Ibis Budget Braga Centro

Location is excellent. Being on the 7th floor we could barely hear street traffic Breakfast is correct for a 2 star hotel. The breakfast staff were polite. There is no onsite parking, and they have a paid parking place nearby, but we found street parking to be relatively easy in the surrounding area, helping to keep costs down. Braga itself has a surprisingly beautiful city centre and is well placed for driving to the Geres national park, which is quite spectacular.

We arrived at reception and stood in front of the receptionist for a whole 5 mins before he finally looked up from his computer to acknowledge our presence. He then claimed he could not find the reservation, which he eventually did, although it took 3 attempts with the booking reference in front of him all the time. Manuel may have been having a bad day, but there is no excuse for poor customer service even in a 2 star hotel. Basic manners does not cost anything, rudeness will cost you clients and money. The room was fine .... what do you expect for 40 euros! However, the bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows barely noticeable they were so flat. The coffee machine was out of order. The hotel was difficult to locate even with gps. Local street signage is confusing as their are 2 Ibis in Braga and it is not clear which one it refers to.
