Lovely staff, very traditional style farmhouse with delightful dining room and good food. Great breakfasts in particular. The bedroom was a little dark but had a space to sit outside with table/chairs etc. and was clean and comfortable. Child friendly. Rooms were a little dark.
Charming accommodation. Excellent cuisine! Very welcoming. Room had a bit of a damp smell but it didn't spoil our stay
peaceful rural location - delightful grounds, with picnic tables and chairs, some sheltered - warm welcome (we arrived too early)and friendly helpfulness by all the staff - clean comfortable rooms with good ensuite facilities - excellent meals (some of the food no doubt coming from the farm) - ability to understand & speak French a big advantage Rooms rather dark - flies (inevitable when staying at a farm!)
It's relaxing countryside location, yet within easy reach, (15 to 20 minutes) of the nearest town.
The genuine farmhouse surroundings and an excellent 5 course dinner. Having to leave.
The peace and quietness coupled with friendly and unobtrusive service. The warm bath and log fire after a very wet day. Personally I have a small appetite and the servings at dinner were too large but I realise this would be an advantage for many.
We have stayed at rhe Hotel a few times and have always been comfortable although the rooms are small.
It was quiet and the restaurant was excellent. The rooms were basic and rather dark.
Really happy and kind staff. The restaurant is excellent. Fantastic for an overnight stay and great meal in France.
The service was wonderful - so personal - they couldn't do enough for us. The food also was excellent but unfortunately my husband doesn't like a continental breakfast! We've stayed before and hopefully we shall certainly stay there again. Really lovely people.
This was the last stop after driving up from Spain with our very large dog (55kgs!). The hotel/staff were most accommodating. We had to be near the tunnel and this hotel met our requirements spot on. Out in the countryside which suited our (and the dog's needs). The evening meal was superb. Probably the best of the entire trip. The decor was very French. The hotel is in a hamlet so there is nothing else. Even the only cafe had been closed down, so drinks only available at the hotel - no problem. The hard bolster pillow was very uncomfortable so not a good nights sleep, but this is purely a minor niggle to an otherwise good overnight stop.
Rooms, food, staff and service all excellent. None
Very friendly staff and excellent restaurant, but with a limited menu The faciiities were tired, but everything worked, and the hotel more than justified its 2* rating, since the warmth of the welcome made up for its other limitations
The welcome was warm and sincere upon arrival and the staff did speak some English. The room was spacious and very clean and more than adequate for an overnight stay - I now wish I'd booked a couple of nights here and used it as a base to tour the local countryside. dinner at night was excellent and there was a choice of different fixed price menus. Overall, a most enjoyable stay and I would certainly return to this property. Nothing really. A couple of bulbs didn't work on the table lamp but I'm sure that could have been easily fixed if I'd have mentioned it.
Evening meals were of an excellent standard. Staff very tolerant of our poor french explaining in English where needed None
Warm reception upon arrival, and that excellent service continued throughout our stay, nothing was too much trouble, even when we came down very late for breakfast.
Nice setting & convenient for Boulogne Ferry port Good quality food for adults, very poor choice for children (only 1 option!) Average standard of room & service in the restaurant was very slow
It was clean and well located
A basic but good hotel. Very helpful owner. Room was fine, breakfast was lovely. Parking no problem.
The hotel should mend the broken and mouldy tiles around the shower
Very good breakfast Room drab but clean ,shower needs nonslip mat, toilet bowl broken
Convenient location On street parking
The breakfast was good. The staff were quiet but friendly very basic room and not much space. Shower too small.
Booking procedure and breakfast were fine Our 'superior' room was like a small box. The tiny ensuite had a slide and fold plastic door which did not close.
Clean good shower Room too small difficult to walk round bed, no space for luggage no space for car parking.
Friendly service and quiet atmosphere
Clean, quiet and convenient
Lovely building in lovely area. Friendly welcome Food, both dinner and breakfast was poor for the price. There are two menus or dinner,26e or 37e. We opted for the 37e but practically everything on this menu that was not on the 26e carried a 6e supplements. In addition the meat was cold and the cabbage waterlogged. The so called tart tatine was a flan of soggy pastry and tasteless apple puree. The only meat product available for the 12e buffet breakfast was a very indiferent rillettes and the only cheese small prepacked portions of processed. Neither meal was particularly tasty and both were overpriced for what they were.
