Pros: The innkeeper attended to every detail to make us feel at home. Beautiful setting, comfy, well-appointed room, great breakfast and the best shower we’ve had in Italy.
Cons: That we had only one night there. Would have loved to be there longer. Our schedule, not theirs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: David and Lynne's hospitality was superb- friendly, engaging, he went way above the call of duty when our car rental outfit failed to provide us with a usable car on our first and second day there. The facility was beautifully restored, a clear labor of love, and was immaculate. A collection of English language books were available, as well as DVDs to view. The second floor terrace was a lovely place to sit with a glass of wine, sheltered from the sun by trees. A memorable place to stay!
Cons: N/A

Pros: They have a restaurant on site and every single thing they serve is either made there or traded with local producers! The food is amazing, and so fresh. This site is beautiful - set in the most gorgeous location, we walked down and swam in the river. there are so many fun activities around there! The manager is super helpful and she can recommend activities/hikes/Rafting, Bicycle rentals & tours, etc
Cons: It was definitely rustic, but we loved everything about it. The shower could’ve been better.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Wide selection of cold foods
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Most beautiful setting and lovely restoration of the original village. Restaurant on site was great and we enjoyed the food and breakfast. Daniella gave us a fun cooking class which was one of the highlights of our trip. The rest of the staff and the owner was very friendly and welcoming.
Cons: The room furniture was a bit basic, and sleeper couch for our son was not the most comfortable.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff were outstanding, particularly Daniela but all were friendly and helpful. Daniela was determined we should all enjoy our stay even offering to take our daughter along on a night out.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality- the pool- the convenience
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic and quite location on the hill, very clean and cosy rooms. Daniela is a fabulous host and her cooking skills and hospitality are just amazing. We’ve had two magnificent dinners, one of them was a bbq with all the guests. What a night! The food just kept coming, everything was local and/or homemade. Highly recommended! We also did the horse ride at the range nearby. The horses are strong, beautiful and very well trained. As a beginner I felt save, even high in the mountains and on narrow steep paths.

B&B Puccini - Pescaglia - Building
4
9.7 Excellent (29 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Pescaglia, B&B Puccini is in the historical district, within a 15-minute drive of Teatrino di Vetriano and Chestnut Museum. Featured amenities include a computer station, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Having a restaurant on site at the B&B was an unexpected great pleasure. Superior food and the dining room was very appealing in it's decoration and design. The owners are very particular in getting everything just right. We spent a lot of time having conversation about all the vegetables, fruits, herbs that are grown on site and to top it off some local homemade grappa!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic stay. Very kind and attentive hosts, room was very clean and cozy (and we got a free upgrade!) Best breakfast and dinner we have had in Italy so far, almost everything local produce. The town (Celle) is very small and quiet, perfect for a getaway, but still close to Lucca.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A charming room in a beautiful house. The hostess was warm and friendly, she told is where to get the best gelato in Tuscany (and it was!!) The food was great, with locally and ecological vegetables. The B&B was in a nice and quiet village with 43 citizens. We did really enjoy our stay at this house.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The views, the food, the warmth of the welcome, the cleanliness – all were excellent. Rosella and her husband are attentive, understanding, generous and wise. She is a psychologist and also a sommelier by training and uses both skills to great effect. He turns out one delicious meal after the other from the restaurant kitchen. Incredibly, the fruit and vegetables are all grown on site and organically.
Cons: By way of an amusing anecdote, on arrival we tried to drive to the front door not realising you need to park in one of the two carparks in this tiny mountain village. It was only when the track seemed impossibly narrow that we realised. Once you know that, it's as easy as anything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb food
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was amazing from beginning to end!! The location is absolutely stunning, the host very friendly and the food...oh my...the food was extremely tasty! We stayed there on New Year's Eve and feel so lucky we decided to do this! The pictures do not do justice to how good the food was! For breakfast there was a collection of cheeses, buns, cakes (some were homemade), cold meat, yogurts and cereals (some of their own production) to choose from! I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for something quiet and of good quality!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hosts, fantastic food and very special surroundings, inside and out. Wonderful views and a gem of a village. .
Cons: We were bothered by insect bites which looked as though they'd come from mosquitoes, despite the windows in the bedroom being netted.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location (very quiet place), at 30min of Lucca. The dinner was excellent, too (very good products). The rooms are very clean.
Cons: Everything was fine, just be aware with the fact that this B&B doesn’t have air conditioned, if it’s important for you.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a delightful find. We were only able to stay one night as we were having a much needed rest day between organising weddings in the area. I was a little perturbed at reading the property had to be reached on foot but I neednt have worried. It is just short stroll through the tiny and authentic old village of Celle di Puccini, and you reach the enchanting blue washed haven of the B&B Puccini. The welcoming owners immediately whisk down to your car in their little golf cart to bring your luggage up. We were fortunate to be the only guests that night, so Rosella, who is a charming hostess, had time to chat. The Puccini is delighful, the rooms really comfortable, and the welcome is very warm. We were too tired to make use of the pool but we did venture across the terraced garden to admire the vegetables growing in the well tended hillside garden. The highlight of our brief stay was the restaurant. The owners make their own bread and specialise in gormet cooking and wines from their native Alto Adige. It was an exceptional meal on the pretty terrace. Prices are a bit above average but absolutely worth it. Breakfast was served in the stone walled dining room with home made products and kind attention from Rosella. All in all a unique experience. We have made a firm resolution to go back for a long weekend in the winter. Worth noting that by arrangement its possible to visit the house of Puccini where he wrote Turandot..this is just a few steps from the B&B. Other local attractions include a minute 18th century theatre in a nearby village as well as a Museum of the Chestnut ....in this region of chestnut forests where this product was importsnt in the early production of paper.
Cons: It was a brief but lovely stay. Couldnt be improved on

