The amazing view from the room, very nice facilities, such as spa, swimming pool, outside bar. The design and light thru the whole hotel make it a very nice relaxing stay. We booked in August where a lot of families with children stayed in the hotel. Next time we go back in other month it will be more peacefull experience than, but still was great.
Beautiful renovation maintaining original characteristics, modernizing the architecture. Staff very helpful and willing. Great restaurant.
The recovery of this ancient convent is very beautiful, and the rooms facing the river are incerdible.
Good location for further trips and perfect place for relaxing weekend
Probably the best value for money I had during b15 years of business travel
We needed a place to stay
THe town was very interesting, other than that the hotel was not too impressive
The staff is very nice! It's also a very peacefull place to stay!
The surrounding area its really pretty and nice. Calm place near the river and an ancient fort.
The location and the facilities. The Spa is interesting. Short of staff. The restaurant only works by reservation and this was not informed to us. A group arrived and the restaurant was not avialableto the other guest as they not use table more than once.
Friendly, helpful staff. Quiet within easy walking distance of the town. Good food in the restaurant. The scrambled eggs
I like very much the hotel and the villages arround
The staff did try to help. The hotel is supposed to be a thermal spa, but there has not been a thermal spa at the site since 2005. I think information about this should be included. We would not have traveled to Moncao if we had know this.
It's a quite place to stay with a beautiful view to the river. A good place to rest.
Perfect location in the middle of the mountains - good for starting a hike.
Quiet. Sight seeing. The staff was very helpful. (They even called me to give alternative directions.) There is no mobile phone network. Attention: please check your directions with the hotel, they can give you alternative routes.
Outstanding location overlooking square and mountain village. The famous pilgrim church and stairway is right beside the hotel and a mountain stream runs under the entrance of the hotel. We could park our hire car in the square under our bedroom window. The church bells ring twice on the hour mark right through the night. No mobile phone coverage
Hotel da Peneda is a surprise amidst the Natural Park. Its setting is awesome, great atmosphere!
The place (santuario da peneda and the natural park) is terrific and the hotel is new, comfortable and furnished in a "young" way there are no good signs to reach the hotel
Perfect hotel in perfect place. Everything is OK!
Warm hosts, beautiful rural setting outside small town, personal attention and opportunity to get to know hosts.
It was interesting and quite spectacular. It was packed with antiques which, although interesting, gave the house a damp and musty smell. It was also quite dark. They do not accept cards so we had to go to a cash dispenser.
The overall atmosphere of the place and kindness of the staff The bet was definitely too small and uncomfortable. The breakfast was ok but would need more variety (fruit, croissants, etc.)
Historical experience and good service
A stunning place to stay for anyone wanting to avoid the archetypal European hotel offer. A great experience all round In truth Ponte de Barca has relatively little to commend it compared with Ponte de Lima but the Casa Nobre do Correio-Mor makes up for it
very beautifull location and clean room. crazy shower. not very easy indeed. The breakfast was not complete and the staff was a little confused in the morning.
The air conditioning was great. The bathroom was clean. The staff were nice and helpful. The matress felt comfortable at first but it's way too soft. More than one night and you will get a backache. The water jet shower wasnt that effective. The next bedroom guests came in at 1 am and were noisy for an hour, talking, shaving and banging the razor on the sink to do it, slamming doors (the doors of the rooms slamshut as they close). The next day I mentioned the noisy guests and the hotel staff said they have been staying there for a while and are "usually like that" so beware of staying near room 112-113 where they usually stay apparently.
