Hotel was ok
Maid trying to clean the room at 830 on a Sunday morning. The day before the room was never made up at all
Priceline customers get low end rooms? Room too noisy & uncomfortably cold (regardless of thermostat). 1st key did not work & replacement had problems. Front desk did not always answer phone. High price for modest conditions & they charge for breakfast.
The hotel with the hot tub and pool without an extra charge was a bonus.
The noise level outside the room from a party across the hall was distrubing.
I am extremely unhappy with Priceline. The hotel had a discount rate for ESS technology and when I called priceline the rep said the only way he could help me with that rate was to send him a link to the hotel that indicated the discount. After I contacted the hotel they do not list special rates for companies. I mentioned this to your rep he said he could not help me. The special rate wasxxx per night.
Great value for the price
The only problem was we were right next to the elevators lots of noise coming and going.
My cousin and I visited Virginia Tech in June 2008. At that time, the Courtyard Marriott was only 8 months old. The facility is beautiful, spacious and clean, the beds were very comfortable, the pool and hot tub delightful after a day of sightseeing, and there were hot chocolate chip cookies at the check in desk! There is no continenal breakfast, but a breakfast buffet with numerous choices that was well worth the price. This is a no smoking motel, so that was pleasant, as there were no lingering smoke odors in the room, which sported rich cherry furniture, microwave and fridge. There was even an extra telephone in the bathroom! I would definitely stay there again, and recommend this establishment highly to anyone visiting Blacksburg and Virginia Tech.
