Whereas I only stayed for 1 night, I thought the hotel in general suited my purpose. I had an evening meal and the food was absolutely top class. Also for a welcome change with hotels, the bed was comfortable. I watched the comedy club and whereas the quality of the "comedians" was below average the thought for evening entertainment was good. I thought the "comedians" language was foul and was not merited. If they have to resort to filth to get laughs they are not doing well.
Central location, excellent room, excellent restaurant, very pleasant staff. Overall very satisfied No dislikes
Pleasant staff and good facilities at a convenient location
The rooms were well turned out and very clean. Free internet runs right through the hotel (I think all hotels should have this for free!). All the staff were extremely friendly.
our whole stay was good from check in to departture service and food were very good
Very nice hotel, everything smart amnd clean, good size of rooms, and excellent breakfast. Good value-for-money and would definitely stay there again if needing a similar stopover. None.
Excellent value. Friendly, kind and helpful service.
The manager Patrick was probably the friendliest person I have ever encountered. I would certainly recommend Boston Lodge to anyone looking for a relaxed atmosphere at a reasonable price.
Very friendly staff and welcome. Bed was very comfortable and the pillows were great. Breakfast was okay. Toast was good and tea was good. Price; £136 for 2 nights and two interlinking rooms. Would cost more at premier inn but breakfast at Premier is better Breakfast was adequate but too much fat used (driiping off bacon). Only orange for fruit juice neeeded pomegran drink or apple juice to vary. The ketlle in our room did not work properly (you had to keep the button down with your hand). Ran out of toilet paper on one occasion and had to ask for more; this sould have been checked.
everything. Good welcome. Comfortable beds. Good breakfast.
The friendliness of the staff, comfortable quiet rooms, and a great freshly cooked breakfast. Ample private parking.
Genial friendly host A bit cold
the staff were very helpful and friendly, food was good no lift in place to suuport moving luggage, pushchairs etc up the stairs
I liked the location of the hotel in that it was in the central area of the historical small town. I feel that it was reasonably priced. A couple of the younger staff at front desk were not very knowledgeable with respect to historical aspects of the town. And one of them was involved with a personal chat with a friend once when I wanted to pick up my room key. I didn't interrupt because I thought that she was dealing with another hotel guest. She apologized, but said that I should have interrupted. This was not very businesslike--in my opinion. [Re #3 below: the main reason for choosing was a combination of location & price.]
Excellent staff who obviously had a lot of experience of the hotel and the area A wedding was also booked for the weekend and the full restaurant facilities were not available
the location no wifi in room unless you are in the bar or above the bar maybe
Very clean hotel, comfortable bed, friendly staff. Restaurant a bit limited. Furnishings quite basic and tired.
The staff were helpful and pleasant The rooms were a little tired
Staff did their best Wrong room given to start with, occupied by someone else. Television broken, promises to replace it not carried out. Bed very uncomfortable. Furniture very shabby. Unpleasant, stale smells. Loud, intrusive humming noise all night
Convenient location. Comfort. Staff.
Very little!! Breakfast was OK just! Poorly informed reception staff. 23.00 hours curfew asno night porter or front door key Shabby decor Uncomfortable bed
Closeness to the event we were attending
Comfortable room with ensuite in quiet country location. Was not familiar with having to turn on hot water switch so had a cold shower in the morning. Would have appreciated it being switched on for my arrival or verbally advised by owner when shown the room.
Level access and the ground floor bedroom - relaxed atmosphere - location for nature reserve but still only 4 miles from the local town centre The rain dripping on the window ledge through the night kept me awake for 5 minutes
Good location next to nature reserve. The en suite 4 Poster room ( No 1 ) was cramped; it is difficult to see how it could have accommodated an extra bed ( as advertised ) and still allow access to the small shower room / toilet. Similarly the advertised reference to a view of the gardens and nature reserve showed poetic licence. The breakfast room was dingy.
Ideal for birdwatching - quiet country place. Clean and tidy, owners made you feel welcome Not keen on the evening 'One Pot' meal on a tray, but could suit others.
Nice people running it, breakfast very good (slightly slow), quiet, parking, price is fair. Smell in upstairs area very strong, smelt like either strong dog smell and or damp, need to get rid of. Room was a bit small. Tv reception poor. Need better TV's and proper arial, cd (dvd) player.
The owners of the hotel were very helpful and knowledgable
Close to RSPB reserve.
Loved the Listed building with old beams and antique furniture, very inkeeping with the period property. Quite different to usual hotels, very relaxed and friendly owners.
The staff were friendly and helpful For me, the location was a bit remote, with the local pub a good two miles away
Nice staff/owners, good breakfast, comfortable and homely.
