9.5 Excellent
Pros: I could hear the sound of the beach. It wasn't too far to walk to the beach. Tides came in fast.
Cons: From the website, the location appeared to be next to the beach. Rather, there was a row of houses and a road blocking a view of the beach.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Been here before and will continue to when possible, everything was perfect!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A quiet green oasis a few steps to the beach. Nice and cozy spacious room, very good wifi. Good breakfast. Cold beer and soda from the fridge for 1 $
Cons: It's a bit outside, a 20 min walk at the beach to next restaurants. By not not nice to walk at the beach. Need to have a car.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was really great. The host was just lovely and he had so many good recommendations for us! The property is really beautiful and the rooms even nicer than in the pictures! Unfortunately we could only stay for one night, but if we come back, we'll stay there longer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The experience in Togo B&B was outstanding overall. We arrived at the place and were welcomed very friendly by the host Gordon. He is very nice, relaxed and friendly. Besides Spanish he is also English-speaking. We had great conversation with him. The next thing to mention is the beautiful garden which is very well taken care of (we were eating mangos out of it). The rooms and all other parts of the house are excelently decorated with much thought for details. Gordon is an artist and his beautiful paintings enrich the interior design greatly. The Togo is not beachfront but 50 m away from the sea easily reachable by foot. Umbrellas and beach towels are available free of charge. The beach is simply fantastic and good for swimming. Breakfast was also very nice with fresh fruit, juice, eggs and so on. I would give this B&B 11/10 if I could.
Cons: The Royal decameron hotel has one hour in the evening with music in the distance that slightly interrupts the absolute peace and quiet you have at all other times.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room in a beautiful house with a great owner. We enjoyed our night there a lot. Breakfast was great.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, good breakfast, close to beach
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, breakfast is delicious... and Antonio is an amazing host.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: - its relatively close to a few restaurants by the beach. About a 5-10min walk on the beach to get to them. - the owners are super friendly and helpful. One of those nights, Don Toño picked up a pizza for me.on his way back from the town. He's the best. - Breakfast included fresh fruit, coffee, and orange juice. - it's super close to the beach. There is access through a private alley that is almost in front of the property.
Cons: - Breakfast didn't include any meat which I thought it was a bummer. - It would be perfect if it had a pool! - the hammocks were a bit too loud. Maybe they hooks need some lubricant?

Cons: The breakfast could be better. Now is 4 stars standard. More fresh ideas for assortment and a form of the buffet is needed.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room, comfortable bed Wonderful breakfast/ choice of restaurants Beauty of the setting: hotel/ swimming pools/ gardens Tennis court Day tour to Anton Valle Organization is perfect (Transport from/ to the airport/ day tour…) Staff is extremely nice . Special thanks to Daniel and Luis.

Pros: The pool near the hotel
Cons: Breakfast was not my favorite, but it was ok. The tub in the bathroom was broken, but the shower was good.
6.8 Good
Pros: Surroundings and pools are beautiful.
Cons: The 2x double bed room, has very short (and small) double beds... They are like 1.70m long... my feet sticked out with me being 1.80m in length.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The food and atmosphere was amazing.
Cons: The temporary closure of water usage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast is great. Location is the best ever. for this type of hotels
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great Room, great Pools, Nice concierge, Beautiful set up, I really like thew views.
Cons: Food needs to be reconsider. There are 3 star hotels with much better food. Simple things, Not fresh fruits on breakfast or in the Gym, Not fresh cut meats in the Asao Pescao restaurant, Poor side dishes. Prices are elevated, so If people is willing to pay an elevated price for food, you need to offer High quality food. My recommendation, Set Food Supervisors for every place you serve the food. And you will see where things are wrong. Bungaloos are worn out and need immediate change or maintenance. Yo have such a great place...Do not fall in under maintenance.

Cons: Out off season not much to eat around and there is nothing apart from breakfast in the offer so be prepared. Long way to playa and mountain so for us it was more like a stopover. But still many attractions offered by owners when you stay longer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are very friendly and helpful. On both days of our stay, they were able to recommend hikes that were off the beaten path and away from the hordes of Easter weekend tourists. 8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was large, well set out with good storage space. The surrounding gardens were well kept and there was a small pool. Beach blankets and umbrellas were available to borrow. The nearby beach (1.5km) was the best we saw in Panama. It had three beach restaurants with parking ($4). The restaurant XOKO on the main road was very good.
Cons: Breakfast was excellent but at $10 expensive on already rather expensive accommodation.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet and cozy, it's the perfect place for people who look for tranquility and privacy. The owners do their best to put you at ease. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here.
Cons: What a pity that this great place is not directly on a beach! The beach is 800 meters away, not much actually, however this is my only regret.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic host in a beautiful setup !
Cons: Santa Clara beach is a bit polluted by tourism. The authorities and the tourists needs to look after it better ! The surroundings are short in restaurants but we found an amazing one next door !

