This is a lovely hotel in a stunning location. The rooms were comfortable, clean and quiet, the staff were really helpful and friendly and the buffet breakfats were very tasty. We would stay again.
The standard overall was excellent having recently changed ownership. The staff went out of the way to make us very welcome. The food on halfboard basis was of a very high standard. Cleanliness was excellent English was spoken.Good indoor swimming pool. Position of hotel, standing on the alp, requires own transport. Plenty of free parking Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Will certainly return again.
there was a wedding reception one of the evenings and the noise went much past the hotels designated quiet time of 10pm -- til almost 1 am, I was exhausted the next morning and felt like it cut into my trip and relaxation time
This hotel is a wonderful find. I really enjoyed my stay here. I ate there for the four nights I was there in July, and each night they had something different going on for dinner. One night an outside dinner, another night a buffet and another night a BBQ on the patio. Staff for the most part are excellent. Front Reception and bar staff were very friendly and professional as were most of the wait staff. Site is wonderful with views of the mountains from the rooms and wildlife in the area. Very good value for money. I would recommend if you book this hotel to book half board, as the food is really very, very good. If you don't book half board you can be asked to move tables as they are reserved for the half board partons (they have the same table for every meal). I was asked to move a few times, and wish they would place reserved signs on the half board tables, or get rid of this procedure all together, but until they do this be sure to book the half board to avoid being asked to move constantly. If you don't book half board, well, at least you'll know why you're being asked to move.
Very friendly and accomodating staff, good food and beautiful authentic German style building/decor. Indoor pool is good. There's an industrial factory in town near hotel.
Location is excellent. Breakfast and restaurant food is very good. Parking worked well. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bathroom is small and properly cleaned. Wifi only works on the ground floor.
The hotel was nicely positioned for the Oberstdorf valley with nice countryside around it too. The food was also good but overall a little on the expensive side needing some decoration in places.
The hotel is placed in a nice setting: beautiful mountain scenery (if you have a room on the southside....) Prior to arrival I called the hotel and got confirmation about the booked room: "Confort plus room" with parquet floor on the quiet side of the hotel (some parts of the hotel have ongoing renovation works). However, when I arrived I got a room with carpet on the floor instead. My dust allergy made me refuse this room. They offered another room with (a dusty) parquet floor which was much smaller and still not the category that I booked. Next morning at 8am I was woken up by loud noise from construction work outside at the opposite part of the hotel. When I checked out and said to the manager helping me that the price had to be corrected according to the room I actually got, he said (in german, thinking I wouldn't understand) to his assstant, "I don't have time for this" and had her handle it. Impolite behaviour!!! The price was reduced with 10 euros...... Compared to the quality of other similar hotels in the region this hotel is too expensive
Decoration is nice, breakfast is good, room is very comfortable and clean.
All, except - see bellow. I haven't got the Invoice for my stay in the Hotel.
It was a beautiful location, access to many ski area's, and tickets could be bought right at the hotel. There was so much different entertainment that kept us busy, i booked online by google and was extremely impressed. Hotel staff were very kind.
Beautiful views, nice rooms and very good food. Friendly people and owner spoke very good english. I was woken by the train in the valley in the night on a few occasions. A building site was nearby and also made noise early but as we went out during the day did not affect us too much.
Warm, friendly atmosphere reflecting the ambiance of the Allgau region. Delicious food in the hotel restaurant in a cozy, detailed setting. You could tell this family run hotel takes pride in their business. We were an American military family of a Grandmother, Teenager, and a Daughter with 8 week old twins, and our accommodation suited us perfectly with plenty of room for all. I liked the early check-in times and late check-out. Hallway/stairwell lights are on a timer that does not quite stay on long enough. Parking spaces are a challenge if you have a minivan.
The room was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. It far exceeded our expectations! The on-site restaurant served an excellent dinner, as well.
The location was beautiful although the noise of the road and railway did travel up the valley more than expected, however the hotel's double glazing was up to the task. We stayed during the handover period between the old and new owners and received a warm welcome from both. The food was excellent. The hotel was a bit old fashioned but the new owner has plans to develop the hotel so this might change.
I had a romantic view from my bedroom, the mountains covered by snow are very beautiful, the hotel stays in a high point of the city, very confortable, the breakfeast is very good. I had a pleasent stay, very nice !!
A family and informal hotel. Room clean and well-equipped, very traditional ('old-fashioned). I stayed in hotels like this fifty years ago. Breakfast room with large flat-screen TV for watching World Cup matches. Three generations of the family very obliging. We were given a south-facing room, though this had little advantage because of the weather. Heating put on as soon as we arrived and the room was warm. Good breakfast, evening meal just average, but fair for the price. I believe the hotel is up for sale. The gardens were not well-kept and the balcony window-boxes devoid of flowers. The terrace (could not sit out there as it was wet) must have had a superb view, but looked a little decrepit.
This is a family run hotel, and they are very friendly. Good value for money!
The view from the balcony was breath taking absolutely beautiful. The hotel is situated on a hillside and access to it can be difficult if the weather is bad. If you had to carry all your luggage from the bottom of the hill this could be quiet a hike and not pleasent.
Wonderful location, close to the town centre but with wonderful views. Very comfortable and clean. Furniture could have done with being modernised