Pros: Roel is a cool guy. Superchilled.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms,kitchen,breakfast ,amazing hosts
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a wonderful place to stay
7.5 Good
Pros: The town of Pescaglia is very beautiful with old stone houses and narrow streets paved by cobble stones. You can see the beautiful neighboring houses and surrounding mountains from hotel rooms and common area. The rooms are nicely decorated with style and are very clean. The breakfast was prepared with a large variety of choices and was delicious.
Cons: The place is a bit hard to find if you arrive after dark. One of the third floor rooms is connected to the common area. It could be noisy if there are activities in the common area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The village is beautiful, the view is breathtaking. Roel is a very nice and welcoming person. Every square centimeter of the Palazzo is full of history, poetry and modernity. The pool is incredible. Definitely, we want to come back again.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Very clean and comfortable room. Excellent breakfast with a beautiful view. Friendly staff.
Cons: The hotel is a little bit hard to find. I arrived at night and the navigator didn’t find it very well.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully decorated gem location with stunning view. Very comfortable rooms, luxury pool with sun deck, excellent breakfast with modern facilities. Last but not least a very helpful and interesting owner, who connects with the guests without interrupting.
Cons: No parking on the premise but 100m from the locations
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Palazzo Giusti was recommended to us by friends, so we did not really do any research ahead of time. We even thought it was in Lucca or closer to Lucca (city). Imagine our suprise when the road lead us farther away from civilization, up and up we went into hills, and hills became mountains. We absolutely loved it in Pescaglia and I am confident that you will too, if you have the right expectations: If you are looking for a place to meet new people and party, then this is NOT the place for you. But if you are looking to experience Tuscany in a different way than most, far away from busses carrying Asians by the hundreds, then this is the place for you. You can enjoy just chilling within the walls of perfectly renovated stone-houses with attractive interior design (Roel did this for a living and is excellent at it); you can relax by the pool with a nice view over the nearby hills; you can do a quick visit to Lucca (45m drive one direction) or Pisa (1h 15m drive one direction) and then retreat again into peacefulness; you can dine in restaurants where you essentially have an italian Mama cook for you (our favorite was "La Collina", home-made pasta). Roal is also absolutely lovely. Since we were the only guest, he gave us all the flexibility we needed (might be different if there are more people though). That way we went hiking in the morning and converted our breakfast to a brunch. (The breakfast is excellent as well). All in all, this is worth the price. You should seize the opportunity while you can, since Roel said something about possibly not hosting any guests anymore in the near future. This place (and also type of house) is something we can imagine retiring to as well and we would be more than happy to house-sit for Roel for a couple of weeks/months if he ever needed that ;-) Best regards, Elena and Rainer
Cons: Limited words for our recession (Screenshot of whole recession, please refer to the images)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything: the hosts, the location, the breakfast, the beds, the shower and the swimmingpool are all great!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spectacular view from Palazzo Giusti into the valley. Very tastefully designed rooms in choice of materials and colours. Delicious breakfast with local products. The hospitality of the owners is fantastic and they can give you many tips for good restaurants or places to visit. Palazzo Giusti is perfect if you are looking for tranquility whilst being able to also make day trips to the beautiful Lucca, cultural Firenze and charming Barga or going to the beaches of Torre del Lago or the amazing aqua blue Spiagge Bianche. Definitely a place to come back to! Curious to see what it looks like in winter time...

