We were pleasantly surprised. For being in a downtown area, the hotel went the extra mile to make you feel like you were in a tropical area with the landscaping, and the rooms are in what they call cottage style. Also the rooms were well equipment with everything you might need from robe, soap and shampoo, and plenty of pillows. to a quick cup of coffee first thing in the morning. They even gave you a care bag filled with a quick snacks. Then there is the first rate restaurant they have up at the main desk area for a nightly meal, which is open to town. Some of the hotels in the area have a golf cart service offered to guest as parking in the area is limited, and there is a lot of stores and other things to do in areas we would of liked to visited. But the only one this hotels offers is the one that the town sponsors which requires you to down load, apply on line for a there shuttle which is not always available.
I was traveling through , tired and needed a bed. They were the cheapest with an available bed. The woman at the counter that night was friendly enough. When I first walked in I thought it didn't seem that bad, but the more I looked, the more I found. There was a full size refrigerator that took up a lot of space and that had rust on it, bedspread had burn holes on the underside and the clincher, I saw bedbugs. If it wasn't for the fact that the money was nonrefundable, I would have left.
I really liked this place. Good-sized efficiency, full kitchen, comfy sitting room, separate bedroom. It could have been cleaner but my room wasn't as dirty as other reviews made it out to be. Staff was friendly and helpful. Very "Florida" clientele. A few people being loud outside around midnight. All in all, it was a good place for a great rate. Made me feel right at home in my first visit back to Florida in awhile. On a side note, it got my creative juices flowing. Once I make my millions, I'm going to come back to the Homing Inn and write my first novel.
Price was good for the location. It was dirty (especially the bathroom) and no breakfast.