Superb breakfast.good restaurant menu.general ambience Lack of tv in room
The friendly reception from the staff/proprietor and excellent food
Delicious food. Family atmosphere. Friendly staff. Very clean. The children loved the farm animals. Easy to find - good directions The play area in the garden was a little disappointing
Superb evening meal, gardens beautiful, staff excellent. Ideal stopover before taking ferry / tunnel.
Very friendly staff. Pretty gardens. Excellent location. When we chose to eat in the restaurant, the food was fabulous and the staff very chatty and helpful. Speaking French may be recommended to gain the most from staying at the hotel.
The gardens were lovely and the whole ambience very tranquil. The choice of dishes on the menu and at the buffet breakfast was varied without being excessive - a menu that offers too many choices is usually going to provide something that has been heated in the microwave. The shower head was clogged, providing only a few spouts of water round the rim and there was nowhere in the bathroom to hang up damp towels, though there was space for a towel stand or rail. The procedure for the evening meal was not explained so we sat outside for an hour (not unpleasant in the early evening sunshine, fortunately) before a waitress finally brought us some menus. The meal when we got it featured locally produced chicken and very fresh and lightly cooked vegetables, but served in a way that was more reminiscent of a school canteen than a restaurant. Perhaps a little more thought could have been given to the presentation.
very pretty surroundings - peace and quiet - rooms all had own entrances - restaurant beautifully decorated - easygoing atmosphere. no
The children (aged 4 and 6) loved the farm animals, and the large garden. We ate dinner on the first night, but chose not to have breakfast, so can't comment. We had a separate (but adjoining) room from the children, which worked perfectly for our 3 night stay. We found it paradoxical that the farm and garden are clearly set up for children, but the dinner menu and restaurant facilities clearly aren't.
A very nice rural location in an old farmhouse, excellent dinner and breakfast, friendly and helpful owners.
tranquil grounds - peaceful atmosphere no air conditioning
Eating, drinking, walking, peace and quiet
Comfortable surroundings attentive service good food very comfortable room. nothing
Excellent character chateau. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent room. Overall very relaxing, enjoyable stay There should be tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms
The rooms are excellent; spacious and well fitted out. The setting of the hotel is beautiful The service at dinner was awful, not at all what you would expect from a hotel of this quality and price range. We waited an hour between our first course and main course; they brought the wrong wine and the wrong water. I did complain at the time and received a reduction on the bill, but it should not have happened at all. Why don't you have proper showers in bathrooms, rather than those hand held ones?
A pleasant ambiance with good food and wines well positioned for the Channel Tunnel
Hotel very comfortable in a good location not too far from port of Calais and in easy reach of le touquet and burlogne. Breakfast expensive. evening menu did not change during our 3 night stay.On one evening booked for dinner at 7.30pm and did not eat until 9.00pm with no explanation offered!
We stayed in the annexe called the farmhouse and it was excellent. We have stayed at Ch. Clery several times before and knew the standard of the restaurant to be very high. Our best reccomendation is that we will go again!
Marvellous and relaxing stop-off after arriving in Boulogne. Just right to refresh us for our on-going journey. Lovely ambiance and helpful and pleasant staff. Comfortable and peaceful, good service and good food.
Very quiet and relaxing, just what we wanted. Great staff and reseraunt food to die for...
Excellent and comfortable room, pleasant and very helpful staff, very good buffet breakfast with the one reservation below Unusually the offer of bacon, sausage and scrambled egg on the buffet, likely for a largely British clientele. But unfortunately the British influence extended to the scrambled eggs, which were awful and worthy of an English hotel.
It was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Some of the furniture in the corridors was broken and the displays looked tired, otherwise it was fine.
Position Room was small and plain. Things worn. Needs redcoration. No power plug at the desk.
Very welcoming. They have renovated a bit since our last stay a few years ago Room thermostats not turned up before arrival
The room was comfortable and the evening meal in the restaurant was excellent. I would have liked parking to be included in the room rate. To be fair the hotel staff when asked where the entrance to the hotel car park was located said I could park free in the square in front of the hotel.