Pros: Nice hotel, pleasant staff, very nice room (free upgrade), with good facilities to relax and enjoy the holiday.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel had all the usual facilities for a classy hotel - good bed, big clean bathroom, fantastic breakfast and quality meals and wine, but the staff made all the difference - exceptional!!! From the manager, to the reception staff and all the restaurant personel, (and the chef), the service was fantastic - warm, genuine and friendly. This is one of the best places we have ever stayed.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this hotel was brilliant. The staff were fantastic, the food was fantastic - I had both breakfast and lunch, the vibe was the most welcoming I’ve ever felt in a hotel, the toiletries in the room smelt amazing and better than the usual rubbish, the spa was great and reasonably priced and the grotto and massages were fantastic - I just can’t fault any of it! The location was perfect for what I was looking for... quiet, out the way, and a nice leisurely stroll down into the village and then felt the thighs burning on the way back up!! Hands down beats the last 4 star and 5 star hotels I’ve been to recently. Will definitely return if I have the chance!
Cons: Nothing!
9.5 Excellent

Pros: Warm welcome and very friendly staff. Basic room with quality toiletries and a very nice view of the valley Tasty breakfast and dinner. Overall we felt like at home
Cons: Small, crowded and noisy pool. No deckchairs, just few chairs, not enough for all the guests. I did not expect to find such a small pool, of about 30 sm, taking into account the pictures from the hotel site. Tiny TV set.

6.3 Good
Pros: Nice the idea of a room with a specific matter (I was in the French room); nice the very big bathroom (even if for a so big bathroom there was space enough for a bigger shower).
Cons: Unfortunately there was no TV in the room, it is not a great problem or a lake of a fundamental think but.... Moreover I did not like that I did not receive a receipt from the owners.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Rosanna, Giuseppe and their son treated my like part of their family during my stay and I really had three extremely relaxing, peaceful days at La Fattoria. Breakfast was great as well and very personally prepared. Lot of nice places on driving distance to visit in the day.
Cons: It's simplistic - perfectly simplistic to me, but don't expect luxury or things to do on walking distance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners was very friendly and very helpful. The house was very amazing, rooms was lovely and cozy. The breakfast was delicious. If we will be in Tuscany, we would definitely like to come back here!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It feels like home. You feel like that you are part of their family.
Cons: Everything is excelent.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location just outside Lucca if you don't want to stay in town. The owners don't speak English, but their son do, so that helped. He made a reservation for us at a local restaurant which was the highlight of our trip. We loved the drive there and the food was excellent.
Cons: No air conditioning in the flat we had and it was very noisy as the property is on the road. Ask for a room at the back of the facility, away from the street, if you are a light sleeper.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: On the day we are the only 2 guests in the B&B, but they were prepared extremely good and varied breakfast, well done home made cakes, etc. Very warm family style.
Cons: The hot water in the shower room is limited. Could be by chance we met the problem. We couldn't finish the shower before the hot water over.

The B&B is set in gorgeous surroundings and the interior is lovely. Clean bathroom and bedroom, with a comfortable bed and nice view from the window. Roy and Shirley are friendly hosts, who look after their guests.

