Excellent location in the the Cotswolds. Clean, tidy rooms with white sheets on lofty down comforter. Bathrooms were clean and modern. Breakfast was excellent. Dinner in the the restaurant was fantastic...very gourmet and excellent value. Service was impeccable. Very friendly staff. Welcoming and accommodating. Took the time to orient us to the region and even gave us a hand-drawn map. Excellent value for money. Our room in the front of the building (on the Square) did get some noise from the street. Not bad but if you're sensitive, you might request a garden-facing room. Also, the room was a bit dark and closet had no light.
Very individual ,great furnishing without being too busy it was lovely and clean with plenty of room
In the heart of the Cotswolds. An old hotel which has been sympathetically refurbished. Excellent food-good value.
Room was great, and very clean. Food good, would stay again.. More lighting needed in car park
Roomy and reasonably quiet. Room was rather warm at night. Parking was a minor problem.
The staff were lovely, welcoming and professional.
Good food and a pleasant atmosphere. Poor mattress, lumpy due to springs.
Very comfortable and beautifully decorated rooms. Staff were friendly and thoughtful and the breakfasts were great. Nothing. Very impressed with everything regarding the hotel.
Apart from the amazing food & great ambience in restaurant I loved the attention to detail of the furnishings- the lighting and tasteful decor was just perfect. We stayed in a downstairs cottage room which was lovely but noisy from the upstairs room. Also there was just a small sort of communal area outside of the bar where you could sit (I think) but it wasn't too inviting or at least no one was sitting there....
The food was excellent and staff very professional Lack of attention in restaurant throughout evening meal Room only had hand held shower
The staff were very helpful and pleasant and the food was excellent.
The village was nice and we would go back to the village again but at another hotel. Room dirty on arrival, had to ask reception to clean the cobwebs from across & around the ceiling. Curtains & pole also very dusty. Very difficult sitting on the toilet (no room). The haridryer did not reach and also kept cutting out (depending on how the wire was positioned). A Superior room! All breakfast poor and minimal. Fresh fruit was brown on arrival day yet not changed at all. There is mor
It is in a good location for visiting Stow and the surrounding Cotswold villages. Although small, the bed was comfy. The front desk staff were extremely rude. When we arrived we were completely ignored as we stood at the reception desk whilst the gentleman carried on working on his computer. When I said 'excuse me' I was greeted with an impatient 'just a minute' and he then turned back & carried on! The room was tiny and dirty in places. There was no soap in the bathroom (if you can call it a bathroom - more a cupboard with a shower in it). Definitely a case of a hotel believing its own hype rather than looking after its customers. So disappointed.
Serving breakfast until 10.00am Didn't check the lightbulbs in the room or exterior
Very central position in Stowe and the breakfasts were very good Lack of parking facilities
Friendly staff, good food, nice ambience. bathroom very small and cramped!
Clean and comfortable Lack of communal bar space
Room not a king size as booked, Bathrooms primitive No shower, (shower head on tap in the bath). TV from the 60's,Noisy
Good restaurant food Our attic bedroom was far too hot. Unable to get advertised restaurant discount because we booked room online!!!!
going out all day!! rooms above pub very noisy pity not informed where your room is when booking as you are not actually in hotel! one receptionist very rude
The location was great,on the main street. The innkeepers,Karen and Paul were friendly, helpful, welcoming, even leaving cookies for us in our lovely room!Being able to select what we wanted for breakfast the night before was plus.A fine start for our trip. Having to enter with our luggage through the customer-filled tearoom was a little unwieldy.Parking is also a little difficult.