Very nice, large, spacy and quiet hotel. The executive double room is large and comfortable. Nice location in old city, central for many trips to other places of interest along the coast and inland. The adjacent restaurant is very good, superb food (but not cheap). Breakfast OK.
Building itself is very attractive and there is good parking in the square just by the hotel. English speaking reception staff if you need this. Not very good value for money - rooms were fairly ordinary, some shabby paintwork and bathroom tiling in the rooms - we stayed in 2 different ones plus were allocated a room which we asked to change because the window didn't close securely on the ground floor. There was nothing wrong with this hotel, and the location was great for what we needed, but I probably wouldn't stay there again.
Peaceful atmosphere, courteous staff, beautifully appointed room and ensuite, comfortable public rooms. Free parking in the square fronting the hotel. Central location in a town full of history and charm. Did not have its own resturant but there were plenty of reasonable eating places in the town. The TV in room did not appear to have English speaking channels. A mini bar would have been useful.
It's comfortable, spacious and very central to the town. It's the second time we've stayed there this year. It was primarily to visit the town, but had the hotel not been good, we'd have selected another on the second trip.
we loved the room, small but clean ,very modern, nice large shower & excellent bedlinen.Good breakfast, plenty of parking spaces & friendly staff.Good value.
Clean, comfortable rooms, good situation Staff not very friendly
price small rooms .no english menu
The staff were welcoming and friendly, the rooms are small but well designed and spotlessly clean. Perfect for a stopover without having to be in central Calais. Nothing!
All rooms very well appointed if a little small. Very nice reception area but bar closes at 10pm so do not expect a late drink
Small and perfectly formed!! Small rooms but so expertly fitted out. Everything you could need. Comfort very good. The staff were very accommodating. My French is not good so we had some French lessons. Thank you Elodie!!! If you want a large bedroom then this is not for you but the comfort and kindness of the staff more than makes up for room size. Adequate lounge and bar so you don't have to sit in your room!!!
The food The room we had on the first night was cramped and uncomfortable.
No pretensions. Got what you paid for. Very relaxed.
Food excellent - menu terroir interesting and good value - excellent cheese table. Attractive courtyard layout - quiet rooms . Bathroom decor
cheeful plite staff
We didn't stay long because we were going further south and the weather was poor. The hotal restaurant was excellent.
The reason we coming back to this hotel is the fantastic resturant - makes it a great weekend treat.
The room was okay but we did not eat at the hotel too expensive 14 euros to park overnight was expensive parked on road outside
Location and staff excellent. we dined in the restaurant and as always it was fantastic. I think the car parking charge at 14 euros is too high. We paid the firstnight but parked in the square adjacent the second, a more reasonable rate and we would have parked both nights.
Our room was nice and clean and the heating system was excellent. Breakfast was good, with excellent service. The location is great, being only an hour and a quarter from Calais and half an hour from Le Touquet. Montreuil, and Hesdin, which is half an hour further inland, are both excellent for shopping and eating out. Lock-up parking was offered at €14 a night. We declined and parked by our room. On leaving, our bill included €28 for parking. They said parking by our room was also chargable, and a notice displayed outside stated that. Unfortunately, the writing was small, so we hadn't been able to read it. We'd booked a table for the Saturday night and were greeted cordially, and offered an aperitif on arrival. After our 2 Dubonets arrived we found out they cost €8 each - you can buy a litre for €8.25! We chose the cheapest menu (€40 each). After our starters, it took over an hour for our main courses to arrive. My fish and my partner's beef were both too tough to eat. Sad - we stayed and ate there before, really enjoyed it, and didn't feel overcharged.
pretty basic really-but o.k.just
Friendly owners, plenty of space. Lots of hot water. within easy reach of beaches and other towns.
Central position in town. Car parking Sofa beds uncomfortable for sitting; would prefer armchair
Very friendly staff. Good service.
Friendliness of the owners Value for money Secure off street parking
Location/convenience to Le Touquet (where reasonably priced hotels were booked up) an the secure parking One shower door was missing, there was no milk/powdered milk for tea and coffee making
Cheap and cheerful and a good centrally located stop-over. Helpful reception staff. Tea/coffee making facilities were welcome. Convenient for the centre of town with convenient parking. Surprisingly quiet considering the central location despite the fair being in town that weekend. Small room. Breakfast at 7 euros seemed a little expensive.
