the place is great end the chateaux is nice. we were in the ground zero and our room smelled badly of moully!!! moreover there were some insect and 2 cockroach on the wall! it was awful!
Service & friendliness of staff; Owners present frequently throughout the day; attractiveness and peacefulness of the chateau; good food and wine (good value fixed price menus)
Please write at least 15 words The Chateau is a beautiful building, very picturesque. The hotel was very over priced for it's condition. It is quite run down, needs improving to be a four star hotel. Food and drinks were incredibly expensive.
We stayed here for my partners birthday and had a superb relaxing time at this hotel and in the area. The room was a superior room and was huge and very confortable. While in a more modern boutique hotel there would have been a bigger bath and separate shower stall which would have been nice but the bathroom was clean the shower worked well so absolutely no complaints. The staff were absolutely fantastic, particularly the receptionist who worked every evening; she made the trip! Her memory for names, small guest details, etc. was brilliant. She is an asset to the hotel. The breakfast in the room was staggeringly expensive for what we got 18euros for some fruit salad, a yoghurt and some mini pastries- we didn't have breakfast in the breakfast room so I'm not sure if that was better value. The bar closed at midnight even for hotel guests.
Very enthusiastic welcome, friendly staff, original room. Very glad we found this hotel on our journey through France!
The room was spotless The room was possibly the smallest room we have ever stayed in in any hotel. That was very disappointing
The Chateau was very nice, it is situated on the banks of the river Aude the rooms facing the river are fantastic. The meals and service were great although dinner was quite expensive but well worth it for at least one occassion.
Food was outstanding, staff were very attentive, hotel was beautiful, rooms were clean and comfortable. The only tiny negative point was the room was quite stuffy, we could have done with a fan or some air conditioning, but it wasn't a massive problem and we could probably have asked for one but didn't bother!
It was a nice quiet atmosphere, very peaceful for a short stay and a good centre for trips. The evening meal was very good and nciely served, but the menu could be varied more especially for those who don't eat meat. Also fresh fruit at breaskfast would be good.
Fairytale castle, very small rooms, no air conditioning or fans available even though 36degree temps.... Arrogant rude staff who were very distant and would not engage in conversation, Argued and rudely refused to cook vegetarian food, Arrogant rude staff who were very distant and would not engage in conversation, or help with baggage etc, Waiter argued and rudely refused to cook vegetarian food, not in the least helpful.
Can be hot in the room on hot days
Very nice Castle. Beautiful surroundings. Food is good too. Near Carcassonne. A bit expensive. There is not much to do in Couiza.
Beautiful hotel, friendly staff. excellent restaurant Restaurant and bar opening limited in off season i.e. closed sunday to Tuesday
The staff were wonderful and the evening dinner was superb. The maitre d was extremely helpful to my friend when she was having difficulty. The lack of flowers in the courtyard which would have added to the ambience we felt. Although the food was full of flavour it was not really hot enough when it arrived at our table. Older people do appreciate a cup of tea in the room.
Super location for exploring cathar country, very helpful staff the food was of a high standard and good value for money
The hotel was in a beautiful location, and the room, though small, was very clean and comfortable There was no kettle in the room. So necessary when on a touring holiday.
Hotel is in a beautiful location but accessible. Swimming pool is lovely - warm and clean. Room was fine - not large but clean and well equipped.Buffet breakfast good value.
Service efficient Madame friendly & helpful but tried to hard English translations of menu & other hotel documentation require re-visiting as grammar does not make sense but makes for amusing reading
Beautiful setting next to the river. Close enough to town to be useful without the noise. Comfortable room with tidy en-suite. Reception friendly - good English spoken. Small swimming pool best suited for leisure rather than training. I thought tea/coffee making facilities should have been included.
It was very quiet and peaceful. The room was comfortable and the scenery was superb. The breakfast was very good.
I really liked the nice mix between the old, Limoux is a very ancient place and it is reflected in the Grand Hotel Moderne et Pigeon, and the new, up to the minute facilities. Nothing.
Good facilities - we had bikes and had safe area in internal courtyard to lock up safely. Room was very well decorated.
this is one of the most beautiful logis de france we overnight old convent converted into a luxury hotel with large rooms and good beds as it was on a monday the restaurant was not open - shame - if the food is at hotel level it must be fabulous - the breakfast was good - buffet very friendly girl at reception
the young lady on reception was very helpful indeed as was another of her colleagues later with her. we had problems parking at the Hotel and had to move the car closer to the hotel mid-way through the evening. only the issue with Parking. Limoux was a nice Town, the hotel was well situated and we would stay there again.
Small family run, friendly, hotel. Bedroom was clean and spacious, comfortable. Food was fairly good. Pleasant garden with play area at rear. Our room faced the garden at the rear. A little way out of the town. Bathroom was very small. Our bedroom was at the rear overlooking the garden, would imagine rooms at front would experience road noise.
