It is only possible to like this "hotel" if one has a weird sense of humour or is desperate to sleep in a museum. It is really a very expensive chambre d'hôte. There was no swimming pool as listed on booking.com. There was no wardrobe or places to stand suitcases, or TV, or any other facility. Breakfast was good quality but very small rations and no choice.
The garden was a fabulous little retreat...so beautiful! I really enjoyed sitting out there and would go back just for that. The room was clean & had interesting decor and a large bath which was nice and relaxing (tip: you can buy lavender oil at vignerons coop at roundabout on way into BourgSt.Andeol for a nice aromotherapy bath.) The A/C worked and bed was comfortable. I liked all the cool old artifacts and furniture in this old converted building. The town of Bourg St.A was kind of sleepy, but sweet and near to Ardeche Gorges. I wish I'd stayed longer there and at this hotel, but I was heading south so only stayed overnight. The owner spoke English and gave info about local sights and how to get there. I couldn't get the wifi to work, but could just have been a service provider temporary issue, as apparently there is usually wifi.Parking for this hotel is in front, in above ground municipal parking lot next to the river, but the entrance to the hotel is hidden & around back (no elevator) so you have to carry your luggage up hill and around the block from your car.I parked illegally for short time, in the back alley to unload/load my bags but this annoyed some locals who yelled at me in French.C'est dommage ;) At first, couldn't figure out how to checkin because noone at the desk & noone around, wandered around ~40 minutes & even contemplated leaving since couldn't find anyone-then saw bell way up high above head on left of doorway~lookUp!
Our host Oliver was there to help us in any way and he indeed did so - we need medicine for my wife and myself and he took us to the chemist and doctor for prescriptions - he spoke about this 250 year huge home with great detail and respect - closs to lovely food - i had the best lamb meal i have had any where in the world - back next year. parking was in front of hotel and we could see our vehicle we had to go around the back to get to it - it was not a major problem - the surround country villages made up for one small inconvience.
Central location and free parking
Clean, basic facilities, exactly as described. Very friendly staff (owner?)
clean and hospitable - nice and clean environment
good location and the room was clean, breakfast was also good compared to other French hotels in this price range mobile airco didn't work. the owner couldn't fix it and even blamed us for the problem (that we moved it, which was not true) he said he just bought it, so it should work... we got hardly any sleep with our 2 years old child in the very hot room during the night as it was 30 C in it. The owner didn't even want to give discount. I was very pissed off
Located in the centre of the small town it was ideal for looking aound with numerous bars and restaurants very near as well as a church. The owner was a very likeable person who made you feel welcome. Our room was of a large size with a air con unit and the bed was comfortable. A large bathroom but it could have done with a shower curtain.
we were on route to the south of france so we just stayed for one night, but it was very convenient
The Owners were kind and helpfull peoples.
Very friendly people
Room was spacious and clean; the manager/owner had an attitude at first but became more hospitable in the evening. Park your car early and walk in town as the lot fills up quickly! The WIFI worked OK and the air conditioner also worked but was noisy - it was 30C at 11 PM so it was welcome, nonetheless. This is the best hotel in Pierrelatte. See above for review of pros and cons.
The hotel is in the city and easy to find it.The parking is in the front of the hotel but it is small and it was unswept almost dirty. The breakfast was very expensive and it contained almost nothing. The cleanness and the breakfast.