Pros: Location, staff, comfort!
Cons: New room was under construction. Caused some extra noise.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff and beach
Cons: The distance from property and the tour location.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly.
Cons: The fact that there was no tv in the room and that the beach had to be accessed thru a gate away from the building. For the price of the room (100 dollars) at least a small tv should be included.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Maria was wonderful. She made breakfast and gave us advice on activities and restaurants. We also loved the beach. It was a short walk down a gated path, but the beach was not crowded, the sea shells were numerous, the water warm, and the weather was sunny.
Cons: We did not like the shared bathroom and cold showers. We also did not like the hotel dance party every night. However they always stopped playing loud music at 11PM.
8.0 Excellent

Cons: I had loud music and entertainment coming from the neighbour hotel in the night in my room. Would ask for a room to the garden side

Taca Tucan Hostel - Río Hato - Bedroom
7
9.1 Excellent (106 reviews)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff is really nice and friendly. The all place look really nice and clean. Breakfast is included in the price and it is perfect!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Trixie was very welcoming and made us comfortable. The hostel had everything we needed.
Cons: We clearly made a reservation for one room and booking.com repeatedly sent me confirmations indicating this. But booking.com told the hostel it was for two. Trixie gave us the option of taking one or two. Since we have young children we took one as we had originally requested. Booking.com then wanted to know why I had “cancelled” the second room! I told them we hadn’t cancelled a second room because we never ordered one. But even though it was booking.com’s fault they charged Trixie a booking fee for two rooms anyway. This was totally unfair to Trixie. Please adjust the fee you charged her to reflect the one room we booked in the first place, a booking you confirmed!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The distance to a beautiful beach really sold the place, Trixi was lovely. Rooms were clean nice showers. Oh there’s a store close and the pizza joint was top notch. WiFi worked well, easy to catch a bus. AC was amazing
Cons: The beds were not super comfy
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly and helpful host. The room and bathroom were clean. Room had A/C and mosquito netting. Hammocks and community table are in the garden. Community kitchen was clean. Breakfast consisted of toast and jam/peanut butter, beverages, fruits. There are dogs and a cute little cat living in the hostel as well so it never gets boring. Beach, bus stop, supermarket and laundry shop is close by. Pizza from the neighbours is yummy. After booking we received directions on how to get to the hostel. This was very helpful.
Cons: Nothing to moan about.
10.0 Excellent

9.3 Excellent
Pros: THE LOCATION IS WHAT MAKES THIS PLACE AWESOME! JUST A FEW STEPS FROM AN AWESOME, BLACK-SAND BEACH.
Cons: Excellent place, for what it is... a hostel with a couple of private rooms. As long as one knows what s/he is paying for, this place is great. THE LOCATION IS WHAT MAKES THIS PLACE AWESOME! JUST A FEW STEPS FROM AN AWESOME, BLACK-SAND BEACH. THE NEGATIVES - 1. The one indoor toilet and sink (two full baths outside of building) desperately need maintenance, but as long as there is no crowd, all is usable. 2. The kitchen is sparse and minimally usable. No stove, no dish towels. Don't expect to actually cook, but again... No worries if you plan. An excellent, inexpensive restaurant is less than 100 meters away.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice hostel next to the beach. The AC in our room worked well and the nights were quiet. When checking out, someone gave us a ride to to bus stop - much appreciated!
Cons: Remote location, not a whole lot of food options around and bus stop and village are a bit of a trek away. The beach is quiet, but small and unspectacular. No stove, but an electric skillet.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location! Right on the beach. Small shop on site with yummy icecream! Lovely staff, very welcoming and chatty. Surf rental there too. Beds were comfortable.
Cons: Not enough spaces to sit inside and outside. Outside ones are uncomfortable, just on planks of wood. Showers were cold which wasn't a massive deal for me cos I only stayed 2 nights. Tight space if you're on the bottom bunk, you'll hit your head plenty of times moving around! Possibly a bit pricey for what you get, compared to other places in Panama
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff: all the stars together! Location: it is just amazing, the place hace magic on its own. It is surfers paradise! Super clean! Will come back soon!

