The Hotel was wonderful. The room was as expected from photos on the website. Very comfortable with character. Great location. Staff very friendly. Would stay again.
Good clean room with a view of the Loire river. In town center but very quiet. Comfortable bed. Excellent restaurant, pleasant outdoor dining. Good value breakfast. Shower left a little to be desired.
Staff were warm and welcoming, even though they were busy and we had arrived very late. We enjoyed the excellent food and the riverside setting. The room was very comfortable with its own little terrace, a good bathroom and great value. We enjoy walking before going to bed and we would have liked to be able to use an external key to enter after the main door is locked. Other than this, we recommend it highly.
Restaurant serves excellent traditional french cuisine, friendly staff, quiet, nice location, free parking.
NIce Location too expesive breakfest.
Price was fair with the atomosphere and staff's English incapability. No laggage table, and internet could not be used (was told that was caused by a techincal problem in all the town) - seems not a good hotel on business. Only mistress can speak English and she seemed to be friendly. However, in spite that I had asked a taxi in the last evening, the taxi did not show up at the requested time next morning and waited nearly 1.5 hours.
Situated in a pleasent town good walk beside the river. Difficult to find. Restaurant had a massive television screen which was left on all the time so did not eat there. Next door was a very nice quite restaurant
Very cheap, comfortable, clean and tidy, nice staff. Lacked obvious directions/signs on where to and how to check in.
It was perfect for breaking a long car journey. Very good value for money. Whilst not very modern, it was clean and comfortable. The location was good - very easy to find and a short walk from the town centre, but it was a little noisy.
Great location in Digoin for our purposes. 1. carpet in our room was worn and dirty (although the rest of the room was clean.) 2. It is not obvious where the entry door to this hotel is. There is no sign at the entrance that tells you to go down the block to a restaurant a few doors away. We ended up surprising a chef in a nearby kitchen when we entered the only open door in an alley way.
close to the river, enclosed parking, No elevator
Good value for money - especially when compared with what you would get if staying close to a major French city. It has free wireless internet and private parking. Set in a friendly village, with nice restaurants. If you're not strapped for cash, then you should definitely try the Restaurant "De La Gare" - we couldn't be happier with it (they also have a Hotel, but it's slight more expensive).
Great service, owner drove me to the only open restaurant in town as most where closed due to a religious holiday
Clean room and quite comfortable bed, free internet connection.
Room was comfortable, and the Restaurant was superb. The location was good for a night stop.
Owner spoke good English; very helpful and made me feel very welcomed. The walls are thin, thus it is easy to hear talking from the next room. Restaurant food was very good as well as the service. I can recommend this hotel for anyone going there. It is excellent value for money. Thin walss; could not understand why I had someone next to me when the hotel just had a few guests.
good food in the restaurant for a good price, rooms are clean but small, good enough for a short stay, friendly people.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, good rooms. Highly recommend.
Nice situation by bridge and close to village. Has own restaurant and good food.
Quality hotel for the price with a great restaurant also outdoor swimimg pool and patio
proximity to the canal and the town Noise from the road
I liked the decoration they have had. The main theme was fishing, fishermen and fishing utility. Very nice and original.
Room was cleasn. Hotel's restuarant closed very early, therefore I was not able to eat dinner.
Limited menu at the restaurant, though there was a snail festival on at the time. Rather noisy due to street noise.
In a convenient location for the town and easily accessible to the surrounding area. Friendly hosts though they spoke only basic English. Rooms were small and cramped.Bathroom facilities were barely adequate with a very small, old fashioned shower. Breakfast though cheap was very basic without even plates for the french bread!
it was in the centre of a nice village. the room was poor but the price was very low so what can you expect?
Cleaness of the room and dining room Pool was disappointing that day
The rooms were clean and the shower was excellent. Be warned about the inflexible check-in hours! Our train from Paris to Digoin sat on the track for more than 2 hours because of a fire on the line. We phoned the manager to say we would be later than the stated check-in deadline of 9 pm because of the disruption to our trip. He said the hotel would be closed. When we eventually made our way to the hotel from the Digoin station (no other option) he refused to let us in. Finally he relented and permitted the four of us (2 mature couples) to enter the hotel and go into our 'non-refundable' rooms. Never in our wildest dreams would we have expected that the train would delay our planned 6pm arrival by more than 4 hours. The manager's inflexibility and rudeness was most upsetting.
The owner-operators of Chateau Latour are a wonderfully welcoming couple who moved from Amsterdam a few years ago to open this small property. It has only four rooms upstairs and one apartment downstairs - you will never get lost in a crowd. Evert Jan cooks lovely French meals, often using fres ingredients from Therese's vegetable garden. The breakfast features fresh croissants from an excellent patisserie about 300 meters away on the village square. The pool is enticing and in warm weather could convince you to take part of a day off from touring. This is not a "luxury" hotel, but the bathrooms and furnishings are modern and comfortable. Wifi is available gratis. Chateau Latour is a great jumping-off stop for visiting many Burgundy towns.