Roy is an amazing chef who always set us up for the day with hearty breakfast and as an optional extra prepared evening meals for us which were always of the highest gourmet quality with deserts prepared by both which were simply to die for. The accommodation is outstanding and has been lovingly restored with cosy en suite rooms that have been tastefully decorated throughout and feature some of Shirley's own creative artwork and mosaics. Cons: Nothing really.
6.3 Good
Cons: The property is located right next to a local train track and also a pretty busy road which connects to the freeway. There is no air conditioning / fans in the property so we slept with the windows open for ventilation in the summer. Needless to say, it was extremely noisy for all 3 nights we were there with plenty of cars going by the road throughout the night. Otherwise, the property is clean, comfortable and the communal living space (kitchen) was well appreciated.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was wonderful, nicely decorated. No air con but still so wonderfully cool - you would not need it. There was a fan but never needed to use it. Super super clean. And the host Veronica is a sweetheart - she is so kind and you will just love her. On arrival she left me cake and during my stay gave me snacks. So considerate. Great coffee as well. I would stay there again. Warmly recommended.
Cons: The location was not so central - best to have a car.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay, very friendly owner, perfect room, cool to walk around.
Cons: Don't know, all was good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and new - was very happy with facilities. Everything you need to cook. I needed a bottle opener but Veronica dropped one round straight away :). Veronica very nice and attentive. Her mother let me in as I arrived quite late, she doesn’t speak any English but this wasn’t a problem. Very peaceful and tranquil, remote area but I was in the area for a wedding so depends what you are after. Great views, right on the lake and next to devils bridge. Strolled over devils bridge and had a coffee the other side was beautiful. There is a communal outdoor pool in the town which looks nice. Not much outside space but balcony was fine to read and sit in the sun in the first half of the day. Loud ish with the windows open, but no need to have them open really as I had a fan and don’t even use it as it was perfect temperature without it and very hot/ sunny. There are shutters so this keeps out the sun very well.
Cons: Nothing was great :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: staff excellent. very very nice
Cons: nothing

Pros: Great location and Bridge Hotel has the nicest owner to help you while you stay.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: There are many things not to like about this hotel. It is old, no air con, very noisy - the walls are paper thin, facing a busy street and people in the restaurants nearby. If it had not been for my custom-made earplugs, I would not have gotten any sleep. Now to the worst part, the people running the hotel do not speak English AT ALL. For a whole day the wifi was down, after several attempts to explain the problem I was told that it was me that was the problem .. in Italian of course. It was not till someone Italian explained the problem to the hotel that it was resolved. Then at check-out, the hotel staff wanted to charge me more than what I had booked the room at a booking.com. They were extremely rude yelling at me in Italian, since my Italian is extremely limited I am not sure what was said. But I think they wanted to charge me more because there were two single beds in the room they gave me. However, I never asked for this. I travelled solo ... why would I want an extra bed. If they did not have a room with with a single bed why did they sell it on booking.com and at least they should have told me at check-in so I could have said no thank you. Well all extremely difficult when no one speaks a word of English. To be honest I do not think this hotel should be allowed on booking.com. It was an extremely unpleasant stay and just stay away.

6.8 Good
Cons: The worst breakfast in this category of hotels ever. Wifi password only for 2 devices and expired at midnight:) Fee for using towels to the pool. The waitress are students on the holiday without experiences.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was beautiful, 6km out of Lucca in the hills. Fabulous views. Pool space well thought out and good. Rooms spacious and clean. air conditioned and Fridge. Access to a private patio and the pool. Rustic comfort. Dining staff very good. Restaurant food very tasty.
Cons: Only had hot water in the shower and no way to cool it. No tea making in the rooms, asked for kettle and cups. Proprietor was very quiet, not always easy to find. Couldn’t work out how to hire pool towels.
4.5 Okay

Cons: Managing and service, Terrible! It was missing at all!!
5.8 Okay
Pros: The area was beautiful
Cons: The hotel was tired and not enough staff. The hotel was expensive for a basic room with poor service. The restaurant was in a beautiful spot however the chef was also working as a waitress!
3.8 Mediocre

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location with stunning views .
Cons: Staff a bit disorganised.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is very hard to beat, quiet, secluded and spectacular views. The Villa and faclities are great.
Cons: This place is a bed and breakfast, no more, no less. I know it says hotel but its actually in my view not. The rooms are GREAT as hotelrooms, meaning no possibilities of cooking, frigdge etc just like you would know any hotelroom, no complaints at all. This triggers however an expectation of a) good attentiveness from staff to get drinks, food etc. during all day and at night time at b) reasonable prices. Unfortunately both are sub standard. Hard to find staff, restaurant is often closed and the prices are very high compared to the food quality you get. Therefore I cant give better grade BUT if you are looking for a very good b&b this is the place - however as a b&b it is grocely over priced.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Infinity pool, incredible views, fascinating historic property beautifully restored
Cons: The entrance from the road is hair-raising to say the least..When we arrived on a Tuesday evening after a long hot drive we found the restaurant wasn’t open. We got over our angry mood the next day(after having driven around looking for a pizza that night) by the sheer beauty & relaxation of this special place
5.5 Okay
Pros: The view is Amazing !!!
Cons: Rooms Was very Poor to be 4-star. Charge 5€ for pooltowels is not fair.