Owners were very friendly and helpful. Even loaned us the use of their own child's high chair.
The staff, the appartment and its location
Reasonable Price.Good Central Location in Town.Secure Parking.Good Breakfast.Quiet Area.Perfect For An Overnight Stay.
The rooms were excellent and the building is very special as is the location near the town's ramparts
It is utterly charming, well situated in an interesting and historic part, and the staff and courtesy and design of the rooms are excellent. The rain!
A very French experience, lovely suite, traditionally decorated. Excellent food, wine and restaurant service No access to room till 3pm, but as we arrived early we were told that we could get in at 1pm, so waited around 45 mins, then told not ready, be another 30 mins, then told come back at three. We wasted a couple of hours doing this.
The meal was excellent but the room was poor
Beautiful setting with lovely grounds making for a relaxing stay.
La ferme Du Vert is a comfortable country hotel just 20 minutes from Eurotunnel at Calais. It provides an excellent base for exploring Nord and Picardie or it could be just a great place to end your long journey from the South. We will certainly be using the hotel again.
Just a little 'off the beaten track' but within easy reach of the A16 and only 24.5 miles from Calais' Ferry Port. I am SO glad I selected La Ferme Du Vert for my final night in France. Quiet countryside, a beautiful location. I loved my room: huge, comfortable, well appointed and clean (but no facilities for coffee/tea?!). The restaurant is a very high standard. I really enjoyed the ambience and had an excellent, leisurely evening meal. Breakfast was very good indeed. I thoroughly recommend this hotel.
The furnishings in the room we were in were lovely and we were very comfortable. The staff were really all very nice and we would go as far as to say it is definately the best Logis we have stayed in, and we have stayed in many. We would definately go back! No
The ambiance of the whole place was wonderful
Hotel staff were very friendly! Beautiful location! The room was very clean and tastefully decorated. There weren't any!
Lovely location! The resturant and food was perfect and the staff from being greated to check were just lovely,Thank you, it made it a very specila weekend for 8 of us! N/A
The ambiance and service throughout is impeccable.
The restaurant was excellent and the bed was confortable. They were very accommodating with small children and babies. Our room was on the upper floor of converted barn, which was nice but lacked natural light: the windows were a bit small.
Lovely stay, lovely hotel. Great location - away from everything!
Friendly with good food
It is very central, the rooms were nice, quiet, clean, and the courtyard cozy. The breakfast is probably not worth the 15 euro, but there was no hassle about declining it. It would be nice if the wifi extended to the rooms and not just the lobby.
The rooms were tastefully decorated, the food was of an excellent quality and reasonably priced.
beautiful setting and lovely room not enough tea bags and coffee in the room
Centre of town, pleasant staff, good location to visit other locations in area Would have liked to have a final nightcap, about 11.45 in the evening, but advised "c'est ferme". The 4 couples who were in the party are mature, well mannered and we didn't think, that for residents, it was much to ask.
Central locality in small historic town. Welcoming staff. Quality food.
Had a family room which was large with separate bathroom and toilet. Bedroom and bathroom were very large. Bathroom had large selection of products/towels etc a really good hotel. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and the fruit salad was very fresh. Dinner menu very nice but a bit pricey but that maybe due to area.
Family rooms available
Fantastic firendly staff, excellent quality rooms and very careful attention to detail. We had a family room and it was ideal for us and our two children - very spacious and comfortable.
Excellent family room, perfect for our needs 15 euros for breakfast seemed expensive
Pleasant staff, good food and surroundings.
All the staff were polite and informative, easy parking. Very good breakfast. Food was good except the cicken main course, we were offered a replacement.
Friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms and a good selection at breakfast
My wife and I like the rooms - spacious and comfy, which is why we have stayed there on many occasions.
Very friendly & helpful staff
Pleasant surroundings, very pleasant room with sofa. Breakfast was reasonable without being outstanding. Good parking available Prices for drinks
The hotel restaurant is not child friendly, despite the staff saying it was. We felt unwelcome because of this.
Extremely pleasant and helpful staff who go out of their way to make one's stay enjoyable. Lovely lounge area to relax in. Excellent service and very good food. We have stayed here several times and the quality has remained consistently good.