7.5 Good
Pros: - Clean, simple place - Super close to the beach - Very relaxed staff & atmosphere
Cons: - Dorm could use new matrasses - Too bad you couldnt rent boards for a couple of days in a row but always had to turn them in at the end of the day which made early morning surfing a little difficult...
9.5 Excellent

Cons: There were not options of food to buy in the Hostal

8.0 Excellent
Pros: That resort is beach front and it's all inclusive
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Other than the below two items there was really noting to complain about!
Cons: Because all of the room's interior (as well as the exterior) is white, all of the not so cleaned spots are easily visible- especially in the bathrooms.... So more attention should be paid to these areas of a room. Pool with Pool Bar - well, water is pretty dirty a after the day and not really inviting. Filtration should be way longer and at a much higher rate. Advise from pool owner to pool owner ;-)

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice staff, big breakfast, location practically on the beach.
Cons: A bit old room furniture, but still OK value for money.
4.5 Okay
Pros: After we saw the first room, the manager moved us to another part of the building (for an extra $20 and $5 kitchen fee). The A/C worked. Mattresses were relatively comfortable. No massive party music in the area at night.
Cons: The initial room we booked was an unpainted cubicle packed with a full bed and a bunk bed. The mold on the wall would have been inches away from my nose had we been sleeping there that night. Fortunately, the manager moved us to another room in another building for an extra $20 cash plus an extra $5 kitchen fee. It was a community kitchen and nobody stole the stuff we put in the refrigerator. The cooking utensils were nearly useless and we never found any silverware. Fortunately, we had some backup plastic spoons. The room itself was 5 beds that occupied the entire floor. There were no cover sheets or blankets but we brought our own blankets. The bathroom had no hot water and they don't plan on having any hot water. 4 out of 6 light bulbs in the room and bathroom were out. The breakfast was awkward. We showed up first before two other couples. They were served first and the staff (only 8-10 feet away) simply ignored us and started cleaning up the kitchen before we inquired again about getting anything. We were foreigners, as were everyone else. We spoke Spanish and (we thought) are always polite when dealing with anyone. Yet, we got treated like dirt. They smiled at us, but we couldn't wait to get out of there.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hostel is situated at 30m of the beach. The people are very friendly, the wifi good. The hotel has showers in the patio to wash away the sand at your feet before entering. They allowed us to put water-beer in the freezer. Breakfast was good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The staff is very friendly and helpful, it's 50 meters from the beach and really good value with the breakfast included.
Cons: The internet doesn't always work that well on the first floor, but it's not a deal breaker

