value for money. The bunk beds were a bit dusty but we put the newly hired sheets and eventually solved the problem.
Cheap. Many kinds of sports facilities. Good kitchen facilities. Free car parking. The toilet and shower room smells slightly.