The fact that we were not disturbed by cleaners on a Sunday morning and the quiet setting. The bar had realistic prices. The final bill was more than advertised on the web. We were charged for breakfast before we were asked if we had had any. This was then removed from the bill. The price of breakfast was dearer than suggested when we booked on line, so we went elsewhere out of principle.
welcoming staff, comfortable room,v good restaurant & fairly good breakfast
Food, food and food! The most fantastic, innovative, surprising and delicious dinners and superb, if simple, breakfasts. The staff were friendly and helpful (not always guaranteed in France!). The position at the foot of a fortified and charming town with walkable walls. The location facing a river and pretty countryside in a quiet, upmarket, village. It was expensive but considering the food (did I mention that?) we were happy to pay it.
location surly staff. Very poor food in restaurant - massively overpriced
The setting is lovely beside a river and below the medieval walls. The food was imaginative and very good and with some interesting surprises. The room had fun touches (e.g. lightbulbs with wings) and a nice bathroom. Would recommend going there for dinner, but staying elsewhere nearby. The drinks were very overpriced - 11 euros for a mediocre, small glass of wine, which was listed on the board as being 8 euros. The room was quite expensive for what it was - the bed took up most of the room and you didn't even get a bottle of water without paying for it. The gravel outside meant that anyone walking by was very noisy. Also, the hotel booking said that there was free Wifi throughout the hotel but there was none. When we asked about it, we were just told "You are in the country - what do you expect?" When we mentioned it to the owner the next morning, he just shrugged and didn't say anything. I would have expected better customer service from a hotel that is expensive and advertises itself as something special.
The staff were excellent, welcoming and gracious. And in the room the bed was generous, the linen lovely and the bath robes a treat. The food was superb and we will certainly return. In common with many French hotels, the lighting in the room could be improved.
The food was interesting but pretentious comparing it with the Hotel Montrachet - Pouligny where we stayed for 3 nights it is overpriced.
Shwer worked well and parking was easy. Generally tired feel to everything - carpets worn, sink blocked, not preapred for us.
excellent food - breakfast & evening meal. comfortable room - plenty of space toilet in a very narrow area
I'd read some reviews, mostly good, so was aprehensive. It was clean, bright and comfortable with excellent facilities and ideally situated on the outskirts of Le Touquet where parking can be a problem. Here at 'Le Charles' I was able to park opposite, about 20 metres away. We shall certainly stay there again. The hotel is literally 5 minutes from the motorway exit.
The location of the Hotel was good, and parking over the road was very easy.We only had our breakfast's in the hotel but it was ok. The hotel was very clean. The tv service was inadequate. A list of timings for all meals available would be convenient.
Easy access from A16, and to nearby Le Touquet. Parking opposite hotel. Spacious family room with comfrotable beds.
A very comfortable hotel with excellent food and wine. The staff were very good, helpful and friendly and the chef was superb. We shall visit again next year None
The people running the hostellerie were very kind, from the moment I entered the building upon my leaving. Although some people will consider €30 for a main course in the restaurant a high price, for the quality of the food it certainly isn't.
Rooms smart and restaurant had potential. The chef is a pastry man and this showed in his cooking, as the amuse bouche and main course were very average, but the chocolate souffle was excellent. Cold room and management said heating would not be turned on until October 1st. Food pretentious and not very tasty
The food was exquisite
Food was excellent quality, creative and value for money.Hospitality excellent. Room a bit small and nowhere downstairs to sit apart from the wonderful garden.
Warm friendly welcome and attentive staff, quiet location but only 10 min drive to ferryport and Bologne town centre. Recently refurbished, decor very stylish, with super attention to detail. Food to die(t) for!
excellent food and service. attractive decor and relaxing ambiance. welcoming friendly staff
I loved the way the staff greated us on arrival and offered us a lovely appricote drink. The retaurant was first rate and the hotel and grounds were beautiful. We had a problem with the low, angled ceilings in our room on the top floor, and the bath/shower was kind of hard to use with the slanted ceiling.Overall the room was very nice.