6.8 Good
Pros: I like the location of the resort and the breakfast ot was nice
Cons: I didn’t like only one pool available for regular costumer , two pools were close and another teo only for “All Inclusive Plus”
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Relaxing and lots to do.
Cons: The food is typical Panamanian - bland. The hamburgers are like hockey pucks, but all beef in Panama is tough.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: There is never towels available, I asked so many times and they keept saying they ran out someone will bring more but that never happens. The food is not that good at all. Snacks ia just hamburgers and chips. Bathrooms are dirty The people go to the restaurant area un swimming bath and it is a mess. The people also drink in the swimming pool and spilled drinks in the swimming pool it is a mess at the swimming pool. Drinks are served in regular small plastic cup and limited choice. Overall I would not recommend to a friend or family. Thanks.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, energetic staff, quality and diversity of food, overall ambiance
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Breakfast was ok. What I like about this trip was the time I had with my family, honestly the hotel was very bad
Cons: Very old facility. No elevators in the buildings ( I don’t mind 2-4 flights of stairs but not with the luggage). Old and uncomfortable bathrooms in the room. The key of the room was an actual key that you have to protect with your life because a replacement was 50$. Pools were crowded with people, old and not well maintained. There was a protocol to use the water slides and you have to take them up to the top to be able to use it. Bathrooms at the pool were extremely dirty!! Not to mention old and very small. And also there are actual vans and cars driving inside of the resort, like in a regular street, all the for the cars was the
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The shuttles.
Cons: No wash clothes in the room, replacement of towels in the rooms, outdated furniture and room looked old, shower floor looked dirty and one of my relatives had bed bugs in the room. Also food in open area where flies were constant. Wi-Fi service only in reception areas, must pay if you want it in your room. Phone also did not have typical listing of service ( i.e. front desk, concierge, etc)
4.5 Okay
Pros: The food was decent in the buffets. I ate well, but get there early as stuff will get picked over and they aren't quick to replace food that's run out or clean up the buffet areas. The beach this property is located on is excellent and beautiful. White sand and basically private to resort guests. They have plenty of chairs and umbrellas.
Cons: The staff doesn't speak English. The rooms need updating BADLY. It's basically like they don't care at all. I mean, I stayed here in 2008 and it wasn't great then, but it was a bit better. They need to train their staff in hospitality and pay them a decent wage because their check in process is a HOT MESS. It took so long (well over an hour) for our group to be processed. Internet that was paid for did not work. You have to pay for it if you want it anywhere on the property but the lobby area is free. Most of our group ended up having to get it refunded. Also, the rooms had serious issues. Our toilet was broken. They don't give you enough towels (like we had one towel in there lol! for a room booked for 3 people) and it took forever to get more. Nobody speaks English, btw so thank goodness we are bilingual. We checked in way after 3pm. Electricity was out pretty much all day the one full day we were there, they cut it of from like 830am to 2pm. It was just rough. They charge a la carte prices for EVERYTHING. Not really "all-inclusive". People pay money to stay there and they don't do anything to make up for what they inconvenience you for. It's a lousy resort. Stay elsewhere!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Food, swimming pool, slides, the ambience, music, and service.
Cons: There were shortage of towels. How is this possible In a Resort? We stayed two nights, three days.. We were begging for towels, literally.
6.3 Good
Pros: The room was nice and clean. The area felt safe.
Cons: The food was all the same. Even though they say that there is variety, it's pretty much the same. Although the staff was courteous, they don't seem happy to be working there (bar, bellhops, restaurant etc). Part of people's job in tourism is to project "fun" and make sure people are having a fabulous time. Not so much. The water sport area did not have enough equipment and seemed inconvenienced when we wanted to use equipment. Although THE SCHEDULE of activities is on the TV, staff is not trained to look at it every day and encourage people to participate. The only people who got friendly were people wanting to SELL us more Decameron Activities. The transport to the airport was extremely long (2.5 hours from Panama City). Our flight left at 1:43pm in the morning and they wanted us to leave at 7am.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Beach and pool was nice
Cons: Some buildings are old and some rooms are old. Toilet wouldn’t flush.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good bed, A/C, little people around
Cons: N/A
5.0 Okay
Pros: Staff
Cons: Room was rented by owner. We had to call the owner for everything, and even then we did not get access to a lot of stuff. Room did not have enough towels. The room was not comfortable for 5 adults. Pool does not supple towels. No sports equipment available. It's a walk through mosquito infested dirty sidewalk to the beach. Beach was dirty.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfy bed, room with lots of light and a great view
Cons: Needs some more kitchen supplies like a sauce pan, serving bowls, cutting board
5.8 Okay
Pros: Suite was clean and in good condition.
Cons: We were not told in advance that the saltwater pool was under maintenance, this was the main reason we wanted to stay here! Mr. Kamal should have warned us, also it would help to put some newer updated kitchen supplies in the kitchen, such as pans and glasses!

Pros: Very friendly and hospitable Italian family. Nice garden where nice breakfast (toast, fresh fruit, egg) was served. Access to the beach through other facility but very close and convenient. Nice part of Farallon (you got to see some village life)
Cons: Room was very basic (but good value for money and clean)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location was really close to the beach, A/C worked like a charm, huge bathroom and service. Also it was a nice extra a bathroom and shower outside the room.
Cons: The check out could be a bit later than noon, maybe at 2:00pm so you can take more advantage of the beach.