Fabulous welcome, food and accommodation
Everything. I know Boulogne Sur Mer and its surroundings very well and was so surprised to find such a wonderful hotel and restaurant. The owners are pleasant and professional. The rooms (recently renovated) are very comfortable. no comments
proximity to ports We were very disappointed with the meals. Didn't appear to be freshly prepared and not of a quality at the price. Wine was over-priced. Croissants not cooked thoroughly the room smelt slightly of smoking.
Excellent restaurant Uncomfortable bed
Friendly staff Excellent restaurent but restricted menu
basic clean hotel with excellent restaurant, convenient location & reasonably priced for a dinner, bed & breakfast
Easy to find, safe parking, good restaurant attached.
Quiet and private location
The breakfast was more than sufficient. They obviously cater for the English with their bacon and scrambled eggs! The location was excellent for us, being close to Hardelot golfcourse.
Restaurant a la carte Breakfast was 8.5 euros, even for my two children aged 9 and 6 yrs who hardly ate, in fact the only thing they ate was a bowl of cornflakes for 8.5 euros?. The most expensive meal ever? I did query this with receptionist but was told there was no child breakfast price.
W felt the hotel was basic we stayed in room 4 and was dissapointed with the quality of the shower and the furniture was only good for one person and very little comfort, the staff were pleasant and helpfull and the meal was good quality altho we felt the resteraunt lacked any atmosphere, breakfast was very good quality altho coffee and tea making facilities if not available in the room should be made available, perhaps this is the case and we did not understand any directions regarding tea or coffee making. We would regard this as a motel with a resteraunt and not a hotel.
Food was very good. Bedrooms and surrounds needs to be updated. However it looked as if work was about to be carried out.
Rooms were excellent , mattress & bedding were fist class. Indoor pool would have been nice, would have occupied the kids.
Rooms lovely with modern furnishings. Free computer web access in the rooms and large selection of television channels.Beautiful view across the golf course. Friendly and attentive staff. Dining room and food excellent with a good menu. Breakfast selection excellent. Very clean.Good climate control. Good shower. The outdoor lights were very bright into our room when curtains closed but did not affect us much. The bath was lovely but a bit deep for climbing out following a shower, bit slippy. We could hear people walking about on the tiled floor beneath our room. Non of the above spoilt or affected our stay.
Lovely stay, great room,we ate in the restaurant and it's excellent. Fantastic hotel for golf or for one or two night stopover for ferry or tunnel.Recommended
Clean, Contemporary style. Nice rooms. Nice views. Nice staff. Generally a good place to stay. Accepts pets. - We had took a dog. Car parking - not enough space between cars. Plus, it was totally full when I visited. Couldn't eat in the dinning room - full ! Should have reserved, however, the Internet booking does not make provision for making a reservation in the dinning room.
Pleasant staff .Clean, modern environment. Moderately priced.A little off the beaten track for security and tranquility.
The location of the hotel, the decor and cleanliness and facilities were excellent. The view from our bedroom window was beautiful. The staff could not have been more welcomimg and helpful. The standard of the cuisine was wonderful. A very minor criticism - the menu was the same for dinner each evening of our stay - but the food was wonderful
Comfort of the room, peaceful location, excellent service, wonderful food. This hotel is one of the best in its class that I have stayed at, and thoroughly recommend it. Rooms are spacious and clean and the beds are beautifully comfortable. Nothing - everything was excellent
Great staff, very helpful and brilliant english, thank you, asked for directions to calais and night manager got us to follow him all the way couldn't been more helpful. When we checked in, we asked about evening meal only to be told that the restaurant was fully booked, after travelling 10hrs this wasn't good news, their should be notes about this when booking your room!!! As i've written before the staff were so helpful that we were squeezed in later, but as residents we should automatic seats in resturant as hotel in middle of no where.
Beautiful location; very comfortable room with lovely views. Very slow bar service; kitchen out of order on first night. Poor breakfast selection and impossible service - some of the staff were not V. friendly. Only one poor guy running around the dining room trying to get drinks for everyone. No croissants or pain au raisin etc.
Verry nice surrourdings
Very useful first/last night when arriving from UK before/after channel crossing. Good food. Difficult to eat away from hotel. Menu reflects this as starts at 40 euros.
setting of the hotel
people and food food good but a little fussy
The restaurant was excellent and garden an grounds very pre