7.0 Good
Pros: Beautiful location and beach.
Cons: I’m not sure quite where to start.. The location and grounds are beautiful. I had read previous reviews that the facility was a bit dated and could use some attention. Even knowing this we decided to stay because the price was very reasonable. As the previous reviews stated this was the case of the facility needing some attention to bring it back to it’s former beauty.. My biggest issue was when we arrived and went to our room and that it over looked the parking lot. We payed for a garden view not a parking lot view. My fiancé wanted to see if we could possibly get another room as there seemed to be no one there as it was Thursday. Upon asking for a upgrade they said it would be an additional $30 per night for the upgrade and i let them know that i was a bonvoy member and could that help. After she spoke to another lady behind the desk the acknowledged that i was a member but didn’t have anything available at this time that the rooms were booked but only 10 minutes before i could pay $30 more and get a room?? After asking for a few minutes i gave in and offered to pay the extra money and guess what, a room became available. We had barely checked in and already a bad taste.. We got settled in and again the place is beautiful and i was pleased with the food. Only some things i will mention to bring to your Attention for future guests. To be advertised as a 4 star resort. 1. No iron or ironing board in the room. They brought us an iron only no board. 2.The curtains in the room are extremely dirty and old looking that had skeleton shedding of small lizards possibly.. 3. No Towles left in our room after it had been cleaned. 4. No coffee for the Coffee pot. We called to have some brought up and after 30 minutes of waiting we decided to go to breakfast.
5.1 Okay
Pros: Fair price
Cons: Its old and little Boring there is not mich things fondo
6.3 Good
Pros: The pool is perfect for families. They do have pool activities and contests for guests. The rooms were clean and AC worked great. You could even leave balcony door open for a breeze. The poolside bar had decent tasting drinks.
Cons: No beach activities included. I have stayed at an all inclusive similarly priced with included/no extra cost: snorkeling, kayaking, paddleboarding, etc. The food at the buffet was not a very good spread and very plain tasting. Servers ignored our table, yet we saw them bringing drinks to tables nearby.
6.8 Good
Pros: Nice place, nice pools and there was not a lot of guest. Quiet place with lots of Canadian.
Cons: The pool was dirty even if there is a pool guy to clean it. Not sure they empty it regularly to get clean water in it. Toilets are however close. The Barman was not friendly refusing to make cocktails when close to the end of his day .. The access to the sea is under surveillance and highly controlled. Meaning that we could not swim therein even when it seemed quiet enough to get there.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, strong drinks, tasty food
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Overall the facility was welcoming. We enjoyed the pancakes. Staff was friendly, always willing to help. The 9 hole golf course was a great bonus as well! Very well kept greens.
Cons: Some of the other guests. Very pushy and rude at times. But nothing you can do about that. The "snacks" available by the pool could use some sort of healthier options. Otherwise breakfast and dinner bufffets were great.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Food was decent for buffet style.
Cons: Levels of cleanliness poor.
4.5 Okay
Pros: I think they should have more different types of food instead of beans chicken and beef everyday. The juice was also bad water down watermelon juice with no flavor or coke, Sprite. If you wanted to go into the Japanese restaurant which was awesome you have to pay $10 more for that restaurant which was every other night. If you wanted the seafood night you also had to pay $40 more and if you wanted lobster it was additional $30. This resort is miss leading we had to entertain are own shelf, by spending more money to pay for the site seeing activities, which was very costly. On this resort if you would like to sit around the pool all day this would be great and at the pool side it was all spoken in Spanish why would you do th his we you also have people speaking English. The DJ at the pool just played music out of 7 days only 2 activities. The club open at 11 and close 2 or 3 hours later. Basically I could have rented a hotel in the state.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: The rooms bathrooms need an upgrade.
7.5 Good
Pros: The pools and the beach
Cons: The snack bar
6.3 Good
Pros: The staff members provided excellent customer service. The resort is located at a very accesible location which is ‘t too far away from the city.
Cons: The lack of entertainment, cleanliness , food wasn’t very good. During our last day, we were having breakfast and we found a worm in the oatmeal.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Cleanliness room. Wonderful ocean view.

7.0 Good
Cons: Breakfast not included on the price
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked that we were in town and close to restaurants and markets. The prices were very very cheap. The beach was a 10-15 min. Walk from the town.
6.3 Good
Pros: The room was a good size and the beds were comfortable. It was a good location for what we wanted to do. The best thing about this hotel is the roof top sitting area. Alejandro was friendly and helpful and would bring you what you asked for but you have to ask for everything as there is no actual room service.
Cons: The hotel is for sale and it shows, there is little effort being put into it so the hotel has seen better days. We are not fussy but the kitchen supplies are poor, Michaels sheets were ripped, one of the fans and many of the lights didn’t work, the shower drain was so dirty that it didn’t drain properly. We were there 7 days and sheets and towels were not changed unless you asked for them to be. This is the first place that only supplies one role of toilet paper which is ridiculous. We ended up having to buy some.
6.8 Good
Pros: Cheap, good Staff and breakfast
Cons: Not clean, thin walls So You heard everything
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Like - nothing
Cons: Beter description of the place … Like your shower look out on the road, yes the road with the people right across the street Dirty - sigaret butts on the little bit of outside that we could sit and whats up with no hot water …. Please mention that in your description And Coffee - no milk no sugar dirty cups

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms where simple and very well presented. Also rooms were nice and clean A pleasant walk (7 mins ish) to the beach
Cons: Trying to get the attention of anyone at the property was hard work. This included ringing the mobile phone number which was provided but rang unanswered. It would of been nice at check in to have been offered breakfast. Theres not much choice in San Carlos. A glass in the room would have been nice
